Had the Sunday roast. Was excellent. Starters were served fast and they were delicious. The main was a sharing style and portions were very generous. The pork was cooked to perfection. The dessert was lovely too but was very full from the food had previously. All in all an exquisite meal and I will be back this week to try a breakfast Thanks so much for having us

Love this place, usually arrive between 1:30/1:45 after I finish work, a bit disappointed today though, arrived at 1:35 to be told food was finished as they close at 3pm now. Ok finish food at 2pm maybe but 1:35 really, what is being served in the time leading up to 3pm? **Thanks for your reply. I was just told you had stopped serving food because you close at 3pm, no mention of the chef having to leave early so I'm glad I will still be able to eat here as I would really have missed you lovey food 😊**

Diabolical, asked for crispy bacon and sausage on toast. Was served what looked to be boiled bacon and a single warmed up sausage on 2 pieces of sour dough… for the price being paid this is shocking and the quality of food was appalling.

Absolutely stunning in every way... cute rustic design, locally sourced high quality ingredients, amazing baked goods, very friendly staff and a chef that has more passion and care for food preparation than I have ever experienced. On top of all of the above the price of the food is unbelievably fair that creates a place that has an unbeatable value. If you have the opportunity to go here, do not miss your chance... I guarantee you will want to go back and will be telling everyone you know that they need to go here too. I'm so happy I live just around the corner and I have been here atleast once a week since I found this gem.

I have seen this place decline. Once a firm favourite because the menu was so different and the food was lovely. Just recently, (last 6 months) I've noticed that it's grubby. The stairs are always full of dirt, the floors need a good scrub, the pallet style tables allow food down the gaps, which stay there for ages, the chairs are wobbly and unstable, the staff bar one are miserable, especially the young blonde girl with big lashes. One day recently, we were one of 2 tables busy and every other table was piled with dirty dishes. When they clear tables, they don't always wipe them and I can't tell you how many times there's been food on the floor under a 'cleaned' table. I feel like an inconvenience now and I don't feel happy with the standard of cleanliness. This is a shame as the food is lovely (odd issues here and there, but nothing to stop me going back) but there's more to going for food than the standard of the food. They are serving amazingly inventive dishes in dirty surroundings, with a crap speaker playing crap music, no atmosphere and staff who can't even crack a smile. Honestly you can do better, because you have in the past. Your standards have slipped dramatically and it's showing big time. I'd love to see you acknowledge this rather than get defensive. This is constructive feedback on a venue which could be outstanding. I won't be back unless the place gets a good scrub, they fix their leaky loo, the staff slap a smile on their face and you fix your crap furniture.

I’ve been to The Coffee House at Prescot Station for breakfast several times and never had an issue. But today this wasn’t the case, the food wasn’t up to its usual standard, the sausages were dry and the bacon over cooked. When ordering the food I had asked for brown sauce, when the girl brought the food upstairs to the table she acknowledged that she had forgotten the sauce and that she would be right back up with it. After 10 minutes she came back up with some drinks for the table behind me. I asked her was she bringing the sauce? She. Shouted at me “I’ve busy you know” what a disgraceful attitude. She then sent a lad up with the sauce who slammed it onto the table and didn’t say a word. This will be the last time I go to this place for poorly cooked food and terrible customer service.

I regularly go for a brunch here & you cannot fault the tasty reasonably priced options, but their monthly themed nights are on another level. Stunning food, nice rustic setting, I can't rate this place any more highly, and wholeheartedly recommend it. I can't wait for the longer opening hours and bistro nights ! Update: Saturday nights now bring us global themed food nights, with spectacular menus based on a locale, such as Texas themed, British menu (through the ages, from paleolithic to the Victorian era), and Smoke and Fire (with BBQ classics). We've done Valentine's meals, Christmas dinner, family roasts, you really can't go wrong ! If you missed the South Carolina night, you missed a real feast ! Update November 2023: Still amazing Update March 2024: Still winning multiple awards, what are you waiting for ? Update May 2024: Three (?) special themed nights since my last update, food still amazing, but sometimes there's just too much food - previous two evenings were perfect, tonight's was just huge - 8 courses, and I skipped the last three completely (although I did help my wife with a couple of earlier courses).

The food + the quirky location were great - I would have given 4-5 stars for them, however the atmosphere was awful - I feel they need a good extractor fan - the air appeared to be a little smoky on entering, and there was a smell of cooking fat. We sat upstairs, but when we left we smelt like we had been sat next to a fryer, our clothes + hair had obviously absorbed the smell. I hope this was a one off, as it did significantly colour the experience + reduce the star rating.

Been hearing good things about this little place so decided to try and I'm glad I did. Ordered the station breakfast and it was a top quality breakfast. Every item was cooked perfect and tasted amazing. The eggs Benedict with ham hock was also top class . The ham wasn't salty and flaked apart tender. And the coffee was freshly ground and tasted so fresh and tasty . The hot chocolate was not too sweet and didn't taste artificial just super creamy and comfy. The caramel and apple cake was amazing also. Try this place out and support you local business as worth every penny. Ps took a sausage roll for after and it was the best one around, if you remember rays the baker sausage rolls well very similar but bigger and meatier and not as salty . Boss with brown sauce.

She refused to accept the apple juice was off. She then proceeded to test the orange juice and inform me it was good. I told her she was tasting the wrong juice and she proceeded to stare at me. I repeated myself. When I asked her if she was listening - she aggressively informed me she would not be spoken to like that. The other lady had to calm her down and intervene. She gave me a different apple juice which was fine. So.. service isn't great. Food wise - My fried egg were over cooked but poached eggs were done well. Portions were small. But prices are fair. Coffee was good. Pity the poor service.

I went for the first time to one of the theme evenings recently, my goodness it was excellent! Six courses for £40 per person was fantastic value for money. Each course was beautifully presented and was so tasty. The atmosphere was great and the family really looked after us. The Mongolian theme was unusual and we loved trying all the dishes. Big portions though for a 6 course meal, we certainly couldn’t manage all the steak for the main course despite it being so tender and tasty. Last week we made a telephone booking for an afternoon tea. On arriving at the cafe this afternoon we were initially told there was no booking! Then rechecking the diary found the reservation. Apologies given and advised that there would be a wait while it was prepared. This wasn’t too much of a problem time wise (due to train cancellations) our return train was going to be after 4pm. We were brought two cups of tea ( cup of water with tea bag) rather than the pot of tea. When the hamper arrived it had a very nice selection of sandwiches and savouries plus two pots of relish. The star item was the Scotch Egg. One of the nicest I have tasted. We were offered another drink, but we asked if we could have a coffee later when we were ready for the scones and jam. Unfortunately the cream was from a can and had turned to liquid by the time we came to use it. The server was very pleasant and attentive. Back at home I looked up the description for the afternoon tea, it stated a pot of tea or coffee. Subsequently we were charged additionally for both the cups of tea and coffee.

Had breakfast here today. Lovely building really liked the decor and the outside area is lovely and it would be great sitting out there in the sunshine. Nice friendly staff, they keep one of the two tables downstairs reserved for anyone with mobility problems which...

They should be ashamed, complete rip off...ordered a whisky soda, a gin and tonic and packet of crisps and they took £19 from me. Dont know where they think they are to be charging these prices. Loud, unfriendly, grubby venue, avoid, so many better places to go

I'm not comming to Costa often, maybe twice a year, but I'm not happy about my recent visit. Coffee and food as you would expect from Costa, but staff completely incompetent to work under pressure, remember orders or multitask, which is quite sad for such a nice place. 4 girls stressing around, spilling coffeys on the desk, customers waiting ages for their coffee as 4 girls cannot manage even 2 customers at the same time and can't remember an order for more than 10 seconds. I have been asked 3 times what I ordered even 10 minutes after I paid and that was just a croissant, lemon cake and late, three customers came after me been served before me, nothing for my level of patience. No smile, no politeness, no sorry, just stressed faces. Cannot recommend, otherwise the place is nice and clean.

A day off work and my twin brother and I were meeting up with friends in The Premier Pub in Kirkby Town Centre, this was our first visit of 2024 ,we went on the 22rd of January and I must say we had a great time. It's a proper little locals pub ,interior is nice ,an island style serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings, pool table and big screens to enjoy the sport plus plenty of seating options, it's a good pub to unwind in. We stayed on pints of Carling lager and pints of guinness, it was good having a catch up with friends over a good few pints ,loved my visit here ,its got to be the friendliest pub in Kirkby. We stayed here for a good few hours before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Premier Pub is easy to locate on Market Square in Kirkby Town Centre. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 11am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

After having a great day out with family and friends we jumped the train back from Liverpool City Centre to Kirkby were we ended our day out in The Railway Pub. A really good pub ,multi roomed ,island style serving bar ,big screens to enjoy the sport ,pubby decor and furnishings and lots of seating options both inside and outside in the beer garden. We were here on a Friday night ,pub was busy with a great atmosphere ,I stayed on pints of Carling beer ,served freezing cold and sparkling ,I chilled out and went over the great day out in our beautiful city. Beer served in here was spot on ,not my normal tipple but it was really good ,stayed on it till closing time ,had a really good time in here as always . The Railway Pub is easy to locate along Glovers Brow by Kirkby Railway Station. Monday to Sunday, midday till midnight. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
