Caffe Nero in Birmingham

New staff just new in Nero cafe billing Lady with red hair and she is white that her I didn’t know her name problem when I order hot chocolate with cream with my children and staff lady with red hair that she is very very rude to me and she give me attitude and she racist me because I’m Muslim and she give me dirty look

Went downhill over the past couple of months, grey haired woman doesn't do much and is very sarcastic. They don't know how to make coffee!!!!

No air conditioning, and so, unfortunately, it was uncomfortably warm on a roasting day. Can not fault the staff of the coffee! 😊

I normally love this place and the view from the window of the city but a member of staff behind the counter was bad mannered and I found what was a cat hair in my tiramisu. Once you've started cake you cant determine whether you have swallowed one that got away, but not a very nice experience, enough for me to change the location I go to for a social chat.

The 3 women on Saturday did nothing but talk all shift, a lot of people left the queue. Food was ok

I like this Nero branch at Bullring Link to Grand Central is more quiet which is what I like about its ambience. You can have a great chat with your favourite cuppa. The place is spacious but cozy. Staff are nice and friendly. Love the coffee! My fave is Pistachio latte whether hot or cold but I opted for cappuccino this time around as I needed a pick me upper. It’s a branch I keep coming back to.

Good coffee Can get a bit busy due to location

Visited with friends and while the atmosphere was welcoming and the drinks were very good there was a downside to our visit. There were at least 4 people who I saw order take away drinks then sit down at tables to drink them. I did point this out to staff but was told that people sometimes do that. I was half tempted to ask to have our drinks in paper cups and have the difference refunded. I know it may sound petty, but what's the point in charging less for take out then letting people drink in

Rude staff, no acknowledgment that I was stood waiting for over 5mins yes while 2memberw of staff had a conversation about their outside lives and ignored me. Il stick to lower floor grand central thanks

Very nice place, friendly service and great coffee and cake.

Pretty bad customer service, if not the worst one among all those Neros I’ve been to. Especially from the lady who got her face done heavily (fake lips and such).

The young man called Row amazing service, was stuck on the bar by himself serving customers out the shop. The green haired lady was talking to someone for 20 minutes instead of working!!!

Unprofessional staff: I overheard staff backbiting previous customers. Whatever your opinion on those customers was, you should keep those sorts of comments for after work. It is not etiquette to laugh roaringly loud in front of customers, nor is it appropriate to have a joke and chit chat with coworkers while customers are waiting ages to order or receive their orders. Long wait times: There was a long wait time (although the queue itself wasn’t that long), yet only one person serving. That person was serving customers and making drinks at the same time. Simple rebalancing of staff would have made the wait times a lot shorter. I.e. one member of staff serving customers and the other making the drinks. The main issue here is the staff. Some seem more interested in looking busy rather than actually getting on with things.

Worst Nero I’ve ever been to. The girl at the till wanted to serve me from all the way to the queue and was pulling a face when she couldn’t hear me. Whilst I was placing my order, she would look at her colleague and not make eye contact or even try to hear what I was saying to her. Then she proceeded into asking me “what?”, so had to repeat my order. She gave me my food and cake, and then asked me again if I want anything else, forgetting my coffee. When I said “and a cortado”, she then said that I could have said that earlier to her as my food will now be cold, but I did say it earlier to her, twice. She then proceeded to start having a conversation with her colleague and making jokes giggling, completely forgetting I was waiting for my coffee at the side of the till. 5 minutes later she looks at me and says “ah, yes” and asks her colleague to make it. Didn’t even apologise, placed everything on the tray and passed me the tray with a burned coffee and cold food. No napkins, no cutlery, and it wasn’t even that busy, the queue had 3 people. Great atmosphere, but people like that really hate to be there, ruining our whole experience of wanting to chill for a coffee. Made a bill of £15 to leave disappointed.

Came in just over an hour before closing time - staff were cleaning and took a minute or so to acknowledge me at the counter. Annoyingly was served in a paper cup because ‘we’re closing soon’ - if I want to drink in I don’t see why coming in a whole hour before closing time mandates disposable cups only. Drink was OK. Bits of the seating area were closed off meaning what seats available were mostly full - only one table free to sit (surely if there’s still demand at this time you don’t close off areas of seating?). Also some kids sat in that clearly hadn’t bought anything and were brazenly eating food from elsewhere (staff didn’t bat an eyelid). Not the usual Nero standard. If you need time to clean pay staff to stay a bit after closing time so you can maintain the same service up until then.

Always busy, customer service is not good, they don't smile, some can be abrupt and not friendly. The purple hair lady is the only one that's kind and always smiling.

This Caffe Nero is the slowest I've ever been to. Too busy chatting to each other and waited 20 minutes to then be told that their app wasn't working. Other people were frustrated too. Pointed out that perhaps they should be notifying people when they are in the queue. The member of staff was rude and said it wasn't their fault. My frustration wasn't about the app but that they were slow because they were too busy chatting about personal matters than doing their jobs efficiently.

Terrible service complained to head office on how I was treated no reply three weeks ago go to Costa much better

Their barista Rhomayne is great worker. When I accidentally spilled my drink he ran over and cleaned it all in one second. He was smiling and mopping. Thank you for not being angry 🙏🏼

I’ve been served by their best employer - Rhomayne. He made me my favorite drink and also brought it for me to the table. Really friendly and great customer service

Wasn’t easy to find but good coffee

Very nice Caffè Nero that we visited 3 times over 2 days in central Birmingham. Lovely hot chocolate and coffee. Plenty of nice relaxed seating, quiet relaxed atmosphere. All staff friendly and efficient. Place and tables all clean and cleaner than most branches. Even though this branch is in a mall it doesn’t feel like you’re in a corridor of a mall. Great branch.

Asked for a latte, received a cappuccino (wouldn’t have been a problem but was literally no milk all foam and non dairy milk can be hard to deal with), as soon as I went up to mention anything, the staff all just seemed too depressed to deal with it. Give them a pay rise or something pls💀

The Luxury Hot Chocolate and Belgian Chocolate Brownie is absolutely exquisite and of brilliant quality. Love the aesthetic atmosphere and would definitely recommend. However, please clear up the tables! As when I visited the tables were quite dirty and were not cleaned which limited seating.

Difficult to find this coffee place and portions of cake smaller than in other Nero Caffes. We tried 2 different ones and both were really dry and didn't look and taste fresh. Not so nice experience, unfortunatelly 😬

I requested for a cappuccino and they gave me caffelatte. I informed them that they are two different things and they insisted there is caffè and latte in both. Appalling explanation.

I'm at date today after a long time, I bought a strawberry milkshake. No it was not a milkshake, the taste of strawberry could not be felt. I used to make milk at my house. Orrible. I won't be coming back.

Delicious cookies looked very tempting, I chose the oat cookie and I’m glad I did! It was great with my cup of creamy cappuccino! I love Caffè Nero, I haven’t had a bad experience with them 💕 The atmosphere here is quite cosy, busy but not too busy when I came here 🥰💕✨🌈

My go to shop for hot chocolate. Staff are always friendly and approachable. Also they do talk to you other than take your order

The usual expected from cafe nero, good seating space. However usually there is only one staff to take orders and make drinks. Therefore theres always quite a que and will seldom clean.. should hire more staff especially for such a busy location! Updated review Went back when there were 2 staff present Was much cleaner ... one customer spilled her iced drink and they immediately came to help and clean it, they were quite courteous.

Coffee and cake which was very tasty

I have came a few times now and started to become a regular customer however one of the staff members recently came and didn’t even approach me but from a far distance rudely said to me to sit properly when the seating was rearranged from the original setting and we was here in the morning and bought a drink just popped out for an hour or two she told us to leave when we came back and i would have left in that case but the way she told me was very disrespectful and aggressive and it was embarrassing as their was people staring at us, I have worked as a barista and this is not a way to ask a customer to politely leave so this should be dealt with as it’s a big concern. Every-time I come the tables are always dirty and filled with trays and it’s not very hygienic, don’t get me wrong the sitting area is nice but the dirty tables and chairs ruins the mood.

Cafe Nero had only one girl taking orders and serving customers so it took me more than 30 mins to get my order with less than 10 people before me.

Some of the staff need to learn how to speak to customers.

Its always quite busy but the staff are always pleasant and working hard. The seating areas are comfy and well layed out. Pushchair friendly. The food and drinks are really tasty

The window view gets sunny sometimes down Smallbrook Queensway. Normally quiet here, over the Christmas period it got more busier than usual. The same familiar friendly barista's. Free WiFi from The Cloud. Books in one area if people want to read something.

Very busy cafe but the girls working here are always making sure to welcome customers with a smile. The tall blonde girl and the lady with multicoloured hair are always cheerful and friendly!

staff are extremely disrespectful and rude, in particular a short caucasian woman with blonde hair terrible customer service. Was quietly observing and having my coffee in the corner while i observed her get a complete attitude with a young girl for throwing trash that did not belong to the cafe and making her dig it out. Although i personally had a good experience today with other staff and had enjoyed my coffee i was left with a bad taste after i had seen how she had treated the young girl and am unsure whether i would come back to this particular caffè nero. All i’ve got to say caffe nero is train your staff better as i have read about other rude staff within the comment section!

Haven't been for some time to this Nero, tables cleaned after previous customer fairly quickly, toilets clean which is always a good sign and staff very helpfull.

Poor coffee, stale cake and to top it all a mouse scampering across floor!! Best avoid. I always go to Nero but will avoid this one in future

The Afro Caribbean man who works in the cafe was obnoxiously rude to my 74 grandma. She is a heart patient who can only eat specific foods due to her medication. She was carrying a sandwich from prey a manger, however I placed an abundant order with Cafe Nero of drinks and snacks, with the intention to sit down with my grandma and enjoy them. This man refused to allow my elderly grandma to sit down, he raised his voice and told her she was not welcome if she carried food from another location. He refused to leave her alone to the extent that she expressed she felt threatened by his aggressive behaviour. We ended up leaving the cafe and we definitely won’t return.

Ive eaten here before and never been disappointed staff are always great and food lovely. However, I always have Caesar salad. I decided to have the baguette, which wasn't cheap at £11.95 . My friend had the set price two course costing £14.99 deep fried brie and Caesar salad. Mine paled into insignificance!! We both loved the food and our wine was served perfectly. The cost of my sandwich was far too expensive. please look at this for next time. Will return, but be careful with what I order.
