The Village in Birmingham

Booked a large party for a special occasion and was very happy. Booked for 23 people. Venue asked if we would provide our meal choice in advance which we did. This resulted in smooth service of the meals which arrived promptly (we only lost one and this was quickly sorted). Food was good, atmosphere excellent and servers in the restaurant and bar were lovely. I'll visit again😊

Great service from a lovely blonde girl and two of the male staff on shift tonight were amazing! So attentive and friendly and really kind too us. Food was unreal, still full now and it’s been over two hours. Very expensive though! Porn star martini not that tasty but otherwise was still a lovely time so thanks guys. Your staff are a credit too you!

Had a lovely Valentine’s Day meal with my husband here tonight, the staff are super friendly and attentive. Especially Scarlett and Nicole who offered brilliant service and checked in with us to make sure the food was good. Which it was! Strongly recommend the white chocolate espresso martini! Delicious!

Food quality is not consistent. Just sometimes it's good others really unacceptable. If you tell the nanager she threatens to ban you from the pub. Be careful.

The staff were friendly, however the food was under whelming. I had ordered Pan Fried Cod Loin for my husband who is limited in what he can whilst out after his stroke. What he got was a fish tail and not a cod loin very disappointing and false advertising.

We have visited here a few times for a drink but never for food until today. The food always smelt amazing so we thought we would try the roast dinner today and it did not disappoint! The food was the best roast dinner we have had for a long time. Not only that, the service we had from Scarlett was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she made sure we were comfortable and happy the entire time. She was so attentive and really is a great asset to the place. Thank you Scarlett!

It doesn’t sit well with me to leave this as it really is out of character, see my other reviews but.. Special Christmas Day meal this year as last year we buried my father so Christmas was just a blur, we wanted this year to make it special and take all the stress away and treat ourselves.. A sitting for 5 of us at nearly £80 a head and table booked for 3.30… We arrived on time to 3 pieces of bread already on the table between us and this was our first course apparently, somebody finally brought out our second course over an hour later which again was one small slice of bread and a piece of pate. Main course arriving 40 minutes later, I had the plaice as a treat and it was rubber like something from a joke shop, everybody’s dish was below average with potatoes which are usually the star of the show solid hard and barely edible. Green beans was the only vegetable with the pre order of 3 cauliflower cheeses sold out and not available. Nothing else offered. Next course when it finally arrived was a very small piece of chocolate cake and we were too tired and fed up to stay for what should have been the final course a mince pie and coffee.. Not one apology throughout and barely any interaction from any staff member, There didn’t appear to be anybody in charge, we are nice people and patient generally and made the excuses to each other that it’s a busy day it’s Christmas Day and even left the one girl, the only one that spoke to us £5 because she seemed to be the one doing most of the work. But on reflection when we spoke about it, we are all very disappointed with the whole experience and genuinely the meal was one of the worst we’ve had even for £20..We paid a lot of money for a meal that was barely edible. Not often do I leave a review and never a bad one but even just a simply apology would have been lovely, very disappointing afternoon and it has put all of us off eating out on special occasions ever again. I’ve noticed a lot of 5 star reviews on here which either means we were very unlucky or..

Spent a lovely rainy Sunday here with friends. Food was tasty, and our server Daniel was very attentive and made sure everything was alright for us. He even gave our dog a lovely biscuit to have along with some water.

I’m lucky to live walking distance and have visited the Village regularly for years. Safe to say today was probably the best meal I’ve ever had there! Miiso salmon was on point, chicken wings were tasty and even bit back! 🌶️ 🌶️ 🔥 Nicole and Lily did a great job - thanks guys! 🤌🏽
