Outsiders not welcome Went in early evening on a Saturday On arrival the group of owners or family were certainly not very welcoming as they were sat out the front and gave us the eye Quite intimidating and certainly not friendly Maybe if we were Portuguese or Brazilian it would’ve been different

We have visited here a few times now and the staff are always so friendly, it's always a warm atmosphere and the food served is nice and competitively priced. I will visit here again.

What a little gem! Coffee is divine and the food was amazing. I ordered a prawn sandwich and it was fully loaded with prawns. No skimping or being short changed here. Lovely to hear local Italian people meeting up and chatting always a good sign of an authentic eatery. There is outside seating and I could have happily sat all day with a coffee a magazine soaking up the atmosphere. I came back today (Sunday) to take some photos but sadly was closed. Please open up on a Sunday! Will come back again soon.

Only been once, killing time for an afternoon. Was pleasantly surprised - two delicious cappuccino's for £3.80. Excellent.

We went for lunch and had an omelette with bacon and a prego especial with saute potatoes . Both were excellent and the prego was the best i have had outside of Funchal . I must also mention that the whole place was supremely clean , welcoming and i can highly recommend it .Muito obrigado

Great place for a good coffee and bites to eat. With Portuguese cakes, meats and cheeses, If in Aldi across the road a great place to stop for a break, tables outside if the sun is shining too, music makes you feel like you're on holiday again.

Hard to find cafes like this these days. Good quality food, but nothing overly fancy, so not expensive. Staff welcoming and helpful.

I always being my elderly aunt here for the range of food. Great all day breakfast, sandwiches, omelettes and other treats such as chicken escalope, with lovely fruit juices and coffee. Their cakes are absolutely gorgeous, and the family style service is always warm and friendly.

I have visited this cafe several times over the past year. I have always had the sirloin steak in a bap and they have been lovely and good value for money! The staff are friendly too

The staff/owners were very polite & smiley. The length of time to receive my order let the service down. To be fair, the portion sizes were extremely generous, but the quality of ingredients was slightly lacking; consequently I felt overcharged!

A cup of the usual excellent Portuguese coffee and one those little custard tarts make an welcome break for the tired shopper!

In my opinion this cafe is all you need when looking for a quick coffee, cold drink or something to eat. Staff here are really friendly. With seating inside and outside and prices you don't need to get a loan for makes it a great place to chill for a while.

Family atmosphere "Maderian" peaceful cafe with upstairs seating. Go to it every time I go to Chertsey

Lovely staff. A place that makes you feel like in Portugal again. It was a pleasure to order "uma nata nata e um pingo". It's in my list of places to come back.

We recently stayed in the Chertsey Travelodge and came here for breakfast on two days. The food was amazing and nothing was too much for them to do. We sat upstairs and basically had the place to ourselves. Whilst waiting for our food we were able to watch the news on the large TV. The coffee was beautiful and much nicer than that from the national coffee brands We will definitely be back when we next visit.

Very friendly cafe. Nice to sit outside in the sunshine and watch the world go by. Have a coffee, snack, breakfast or lunch, all good and served by the always cheerful ladies.

Stayed the night at the travel lodge on the corner. Popped in for breakfast twenty of us. The staff did exceptionaly well with our order. Very well cooked an very pleasently served. If we are in that area again we will call in for another meal. Thanks for a pleasant meal girls.

Have called in several times in the past for coffee, food looks good but I’ve only ever had coffee. Usually good and quick and friendly but 3 stars only in this review as my black americano today had milk in it and I only realised once I’d left and driven away.

This is a good place for lunch. The staff are welcoming and friendly. All food made to order. A nice home feeling. Right on the high street so is easily accessible.

Try this they are huge, have bacon, cheese and beans. Only £5.10 with a tea and Anna and Michelle are great hostesses.

We eat at the Tia Maria whenever we fancy a light lunch while visiting the shops or bank in Chertsey. Love the toasted sandwiches! Everything is freshly made and nothing is too much trouble.

Lovely little Coffee shop just opposite Aldi's, staff are really friendly, service was quick and the pastires are to die for. A real pleasure to give a local business the trade and not a chain.

A wonderful little cafe where you can get freshly made snacks and meals, also one of the best cappuccinos I have had at a very good price. Their custard tarts are the talk of the town, one of these with a coffee is heaven.

Have been going here since I was around 10 years old, and have always loved their pastries and friendly service. Even worked here for two months before moving towns. Couldn't ask for a better Portuguese cafe with the real family feel.

Best coffee I've had for a very long time.

He revisado el Tia Maria el pasado otoño, y encontrandome en pequeño y encantador de nuevo, no podía Chertsey se resisten a visitar. Que me había olvidado lo buena que son simplemente sandwiches prego precioso. El personal trabajador son acogedores, de hecho hasta alcanzar su máximo fulgor viniendo aquí es un regalo muy especial en todos los sentidos.

Café es increíble. Lugar pequeño pero vale la pena ir por su café portugués. . . Pasteles y tartas bien; Preggo (estilo portugués burger)

They do great coffee for a good reasonable price honestly I don't think you can get it any cheaper anywhere else, the food is great too, it's nice to have non greasy breakfast. The people are lovely and welcoming. Will definitely come back again.

Every week after a session at the gym we come to this cafe for our breakfast. I have to say this is one of the best cafes i have been in for a long time.The staff are always freindly and welcoming. The food is high quality and the cafe is very clean. It is always busy with people coming in and out and alot of regulars. Highly recommended

We went there looking for good Portuguese coffee and a breakfast after a recent visit to Madeira . Our simple cooked breakfast order took half an hour to arrive . The food arrived at a different time to the beverage and the sauce we were offered didn't arrive at all. The room was cold and inhospitable on a cold winters day . The food was average. The staff were pleasant but inefficient. I would have preferred the opposite .We won't return as the experience was not enjoyable .

Wonderful food, prompt excellent service. Right next to the Travelodge. Good quality veg which is rare. I had the sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella which tasted gorgeous. The tomatoes had real zest. Great choice of bread as well. It all looked fresh and my focaccia certainly tasted fresh. Breakfast tomorrow is sorted.
