The Oakmere House Harvester in Hertsmere

Special shout out for Archie, he was a fantastic waiter and went above and beyond to accommodate our large table. Food was lovely and all salad bar was fresh and well stocked. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back again!

Over 2.5hours to feed a table with 2 kids at 5.15. menus change isn't great either

Sat down for 25 minutes, drink order taken straight away but still no drinks 25 minutes later. Complain to the manager, just sorry no resolution. Watched the waiters pick their nose as they drop off drinks, shambles! AVOID

enjoyed the scampi and chips not the greatest but a quick Friday fix

We went to Harvester late last night and were served by Yaz and Cat. By the time we arrived there was no salad left so Cat kindly took note of what we wanted and made a fresh salad for me and my mum, we were more than pleased! We ended up being the last in the restaurant and felt very at home and not rushed. Yaz was amazing and had some lovely chats. We will definitely be back soon, mostly due to service :)

Always excellent service whether it’s for a quick drink or a meal. Staff are friendly and always go above and beyond. Cat is always so welcoming and helpful.

i may have given you a 1 star however, you have a female service crew called Lucy. she is nice and attentive. she has served us twice before...you should give her a raise or promote her to manager. this 1 star is for the most recent visit last 13/5/23, Lucy was not working that day.

Lady on the bar was so helpful to charge my phone but tables on garden were full of glasses and foods left over

I went into Harvester for a quick study session and some food, and fell completely in love with the service, food and atmosphere of this place! I was first greeted at the door by the welcoming Archie, who made me feel instantly settled when I did not have a booking, and he then introduced me to the wonderful waitress, Eloise. I was looking for somewhere with a charger to sit and do my work and grab a bite to eat, so Eloise helped with attention to detail on where would be best for me for the evening. High praises for them both from me for making my studying session way less stressful haha! They couldn't have been lovelier!! Food was amazing too! I will be back, I'm sure :)

Visited for my Birthday with my parents, brother and sister-in-law. Ellie was our server and was brilliant. Gave us perfect amount of time to decide what we wanted. Food arrived quickly, hot and freshly cooked. Had a lovely time, would definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely pub, my husband and I often pop in here for a drink and lunch, never disappointed on food or staff friendliness, overall great atmosphere and value for money. Absolutely loved the sage and onion chips.

Had a lovely family meal this evening, steak and skewers were delicious and cooked perfectly. Luke looked after us well and was really polite and friendly :) Been to a few harvesters and this is definitely becoming our new favourite :)

Ellie was very accommodating for the children and lovely with it. nothing was too much trouble for her including taking my Phone to charge it! Thank you

Always great, food is lovely and the serving staff are always polite and even becoming friends with the amount we go 😂. Always a friendly and happy atmosphere and great with kids. Would recommend and is one of our favourite places to eat. We have had pretty much everything on the menu and not to fault any.

Been here a few times now, the location/parking/food/service/atmosphere is really good, even the prices are not like other restaurants but still getting quality food, all the staff are so vibrant and helpful if your not sure what to choose from so, 5 stars from me.

Great service. My friend has some food intolerances, and our server, Lily, was incredibly patient and understanding — something that's rare to find at restaurants.

Food was lukewarm warm…. Chips were cold. The driver delivered the food from an ordinary supermarket carrier bag! Really poor service. There should be an option to get a refund on this app!

Just ate at the Harvester in PB .. the food was great but the service was impeccable our waiter ARCHIE was a star, he ran around for us, was constantly attentive & did an amazing job .. big call out for this guy, definitely recommend the restaurant & the lovely staff .. will be back for sure 😁 Julie West

Terrible bar service. Waited 15 minutes only for the bar staff to serve someone that just walked up to the front of the queue.

HORRIBLE OLAC3 NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE GOING THERE AGAIN BECAUSE HAD MY DOG AND WE SIT ON THE DOG SECTION THEY REFUSED TO COME AND TAKE ORDER FROM THE TABLE SAYING WE NEED TO GO TO THE BAR. WHICH WAS NO THE THE CASE LAST TIME . MAKES YOU FEEL WORTH NOTHING THERE IS NO SUCH A INFORMATION ON TUE WEBSITE JUST BECAUSE YOU COME WITH THE DOG YOU ARE TREAT LIKE A DOG. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN.

Awful food and service was really poor. Couple of dishes unavailable and that was at 13.30. Salad bar is very limited to how it used to be. Ordered Sirloin Steak medium rare and turned up almost well done. Fed this to my German shepherd who struggled to chew it. Hard to get staff attention. Burger was just a clump of unseasoned mince with soft onion rings and a manky hash brown. Chips looked like they had been sat under a heat lamp for a couple of hours. Will not be returning to this Harvester or any other if that's the standard of food they offer.

Excellent full english breakfast this Saturday morning, well cooked. We will be back!!!

Have not been to a harvester for many years but were looking forward to their ribs we decided on the lunch menu but that day did not have ribs had the burger nice but nit ribs also surprised as salad bar less options than memories on the whole nice but disappointing

Lack of organisational skills Get to my booking early had to wait because they were short staffed. Fine. Wait 40 mins and then for them to tell it’s not suitable for the 2 high chairs booked with the table… regular that won’t be coming back.

Had a lovely evening meal. Great atmosphere. Salad bar well stocked. Staff friendly and jolly. Our waitress Yasemin was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. Food served promptly. Tasty and delicious. Excellent value for money. Could not fault it.

The lady who seated us was a bit rude. Asking if I had a reservation when it was half empty on a tuesday lunchtime. People came after us and just seated themselves. Seated us at the worst tables in the entire restaurant. The darkest part of the restaurant, tables weren't even level. Server was friendly and helpful (his name was luke)

A good choice for value for money food. Lovely decor. Excellent service. Some rather raucous people in the bar, but we'll sit further away next time!

Went for lunch at this branch of Harvester today..food was excellent and the service we had from a young man named Luke was so helpful and professional...hope the management reward this young man will definitely return..

We had a fantastic meal at the Harvester Oakmere! Luke, our server, was amazing—so patient and attentive, ensuring our large group’s order was spot on, even accommodating those with allergies perfectly. The food was great, and our daughter had a wonderful birthday celebration. A special shoutout to Abi for the fabulous rendition of Happy Birthday, which made her night! We’d definitely visit again.

Always have a good time here with my family. It’s a lovely building, warm and inviting inside set in lovely grounds. Really good value and incredible brownie sundae for dessert that 4 of us had to share! Last visit Lily was our waitress and she was great.

I had a great time here tonight 22/02/25. A friend and I just turned up, we had not booked but the lady on reception checked her computer and said we could come in. So that was great. We had a lovely young man called Rahim who helped us with our choices, he was very considerate and attentive to us, he went the extra mile with his service! Thanks Rahim. I had a chicken skewer, the chips were beautiful and I forgot that the Harvester did the salad bar, so that’s was great too. Thanks for having us. Well worth the drive. Oh my proffered cider is Kopperberg, but I won’t take stars away for that 😁

Despite this Harvester being my local, we don’t get to eat here very often because it’s almost too close to home. Having eaten at many other Harvesters up and down the country however, I can vouch for the quality of the food at Oakmere House. The salad bar is well kept and it’s one of the few locations to always have pineapple chunks! We were served by the very friendly, helpful and attentive Lily today! :)

Really appreciate the birthday meal as a gesture. The food was also beautifully cooked and the service excellent. I could not have asked for more, save to actually try and remember to collect my visit stamps in the app next time. You should sell the sage and onion coating for your fries and your blue cheese dressing and I'd happily pay so that I could take these home!

I visited your restaurant on Saturday evening . The staff were lovely and efficient. Particularly the lovely young fellas Dan and Raheem. They were polite and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was lovely but l wasn't keen on the rectangular plates. Too narrow to eat main course on. Overall good experience.

Had a great experience I was with my daughter in law and 3month old grandson our table attendant who was Kat she was great we had too settle the baby who was hungry she served us drinks & kept coming back numerous times too check on us as we had too settle baby before we could order our lunch , the food was really good she was really attentive even though it was getting busy .

Food was the best it's ever tasted (apart from the ribs) I guess because it was quieter this day the food quality seemed better although the ribs were a bit flavourless and tasted weird. The service was a bit slow because it seemed the server was on his own, he was doing a great job it just seemed he was the only person for quite a few tables so getting service wasn't easy.

I’m local, so it’s convenient but on both occasions there aren’t enough breakfast staff. Poor Yasemin is running around like a plate spinner at the circus. My eggs Benedict is advertised with a soft fluffy muffin. It was as hard as a hockey puck. I didn’t complain because if they made it again, everyone else would have finished their meal. I appreciate good staff are hard to come by these days, but if the chef is going to turn up on a Sunday morning he should have a bit more pride in what he serves up.

Had a lovely pre-birthday dinner with a friend. Food was good but service by Louisa was excellent!

We booked a table for eight people for this evening for my mother‘s 86th birthday. Last minute we had an additional guest so when we turned up, we informed them that there would be nine of us, the lady behind the desk whose name I believe is Catherine and a manager there, brusquely informed me they were full and there was only that table, she then said you might be able to squeeze round it. My sister arrived a few minutes later and was told the same in the same manner, then telling us there aren’t any extra chairs and when one was found it was not a proper dining chair but lower than the rest. Her attitude was not at all friendly or helpful. This was a special occasion and we have been to Harvesters for many birthdays/anniversaries as my mother likes it here. It’s been a difficult time for our family and this was meant to be a high point in the calendar with one family member making an effort to drive 90 minutes one way for the occasion. I’m just upset that there was such indifference and a lack of care, no apology, no I’ll see what I can do, just brusque and unfriendly and we didn’t feel taken care of, or valued in any way. It was a bit tight around the table but as that was the situation we made do, but her behaviour soured the experience. In contrast, our server Louisa was a delight, friendly, pleasant and helpful, despite serving many large parties and being run off her feet.

Although living very close to the Harvester, I haven’t been for some while, but my daughter suggested we have lunch there. We both ordered coffee and a Simply chicken lunch. The salad bar was very good, as I remembered, and there was a little wait for our meal, but nothing too much. When the meals were served, the chicken was very small, didn’t look like a whole breast of chicken and it was overcooked and dry. The jacket potato on the other hand wasn’t cooked properly and most of it was hard. I told the waitress and they took a cup of coffee off the bill. I didn’t really enjoy it.

We went to the Harvester Saturday night for a casual dinner. Is it gormet food? No. But, is the menu varied? Is the food hot, fresh, tasty? Does it come out quickly (but not too quick)? Is the decor and restaurant clean and decent? Are the staff helpful, polite and friendly? Is it value for money? Yes to all of the above. I asked for a cocktail that wasn't on the menu, and our server Yas was more than happy to accommodate, really nice person and seems to love her job, wants to look after her customers. The food was really nice and hot, would highly recommend the fish and chips and chicken skewers. Will definitely be returning. Gave 4/5 stars for atmosphere only because there was a group of v loud people in the bar area that made it hard to have a conversation. But hey - it's Harvester. It's where people go to have a good evening.

Went to Oakmere house harvester Im potters bar for lunch with a friend today. Waitress lily was very friendly and professional whilst taking our food order. Food was delicious as always. Great service also atmosphere too. Have being going to Oakmere house harvester for years. All the staff that work there are very friendly, helpful always provide good service. Friendly staff, good choice of food, good atmosphere and nice surroundings

Lovely warm welcome when we arrived into a busy Restaurant. Yasmin was our waitress who was both delightful and efficient coping with our large party of 11. She returned often to check if we were happy with our food and whether we required any more drinks. Food is excellent value and the children loved the choice from their menu and the complimentary activity pack was a great success.

I would like to praise our waiter Rahim he was such a polite young man with great service skills. I took my mum for her 80th birthday and from the start he was amazing, even organising a candle in my mums desert and singing happy birthday! My mum and dad both agreed with me that he went above and beyond which is very rare these days. So keep up that amazing service Rahim.
