Had the best wedding reception at Unity Hall on 1st June 2024. Shellie was amazing from beginning to end, nothing was too much trouble, she went out of her way to make our celebration special & unique. Cannot thank her & the bar staff enough.

Our amazing wedding at unity hall We got married at unity hall in march and the venue was just perfect for what we wanted. Here are some of the reasons we loved it so much: - The venue is really affordable compared to other wedding venues in wakefield. It was a set price for the room and any extras were optional. There were no additional costs for getting married on a weekend which a lot of the venues can charge extra for. - The venue can fit a lot of people, we had 130 guests and there was extra room. There was no limit on the amount of guests unlike other venues. - Shellie went out of her way to make sure our day was perfect, she put so much effort into helping set up the room and making sure everything ran smoothly. Shellie was really knowledgeable, she recommended a DJ, light tech, caterer and wedding hire company, we chose to use them but she was not pushy about using them and you could definitely use your own. We were able to request preferred drinks for behind the bar through shellie and she allowed us to use the kitchen to set up the cakes etc. Shellie also helped us with hiring a lovely wedding car as she works with a local car garage. She was just amazing. - Everything was in one room, we loved that the room was able to host our ceremony, meal and evening do, it meant everyone was together for the whole day and no moving between places. -The room is fully customisable. You can do as much or as little as you want. There is a service entrance and a lift for bringing everything in so we were able to really go to town with decorating the room. Shellie gave us access for the full day before so we could set up. (The lift was also great for guests who needed this on the day) - There is a huge stage for live music. We had a band in the evening and as the venue is set up for music the band were able to set up and preform on stage. The sound was amazing and the guests had a great time because of this. -The location is perfect, lots of parking, a 4 minute walk to the train station and several hotels nearby. If you're considering unity hall for your wedding or event then we would definitely recommend it!!

Great venue. Perfect location for Westgate train station and also plenty of pay and display car parking close by. Communications from the staff was excellent; professional and friendly. Conference room used had good acoustics and was set up as requested. Catering was excellent. Cost of the venue and added extras was considered good value for money. Would definitely book again.

Unity Hall and Business Space Limited, located on Westgate in Wakefield, consists of over 20 offices spaces, 5 conferences rooms and 2 hall spaces available for rent. The listed building is home to various high-profile events in Wakefield. Formally Unity Works now renamed, Unity Hall and Business Space Limited, is headed up by entrepreneur Rob Green. The company is looking to guarantee the future for the 23 businesses currently operating out of the Westgate venue and attract more conferences to the location which was renovated to reflect its 19th century heritage in 2013. Unity House wins because there is nowhere quite like it in the city, It offers banqueting, conference, live events and hospitality as well as office space to numerous business.

Unity hall is a great venue. I have been for all kinds of events from charity dinners to business awards. The last event I went to at Unity was the Wakefield beer festival. The event was really well laid out and made use of the 2 main rooms. The larger of the 2 rooms though can get very hot if it is hot outside, it was getting to the point where people were leaving just due to the heat. Also parking directly at the back on Smythe street is free after 6pm and pretty cheap before hand. You can also pay by phone which is handy. There is another car park across the street which is significantly more expensive.

The week before I had got in contact and not one of staff knew what they needed to do, the week after I when back only to be informed that I should of been refunded the week before and now it was too late. After some argument I finally got my money back.... it wasn't expensive but its the principal of it.

This place opened in 2014, but the whole company went into liquidation in September 2017. When it opened, I personally gave it five years, I was wrong, it lasted only three. The beers were warm, not of good quality, they were not given time to rest in the barrels to settle. The staff were clueless in the handling of the product, not their own fault, but the 'management' who would not invest in training. (there is more to working in a pub than pulling pints) Several financial issues with the running of this, and many people who invested in the whole concept have been left bitterly disappointed and have financial losses. Not surprised that HMRC and other agencies are showing great interest in its 'problems'
