The View in Stratford-on-Avon

What a fabulous place the marina and the restaurant. I've been coming here for 4 years now and to stop over with your boat is only £20 per night including electric, you can't go camping for that price! I was able to fuel up and have luxurious showers and do my washing while I was here. I can't rate the place enough, David the guy in charge is very helpful and friendly, well worth stopping over even for just 1 night

We visited The View for a Sunday lunch as a family of 10 for my mum's birthday. The food was beautiful and good portion sizes. Staff were very attentive and friendly making sure we had all that we needed. We will definitely be visiting again!

Lovely relaxed venue for a family get together, had a tasty brunch cooked by JJ and staff were friendly. Enjoyed a walk around the canal. Will definitely be visiting The View again soon

The food is here superb. We’ve visited on many occasions for breakfast and lunch with family and friends. The menu offers plenty of choice for all, quality of the food is fantastic and everything just tastes delicious. Portions are generous, the Sunday lunch is highly recommended. Service has always been the best nothing is too much trouble, super friendly and attentive. Perfect spot for larger gatherings with a very generous upstairs space which has a balcony with spectacular views. Equally good for a warm and hearty breakfast or a cream tea after a dog walk on the canal towpath. With plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the canal boats on a sunny day. Wonderful friendly atmosphere with great food highly recommended.

Just met up with friends, having read some bad reviews, however….. had some awesome food, friendly staff and beautiful views. Will definitely go again…if just for the trio of ice cream (so many flavours). Plenty of staff there on hand. Brilliant visit.

Have been coming to the view for many years! Never had a bad meal! The roast is just amazing and the full English never disappoints! The staff are always very attentive and working hard. On a warm sunny day you just can’t beat sitting outside with a light bite and taking in the gorgeous view! Oh and the sheep are just hilarious Baaing every time someone walks close by ha! I highly recommend The View for any occasion a big family meal or even a quick breakfast you won’t be disappointed!

went to The View for late breakfast when we arrived it was very busy we were shown to our table for six shortly afterwards we ordered drinks /food the service was fast , friendly and very efficient the food arrived quickly it was hot and delicious despite a few of asking for slight changes to the ultimate breakfast ie no black pudding extra mushrooms etc they all arrived just as ordered we were asked for top up drinks etc we cannot fault our experience it was excellent , I think it is priced fairly and the portions are ample we must not forget just how difficult it is for hospitality these days with the huge staffing costs and thats if you can get them and the massive rises in energy , I just hope The View is there for many years to come providing a fantastic venue in a magnificent location

There are some really good things about The View; the coffee, the portion sizes, it's dog friendly, car parking. Having been a few times, usually at werkends, the service can miss the mark. Staff seem well meaning but communication can let things down. Most recent visit, my pal asked for two items to be left off her cooked breakfast and four items were omitted. She explained, and one item was bought to our table. She asked again and the second was dutifully put next to her but no apology. When our table was cleared and we asked to pay, 'Please pay at the till on the way out.' OK, no problem. Then a couple of minutes later someone appeared with a card reader. Improvements in the communication would make the service less bumpy. Food very nice.

Today was the first time we'd eaten at The View. Absolutely delicious meal. Great value for money. Excellent service. We were advised to book and I'm so gad that we did as it was extremely busy, but our table by the window was waiting for us. Cannot fault it. We are certainly returning!

I have been coming to this venue since it opened and I really don’t know what’s happened to it as the last two times it’s not been good at all. Mainly because errors are made with the orders and that’s if the food comes at all (In the latest case)! Also to add how can you justify charging £13 for a jacket potato? I would come back, but only for a drink not to eat again

I’ve been here before and had a good lunch. However seems like a new menu with a price rise - jacket potato £12.95!! This time the visit was a disaster. Ordered 2 lime and sodas without ice - they appeared with ice. We then ordered the smoked salmon pasta and vegetable curry. 30 mins later still no food so we spoke to waitress who returned with the answer. The chicken is freshly cooked and it does take a while. I replied we haven’t ordered chicken and repeated our order. She said I automatically assumed the curry was with chicken. Strange assumption for a vegetarian dish!! She disappeared returning 10 minutes later to say it’s just being plated up. My friend refused to wait and we left. On our way out we were asked if there was a problem and we explained that the service was dreadful. At no time did anyone offer another drink or recompense

Met up with some friends for a lunch. As we were a group we were required to pre order our meals. I ordered Lamb Shank, served with mashed potato, a few peas and a few green beans. The lamb shank was probably the worst I have had in a fairly long life, it had dried out to the point where it had an outer shell of tough, almost leathery meat. The peas were peas, the beans rather tough. The mashed potato was fine though. I was close to sending it all back, but as part of a largish group made the best of the meal that I could, rather than disturb the proceedings. I did complain after the meal however, only to be told that nothing could be done as I hadn't complained earlier. So, be warned, if you are not satisfied with your meal complain at once, don't leave it until later. I doubt I shall be going back, as apart from the attitudes displayed the prices are, IMHO, excessive for the quality of food served.

As always a very warm welcome at The View. Fabulous chocolate & orange cake - moist & tasty. And a perfect creamy cappuccino. Enthusiastic and friendly staff, clean & tidy restaurant.

went for a breakfast for my mothers birthday. As usual; food was perfect, staff are always very happy and cheerfull. They made my moms day and i just wish we could have stayed longer looking out at the beautiful views. Cant fault the place and certainly not the staff.

We really wanted brunch but opted for lunch instead as they were not serving brunch at 12:45pm on Saturday. I ordered the fish finger sandwich which was very price @ £14 something I thought this must be huge for the price, to my surprise it was most disappointing sandwich ever. And was not justified to charge £14 I was shocked and so very disappointed and I felt robbed actually. I mentioned it to the waitress who replied with thank you for your feedback I’ll pass it on that is it. Lovely views but I won’t be recommending The View due to Frend let down and disappointed massively. It had three strips of fish fingers on a big thick cut brown bread and a small portion of chips and my tiny salad was not fresh either.

Our Bowls Club meets regularly for Brunch before we play Bowls. The food is well prepared, served efficiently (there are normally 12 of us) and tastes good. The waitresses are pleasant and polite and payment is easy, even though we are a group. I would certainly recommend groups or individuals to enjoy The View experience.

A lovely restaurant ruined by being ignored by staff. I know that it was busy but there were spare tables available. It was the fact that we were just totally blanked whilst waiting to be seated , although there seemed to b a lot of staff. The annoyance is that we weren’t even acknowledged and asked to patient. A simple lesson in hospitality would make all the difference.

In contrast to earlier reviews, I have to contradict and report that an issue of undercooked food was handled very well. A replacement dish was ordered and arrived promptly. It was actually seasoned much better too and I enjoyed my breakfast.
