The Vestry Tea Rooms in Knowsley

Lovely lunch and a warm welcome at this hidden gem just off the high street. I enjoyed the quiche from the specials board and the homemade cakes are a must - we couldn’t resist once we saw them being delivered to another table!! Good atmosphere and definitely worth a visit.

i have visited the Vestry Tea rooms a couple of times now and have found the quality of the menu as well as the service to be excellent. In an age when everyone seems to be trying to do posher and posher "posh grub" it is refreshing to find somewhere that concentrates on delivering a classical menu using quality fresh and, i understand, local produce when available seasonally, food. The setting is spacious and light, another consequence of posh grub seems to be to offer darker, plain brick, settings, where as this place is painted white inside which creates a far nicer ambiance i always think and the feel is very much traditional. Now the best bit, the cakes!! i think the owner of the business also has a cake making business and this shows through because the cakes are lovely! i had a red velvet cake on my first visit and a carrot cake, something i am very partial to but struggle to find one that isnt chunky, and both were lovely. As a vegetarian i found the menu offered a good range but a vegetarian all day breakfast would have been a nice offering to add to the menu.
