Really tasty latte's and good food set in a cozy atmosphere. A new favourite for me. ☕🥓🍳🍴 Did I mention the staff are wonderful too? 👀. 💯%👍

Enjoyed my first visit to the Well. Looked like everyone else did too. Had a friendly atmosphere and the sweet stuff was excellent. Good deal if you just want a hot drink and cake.

Having been several times , we decided to bring some friends for breakfast after parkrun today. We ordered , and went upstairs to our table. After 40 minutes wait I asked the young lad serving if he could find out where our breakfasts were ? He told me he had something else he was doing, and was quite abrupt with his attitude. I decided to go myself, and was told that they were very busy and there were lots of orders(we were not told this when we ordered , or we would have gone somewhere else) On returning to our table the young lad then proceeded to argue with me , telling us "we were not his priority! " And was incredibly rude to us all. At this point we left , after demanding a refund . We will not be back , and you lost over £65 worth of business. Your staff need training, and your communication needs addressing.

Decided to come here for breakfast as we had a free morning off work. Been here a long time ago and thought we would try it this morning. It really was lovely. Lovely setting and beautiful food.

Excellent brunch and good coffee.

We arrived at 1140 and asked for a child’s breakfast Jacket Potato & panini.They only able to serve the breakfast not the other until 1200.its only 20 mins you have lost money just for 20 mins.Also the cafe was very quite

We love our outings for lunch here . The latte with sugar free vanilla is amazing the food is fresh made ,lots to choose from and any requests are met .The staff are very polight and friendly and work very hard to keep the place spotless clean . By the way the pudding counter looked very nice but we were too full to try any .so I guess another call in needed lol

Nice handy place to eat Breakfast in the heart of a Small Market Town. Friendly host, and Seating Area to Ground and Upper Level, with option also to sit outside, weather permitting.

We regularly pop in for a drink and a bite to eat. The staff are friendly, the café is very clean with ample seating both downstairs and upstairs. There is a varied menu and a daily specials board.

Still as good as last time, coffee and cake for me, omelette for my wife with a hot chocolate.

Unfortunately myself and my daughter were both ill after eating here and will not be returning unfortunately

Call in with my daughter for coffee, cakes and breakfast, it’s always a great atmosphere and the drinks and food are fantastic, the eggs Benedict were amazing ! Super friendly staff and I’d recommend to everyone 👍👍👍

Very good level of customer service and presentation of menu items. I had a full english, with tea and extra toast. Asked for marg on toast as lactose intolerance and poached eggs. Breakfast was thoroughly cooked, bacon was slightly tough, however still enjoyable. Whilst the service and food were good, the prices could be better reflected on both the menu and level of service. Would recommend, however I feel other cafes in Ossett are more value for money.

Amazing lunch - Club sandwich was delicious and the Chips & Gravy special is worth a try.

Best BLT sandwich ever, nipped across for a late lunch just before they closed. Top chef, highly recommended, definately going again!

Great breakfast menu. I chose poached eggs on seeded whole meal toast. Perfect poached eggs. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be back 😊

What a gem of a place ,the little well breakfeast was excellent ,really enjoyed ,Grandaughter had egg /beans on toast loved it . All 3 of us will return and try the lunch menu .

We had two breakfasts here and the quality was outstanding. The food was cooked just right and you could taste the quality of the food. You get what you pay for here, it’s not the cheapest place to eat and you don’t get the most food, BUT you do get perfect quality food and good coffee.

Having previously enjoyed this establishment, me, my wife and son decided to try it under the new management. Things did not get off to a good start when despite going in two hours before the closing time we were told “were shutting soon” and really made us feel we were not welcome. It was clear the staff wanted a flier on this day. Having recently seen a picture of the ploughman's lunch on the Facebook page I decided on having this. Unfortunately when taking the order they suggested this was a sandwich? Eventually it was agreed I could have everything on the plate like a normal ploughman’s. Unfortunately when the ploughman’s did arrive it was far from expected. It had no pork pie, one cheese type and no pickled onions. Further people coming in were actually being turned away well over an hour before closing time. Based on my experience I do not think I will be returning. I like to feel welcomed but felt far from it from the outset.

We have breakfast here most weeks. Would definitely recommend it. The food is very nice and the prices are very reasonable.

Fabulous. Lovely staff. Great hot chocolate and the cakes are fab. Tables set aside for customers with well behaved dogs too.

I think the food at the cafe is good, but every time we go the service is so slow ( even when it’s quiet) and the coffee is like Russian Roulette, sometimes it’s great and other times it’s like dishwater ! We went yesterday after the gym and I ordered a Little Well breakfast , tasted nice but it was COLD, I was so hungry I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes .

Popped in today and although they were closing and had turned off the food cooking equipment, they didn't want to leave me hungry so they made special effort to prepare some hot food for me. All the staff were super friendly and this tucked away little café has great ambience and a killer music playlist. The homemade apple pie was so delicious I had two slices. Highly recommended and it will be my go-to place for some good grub next time I'm in town.

I mean I don't actually know where to start I'm so disappointed with the new owners. We visited today and I can honestly say I won't be going back unless something major happens such as the previous owner buying it back. I fully accept that it's ossettfest and they was busy however we asked the lad on the till if they would do my autistic son just a wrap with ham in it and he just looked confused and said I don't no, " well can u please find out?" They did actually make it but no one seemed to no how to put it through the till. ( Fair enough it's not on there menu I get that). When we was sat outside and the lady brought our drinks we asked the question had we actually just been charged £6 for a wrap with ham in she said she would go find out but never returned. Then the food came, the jacket potatoe was overcooked and hard it was dry and the amount of cheese they put on it was actually rediculous it must of been about 5strands no butter and no offer of any. Upon leaving my husband actually fell out of the door and not one member of staff actually asked if he was ok. It was left down to other customers to check he was. No first aid was offered despite him bleeding and hurting his ankle. Oh and I truly believe it was over priced for what it was.

Nice quiet location. Friendly staff. Well cooked food, presented very nicely. Prices are competitive with like businesses in the area.

Had the well breakfast this morning and was very disappointed. The sausages, bread and mushrooms were nice but the rest was like eating a mouthful of oil. The eggs were under cooked!. Spoke to the owner and her response was I will speak to the chef! No apology given.

Disappointed with my visit today. Ordered a toasted sandwich which I requested to be well cooked and a childs sausage sandwich. When the toasted sandwich came it was basically warm bread, barely toasted with a soggy salad. The orders came separately. Seemed disorganised.

Great full English breakfast and very good coffee,nice treat on a cold morning,sadly didn’t have room for the delicious looking homemade cheesecake so will definitely be back for another visit!

We arrived at the store and picked our order up we have tinned plum peeled tomatoes two and half in count with two undercooked sausages lightly coloured the bacon looked anaemic with no colour all in all unhappy wouldn’t recommend this chef not the establishment fault

Love this place! We go with family at least once a week either for just a drink, breakfast or lunch. Really clean, the food is perfect, lots of variety. Place is always really clean, the staff are super helpful. My husband is a bit of a coffee snob and he really enjoys a coffee here so coffee must be good! Breakfasts are amazing! Really good value for money! Not a greasy spoon kind of breakfast, all cooked great and well presented. And a great childrens menu too again for both breakfasts and lunches. My 2 year old loves going and the staff couldnt be more helpful. Have full range of plastic cuttlery for the little ones and plenty of highchairs too. Gets quite busy around 10am-12pm as it is popular but definitely worth the wait for a table or there is nice seating tables outside next to the wishing well. Best most friendly cafe in Ossett 😊

I have never in my life been forced off a table when we haven't finished! Thankyou for ruining a long waited catch up with my best friend, your cafe was empty when we arrived, we had coffee and a sandwich each, and you come and put a reserved sign on our table, and you should not allow people standing waiting for us to leave! We had not finished! We was going back to order again, we are regulars, how rude, thanks for ruining my day!

I have visited the Wellgate often over the last 10 years and has always been consistently of a good standard with food, service and atmosphere. Sadly there was a delay in getting food orders out quickly so we decided to go elsewhere. Certainly will be back again in the future without a doubt. Well recommended 👌 👏 5*

Takes to long to serve food ..drinks are only ever luke warm

Five of us met for breakfast at the Wellgate at 11.30 on a Sunday, we went to order to be told it was now breakfast sandwiches only as they had no beans or tomatoes left. Decided what we want to then be told they had no sausage or bacon so couldn't have sandwiches 🤷 I could see sausage and bacon sticking out from a serving pan above the grill! I'm sorry staff and management, if you get 5 customers wanting to order breakfast when you don't close till 3pm just sort it. If you don't have it there is a Co-op and a BNM just around the corner, took four girls to tell us we couldn't have breakfast, one of you could have gone and got what was needed. Would have been probably £10 a head with drinks if you could have been bothered! Don't worry we won't come again. Went to Redbeck in Wakefield, they serve breakfast all day! Cheaper too 😉

Easy to find, Pick your own seats. Order yourself when ready. (No waiting times) Cleanliness is spot on and dog friendly. We have been to multiple places around Ossett and this place is the best for your money in regards to breakfast. The sausages were incredible and I found out they were sourced from the local butchers around the corner. (Richmonds - The Butchers) You have so many options to personalise your breakfast with no fuss. The price was spot on £5.95 for a breakfast or A Big Breakfast you can see in the pictures was £9.95 and included any hot drink! This will be our go to for the future. Glad we found this cafe!

Had a plough man's lunch, first time for years. The service was good and so was the lunch.

Only issue is it was quite expensive and portions aren't overly generous, ordered the special which was a 'hot beef sandwich', expected hot chunks of nice quality beef in gravy, in a nice heated crusty bread roll. Instead I got a cold, cheap tasting bread roll that was slathered in awful tasting margarine. The beef wasn't chunks, but cheap wafer beef slices and the gravy was lukewarm at best. Not a pleasant sandwich and not at all what I was expecting for almost a fiver (with no sides). Also asked for a glass of water and was given and charged for bottled water.

Not as good as it used to be. Hardly any bacon in the sandwiches. Breakfast Items always seem to run out. Ordered 2 teas the other week and got a teapot each, this time a small teapot with 2 teabags in so it was stewed. Probably won’t rush back again, sorry. Lovely staff though.

Got my order wrong, so the waitresses called the manager up to sort the problem. Waitresses were very sweet but the manager was very rude, sarcastic and passive aggressive. Then when the manager brought out my food she slammed it on the table in front of me. Awful customer service from the manager, me and my friends will not be returning

I would give this 5 stars but for the fact that they let dogs in. Honestly, seeing the staff stroking these flea bags and knowing that they will then serve food puts me right off. In this day and age when we've supposedly reached civilised hygiene standards!

Best cafe in Ossett! The food is lovely and the staff are very helpful! They make a grand pot of tea too!

Lovely bit of lunch! I had the Brie, cranberry and bacon panini and it was delicious. There’s relatively good room in there for kids, prams, families etc so that was good. Would definitely return :)

I drink Americano without milk or sugar so there is nothing to hide the taste of the coffee. The "thing" that I was served here had no taste or smell, probably ok if you have foamed milk and sugar or a fancy syrup in it but sadly lacking when all you want is a decent cup of coffee. If you are going to charge the same price as Cafe Nero, Starbucks or Costa then make sure that your product is as good because this one was not.

It's nice food. Gets really busy though. A little over priced. Nice place.

Wellgate cafe for breakfast sandwiches, tea and americano coffee, excellent as always and served by lovely staff.

Ordered 2 cheese sarnies, both in brown. Bread was hard and tasteless...dont know which bakery/supermarket supply these but they werent good. Cheese was ready grated and powdery and tasteless and tasted like mozzerella cheese, not cheddar. Grated cheese is a nightmare as it all falls out of the sandwich when you take a bite. Rookie mistake. Asked for salad cream on both and got no salad cream. Butter tasted like cheap marge. No thought into the preparation. And was overcharged as the woman who served me wasnt paying any attention whatsoever (the overcharge was rectified after i raised it). I appreciate they were busy with the lunch time rush but come on....how hard is it to get a cheese sarnie wrong??

I like the welfare, always consistent, clean and welcoming. Great coffee and food and with two floors they mostly have an available table. Not five because slightly expensive but I still go.

Tucked away in a little alleyway off Ossett Town Centre. Friendly staff and great service. Nice friendly atmosphere, will definitely be back.

Great little spot out of the way. After not being able to use one café I saw the sign for The Wellgate. Went and had a breakfast with a coffee, all in all fantastic. Staff were friendly and not too in your face, all social distancing and safety well in place, tasty food and well poured coffee. My scrambled eggs were forgotten off my breakfast by mistake but staff soon brought them over and apologized, no harm done! Will return soon.
