Popped in for a drink before my wedding, very welcoming atmosphere.

City centre pub with a local village pub atmosphere. Visited at the weekend so I have no idea about week days. Lively with karaoke and a few characters to boot. Not a dress up place but a down to earth experience with great service and a fine selection of beers.

Went on Friday night around 9am (4 of us). Asked the lady at the door if we could come in. She looked surprised like we'd walked up to her house asking to come in. She finally around and asked the other door man if they were allowing any more in and his response was 'f###ing h#ll!' as if he was a teenager who had been told he couldn't go out until he tidied his room. We didn't even wait for him to come back. We just went somewhere else. Shakey Wakey indeed

You want a laugh, go to the Talbot. Especially for the early drinkers (even Justine has a screw loose lol). Top ale aswell as cheap. Thumbs up from me 👍🏻

This pub is now the best in Wakefield, the landlady is lovely and friendly and always makes you feel welcome and if you're a regular there your drink will be on the bar by the time you get to it

Went in for first time, not a bad place karaoke was on and had a laugh, not over busy which surprised me as a Friday night

I always enjoy it in here. If you like a pub where it is anything goes karaoke then this pub is for you. Very much a spit and sawdust environment but that is part of the charm. A place where you can really people watch is there is every kind of person in there. So always amusing and karaoke 7 nights a week.

This is a popular old style back to bare bones pub. It's friendly unpretentious and has popular karioke nights beer is well kept atmosphere is very colourful x 😂

The worst experience of going to the toilet. Because the gents were flooded they were using the ladies. The one toilet had loo paper all over the seat. The other one no seat at all. They need a good clean as does the whole of the pub. It's a shame because it used to be a good night out. We will not be going back any time soon.

Just called for drinks after eating out. What an experience. The karaoke was very popular with the regulars, I don't think non-regulars would have been welcome to sing. The atmosphere was scary. Full of very unusual characters. Won't go again

Good atmosphere decent pint worth a visit

This is a small old fashioned pub. Cheap prices and Karaoke most nights. It's not trendy but it is fun. The patrons are mainly "well over 25!" so no kids pub. Because of this any pressure of posing kids trying to pull isn't there, due to this the atmosphere is much more relaxed.

I do like it in the Talbot as I love doing karaoke but me and my partner came in on Saturday night and I got spiked and I changed from a loving guy to a monster I don't know we will be back but drinking bottles from now on sorry had to be said x

Super pub bar staff are brilliant and so are the owners always have smiles on their face. Very friendly and alway have a laugh and joke with them. I drink fosters my self and if I'm honest I've never had a pint as nice as it is from the Talbot and Falcon their brakefasts are amazing I'd go as far as saying they are the best in Wakefield. Rooms are very clean and tidy and look welcoming. I would personally say this pub is the best in the Wakefield and surrounding areas.

This town centre pub is a great place to visit and relax with friends...the landlord caters for everyone and you are made very welcome from your first hello...the breakfasts are to die for. Karaoke on every night and don't worry if you aren't very good, I'm not but still get up and have a go...dominoe knockout every Wednesday and Sunday from 2 with free food on the bar, £100. For winners. Everyone has a great time. Give it a go you won't be disappointed

Okay, so it's not everyone's cup of tea, or pot of beer, but there is something about this place. Yes it has had a reputation in the past, but now it's friendly and keeps a decent pint. Love the karaoke too, the regulars seem genuinely appreciative, even though I can't sing!
