Beautifully presented pub with gorgeous outside dining area. Very friendly staff & prompt service. Food was delicious.

The Falcon is one of the few places that successfully combines being a local pub but also a resturant. The resturant area is open with lovely views of the garden and of the surrounding countryside. It is possible on a fine day to sit in the garden surrounded by the flower beds. Almost the entire menu is gluten free and I have never before visited a resturant with such a large choice of gluten free food. All food was freshly cooked, but also served promptly. Our waitress was charming and nothing was too much trouble for her. A visit to the Falcon was a wonderful experience and an excellent meal.

We met a friend for lunc, half-way between our homes. It was great to see so many vegan options on the menu. Our mains were a curry and the small plate risotto and both were delicious. The sde salad needed some dressing, hence 4 stars for food. Beautifully furnished pub. Lots of space between tables. Very friendly, helpful staff. Dog friendly. It's not local to us but we have arranged another two visits already! On one of our road trips and for Christmas (and, yep, it is only April!!)

My husband and I decided to pop out for a cheeky lunch to the Falcon to celebrate me retiring from work. They never let us down. We had the added bonus of seeing the lovely Sandy back working there. She always provides a warm welcome and looks after us. She is attentive to detail and nothing is too much trouble. Clearly she is highly experienced and customer focused. That cannot be said of everyone! Carl and I shared the crispy quid for starters, which I love. I then had the vegetarian curry and Carl had the steak burger. Carl's fries were not quite hot enough and Sandy insisted on replacing them with some fresh fries. I had the small pudding with a hot drink which is just enough for me. I ordered a lovely oat milk cappuccino with a small sticky pudding, which was delicious. Quite simply with Sandy at the helm, our dining experience at the Falcon was enhanced, that's a plain fact. Thank you, Sandy.

Lovely pub, food out of the ordinary bar food. Service impeccable, we had a newbie waiter & he was great. Had plenty of GF options. Food was presented like a top notch restaurant . Best ladies toilets I've seen in a while, clean, tidy & brilliantly decorated, like the whole pub, inside & out. This was our first time here, was a half way point to meet up with family. Will definitely be returning.

I had the pleasure of eating at the falcon the coffee and cake is amazing and Tom duty manager was fantastic. Thank you for accommodating me and I will most definitely be back.

The Falcon is one of our favourite places to eat! We were there on Sunday as a family and Tom looked after us so incredibly well. All our dishes were delicious. Especially the Crispy Chilli Beef and the Roast Shoulder of Lamb. It was a windy day so we didn't hang around outside but on a dry, warmer day the views are stunning. If you haven't yet been put The Falcon on your list, you won't be disappointed.

While the staff were friendly and it’s a lovely environment, my husband and I were a little disappointed in the Sunday roast. I had the beef, the beef was cooked nicely and the gravy was delicious however the veg really let the meal down. My 4 tiny potatoes were all rock hard, over cooked and impossible to eat, one tiny piece of carrot, a pile of cabbage and a weird super puréed looking baby food type pile which I refused to even try. Husband’s 2 large roasties were undercooked and his plate also seriously disappointed on the veg front. And for the price of the dish you’d expect a decent amount of everything.

Food service was very efficient. Order taken quickly & food arrived promptly. Food nicely presented & tasted great. Plenty of choice on the menu. Staff friendly & polite.

We had an excellent late lunch. Tasted fabulous and Tom our server was fantastic. He went out of his way to make our time more enjoyable. Thank you. It’s the little things that make such a big difference.

The food was lovely and the service was excellent! However, i did seem to notice a member of staff, (female, long brown hair) pull down a younger member of staffs skirt and didn’t adhere to this as appropriate behaviour.

My family took us there for Sunday lunch our first visit. The food was delicious, lovely surroundings and attentive staff. Perhaps a tad expensive but no complaints. Will be back.

Went with my husband and two friends for an early dinner. Enjoyed the atmosphere and good food but felt it was a little pricey, especially the side dishes of vegetables at £4.95, each also better to share a bottle of wine than to buy it by the glass.

First time here and found the bar staff very welcoming from the start. Pre booking advisable. We booked our table for 6.30pm and the tables very quickly filled up. Plenty of ales in tap to chose from... The food served here is fantastic and the waiting staff very polite and helpful. Would definitely come back as the quality of the food I feel is a nudge above anywhere else I've been locally.

The Staff Service and Food are excellent. Add the location and you have a wonderful experience.

Very busy place. We were made welcome as soon as the staff were able to. Only one type of steak on the menu T-bone I elected to go for the Lamb. Cooked to perfection The puddings are a little on the dear side £8.45 for their size

Visited with family for Sunday lunch. Food and service was very good. Main course prices acceptable for quality provided. Good selection of drought beers and ciders available. I did feel that the dessert menu prices were rather expensive at £8.45 each !! though, for what was pretty standard pub fayre, i.e. (sticky toffee pudding) but would return.

Love this pub. The food it very tasty and I always over indulge. It is expensive but the food it worth it. You can book a dog table which includes snacks. My burger and fries was really good and dessert is always a treat, I always order the cafetiere which is such a blast. Everyone on my table loved the atmosphere and the warming fire and leather sofas (we sat at a table) are a great add. The staff are uber friendly. Highly recommend, for a good night out. They have a large car park. But I would book.

Thank you so much to the Team for yesterday. We had a table of 12x for a special Birthday dinner. Have to say our experience was brilliant from the minute we walked in - a warm welcome, service was flawless throughout the afternoon, all food was out promptly & everyone was saying how fab the food was. Posh gastro pub with plenty of parking, good food/portions and a nice outdoor area in the summer.

Food was good as always but service was poor. We were sat for 20 / 30 mins waiting for our drinks and I had to go and ask for them.

Had a lovely time with a group of friends. My only reservation is that it's a little pricey, but we just went for drinks and pudding, which worked well. Always a welcoming, cosy atmosphere, but also lots of space and choice of where to sit. It was surprisingly well frequented on a cold, wet Monday evening in January. The puddings are delicious! I had a mini brownie (amazing) with hot chocolate, which came as one, rather than a bigger pudding. Lots of parking, and it's just a quick drive up the road from Banbury but surrounded by open fields for miles.

We had dinner their last Saturday 8th may, but it was outside because of covid. Really enjoyed ourselves.

We both had cod a chips today. Cooked well, everything hot and well presented but probably the blandest most tasteless fish I think I’ve ever had. Tasted of nothing and was a bit strange.

This time of year is always tough for me as it’s my mother’s anniversary and I go and visit her in Avon Dassett church. Stopping at the Falcon is always factored into the day and it never lets us down! The most delicious menu from small bites to its main meals, it’s wonderfully warm and always a great welcome from all the staff. I must say as a publican it gives me pub envy vibes, also a few sneaky ideas for my neck of the woods too!! Thank you for all the fantastic visits and for having the best pub loos ever!!!

The most amazing place to eat. A wide variety of gf food suitable for coeliacs. Very clued up on allergens. Really tasty food, lovely atmosphere and the service was second to none. I haven’t seen my coeliac daughter enjoy food like this for years. Thank you

Only a drink and a chat, but staff very helpful and attentive. Lovely roaring central fire. Nicely laid arranged spaces.

The staff are very helpful. But the vegetarian menu is not very good. In fact all my hubby and I got to eat was chips and garlic bread, at least my hubby had the chips I really don't like big fat chips, which is all they seemed to offer.

Had an extremely bad experience eating here. Ordered a £35 steak . When it arrived it looked like it had been flattened with a hammer. It was of good quality. And was hardly worth the price. Our other meal was burnt . Yet both meals were cold to the touch. Considering we had a meal just before Xmas that was very good. I was very disappointed to say the least.

A pun in the middle of nowhere, yet the world and his wife seemed to be there! Service was excellent, friendly staff. Food was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble,!

The food is not good at all, especially for the price. You can't charge 16.95 for 4 pieces of pasta which is chewy and tastes awful (wild mushroom tortellini). The food is below average and needs a lot of work (main courses specifically, starters were okay and sweet potato soup was very yummy). But the service was amazing and so was the ambience just rubbish food. Need a new chef maybe.

Lovely warm and comforting place with open fire to just sit relax and reflect you can get a good meal very reasonably priced in a fantastic atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff .very attentive and helpful if you have allergies . Disabled friendly with special parking close to entrance. Disabled toilets. We are going today boxing day .for meal with family and friends.so watch this space Pauline ⭐ tell you later about costs today as didn't pay the bill last time so no idea .but prices to suit most pockets according to the prices listed here.

Nice and friendly staff, nice food and a very welcoming warm Christmasy atmosphere. We all throughly enjoyed it.

My wife is coeliac and they have loads of amazing gluten-free options (80-90% of the menu is gluten-free!). The staff member who served us was also coeliac so felt assured when ordering the food. We’ve been there twice now and service has been consistent on both occasions.

Sadly our recent visit was not great. We went to start our Christmas week off, and were placed in a quiet side section with little festive charm. Staff were attentive and efficient but our table wasn't fully set and lacked the crackers. There was an issue with my Pil Pil prawns...they were just prawns in water, this was quickly resolved but they were not good overall once the correct dish was sent out. The hake was very dry and not great, full of bones and over cooked. My mushroom tortellini said it came with a puree, but it was just 2 pea sized dots. Overall really disappointed as previously we have always enjoyed The Falcon. Hopefully it was a one off due to different chefs or being busy, but that shouldn't be an excuse either.

Came here for our work xmas meal. What was really great is that their festive menu is really varied and not all turkey dinners! Food was excellent, our waitress was really lovely, and there was a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be coming back here

Four of us ate here on a Sunday lunchtime. The place was full & buzzing. Booking necessary. 5 stars for ambience, decor, menu & service. The food quality was only average & therefore expensive (hence the overall 3 stars).
