More expensive than other places in town. Had to move to the lower bar after being ignored for 5 mins despite staff pulling pints in front me and no sign saying they didn't serve in that area

Decent range of beers and nice staff. It can get a bit loud inside sometimes, but there's a beer garden.

One of the best Pubs on Westgate, with a massive selection of drinks. Always been made to feel very welcome from the Staff. This Pub has a lot to offer for every type of visitor if your looking for a night with good live music it is here or if you want a to chill on your own the Pubs large patio gives you that option too. Keep up the good work Black Horse!!

Well I feel the need to write this review as my family and myself came to your Xmas brunch yesterday afternoon and it was a massive disappointment. No baguettes left? So couldn’t have those. My sister had no food as there wasn’t anything else she fancied. When my food came I couldn’t believe what I’d been given. Dried up fries and cold, tasteless chicken. I wouldn’t give it to the dog! It was just like left overs from a party the night before 🤢 Had to ask constantly for drinks which were not proper measures. Didn’t eat our food. To say too it was £29.99 per person was a joke! Never go again not even for a drink. Shocking and a complete rip off! No Christmas atmosphere either like background music.

Had a lovely late brunch last night, the food was great and the drinks were flowing with a great choice. Jess worked her socks off looking after everyone and keeping us entertained with a smile. Great atmosphere and hospitality

Must have been an off night when we went for bottomless brunch. Food over cooked and hard and service non existent. We had to go and pay at the bar for drinks. I've been to alot of bottomless brunches and this was the worst. Never again

The atmosphere was pretty good, but the tables are so sricky i dread to think the state of the kitchen.

Don't know about the food as I didn't have any though I did smell something really nice! Great pub, get in it and support the local licensed trade!

Me and my friend booked the bottomless brunch for last Saturday the 30th September. We had a really good time we don’t go out much these days lol 😂. The staff were lovely and the drinks kept flowing we didn’t even need to ask. Lovely little pub and good food felt very welcome. We would definitely 💯 go again and recommend to friends and family. Brilliant pub. Great food and lots of choice. Big selection on drinks too. Great service with the biggest and best beer garden in town. Lots of live entertainment too.

We came to the Black Horse for bottomless brunch as part of a hen do. Our waitress Chelsea was absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We had 14 people and she was so good at making sure we always had a drink. The loaded fries portions were a bit small so would recommend a pizza if you're doing bottomless brunch!

Excellent pub, the pizzas are some of the nicest i've had out of a pub!

Fab brunch here! Drinks were lovely, food was really good but maybe a little bit tooo salty. Jessie served us and she was so attentive. She was always checking in and we were regularly getting more drinks. Great value for menu, good vibes, sport on the TV and a fun environment.

Went in a while ago to watch football & have a few drinks, was busy but managed to get a table, was asked around 15 mins later to move by bar staff so other people could have the table to watch football. (The table was not reserved) I don't think staff measure alcohol in drinks either as 3 of the same drinks were very inconsistent in alcohol, colour and taste, service was very slow despite bar being pretty empty & staff seemed uninterested

Fabulous choice of pizzas, dirty fries etc Loads of cocktails offered - they never leave your glass empty! Always asking to refill them, and they’re so tasty! Definitely would return and do it again. Amazing live singer

Saturday 15th Oct I had a retirement party at The Black horse with forty plus people in their ‘snug’ which was a private access for the duration. All my guests had a great time, the food was great and plentiful, the hospitality and service was great and Amii the manager for the day was superb in looking after us. I have never been to a bad function at The Black Horse and would recommend it to anyone.

Went for brunch with a group of friends, the food was great and our server Ellie was rapid with the drink refills! The Bar Manager Matt was really helpful and professional as well. Great night!

Called in during the day a few Saturdays back for some drinks. I got a pint and my partner took advantage of their 2 for 1 cocktail deal which was great value, especially given how strong they were! Sat outside where there was a live DJ and lots of folk enjoying food and their bottomless brunch deal. It really wasn't our vibe so we only stayed for one but the staff were super friendly and made us feel really welcome. Definitely a great place to grab a drink if you like dance and pop music, especially in their beergarden!

I only visit places who have live music and the Black Horse is the best. Great owner, manageress and staff and their food is tasty alongside excellent service- I love this place ❤️

We were in a party of 21 for a birthday party. Most will of enjoyed the experience but for us it was not a good experience. If you like vodka, gin, couple of cocktails coir or bud you are well catered for for us who drink real ale or wine it is an added expense onto the already paid £30.00. As for food we both got 2 slices of pizza, a spoonful of nachos. It was a family birthday. The staff were amazing. Hence 2 stars. Very disappointing and a waste of money unless you want to get plastered.

Amazing bottomless brunch with friends! We were well looked after by Caris, she was amazing and a really good laugh. She was happy to get us any drinks we needed and was so sweet!! Thank you Caris. We visited the black bull on a Saturday evening for a bottomless brunch for the two of us and weren’t disappointed! Food was to die for, made by the chefs Sue & Libby and the drinks kept flowing constantly provided by the host Jessie and Caris behind the bar! Will visit again, thanks a lot!

Rubbish! Didn’t even get to finish our last drink. It was 9pm. Turned off music and started to ignore us. Was having a quiet drink with a friend and was left feeling really uncomfortable. Will never go back

I booked bottomless brunch for me and my three daughters we got there they sat us inside then they came and put us outside it was so cold and if I'd of known we would be put in the shade and to be cold id of never of booked. The cocktails advertised at booking weren't what we was offered they were some green attempt at a cocktail that was basically all fresh orange, the prosecco was cheap tasting and the lemonade flat. The food was edible. People outside smoking near us none of us smoke, then more people wassmoking but it wasn't cigarettes well not legal ones! The girl looking after our table was rushing about she didn't know what table had ordered what could tell she was rushed off her feet. We mentioned all of this to the girl who came to take our payment about all the above issues and her rude response was "well its not my fault they have overbooked" which I felt was inconsiderate and rude! Not worth £29.99 far from it!

The bottomless brunch was 10/10! The atmosphere was great and the beer garden was sheltered from the elements! Went to Bottomless brunch here last week and first place where its not actually bottomless at all and they forced us to pay an extra 10 for it when we were halfway through before threatening and being aggressive to us. Will never come back here again, worse place i have been to in many years

Advertised on their Facebook page that tables were walk in and only food required a booking. Upon arriving we were told by the doorman that they were fully booked and not to bother coming back until next February! Thanks for that, I'll not bother coming back at all. This used to be a pleasant establishment on Westgate but now seems to be staffed by rude doorman who show nothing but contempt for customers, and all this after the lockdown when we are trying to support our pubs. Disgraceful behaviour.

This place is disgusting! Sick on the floor! Left glassware and drinks everywhere and rude unhelpful staff. Do not bother!

They advertise 90 mins for the bottomless. We booked 2-3.30. First drink at 2.10. Refused service of drinks from 3.15. So 65 mins which is a big difference. You aren’t told about this on booking or arrival. Half the tables were complaining. Management staff were rude and argued the toss about having to clean down etc between bookings. The cleaning time should not be deducted from a slot people have paid for, it should be built in between booking times so the customer doesn’t miss out.We have done a range of different bottomless brunches and this was the worst.

Booked brunch for four of us Friday teatime. Good social distancing (if this is a worry for you) and very clean. The brunch was amazing. Nachos, Pizza and Garlic Bread was delicious. Choice of cocktails, Prosecco or Bottled Beer. Fantastic drinks and always passing to see if you’d like another one. Thank you Ellie for looking after us so well. We had a blast

Need to do something about the guy with the beard at entrance, couldn't see a dress code advertised, sent 2 key workers off to the Elephant and Castle. We've been working through all this pandemic and couldn't get a drink here. Asked the guys at Elephant , they said Black Horse shouldn't have a dress code as it's classed as a pub.We are regular customers aswell.

Came for bottomless brunch on a Sunday afternoon, amazing value for money! As much pizza and cocktails/bottled beer as you like for 90 minutes. Staff were attentive and very welcoming, Shauna really looked after us and made sure our pizza and drinks were always topped up! This is a pub with so much potential and over the years it’s taken a lot of attempts to get it going. This pub has had a great refurb and should be a huge hit, it won’t be if they continue staffing the place with barmaids like I had the misfortune of being served by. No eye contact, no smile and no thank you. Just awful

We went in a group for the Brunch on Saturday and we were disappointed, the service was very slow 10-15 minute waits for drinks in between asking for more Drinks and food . The two thin Pizza''s between 8 didn't last long as we were not allowed more than 2 at one time. The Food was good but to advertise as all you can eat and drink is fine if you can get it. Won't be rushing back.

Do yourself a favor and give this a swerve, badly organized, poor service & the staff are obviously instructed to use stalling tactics so you don’t get many drinks
