Only second time we have called in since the new tenants/managers have taken over. Vast improvement.

Not only the worst Sunday dinner but the worst meal I've ever been served. Yorkshire pudding soggy and swimming in grease and under cooked. Some veg was just mush,the cauliflower was literally raw same as the carrots. The meat was stone cold and the condiments were out of date. Literally the worst food I've ever encountered. We had 3 adult and 3 kids Sunday dinners and over 90% of them was left. The chef said they've had nothing but good reviews 🤷 and today's dinner state was because she was on her own. Could understand if they were busy but there was only us in the entire pub for food 🤦 wouldn't eat here ever again.

Visited The Upton Arms for Sunday lunch and was warmly greeted by the landlady and the staff. Food was top notch, piping hot and delicious. Staff was welcoming and punctual and did everything they could to ensure we had the best experience. Also tried the chocolate sponge with custard which was an excellent ending to a fantastic dinner. All in all a great meal and brilliant service. Would highly recommend and without a doubt a place I will be revisiting in the near future!

Can't speak to the rooms. Simply popped in for a quick beer with my son. Friendly helpful, pleasant staff. Not too busy. Customers pleasant. Fair selection of drinks.Floor clean, tables clean, language clean. Parking outside. Tables outside frontage/beer garden at side as well. Nice old building. Recommended.

Came into the Upton arms today for the first time in ages as I heard there was a new manager. Such a better atmosphere and so friendly. Just what we need in our village. Well done Tony!!!!

Came over from Beverley to see my best friend Bernadette, atmosphere was amazing, children were told to sit down all left at 8pm. Very clean would definitely recommend.

There was a very good friendly atmosphere on arrival The bar people and waitresses could not do enough you asked a question about and they menu There didn't know the answer but they didn't leave it They went and got chef he explained and answer all our questions the portions were brilliant really good food We'll definitely going back again

Came here for an engagement party,great night,lovely staff,even had room for our coach on the carpark lol

Only downside got tablespoons/dessert spoon for a sundae - in a sundae glass, making it difficult to access the bottom of dessert. Otherwise great

Nice friendly staff but Sunday carvery left a lot to be desired and not cheapest ! Won't return.

2 meals were ok the steak and ale pies we're very poor. you got a overdone not homemade as we were told pie some mash and a few peas £10.99

It was OK but people that I as with had something to at and the next day they were ill

Called in for tea and wasn’t disappointed. I had the all day brekkie and the wife had the meatball pasta. Both meal were amazing and really good size portions. Plenty of choice on menu too. Definitely be back again for more!

My first visit since new ownership and I was very impressed. Very clean, tidy and the staff were very friendly. The drinks were well priced and well kept. I will certainly be returning..

First time I'd visited this pub, first time visiting Upton. Lovely lass behind the bar was very welcoming and ill be sure to return.

Good food. Friendly service. Clean. Not overcrowded with tables. Ample parking. Overall, really enjoyable experience. Will be going again.

Food was bland, chairs need upgrading as could feel the frame under my legs, friendly welcoming staff

normally ok but chef puts over cooked crumbs of meat on the customers dishes then leaves the juicy cuts later for staff, appauling behaviour...

Exerlant sunday lunch very clean tidy. Although furniture could do with replacing. Staff very good and attentive. He has done well to survive over covid

Tom put on a very nice hot buffet of beef, turkey, chips, onion rings and a cold buffet to compliment it. Was a sad occasion but all enjoyed the food and service, thanks again and good value for money.

Lovely pub and fab pub food, one of the nicest carvery around, loads of fresh veg choice and lovely meat.

Sadly I was very disappointed. This was a pre booked meal we had to choose our order in advance and I was pleased to see a vegan option on the menu. When we arrived we had also pre warned them that one member of the group was ill and could not attend. When they brought out the starters they had one for our friend and the response was “we cancelled the main but not the starter”. When my vegan meal arrived it had a Yorkshire pudding on it. I queried this and was told it was vegan. I said are you sure and he went to check and cake back and said everything was vegan except the Yorkshire pudding!!! The meal was also fully plated which I think was a shame and the veg could have been served in dishes, was a shame as small local pub and the fact they were offering a vegan option was great ( the vegan chocolate cake was lovely).

Comfortable seating area just a little away from the bar, we were served quickly generous helpings of hot wholesome food, liver and onions, braised steak and hunters chicken at reasonable price. Unfortunately got a little loud with patrons gathering for a night out but otherwise a very pleasant experience .

This is a village pub of long standing and your introduction is a very large bar area with lots of seating, wall mounted TV and a pool table. There is a breakfast / dining room but most eat in the bar. The food is very reasonably priced good pub grub. We soent the night in the 'New York' suite which was actually very nice, well decorated and had a massive double bed which was comfortable. There is plenty of parking space which is well lit and covered by CCTV. The hosts are clearly proud of their achievements and with good reason. Our room was £60 per night which, I thought was value for money so well done. One slight negative, only one flimsy loo roll.All the same, I would use this place again.

Great value for money came with he family the food was good all enjoyed only thing few of the vegetables were a little mushy and over cooked but overall very good. Focus on the odd things on the food such as the veg and your golden. L.

We have had both Sunday and Wednesday carvery at the Upton arms. You are made welcome as soon as you enter. Good selection of drinks reasonably priced. Excellent food and service. I recommend the Upton arms for couples or families. Last Sunday there was great entertainment too.

Very warm and friendly welcome. Room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. Had a very good night's sleep. Adequate toiletries in the bathroom and abundant tea and coffee etc on room tray.multiple with usb sockets for charging phone etc. Hairdryer, with an iron and ironing board just outside the room.We had dinner in the bar in the evening , it was delicious and very reasonable. I had chicken balti and my husband had a burger so big he could hardly finish it.Breakfast served at the time you asked was fabulous. Perfectly cooked and served.Highly recommended

I’ve passed this place many times and always thought wonder if nice got to try it today few friends said shall we try it very friendly staff beautiful food it’s homemade no frozen rubbish here the price was just has good has the food will definitely go back well done I’ve been to lots of food places and got sick of frozen food all seem to sell same stuff but who would have thought a little gem in Upton

Staff can’t do enough for you, very welcoming. Room clean and comfortable. Food very good with a great breakfast. Good value for money, would recommend.

Came here for a friends 18th birthday - nice little atmosphere, few talkative regulars, bar staff were good, prices not too bad. A shed load of parking which was good for those of us unfortunate enough to be an ‘allocated driver’ :( Would definitely come back for a pint or two alongside some pool.

Had my daughters 21st party in a private room here. Everyone enjoyed the night. Lovely buffet, reasonably priced drinks, thanks to all staff for looking after us.

Called in at lunchtime during the heatwave for some food whilst out house hunting.Friendly staff, nice outside area and good value food, sweet & sour chicken and fish pie both went down really well for £15.If back in the village we would certainly call again.

Wednesday night carvery was very good at only £6

We stayed at the Upton last night for bed and breakfast as our friends were getting married nearby. The London room was lovely and clean with a good size en-suite. The shower was good with plenty of hot water and easy to operate. The bed and pillows were very comfy, if fact I slept better than I do at home.

We’ve Moved into the village recently. Lovely little pub. Barmaid is always happy and remembers you. Food is lovely and the staff are very attentive. This is becoming our regular.

2 curries for £10 on Thursday, staff are always very friendly and helpful, not high cuisine but very appropriate and enjoyable

Omg, absolutely lovely food, not going to break the bank. We went out as a couple but would be happy to take all family. The staff were helpful and polite, warm welcoming staff, best Sunday meal out.

My wife and I stayed overnight in the London room, comfortable bed, very clean and large bathroom with shower, looked recently refurbished.

Nice little hotel, stayed for 2 nights, spacious bathroom and good shower. Staff very helpful and friendly.

The buffet, staff, and welcome were second to non. Words cant begin to say how pleased we all were The Upton Arms is just a fantastic place for a gathering

Popped in for quick lunch and to check out our potential new local. Greeted by lovely friendly lady on bar. First impressions very good clean, nice decor, child friendly even had some toys for the younger ones. Food very cheap hot and good a portion. Only little snag heating could do with been put on for a while before customers come in. Shall be returning very soon.

Thank you for a lovely stay at the Upton Arms. We had such a comfortable night's sleep I wanted to steal the mattress! The rooms was cosy and very clean, with tv, hot shower and tea/coffee making facilities. When we arrived late Friday night we were cheerily greeted by the bar man, the landlord Phil and a jovial huddle of locals. Phil is really keen to make this a real ale hub offering something above what is on offer in the rest of the village, with four ales to choose from it had to be the guest Castle Rock's Elsie Mo for me. It was such a well kept an delicious pint before I knew it I'd drank four and we were chatting into the early hours. This is a modern estate pub with a difference, Phil and his wife are bring back the true essence of the pub, great value home cooked food, ales, family atmosphere and events. We will be returning with our camper van in the summer! Thank you.

When on a sunday dinner without booking but they managed to fit us in very pleasant staff good choice of meats and plenty of fresh vegetables will return

I chose this place for all my family to come to after my mums funeral as its a local to where my mum went to yrs ago, so I thought it would be nice to all gather there, the pub itself is lovely and modern very clean and spacious so I've nothing bad to say about that, I approached the owners by a phone call to see if it was ok to have a bit of food on n I can say they were very helpful and also they allowed me to fetch my own cakes too which I thought was nice, the lady who was serving drinks was very friendly and nice, I just thought the man was miserable who worked there, he wasn't at all friendly and to me he sempt to be put out with the tidying up and more work he had to do, I don't normally write reviews but I feel like I had to on this note, so my advice to the man would be "smile a bit more" it's not that hard.

Went to the Upton Arms f tea and the quality of the home cooked food is very good. Staff are friendly, we sat outside and ate as it was a lovely sunny evening the beer garden is open to the main road with a wall around but not very private, but this didn't bother us would definitely go again

Been here twice now the first time was the Sunday carvery which was delicious then went again with a group of women one afternoon that was also nice if I had a complaint it was the jam rol poly pudding was baked not steamed as we were expecting so non of us will be having that again but the rest of the puddings was fine

Eaten at the Upton arms on numerous occasions without the family, Phil and Jane make sure that everyone has a good time whilst visiting, nothing is too much trouble, the food is really good, at a good price, it's we'll worth a trip to have a drink and a meal there, very pleasant experience, go and enjoy.

Went to Uptons Arms for lunch with family on recommendations and can only say how pleased I was. Food was home made and very reasonably priced with good service. Will be returning soon.

Stayed overnight as visiting family. The staff were lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The evening meal was home cooked, hot and lovely. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable and catered for all our needs. Highlight was meeting Sophie the pub dog who helped me with my breakfast. Would definitely stay again and look forward to our next booking.

I was disappointed on arriving. The car park and entrance was full of litter and advertising boards were propped up back to front in corners. The inside off the pub was ok. A bit tired looking but I didn't mind that. What I did mind was the speed off service. The starters took 18 minutes to arrive and the mains 20 more. When the garlic bread arrived it was toasted only on one side. The soup was delicious despite trading like a can of a well known brand which I didn't mind. The main course however had chips that were cold and limp and just like some from a bad chip shop and the tomato was shrivelled. To be fair the rest was nice and the desserts were delicious. The one thing that really infuriated me was when asking for a bar/meal tab. When I have done this at other venues they scan it and return it. Here I was told my card would have to be kept behind the till. Now I am not saying I don't trust anyone but it was just the principle of the thing. It is a well known fact that if you eat out you should keep your payment card in sight and so if other venues can do it why can this one not?

Had a pub meal here and it was brilliant and all the staff was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us because we had our baby boy eating as well, very welcoming and great food at a good price!!! Highly recommend!!!

My wife and I called in to the Arms along with our 2 grandcildren on Sunday 20 March. We all had the carvery and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Several meats to choose from along with a very good variety of vegetables. We were completely full, but the kids had room for a sweet. Again a good variety of sweets on offer. A really enjoyable meal at a very fair price. On Wednesday my wife and I visited again. We had the retired persons 'Special Deal' which was a carvery and a sweet all for £6.00 each. Again the food was very good. The owners have been in for approximately 12 months and along with the staff they are very friendly people.

We have just moved into the are so decided to pop down for Sunday Lunch.

Family of 11 visited for pub lunch on xmas eve. Didn't expect much to be honest - but had a really great experience. Chicken and leek pie, steak and ale pie, scampi, chicken nuggets for the kids were all very tasty and good quality. Everything (including the fresh cut chips) was clearly home made by someone who cared - and not the deep fried frozen version of pub grub we were probably expecting. £6.50 per main (£3.50 for kids) represented great value. Nice beer too. The pub itself is well presented and they had one huge table which worked perfectly for our group.
