Am not too sure where a lot of the hate is coming from on these reviews. I can only speak from experience but both the staff and the locals are very welcoming. Never had any issues and if any of the allegations were to be true I’d imagine anyone in their right mind present or within earshot would not stand for it. This is a real gem of a pub and one of the last classics.

They’ve deleted the other reviews from last night but the bartender was very rude. He made a big fuss about serving us. Also super racist. He didn’t serve the ONE black person in our group and didn’t believe her ID was real. Didn’t ask anyone else for ID. Would not recommend.

🚇Cambridge Heath 🍺 £6.00 Carlsberg The Victory is tucked away down a cobbled side street in Cambridge Heath. The nearest Tube is Bethnal Green, Cambridge Heath Overground station is close by. This pub was built in 1843 and was remodelled at some point in the 1930’s much like the adjacent warehouses. The pub’s exterior features in an episode of Minder, Utterly Unchanged. This one bar pub is set out in an L-shape and is traditionally decorated. The servery follows the line of the bar and has a rare to see tiled counter. To the left of the servery is an old Joanna surrounded by trinkets. At the other end of the bar is a pool table with dimpled banquettes either side. The seating consists of tables and chairs by the corner window plus a few stools to prop up the bar. For the warmer months, there are a few benches out the front. The beer selection was all keg with a choice of well known standard tipples. I decided on a Carlsberg, my pint was great, price point was average. This pub doesn’t have a food menu but there are plenty of bar snacks to choose from. I arrived just before 1pm on a mild Saturday lunchtime in June. The pub was quiet with one other friendly punter in attendance. We got chatting and it turns out he was from where some of my family live in Ireland. He was also telling loads of stories about his escapades drinking in pubs in London which had me in fits of laughter. I was served by the landlady who was courteous and welcoming. The Victory is a proper oldschool East End pub that hasn’t changed in a generation. I love the fact this pub hasn’t changed but fear for its survival at the same time. I had the most enjoyable time talking to a lovely chap who has used this pub for years, his “second home” he called it. There are not many of these establishments left and would wholeheartedly recommend a visit. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 22.06.24

Fantastic pub! Best place to grab a drink in the station, forget brewdog! Great selection of drinks, yummy food and fantastic staff. Special mention to Katie and her fantastic customer service. Always greets with a smile, even when the pub is heaving, and helped me discover my new favourite drink! Thanks Katie!

Worst pub I’ve been in my life. The doors were locked, the waiter was extremely rude and did not wanted to serve us because he was “too tired”. Never felt treated worst in my life do not recommend anyone to go there

I had high hopes for this so-called 'hidden gem,' but my experience was anything but pleasant. The service was exceptionally rude, with staff displaying a condescending attitude that made me feel unwelcome. Far from the charming spot it’s advertised to be, it’s just an ordinary pub with an inflated sense of superiority. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had

You'll either love it or hate it. Don't come here expecting great customer service, cracking vibe and a group of young attractive patrons. Appreciate it for what it is, a relic from the past, an east London pubs that has survived gentrification and a reminder what a pub used to be, a focal point for the surrounding community to gather. My favourite pub because of the characters that frequent it and I hope it never changes.

A local establishment with one of the ruddest staff you will ever encounter, yet the whole experience is worth it if you're with a group of mates and want to socialise with the rest of the pub. Keep some coins for the jukebox and the pool, the staff obviously won't have any change. Unfortunately the darts are not available anymore, make it come back!!

Came here for a quiet pint on a Saturday with my mate, the fool at the bar stood looking at our IDs for about 5 minutes questioning us and then refused us service. This has never happened to either of us before and I wish him and the pub the absolute worst. Awful experience.

Me and my mate walked half an hour to this place thought it looked quite nice, walked in with a lot of hope, only to be turned away by the pillock behind the bar. We were perfectly polite talking to him and when he asked for our I.D. No problem, we both had provisional licence on us. The man spent 5 minutes looking at my I.D as I practically told him my life story per request, only to refuse service. Horrible man and terrible service, what a shame, me and my mate love finding new pubs, should have been a lovely experience with repeat visits. No need to worry, we’re happy now, both pint in hand at a much better establishment. Do not go to the victory.

6 Pounds is the most expensive pint I've had so far! The password for the WiFi is apparently too long for the bartender to provide... once he appeared.

Worst pub I've ever been too by a long way. Filthy glasses and absolutely stinks. Do not use the toilets as they are horrific with waste everywhere including outside of the toilet! Overheard the barman saying extremely racist stuff to what seemed like friends of his. Its actually impressive how bad this place is!

Lovely local used to be lots of pubs like this in Bethnal Green but sadly most have now gone. Can't go wrong with a pint of Guinness and a bit of country and western on the juke box

Would rate this 0 stars if I could but there was a lovely Asian server with glasses who was very nice and helpful only him, the food is overpriced and bland , no seasoning tastes like nothing , the atmosphere is very boring and the staff are disinterested and rude , I will never go here again because of how tasteless the food was , I just wanted to try Turkish food but the food served here at this resturant is a disgrace to Turkish food , if your looking for a new resturant please don’t go here you will regret it , they also add expensive service charge , I regret wasting my money and time going somewhere that feels so lifeless . I do not recommend at all , there are many other great restaurants in the area don’t go here .

I visited Parlour in Canary Wharf recently and was surprised by an unexpected charge on my bill. After ordering three drinks and a small portion of almonds at the bar, I was charged a service fee—without any prior notice. Normally, a service charge applies for table service, but in this case, I placed my own order and picked it up myself. When I questioned the fee I was told that it’s standard for 3 or more drinks. I don’t think this is right… It feels misleading to tack on extra fees without informing customers beforehand. Transparency matters, and it’s disappointing when a venue tries to sneak in additional costs. While the drinks were fine, this lack of honesty left a bad taste. If you’re planning to visit, make sure to check your bill carefully!
