First time coming here, and it was our first day in Perranporth, and we stumbled upon this place whilst looking for food. We gave it a go and wow, it exceeded our expectations! We both went for the mixed grill, and upgraded it to surf & turf. A very generous portion of food, so tasty and very well cooked. We'll be back again for sure!

We had jacket with chilli which mum said was delicious and I had “fish and chips”, whilst it tasted good, fries are not the chip of choice for fish, chips and mushy peas!

Having eaten here several years ago, we were pleased/relieved to find a free table after a few hours on Perranporth beach. I love a Ploughman's Lunch so I was happy to see this on the menu with a Cornish cheese option. I certainly didn't regret my choice and the cheeses and bread were particularly good. My husband enjoyed his local mussels too, which I did try and liked too. Good varied menu, including veggie options and choices for children. Seating area outside and dog friendly.

We where staying in Newquay and Decided to visit Perranporth after a wander we decided to look for somewhere for lunch. As I am a mussel fan I was drawn to the menu here that advertised mussels in a rattler cider and white wine. I am not keen on cream in mussels so this drew me in. Place seemed lovely and had a cosy vibe. We ordered a bottle of wine and then our main. When my meal came I could see that it was in cream. I questioned the waitress who strangely told me that menu says there is a dairy alternative but menu said cider and wine 🤔🤔🤔 that aside my mussels which are usually firm where very small and quite mushy.very dissapointing. I was offered to have new ones but by then my husband was halfway through his meal. Pls if only for other customers either change you're menu or maybe offer meal in wine OR cream. Will add our wine was lovely and my husbands fish and chips where good

Visited on new year’s day, place looked busy and inviting with a roaring fire! That’s where the good parts end. We waited 45 minutes for food that was inedible. We always have a Christmas meal out on Christmas Eve. I can honestly say that this was by far the best we have had in a long while. The table was decorated festively alongside good quality crackers. The presentation of the food was of a high quality and the taste was to match. We were served in a timely manner throughout our meal without being rushed. Myself and wife went here for Sunday carvery it was £15 each and we was disappointed with the quality and the service, we paid for our meals via the on line system and the waitress bought us our drinks and our tickets to take up to the carvery counter, while we was waiting we noticed the chef who was cutting the meat was sweating profusely and wiping brow with his arm, when I got to the counter I asked him for beef and pork and he cut them about 3 inches thick! Far too thick to cut with a regular knife easily, and the pork had so much white fat around it, the yorkshires were disgustingly awful, the road potatoes were very hard and tasted stale, the squares of stuffing were very nice tho as was the buttered carrots and the cabbage, unfortunately the Swede was a bit tasteless and we had to scrape the gravy barrel to try to get some gravy out!! Overall a disappointment to be honest, even the table we was on was wobbly, also to point out as well it was very very warm in there. Unfortunately we won’t be returning, we might of just been unlucky because the pub was busy and is in a loverly location, so it might of just been a bad day.
