A post-walk Fish and Chips with a large glass of organic red with our dog in the bar area doesn’t get more perfect.

Third time today I've been to lunch here with three friends. Food always excellent. Today's Calves Liver special was amazing. The staff were very welcoming & friendly. Looking forward to another visit in the near future. Highly recommend.

We have given tremendous support to this pub since they opened in 2020, visiting maybe 30+ times and bringing family and friends. It has been decent, with minor problems that we didn’t find too significant. However, the service on our last visit by their assistant manager, Cristina Terzea, left us speechless. Most appalling and unprofessional, it was reported to the owner, who did nothing to make it right. Therefore we will never be going back.

Lovely pub but £17.85 for a pint of Landlord a Pimms and a bag of crisps takes it off our list 😳

Lovely pub both indoor and outside with friendly and attentive staff in the main. The food was okay but a little underwhelming. Roast beef was good however portion was small and sausage and mash was average at best (the sausages were overcooked and small). Apple crumble was very good as was the coffee. There is a service charge of 15% included on the bill which I personally don’t agree with.

Came here for my mothers birthday and was very disappointed as we were told tables were booked which clearly wasn’t they just didn’t want to give them to us and the food was just so awful we had fish and chips and the batter was abit over cooked and the chips was just a really terrible experience.

Credit where credits due - the Sunday lunch we just had at the Victoria was excellent! Excellent value, perfect service - all 8 of us were served at the same time. Lovely atmosphere. The Victoria has not been so good in the past (previous management) but at the minute it is well worth a visit. We will be back.

Very busy and a popular pub. Large garden popular for families with babies and buggys and pushchairs when weather allows. Good service.

Food was excellent had Cauliflower and coconut soup followed by sea bass and crumble.

It is so good to see The Victoria doing well. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and it was really busy and buzzing. The food was good and the staff very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to our next visit.

We celebrated my birthday and had lovely snitzels and kids sausage and mash with lovely sticky toffee pudding and delicious chocolate brownies

Had some very nice meals here. Service is always very good. Big garden, great for the summer and cosy fires for the winter. Most recent visit we had beef burger, Cajun chicken burger and pea and falafel burger. All very nice

Very good gastropub; can be difficult to hold a dinner conversation when busy inside. Lovely outside seating and ease of parking.

Had a meal at The Victoria with a colleague I was NOT IMPRESSED. Looking at the One and Two star reviews I fully understand what the customers are commenting on. The Obvious lack of interest by the management in NOT answering the complaints speaks volumes . It's a PUB that thinks it's a Top Restaurant with it's crazy prices . It's just Basic Foods dressed up to be something that it is NOT. Now even offering 30% OFF on certain days it would not make me want to enter the premises again. Let's face it A Pub Burger in a roll is a Pub Burger in a roll you shouldn't have to re mortgage your house or have a bank loan to have one. Just another overpriced slap dash eatery and there are many in the area. I AWAIT A RESPONSE FROM THE MANAGEMENT IF THEY DEEM TO REPLY. A YEAR LATER and STILL WAITING

Very good place, different environments, different eating options. I would love if they added more variety in terms of drinks because I found few types of beer. Good staff, good atmosphere.

Fantastic food great service we went for my dad's 90th birthday and we all enjoyed it

Really enjoyed our Sunday roast here a couple of weeks ago. Service was good from our waiter Tom and the food was delicious! Soft and tender roast beef, tasty starters and a wonderful apple and blackberry crumble with custard which was exceptional. There’s loads of parking and a great specials board (not available on Sundays) that we’d love to come back and try next time. It’s not the cheapest Sunday roast you’ll find, but it’s great quality so we were happy with the overall price. Would recommend and hope to visit again soon.

Overall a very good evening. Family of 10 and the food was good. Service also good. Good atmosphere and busy kinda buzz for a Thursday.

We had a very nice lunch which was well presented with efficient and friendly service. It was very busy on a Tuesday lunchtime so it was worth booking in advance.

Really nice pub, well catered and good selection of drinks on offer. It is massive and I think would be really buzzing when full. No fault of the pub but at 12 on a Sunday I think it was just gearing up! Roast was great!

Since this pub was refurbished it has become a local gem! Christina is certainly a wonderful asset - always gives a friendly welcome, matched with a beaming smile and pleasant chat... Food, service and surroundings are all fantastic, plus the garden is great during the summer months - particularly as they're dog friendly! 🐶🐾 Well Done The Victoria, keep it up... 👌👏

Had a burger and it was way below par and had a mezzanine to-share it was drab at best. The ladies who servers us very polite and friendly and prompt. Ordered a rhubarb crumble it ok could of done with more custard.

I have been to this pub numerous times prior and never had a problem, as a result I thought it would be a good idea to book a Sunday roast for my mum's birthday. What a mistake! The food was great, but the service was poor at best. Waited 1hr and half to recieve our mains, even after asking the staff for updates on the food. People were arriving after us and leaving before we had even been served. Gutted given this is within walking distance to us and was our "go to place". Will be taking our custom to other places in future.

I’ll start by saying that the staff are all lovely and friendly. The manager, in particular, is always very smiley and welcoming. The food is ok at best but the service is usually pretty fast. I’d recommend booking at weekends as it’s often busy inside and out if the weather is good. The atmosphere is what let’s this place down. It feels a little dead inside and is often filled with entitled, obnoxious people. I know they can’t do much about the type of people that visit but it is a shame.

Had a Sunday roast dinner on the 23rd July 2023 the amount of vegetables I got was dreadful 1 carrot a few strands of cabbage 1 parsnip not even been roasted and 3 very small roasted potatoes which weren’t even roasted I would not recommend eating there

What a waste of money! Food below average, personnel with an attitude and lack of professionalism. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

Food was only average at best for the price and the service whilst friendly was lacking in knowledge and professionalism. Some of the staff were smoking and joking about in full view of the customers dinning in the garden, not very encouraging.

The service was very friendly but totally inept. Missed all our order and delivered in wrong order. Forgot the olives. Wrong order for my wife’s 2 starters . After reminder about the wine gotvwrong wine and wrong amount. When wanted a top up of wine nobody around to take order. Found the two waitresses chatting by the bar and not walking around to check on customers. Lovely setting but missing the essentials. Keith S

Went for a Sunday roast.... There were plenty of tables, but we were put on a table for four when there were two of us. We asked to move to a small table for two, which seemed to cause them problems?! The beef was nice, but the Yorkshire was dry and crispy, vegetables were limited - there was a small amount of Savoy cabbage, one half of one thin carrot and one half of a small parsnip and three roast potatoes. We asked for more veg and it was given to us, but it was a real disappointment to have to ask. We were told that they had been busy and they were trying to make the food "stretch". We had booked. I was still hungry so Isuccumbed to the sticky toffee pudding which was good - the small scoop of ice cream could have been more generous though. We won't be returning which is a shame as it is walking distance from where we live.

The Victoria is friendly and welcoming with attentive staff and excellent food. Most pubs in this and surrounding areas require a booking for Sundays otherwise there's a long wait. We arrived without a reservation, late afternoon on a very busy Sunday after being turned away by 3 other less busy pubs nearby. The Victoria was happy to make a plan to accommodate us and, despite being full, with a continual stream of people coming in, provided attentive service without a long waiting time before our meals arrived. The roasts and burgers we ordered were excellent.

Turned up on speck at lunchtime, and friendly staff showed us to our table. Ordered drinks and food which unfortunately though very good, took ages to arrive. Would recommend if you are not in a rush.

The Victoria has a very pleasant atmosphere, good parking and the staff were very nice. We were a party of 16 and they were very friendly. We had ordered in advance and it did still take quite a while for food to come - presumably so we could all order drinks - but I was quite hungry by the time we got food. Mine wasn't piping hot (especially the chips) and it took them a long time to sort out sauces, but they did a good job with food allergies / intolerances which is really important! It's a gastropub, so if you're looking for regular pub food you'll struggle here; it's fish and chips or a burger, or something more fancy. Likewise with the puddings, I felt everything had been made unnecessarily fussy. I thought the puddings were a bit overpriced too (over £7 each). I imagine for a smaller group things would have been much quicker so perhaps the niggles I experienced wouldn't have been a bother, and as the staff were so nice if you like the look of the menu then go for it. If you're not into gastropub, fancy food then seek an alternative because you will struggle to find traditional pub grub here (in fact, it's becoming increasingly difficult in this part of the world!).

SUNDAY LUNCH at 4 o'clock, well we should have booked sooner! But worth the wait.

Very warm welcome by front of house and seated swiftly. Drinks soon followed and then our lunch. Very polite and friendly staff, amazing food and great beer selection. I had the pan fried sea bass and my lady had the pork tomahawk, both cooked to perfection. They also cater for vegans as well as allergic patrons.

Very friendly place with a great pint of Guinness and a well cooked menu. This continues to be a fab place and they really do well in hiring awesome staff. The hake I had today was perfect. They seem to have a genuine care about doing a great job for their customers.
