We always love coming to the Oakmere Harvester and the food is always great. Yasmin is amazing and always so helpful

We came in earlier today for a meal, the food was lovely. Our server Abi was amazing! Super professional and helpful with any queries. The rest of the team were also friendly and efficient. Super time, will defiantly be returning.

Really did not want to come here as Harvesters nowadays have a bad reputation and several friends made rude comments, but my friends who we went with had booked a table. I was surprised as to good it was and was pleased, straight off, to see a 5 star health rating on the door entrance. We were shown to our table and served by Archie. An extremely pleasant and attentive server. If we went there again, he would be the person we would want to serve us. The food came in good time and was nice and hot. 3 of us has the chicken and I had the ribs. No one had any complaint. We started with the self serve salad bar which was well stocked and excellent choice. We did book this through Groupon who had a coupon but they had an offer on anyway which made the meals very reasonable. We will definitely return. Don’t forget to ask for Archie as your server. Also no tip was added on the bill so it was up to us as to what we gave which was 15% because it had been so good. The restaurant is set back from the road in the High Street Potters Bar and we saw it soon after we drove past it. Don’t forget to put your car number plate in the computer for free parking although the staff warned us to do it as soon as we entered.

Don't go here for a sandwich. They only do full.plates of food. Nice coffee but was left a little hungry

Love coming here. Come at least twice a month as it's good food for good value. The service from Laura the last time we came was particularly good, making it the best visit we've had so far. Looking forward to coming along again 👍👍

This is our regular go to for lunch on either a Saturday or Sunday. The food is always great and we always leave full. There's good space around the restaurant and it doesn't feel over crowded. The only thing I would raise is that sometimes, depending on who is at reception, the person who shows you to your seat could be sometimes unhappy or cold towards you. On one occasion I was stood there with my wife and daughter whilst the person behind the counter was on the phone for a long time. After he got off the phone he just walked off. I then waited with the family but as he didn't come back I searched for another waitress / Waiter so that they could help show us to a seat. Most of the time it's not the case but just something to be mindful of.

I've dined at this restaurant a couple of times, and had the same consistent experience. While the food is generally decent, the service is consistently lacking. It's clear that the place is severely understaffed, which really impacts the overall experience. The staff that are there do their best, but they’re clearly stretched thin, leading to long wait times and a lack of personalised service. On my last visit, it took ages just to place our order and receive our food and drinks. The servers are friendly but overwhelmed, and it’s disappointing to see such potential wasted due to poor management. This place could be great with proper staffing, but as it stands, the service just isn't up to par. Would love to return if things improve, but until then, it’s hard to justify coming back. I don’t normally write reviews, but it’s clear something has to change here. EDITED TO RESPOND TO THE MANAGEMENT: Unfortunately, the management responded with an automated message (it is similar to all the other negative reviews), which only confirms my concerns. If they had actually read my review, they would know that this isn't a one-off experience—I've mentioned that it's been a consistent issue across multiple visits. It's disappointing to see that the management doesn't seem to care about addressing these problems and appears unwilling to make the necessary changes. Until they start taking feedback seriously, I can't see the situation improving, and I wouldn't recommend this place unless things change!!!

The food was good and our waiter was always helpful and friendly.

What a brilliant experience! The service was excellent , our waitress was attentive, patient and delivered all our requests perfectly. The steak was cooked to perfection, it was so tender. Portion sizes were large. Salad available at all times. Desserts were gorgeous! Atmosphere was quiet, cool. We will be returning. I highly recommend.

Had a lovely afternoon with my husband. Salad bar was fresh with some unusual dishes for a change. We both had the Haddock and chips, very pleased fish was really fresh and tasty. Treacle pudding (off the scale). Nice summery drinks too. Served by the very attentive Rahim. Thank you for a special afternoon.

Served today by ARCHIE what a credit to harvester he is! Polite, attentive, made us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble! And served us with a smile! Treat him well harvester you need more staff like him! Honestly I can’t praise this young man enough!

Had a few bad experiences in other Harvesters so reluctant to go but my girlfriend convinced me and loved it, definitely changed my opinion on Harvester but that being said, they are quite understaffed and it's a shame because service can be a little hit and miss but besides that, all good!

Father's Day .. My little daughter invited me to Harvester...what can go wrong? First, I didn't know you couldn't get a table if you didn't reserve one before you got to the restaurant, we were lucky enough to find one in the bar area.Food come pretty quick. Small portions for the prices. Chicken was good

Yas was a great server - helpful and made sure we’re comfortable. I have a severe allergy and she was really careful and reassuring. My friend had her little girl with her and Yas made sure she was well looked after too. Great visit.

BLOODY CHICKEN 🤢🤮 Chicken was served with blood in it all inside the meat and along the bone when I cut into it I was totally put off and did not want to exchange it for anything else. I showed the staff and the chef and was told that's how it is 🤮 Chicken is not supposed to have any blood in it once thoroughly cooked through properly that is how you get food poisoning. This was not just small traces of blood I cut into three different pieces of the chicken and found blood in all three 🤢 Even my 5 year old son said the food did not look fresh when we went up to the open kitchen and saw the chef cooking it on the grill near the salad bar. NASTY, at least we were given a refund but Never Again will we be going there I am not sure how this place is able to serve a piece of chicken like this. I wish I took a picture. One lady who worked there even had the audacity to tell me that even if you were to cook the chicken for 2 hours it will still have blood in it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 when I heard that I knew there was no point even wasting my breath 🙄 bye 👋 Maybe they thought I was having a steak and forgot to ask me how would you like your chicken cooked Sir well done, medium rare, rare or VERY RARE 🤣🤣🤣🤢🤮 Response from your reply - this was not a vein from the spine this was raw red blood in three different places and after reading some of the reviews as I thought maybe it was just me I saw that someone has actually caught food poisoning from Harvester Potters Bar DISGUSTING

Great food and service, more over great location

Great food and service when we went. Only moan was a large group celebrating a party, who did nothing but moan, find fault with everything. They made the poor servers life a misery, but she was extremely professional. Will definitely return.

Today for Father’s Day myself and my family was served by a wonderful lady Willow, she has an amazing personality, laughs with the customers, has a great smile on her face and has customers feel welcomed and comfortable while dining in this restaurant, thank you so much Willow for the amazing experience most definitely recommend for everyone to come and dine here!

Nicely decorated restaurant overlooking a lake with outdoor seating. Service is friendly, efficient, and relaxed. Food is freshly cooked to order coming out of the kitchen hot and simply presented. The free salad bar is fresh and vibrant with a good choice and even a selection of rolls. Plenty of parking, but do remember to register your vehicle in the restaurant not to be charged.

We go here every Sunday for breakfast, sometimes we go with our teenage sons, sometimes as a large family group but mostly we do a breakfast date. The food is always fresh and hot. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended xx

We ordered a steak, ribs, and a chicken wrap for £50! After waiting 45 minutes, we asked for an update and were told it would be another 15 minutes. The food finally arrived after an hour. The steak was small and very chewy, while the other dishes were just mediocre. Definitely not worth £50! Especially after waiting for an hour! The waiter even forgot to bring cutlery. Awful experience with terrible service and food. Ruined our Sunday, won't come back again.

Lovely place lovely staff but food is not nice my steak was like boot leather couldn’t even get a fork in it and chicken was dry

Planned to catch up with an old mate of mine this week, so we went to this place due to the location, I had the mixed grill. We sat outside at a table which didn't have used plates and old food still on it! Steak was cooked right but was pretty cold, and the chicken was also cold (luke warm at best). The sausage and egg were hot whoop!! Real shame as the surroundings are lovely and we were looking forward to catching up for ages so decided to grab something to eat for a change. Very pricy for the quality of food served. Staff and service was good, shame about the food!! Probably wouldn't risk going back here again as it wasn't particularly busy either so I would expect better.

Good food for the price, we had the week evening 2 course menu, skewers ; Chicken for me and halloumi for my friend (we always have rotisserie chicken but they had run out!). Our lovely waitress Laura made for this with her lovely manner and great customer service and we had really good brownies for dessert with a coffee too. Lovely catch up with a good friend - we will be back!!! Thanks Oakmere team!

Just your normal harvester food is always a little bland! We love the salad bar and the bonus of this harvester it’s in the grounds of Oakmere park which is super handy with children.

The chicken combo and kids menu were great. Haven't been to a harvester for years, much better. Will go again soon .

Had Sunday breakfast with family members however very disappointed, there were no sausages at 10:30 in the morning? But even worse the classic breakfast we all ordered were served lukewarm apart from the poached eggs which were excellent. We have had Sunday breakfast several times in the past year or so but I don’t think we will return after today’s experience.

One of my favourite pubs for their garden seating overlooking a lake. Definitely recommend it for a nice summer day. The pints are very reasonably priced as well.

The food was quick and delicious. Our waitress Yasemin was very friendly and helpful.

It is a very beautiful place with amazing location and views. The garden is so nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food is very bad. I had a Halloumi salad bowel. The cheese was rubbery and cold. The cabbage in the salad wasn't fresh, and you could see the stale edges. My son had the BBQ chicken from the kids' menu. The chicken was undercooked and lathered with too much BBQ sauce, and my son couldn't eat it. My daughter had a chicken salad bowl. In addition to the stale vegetables, the chicken was burnt from outside and undercooked from the inside. I would recommend the place for a drink only.

I usually love the salad bar but it was almost bare with many things missing. I asked the staff but all they brought out were some onion flakes! Service was very slow, although the waitress was very nice. I think they're very understaffed. Are Harvester trying to run down all of their restaurants so they can sell them off or convert them to Miller & Carter?

We couldn't use our deals unless half of us moved to a different table. We got served the tinest bowl of mac and cheese which cost £4 the flat bread was hard the chicken in the flat bread was abit burnt wasn't impressed

The pub was nice and quiet, the service was a little slow when ordering drinks but a nice pub to have a drink in.

Dessert was missing and when I requested a refund for the missing item, I was denied. NOT the first time this has happened.

Worse harvester- Me my mother in law and partner went to go yesterday for some food well the lady at the front of house bit( blonde lady) found us a seat. sat us round massive tables with screaming kids and large families and above a Loud music speaker.. me and my mother in law suffer with anxiety and it was all abit much so I went up to the lady who seated us and asked politely if there was anyway she could possibly move us to somewhere abit more calmer I explained the situation. She said sorry we have no tables available so I said it there no way you can help? There was about 10 or more tables available for what I saw. I felt like she wasn’t professional and wasn’t willing to help accommodate what so ever I think it’s pretty disgusting. I got up and ended up leaving on the way out she didn’t even say oh your leaving I’m sorry or nothing just watched us leave… AVOID This HARVESTER If you have any kind of anxiety or mental health as they don’t accommodate…

Always made to feel welcome when we come here, the staff are very friendly. The food is good value for what it is and it’s an ideal place to eat with the family, especially as it is very child friendly. On this occasion, to the Harvester in Potters Bar, we were served by Rahim. He provided top notch service (5 stars) and was very professional and polite. He was attentive and went out of his way to help with anything that we needed - I think he was a credit to the Harvester! Thank you

Restaurant is a little tired but otherwise as expected, staff are great though

A great family night out . Good food plenty of laughs and great service .our only criticism is that portions are gone smaller while prices are gone up . Pork ribs are almost half the size the last time we visited.
