Dropped by here yesterday. Not a single draught beer available......only the fizzy lager stuff for those who appreciate such things. Is this pub incapable of fitting of fitting a tap to a barrel? Seems to be pretty typical of London pubs these days...compare and contrast to USA where dozens of microbrewery beers will be ready to go.. We didn't bother hanging around.

Fine for an afterwork pint or two with friends, but staff were moody and the food was terrible

Tried to go in for a quiet drink, met with a really hostile welcome. Definitely avoid if you want a good atmosphere

Lovely pub, great beer. Don’t get the lovely loaded fries if you’re really hungry as it’s a tiny portion for £10.50. Or get 2 portions!

Popped in Sunday afternoon before a show at the Union Theatre. Most marvelous friendly service, felt like a regular straight away. Will definitely be back.

Although it was a private party and packed, the service was great. Easy to get to and near public transport.

I had a cup of tea....the room was on the cool side (low temperature)...needs a bit of atmosphere/coziness to come again

Можна знайти куток або столик у стилі настрою сьогоднішнього дня. В цьому хаосі є свій настрій. І мені це подобається. Одразу створюється настрій релаксу і спокою. Кожну річ або картину можна роздивлятись не одну хвилину. Навіть розірвані шпалери на стелі виглядають цікаво і в гармонії з навколишнім світом. В цьому є якась магія. Приємний персонал. Є камін і літня площадка зі столиками. Ми прийшли сюди о першій дня. Людей небагато бо це будній день. Це чудово. Можна відпочити від шуму вулиці. Але кава може бути краща☝️. Замовив лазанью -смачно. З'їв все що було в тарілці. Не в кожному закладі навіть елітному чи популярному я так роблю. Можу доповнити розповідь. ціни помірні, як для столиці. Музика спокійна і релаксуюча. В туалеті чисто і приємний запах. В цей заклад можна прийти не один раз😉. Після нього спокійний і хороший настрій.

Used to be a Great place, good staff, 5 ciders on tap, which is very unusual, really good food. Not too busy, but now card only. Such a shame.

Netter Pub in Southwark. Die Inneneinrichtung ist sehr einladend und es gibt sogar die Möglichkeit auf Coaches zu sitzen. Die Speisekarte ist wie bei den meisten Pubs eher klein gehalten mit den üblichen Gerichten. Die Burger waren in Ordnung aber nicht das Highlight des Abends und ich würde beim nächsten Mal ein anderes Gericht wählen. Es gibt dennoch gutes Ale und Lager zu angemessenen Preisen. Insgesamt ist das Union Jack einen Besuch für ein nettes Abendessen wert.

Service was alright, can be better. Food can be a lot better. Chicken burger is a scam. Atmosphere was good. Loved it. Sofas are toooooo comfortable!! Just sit, talk and drink all day.

Il cibo era squisito, io ho preso i nachos e il loro burger di pollo, che a mio parere sono squisiti. Il personale è super cortese e disponibile, e l'ambiente mi è piaciuto molto anche se essendo un pub è comunque sporco. Per quanto riguarda le birre hanno una vasta selezione, e consiglio la birra locale che ho trovato squisita. Fanno ànche una spremuta di limone niente male. Posto consigliato e neanche troppo costoso circa 15 Pound a testa contando la mancia e il VAT

Good atmosphere but toilets are so old and smelly you don't want to enter.

Decent place for a pint. The burger is a bit lacking to be honest, especially for £13. The smash burger is in the pic, and honestly was a little bit disappointing. The lord Nelson down the road is a much better option for burgers

Uriger, kleiner Pub. Nicht zu viel vom Essen erwarten, aber man wird satt. Sehr viele Bilder an den Wänden, die die Wartezeit verkürzen.

We traveled from US and this was one of the best meals we had. The staff was awesome and the food was great! We love the cider. Such amazing flavor! Thanks London!!!

Perfectly decent boozer. Slightly more worn and relaxed than nearby alternatives which I liked it for. Beer range is ok but I didn’t spot any real ales. Long may this oasis of a pub continue.

Waited 30 minutes for the worst dish of chips i had in my life, absolutely shocking how this is allowed to be served the photo speaks for itself. This costed £11!!! it actually tastes even worse than it looks. Just STOP serving food or get an actual cook. Ludicrous!!! You are SAD

Nice for drinks, with lovely staff, but the food is very bad. The burger taste like it’s from an industrial site burger van, and is advertised as a “smash burger” but comes as a standard rubbery thick burger patty. If you want a very good burger for the same price, walk 50m up the road to The Nelson, and you’ll come away pleased! UJ’s men’s toilets look like there’s been a paint explosion, and a sarcastic small potted plant has been placed by a hole in the wall on the floor - very strange.

Food was ok. Nothing special. People were nice enough. All a bit of an average friday lunch experience. Pub wasnt v busy at all but was clean etc staff friendly. I had sausage and mash. Sausages were nice but overall meal was v average.

Google calls it the UJ. I always call it the Union Jack. Anyway, it's a good pub. Good selection of beers, plenty of seating, including some comfy sofas and outside seating. Sometimes I been there when they have live music

The pub smelt really bad when I walked in, although I didn’t notice it after a while. My beer tasted like it was the first one out of the pump even though it was mid-afternoon. Someone in the kitchen was watching/listening to something so loudly, it was beyond irritating. I left without finishing my beer and won’t be going back. There are some lovely pubs in the area - this isn’t one of them.

Good pub near Southwark tubes station. Two cask beers on handpump when I visited. The walls are covered in contemporary art, much of it for sale. Plenty of outdoor seating.

Incredibly cosy, homely place. The guy behind the counter was so cool and kind. This was our plan B, as another place was packed, but as usual plan B turned out to be perfect!! Totally enjoyed our time, the atmosphere, drinks & food. We will visit again.

🚇 Southwark 🍺 £5.70 Heineken ❤️ A friendly corner boozer in the backstreets of Southwark. . The Union Jack is easy to get to and is just a couple of minutes walk from Southwark Tube. . This pub used to be called The King of Prussia and changed its name during WWI. Architecturally this Victorian pub is simple in appearance and has several ornate columns around the outside of the pub. . The pub is split in to three distinct areas, the bar area, a raised seating area and a back room. The bar area has a traditional feel to it, the raised area and back room look completely different to the bar and you would think you were in a different pub. The raised area and back room has a proper pub carpet, a hotch potch of different well worn sofas and the walls are filled with an eclectic mix of artwork by up and coming artists. I did visit the khazi and it could do with a bit of love. . This Independent pub has a straight up selection of beers, I ordered a pint of Heineken from the chatty and welcoming barman. My pint was decent enough and average price so no complaints from me. This pub is card only. . I visited on a warm July day, the majority of punters were sat outside on the dozen or so benches. Inside it was relaxed and chilled affair, there was a downtempo soundtrack playing in the background creating a nice ambiance. . The Union Jack is a laid back pub and has a homely feel to it. Nice and friendly tradional pub with lots of art paintings on all the walls. Has live jazz on weekend nights I was told.

Atmospheric pub 😏 close to public transport, amenities and restaurants in The Cut.

Needs a good clean and refurb. The women's toilets have a leaking roof. Cosy enough vibe but a pretty poor pub.

Amazing place! Great food and drinks and ambiance! Owner also owns a nearby gallery so you can always find really cool art on the walls and creative experiences like Jazz and poetry nights.

Waited 30mins for a portion of chips (maize) with cheese that tasted like a melted plastic bag. Do research and find better food very close by..not recommended for food .only lively outside for a beer .boy behind the bar told my work college she was old at 30 haha what an insult !

Really Rude Staff. Young girl behind bar black hair didnt even acknowledge me before or after serving just content with chatting to another member of staff. Had a look off f off i hate my job, thanks for warm welcome. AVOID.

Staff are always friendly, a nice atmosphere, easy for either a bit of work and a drink or to relax and unwind after a day in the office.

Used to love this warm and friendly, welcoming, lively pub. Tonight it was empty, sad, with nonchalant-almost-rude staff. But most of all it was COLD - at one point I could see my breath indoors…and then they turned half the lights off. When I asked the manager if there was any heating because I was freezing, he said ‘sorry I don’t know’. I totally understand pubs’ difficulties at the moment, and yet the next pub along the road had a roaring fire and a welcome smile… Won’t return for a while, you’ve lost a long-standing customer.

Seemed ok at first in spite of the uninspiring choice of drinks. I was over charged by a ridiculous amount and given conflicting explanations. Refund was given but not before a lot of abrupt comments from the manageress. Would not return

Quiet pub plenty of space, but when it gets busy the tables are a bit too close

The bar is a lovely place with excellent professional staff. However, owner is unconscionable. Think "customer service", she will do the opposite. Lack of observation skills, demanding of patrons and has zero foresight. Lost business and return customers today. If you have a group you will be observed and must buy on her schedule. No conversation or backchat allowed. Appalling.

A good pub to visit, very relaxed with a good selection of drinks. There are several different areas so it feels quite private.

Discovered The UJ about 20 years ago when I started to work just around the corner. It became the team go to place when we had something to celebrate and at times commiserate. The staff are friendly and the landlord/licencee is always accomodating and has been known to rustle up bar snacks himself when the kitchen staff are unavailable. Food is good Drinks are fairly priced The welcome is always warm and friendly. Although I no longer work in the area if I am in the area I will always pop in to say Hi! and I'm greeted like a long lost relative.

Waited patiently for a table outside with a few work colleagues. We were confronted by a very rude member of staff ( curly black hair wearing a Guinness top) Once we were sat down we realized that he wasn't just rude with us,other customers were experiencing the same level of service and shaking their heads like they had been made to believe that they had done something wrong. You would think that pub staff would be more welcoming, giving the times in which we are living. Why pay over £100 for drinks to recieve this level of service sat in the cold! Shame really as all the other staff were very friendly.

Nipped in for what was supposed to be a quick lunch. We only ordered paninis because we were in a hurry. They didn't arrive until 45 minutes later, and then weren't up to much. The staff were a bit stand-offish and the chairs were just plain dirty. Won't be going again.

Loads of room here and very comfy seating in the form of sofas and armchairs. Ideal for a Saturday lunchtime pint and chillax. The only fault was that the soundtrack was harsh FM radio. Not what you want the morning after the night before. Some nice chilled ambient tracks and I would've happily spent the afternoon there.

It's a very artistic pub with reasonable pricing, I like that they have lots of couches and the area which the pub is located, however last time I been there the mens rest room was flooded because of obvious problems with their piping. Definitely recommend the place to hang out with friends.

Friendly welcoming pub , tucked away in South London....

We live around the corner and bf loves to come for a beer and fish and chips! The bartender with a bit of an afro hairdo who is often behind the bar is so so kind and polite and treats us with warm service every time. Bf is a bit of an introvert so the louder, crowded places aren’t his favourite spots to hang when he’s by himself - loves to come here for a beer and light meal here and loves the chill atmosphere and kind bartender! Can’t thank him enough :)

Really nice staff and a good range of drinks. However the food was pretty expensive for what it was, and the place was a little run down (holes in the seating, broken lock on the toilet).

I stay in London a lot for work, and a lot of the pubs are too touristy and/ or too full and loud. This was a haven compared to them. Busy but not so much that you couldn't get served and find a perch, the range of beer was good too. Having ordered an ale, it was off but when I went to the bar to point this out, the black fella serving was the epitome of friendliness. No quibble, no fuss, he subsituted the beer for another pint and didn't charge me the difference. I enjoyed two pints here, happy to sit with my phone or people watching. It's not a touristy place, so if that's what you want go elsewhere, but it was a little haven in a busy world and I hope this place thrives. Will definitely return.
