Ordered the steak medium. Came out, not as I ordered. Forgot all the sides…. No check up on the food by the staff. Waste of time. Walked out leaving a Stella behind! Bad!!!

Good pub food whilst watching the match on their fantastic big screens. The chicken strips and loaded fries was tasty and served in good time.

Only 2 ‘miserable’ bar staff on an extremely busy Friday lunch time. I literally waited 25 minutes to get served, 1 of the bar staff kept disappearing for ages meaning he didn’t know who was next in line, huge square bar with no system what so ever, people pushing in being served before others that had been waiting for a long time, items not on the menu, coffee machine not working, only 2 waiting staff to bring out food it was total unorganised chaos!!! We received our starter but did not receive our main by which time we were due to be back at work so had to get a refund and leave hungry. An hour to get some food and drinks is more than ample time in this day and age. Not impressed! Why the hell would there only be 4 members of staff to deal with hundreds of hungry and thirsty punters on a lunch service in a restaurant / bar this size? This place needs managing much better. It’s not rocket science to organise a staff roter that is adequate for the time of day. They are obviously cutting back to save money. Well, you’re gonna loose a lot more money from returning customers than a few quid you’d save on wages as we are definitely not coming back!

We went for our friends 40th birthday and they were great with all our food and drinks Dan helped sort everything out and was super helpful.

My husband and I frequently visit this pub for a quick drink and snacks. Excellent service and atmosphere, children are also allowed here which is a big plus for us!

We had booked a table online at the Italian restaurant at the hotel however on arriving we were told that the Italian was closed for refurbishment. They offered us a table in the Victory pub. The place was noisy and sport was on the telly. The lighting in the “pub restaurant” was poor. In reality this is a pub that serves food rather than a restaurant and if you come here see it as such and it is not a restaurant experience. The service was good and quick so no fault there. As for the food, this was average. I opted for the wings to start followed by a burger and my wife opted for the ribs. All the food arrived together, the chips luke warm. The wings were dry and my wife reported that the ribs were dry as well. So overall not a good experience and a place I probably won’t ever come to again.

Food was good but lacking for calorie contious people. Found quite expensive too but expect it's this expensive in the area.

We went to this restaurant for a quick meal after a trip to the hospital. Not much choice other than burgers, nor was there many healthy options. 3 of us ordered double burgers, all of which were over cooked. We were sat near the fire exit, where people were using the fire exit to go in and out for cigarettes with people inappropriately propping the door open. This is not only against fire safety regulations, but we were absolutely freezing. Will not be returning!

Not many veggie options. Menu variety is limited and not too great. Would have liked to have seen a few heathy options. Was slightly frustrated after ordering to see people being served salads as this wasn’t on the menu and I’d have gone for it if I knew. Food itself wasn’t great. Small portions (ordered the sandwiches) couldn’t believe it was priced at £10. Pizzas weren’t fresh. Service wasn’t too bad but due to the food I Wouldn’t recommend. So many nicer places in the area or in Bushey.

The barmaid was screechy "babe, darling, sweetheart", but was polite to be fair. On a really busy football night there were only two servers so queues were quite long, but the barmaid did work as fast as possible and didn't faff about at all, so credit there. The TV for the football was amazing, great size and can be seen by all. The food was not that good. Overpriced. The hubby had ribs and paid extra for a "full rack" but was given the size of what you expect for half. They were dry. The "kaleslaw " was a fail. The food in general for the standard was expensive, and when you pay those prices you expect a bit more. The air con was on in January so sat watching the football in my coat I was freezing. But, I would go back to watch the footy definitely, I'd just make sure I had a sweatshirt on and eat beforehand, but happy to go back and have drinks, drinks were reasonably priced.

Good burger/pub grub style dishes. The only time service let us down was when we were a big party and there were big gaps between the first and last of us being served. Otherwise, staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable seating. Very handy being part of the Village Hotel and members of the gym have a 10 per cent discount.

The chicken with noodles and broccoli was very tasty but the club sandwich on brown, although good to eat, was a bit on the small side, cut into four, the same size as dainty cucumber sandwiches. Staff helpful and service quick.

A solidly average pub-eatery. Reasonable menu at a reasonable price. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Burger and chips etc. Nothing in the way of dessert though.

Fui con amigos mientras trabajan en el hotel. El pub en el lugar es una gran idea y además para el Village. Después de un largo día en una reunión de empresa que ofrece un ambiente relajado para relajarse con colegas y no la típica serios, bar con más incómodos los mejores precios sino un verdadero ambiente de pub. Hay fútbol/deportes en todas las pantallas grandes y la mezcla de clientes hace que la gente buena, el observar los parroquianos, corporaciones, justo a la izquierda el gimnasio tener un agua y luego el tipo de huésped del hotel. . En ocasiones, incluso las celebridades que han sido los estudios de rodaje en el cercano. Buena selección de cervezas y vinos. El ambiente es relajado y el personal es muy amable. El menú aquí es limitado pero es caliente y fresco y las porciones son muy generosas, ofrecen hamburguesas, pizza chapatis, alitas de pollo todo de buena calidad y sabroso, y exactamente lo que usted esperaría si no un buen poco sorprendente más por el precio que pagas. Tienen como costumbre pub ofrece una hamburguesa y una pinta de precio fijo en un viernes de Ri llevar la gente. Si su estancia en el hotel es una gran alternativa para la cena a la Buca Di Beppo italiano que también está en el lugar. La victoria para el pueblo pequeño y bonito!

Great Atmosphere here, very good food and great Staff, want to praise James the Bar Manager for his professional approach, and friendly personality.

This pub is part of the village hotel and have visited on many occasions. Not a great choice on the menu but food tastes fine ,they also catered for the grandkids 6 and 7 gave them drawings and crayons kids menu etc. we all enjoyed and prices not to bad comfortable surroundings but try to avoid when football is on as it gets busy/noisy and may not be to every bodies taste.

We first used this pub on arrival at the adjoining hotel.It was quiet apart from a few tables of lads watching the footie. We ordered a sandwich and chips, which arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. I was really impressed as I'm not a fan of pub food usually. We had beef and horseradish with caramelised onion which was simply amazing, and it came with loads of crisps on the side, had we known that we wouldn't have ordered the chips! We returned later that evening for a few more drinks and most of the drinkers were sitting in the hotel lobby leaving the bar fairly empty, however the staff were very attentive and polite, it is a nice place, not at all romantic but it is what it is and hotel guests get 10% off their bill, I would definitely return if I was in the area.

Last time I had the spare ribs but couldn't finish the meal despite my best efforts. I'll try my hardest next time!

I'm not sure what they can do to improve the ambiance of this pub-in-a-hotel, the sound on the TV was turned down and the background music, if any, was not audible, it was fairly empty and very quiet.Difficult to create any relaxing atmosphere as a pub, it looked like the tables and booths were more about getting food orders than a relaxing drink.

Recently improved immeasurably with new decor great quality food and goods device in the main although the staff do sometimes switch off when your chasing a sandwich after 45 minutes! The new managers made a real positive improvement

Worst nachos I've eaten. Barely any jalapeños, sour cream tasted off, I don't know anyone could make nachos taste so bad or they're really using the cheapest and the lowest quality of ingredients. I was testing the water before ordering a main meal - and now I'd rather wait till I get home. They also messed up the drinks order at the bar. Would not recommend

Nice place, bad food. We ate there on 2 occasions and the worst food we were given was fish and chips. Tasteless and greasy fish, full of oil and chips pretty much the same. Good venue for drinks though.

Food was really very good, my partner had ham egg and chips and we've never seen anything quite like it, when it arrived we thought the ham was on a bread roll, but it was actually the size of the ham itself. I had the pub special burger which was really nice, although I wish they didn't serve it up in a basket on a bit of paper, cos the papers tears and its all just for show, just stick it on a nice plate!

We came for lunch and dinner after swimming at the Hotel.Caesar Salad, Ham & Cheeseelt and kids fish finger meals all very good.The fries are skin on crisp and delicious. All staff were very helpful and although a pub / bar well set up for young children.

I wasn't sure what to expect as when you enter the bar tries hard to cater for the sports fan. That's fine but does this half heartedly. The food was great but pies are cooked from fresh so can take 45 minutes. I had the flatbread pizza and was full without completing it. The service was polite and really enjoyed the experience.

Wide spectrum of beers. Well poured and handled. Food goes well with beers but the menu is quite boring. Burger at the first visit was ok in the second visit was half cold. The service is average. Had my plate removed without askind if i want to finish my fries.....

My first experience was not good but I'm glad I went back as every other time the food and service were good or very good. Reasonable choice of food and portion size good. Staff helpful

We always use Village Hotels as they are everything that we acquire but on this occasion the food was incredibly disappointing as there was nothing much that I liked on the menu. Loved the vegetarian curry the first night both my husband and I opted for the Ham, eggs and chips on the second night. We were starving too. At £11 each it didn't even fill the tin plate! The ham was well and truly hidden under the 2 small fried eggs! 4 tiny round pieces of ham that would fit in your palm, thinly sliced. Wouldn't even pay £5.50 for it! So hungry that we went for the lemon cheesecake too. Equally disappointing! Not much of a biscuit base as you had to look for it! Grains to be in fact! Creamy mousse but didn't taste very lemony. Wouldn't eat here again - would rather have a takeaway to our room from "Just Eat," more choice and a lot cheaper!

I was really impressed with this bar. I went here to meet a friend to watch the football last night, and it was a lovely experience. The drinks are cheap the food was not overpriced and came out very quickly and the service was prompt and efficient. I would definitely recommend this pub to others who want to watch a football game in comfort and nice surroundings.

We decided to have a couple of drinks here as our room in the hotel wasn't ready.We were served straight away, my husband was able to sample the beer first. They even gave us our first drink on the house, which we thought was a very good gesture.The service was second to none.It was really quiet, and we noticed that a few people who was in the pub had ordered food, which looked absolutely delicious. We had a look at the menu, and there was a good variety of food on offer.We did say when we visit the hotel again, we will definately be eating in the bar this time.We would like to say thankyou to the Manager behind the bar for giving us a free drink, and for making us feel very welcome.Best wishes.Sharon & Jason.

Had a nice burger meal here whilst on an overnight stay.The burger was really lovely and tasty and I can highly recommend them.They have some good offers here so well worth a look.Lovely large desserts of which I had a lemon cheese cake style thing in a tin mug ...absolutely lush.Good service Would use again.

Excellent,good food,friendly staff,and a roaring open fire.Went after a funeral,had a table by the fire.Enjoyed by everyone.

Nice place, goo atmosphere and decent food for a pub. Good choice of beers and wines and you can happily sit there 'till late.

It's a pub, nothing more. The atmosphere is good and the decor is modern. Good beer selection. Food is typical of most pubs - basic. Does the job for a quick drink and meal but not much more.

Had a good dinner and drinks, with a standard "British Pub" feel. Prices are reasonable (compared to the restaurant) plus the healthy Salads on the menu were better than they write them up.

I have recently reviewed the hotel and included a little bit about this bar there but to reiterate.A nice bar with friendly staff serving nice Pina Colada's. Locals enjoy there football in there so it can become quite loud but they were well behaved whilst I was in there.Drinks prices were about average given the area.

The food is average but the service is very good. We all had burgers which were average, what you would expect for this style of pub. The drinks were good with a reasonable selection. The staff are what make this place good.

They have some great beers here!! Their food is priced very well. And their food is very good!! They have lots of large TVs to watch the games on!! A lot of people come to hangout and just watch games there.

Don't bother ordering food from this place, ordered a cheeseburger with salad, it arrived with chips instead, to be replaced reluctantly by the waitress for a side salad consisting of 2 pieces of lettuce and not much else. Had a mouthful of the burger, only to discover it had peanut butter on it? Queried this at the bar and pointed out that it was a good job that I didn't have a nut allergy, or I would have been on my way to hospital. I also asked her to have a look at the size of the burger, as it was smaller than a McDonald's happy meal burger. Just had my money back from the burger and went elsewhere. New menu or not it's rubbish, shame as the place seems nice enough.

Nice looking venue. Easy place to have a drink. Food is a massive let down. Items unavailable. Only informed of this when rest of party receives their food. Gap of 25 mins between starters being delivered to table. Main courses also delivered with large gap. Burgers overcooked and cold, which only really emphasised how cheap and poor the quality was. Quite possibly the worst burger I've ever had...

Opted for the lunch deal Ham Egg & Chips £6 includes a drink. Cheap overpriced rubbish advertised as a deal, some deal, the quality was worse than a greasy spoon cafe.

Very friendly and approachable staff. Food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff acknowledged us when we arrived and left the pub.

I was here on 25/10/2014 and I don't understand where the bad reviews are coming from. The staff were friendly, and very helpful.We ordered food and it was quick service (10-15 minute wait) for a good portion of good food.Lovely pub grub, great pub atmosphere, 4/5 because a couple of pints were flat (which were exchanged without question)

They had run out of what I wanted, so they let me change to what I wanted, and didn't charge me any extra. I wasn't impressed that they had run out of a main meal on a Friday night when the bar was quiet though!

Waited 20 mins for a beer where one girl at bar who completly ignored one end of the bar to then get charged 4.95 for a budget larger! Place is a joke wouldn't surgest anyone try it's unless very patient guess prices don't matter as takes so long to get served you will only have 1

Went for lunch after a 6 hour journey and we were looking for good satisfying pub food to help us settle into our stay. We all ordered off the meal deal offer which consisted of varying mains and a soft drink for £6 or £7, which was really reasonable considering the price of mains alone. You pay on order and get given your drink at the bar, however inconsistencies were experience immediately, from differeing sizes of drink (some recieving not even a half pint size, compared to others pint of soft drinks) to different costs of the same meal deal. One guest ordered 2 meal deals which somehow equalled over £21, when it should have been around £14. This wasn't looking positive.We all ordered after each other and were sat at the same table, food orders came out in varying times, considering the most 'exciting' meal was a chicken burger this was a little worrying. My own order was completely wrong after asking for a Jacket Potato with Chilli Con Carne, I was given tuna. The reason was apparently that the waiter has only just moved to the area and mistook chilli for tuna. Don't get me wrong, I'm very understanding of different accents and dialects, having quite a broad north eastern accent myself, but that excuse I couldn't understand. The waiter did apologise and bring me what I had ordered, however by this point the rest of the party had finished eating. The chicken burger was also very over cooked and had most definitely been microwaved, which was not what we were expecting.We were then asked at the main reception of the hotel whether we had enjoyed our food and after we had politely explained what had occured they had organised free drinks in the bar in the evening for our inconvenience. On arriving at the bar, however, the message had not been passed on and we felt like we had to justify what was not our decision to be made. Based on this occasion, I would not be inclined to eat here again, the service from the start was not great and didn't pick up at any point. Our party understood that a group of 8 would take time to accomodate, but expected a much better service considering the price and this would not have been the first larger group to have dined here.

Ordered rack of ribs, came out quickly but massively over microwaved. Was tough as old boots as parts had been cooked beyond recognition.Not impressed for £13.

Decent enough pub. The food was pretty good, we ate here twice at night and one lunch. However some of the beers were a bit on the flat side.

Food was exactly as expected. Staff were friendly. My only hang up was with the kids offer. My son had a kids meal (drink, main and dessert) this was on the kids menu for 5.95. It stated on the same menu that under 5's ate free, so my daughter (under 5) had a kids meal too, I assumed that this would be free. But what isn't stated on the menu is only when an adult it buying a meal (luckily I was) and that this is only a main course, it does not include the rest of their meal (drink + dessert). This was not explained until I ordered the children desserts, for which I was charged 4pounds for a kids fruit and ice cream!! I was disgusted, the staff member serving me agreed that the menu is not clear and that there needs to be a change to it. So, apart from being ripped off for a bit of chopped up fruit and a little scoop of ice-cream, everything else was ok.

Great food, especially pop chicken, mmmmm.Staff friendly, manager he was a great bloke had time for everyone.Thats it, try it. Watch out football games on tv sometimes, if ur not into footy it gets noisy.

Decent venue for an easy drink and ok food. Not somewhere for anything special bug ok for relatively inexpensive reasonable food. Nice, attentive staff, ok for a quick bite to eat.

Enjoyed the food and drink. Found noise levels quite high, but it was the weekend before Christmas so plenty of people were talking quite loudly. And why not?

As a captive market we unfortunately had to return here again as working nearby. Either here or next door at Bucca do Pepo are dire- in summary do not come here if you have a choice. Sticking pins in your eyes and going hungry is probably the preferred option. Either that or eating your own arm. Service absolutely terrible, wait time post order was an hour and when it came to main course they managed yet yet yet again to forget one.....and then argue the toss about it. Great customer service NOT!!! When 'The Village' will finally wake up and sort it out I do not know but if considering visiting in the next millennium I'd. 'Take a rain check' as the Yanks say!

A fairly average pub and grub with a hustle and bustle atmosphere. A very long wait for our ice-cream dessert resulted in a refund which was extremely welcome as each one was about £6!

Bad food and bad service. There are many more pretty, well run pubs in the area so give this one a miss.

Stayed in the hotel so had a couple of snacks in this bar. Everything we had was lovely. Look out for the "red card" offers - basically fill in a few details & get a membership card that entitles you to daily offers. We got one on arrival which allowed us to get 2 burgers for £10 - usual price between £10 & £12 each. Another night they had red card roulette, with the offer changing every 15mins - we saved 50% on our food by ordering at the right time & a couple of 2 for 1 beers / wines

Not really my cup of tea. Pub tends to have football on all the screens and quite often noisy with local punters using the facilities.

A great place to eat, drink and socialise! Really enjoyed the atmopshere here, and the value is fantastic. They have great offers on depending on the day you visit.For example we had steak and a glass of wine for £10!The decor is really nice, loved the booths near the window.

Stayed at the weekend and had a late lunch yesterday, the food is fine. Its not a fine dinning place its a pub, so expect pub grub and you wont be disapointed.

Tried to eat here on Sunday, but they had no children's menus. Waited 10 minutes while they went to look, then gave up and tried elsewhere. Gave it another go the next day, and it was better but not that good. Food is burgers and fried stuff, nothing special. However, it's expensive for what you get. It's Wetherspoon quality (nearly), but at much higher prices. Our 2 burger meals, 2 kids meals, sharing starter, desert and a drink each came to nearly £60. It was far too much for the quality. Food is ordered at the bar and brought to the table.

The Victory Pub & Kitchen gehört zum Hotel im selben Gebäude. Es sollte eigentlich das Restaurant zum Hotel sein, aber dieser Plan ging gründlich schief. Die Einrichtung ist zwar modern aber auf geschmacklos alt gemacht. Das typisch englische Pub-Feeling bleibt erhalten, aber davon leider nur die negativen Punkte. Das Personal ist nicht besonders schnell oder aufmerksam. Das Essen ist durchschnittlich, weder besonders gut noch schön angerichtet. Nur wer wirklich Hunger hat sollte hier her gehen.

Visited with 3 friends for a bite to eat. 2 members of the group received their food and there was a 5 min wait for the other 2 dishes. No cutlery or napkins delivered with meals. Ran out of napkins and I had to ask waiter to find an alternative (bearing in mind it's a hotel with another restaurant). Was given small drinks napkin as an alternative! Ordered BBQ burger and only got cheese burger. They just brought it back to kitchen and poured on sauce. Did not reheat anything. All meals were luke warm. Football fans in the bar chanting so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. No attempt from staff to ask them to quieten down. Went to pay for bar tab and waited for approx 6-7 mins and no one at all to be seen either behind the bar or on the floor. Even after opening kitchen door and shouting for service, no one appeared. Had to go to reception and ask them to get someone. Overall was a shambles and not what you would expect from a bar in a 4* hotel. Will not be returning.
