What a hidden gem and to think every pound spent and morsel consumed helps to support charitable services for the local community Excellent quality, clean, very good service, very reasonable cost. All home produced and fresh on the day. Full English, panini, soup, jacket potatoes and a chose of 2-3 hot lunches (home cooked) and a luscious cake of the day. It was so difficult to choose. SO GO ON .. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL (not for profit) COMMUNITY CENTRE

I have only popped into Chinnor Village Centre a couple of weeks ago to see a friend for a coffee. My feedback is as follows: - staff: very friendly and very helpful. I understand most of them are volunteers. - coffee: very nice - the smell: I could detect smell of urine most likely from the carpet. I understand the Centre by a Day Centre for elderly people. This might explain the cause of the issue. Recommendation: replace the smelly carpets with wooden laminates or Lino - which can be cleaned easier. Please keep me posted when the refurbishment will take and I might come to visit for a full English Breakfast.

What a delightful place this is, right in the heart of the village. Ideal for many retired people who just want a relaxed lunch.

At first site the Community Centre looks a bit like a doctors surgery but once inside there is a very pleasant, spotless cafe and facilities, with a conservatory looking out onto the street. The coffee and food is delicious and served by very friendly staff. It is also very reasonably priced and good value for money unlike the excessive price we paid later in the afternoon for a teabag in hot water at a national organisation's cafe with no interior seating. Well done Chinnor Community Centre. You deserve all the praise you can get.

I live within walking distance - the food is very reasonable in price and wholesome - I particularly think the coronation chicken on a baked potato is well worth a sample and very filling.

Whilst at Chinnor I had lunch at The Village Centre with some local friends. The food they offer is very simple but freshly prepared and nicely presented. The service is good and the staff is very friendly. It was quite busy when we went there and most people where locals.

This is a handy place to meet up with friends for a coffee, (or tea) cake and chat. Staff are friendly and the food is good at very reasonable prices. It is helping the local community at the same time. Lunches are also very well cooked and priced - no wonder it's busy.

We were out in the sunshine on a warm November day! This cafe was busy, friendly and obviously much used by the local community. Food was excellent (we had omelettes) and they had decaf tea - which is not that common in our experience. Recommended.

We arrived after a long day touring the Chilterns and it was 2 minutes before last orders. Nonetheless we were greeted in a very friendly manner. Tea for 2 and 2 pieces of delicious home made cake was £4.90! I had the Vicoria Jam Sponge and it was as light as a feather. All the cakes are made locally and looked delicious. They also do breakfast lunch and afternoon tea along with a menu for chiildren. It is well worth a detour into the village centre for a visit.

Having visited and dined at The Black Horse on numerous occasions I can only surmise that the AI review is for another establishment!!! On our most recent visit we enjoyed several dishes from the menu, all excellent, a special mention must go to the oak smoked pork ribeye, truly mouthwatering. Our service from Jess was exemplary, attentive but not intrusive. She should give masterclasses. All in all a splendid lunchtime experience.

We can not fault the food, the food was delicious. The only thing that let our visit down was the service. We had our starters cleared and wasn’t offered another drink even though we had empty glasses. Mains came (still empty glasses) and even though we addressed that partner didn’t like onions we were assured that we would be fine with the steak only to find out it had onions in the sauce, partner asked if peppercorn sauce was available, chef said it would be 5 which we said no problem, partner waited to eat steak, got to 15 minutes later so we chased up the sauce only to find out the waitress thought we said don’t worry about it. In that time we had to hunt for vinegar as wasn’t asked if we needed any sauces and then went to the bar to get more drinks and ask for ketchup as also wasn’t offered. There was only 3 tables but plenty of staff on floor so no need for poor service. Must point out the manager did come and apologise.

I am a kind of burger fan, my other half celebrates the national fish and chips day here 😊, but I would say here the Scottish Cod and the Berrick Burger are the non-plus ultra of pub food nationwide ✅ All ingredients supplied by local farms, bakeries. Hospitality, kindness, five stars, A+ class. Pets friendly, playground for kids, beer garden, spacious carpark, friendly locals. Strongly recommended place☝

We booked Crazy Bear Stadhampton as a treat for our wedding anniversary and were looking forward to our 2 night stay and dinner in the Thai restaurant on our anniversary day in early November. We were a bit concerned that we didn’t get a response to an email (sent prior to booking) and couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone when we tried to call prior to our arrival. This lead us to check online reviews which were mostly negative particularly for the restaurants. We had a feeling of trepidation. However, everything was excellent. We had booked a Boujee room (these I understand are just down the road from the main hotel) but were upgraded free of charge to a Decadent room. The room was fab, very spacious and had a copper bath at the bottom of the bed. We had a wet room with lovely fluffy towels and robes. The grounds and hotel were lovely, very funky and fun - would be nice to go back at a busier time in the summer. Staff were all lovely and took care of us. Our Thai dinner was really nice with good sized portions. We had a starter each, a main and a shared side dish. Just a few observations to be aware of: Drinks and food are pretty expensive with added service charges. There was only a coffee machine in the room, no tea making options. (I popped round to the garage and grabbed a couple of tea’s on the first morning) Our room (room 10) had another room above. If the occupants of that room are a bit inconsiderate and up and down a lot, it can be irritating and noisy. But over-all we had a wonderful stay and a good experience.
