Called during the week had a pint of Doom Bar and a Tonic water. Approx.£7.50. Wasn't expecting Wethy's prices but I live in the Yorkshire Dale's, a tourist hot spot and would pay around £2 less. A previous reply says they are competitive. If that is the case they are all profiteering. Disgusting given the current climate.

Just love it when you go into a pub and someone behind the bars says hi, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived by staff and locals. Enjoyed a pint of the local brew and was sorry we did not get back for another.

Visited for family meal, being as large signs outside saying open for great meals etc.. disappointed to only find doom bar and generic lagers on tap but asked about food options. I was told as they don't have a kitchen currently they are using the pub menu from down the rd.. who then bring it up to you in a cardboard take out box?.. do you want to see the menu.... er no thanks, that sounds like a disaster!

We have eaten here a few times and there always seems to be a wait for food (guessing they are short of a chef as always advertising for one). The food is good and always the same standard. Occasionally have an issue with flat beer but this is always rectified. A good place to go if you want a local pub.

Had an evening meal here on a Sunday, mid July 2021. Although website and menu both say roast served on a Sunday, this is no longer the case, so we (a family of four) selected different dishes from the menu. After a long wait (despite the pub not seeming to be very busy at that time) the food was a mix of good to very poor. Kid's chicken nuggets good (breast chicken), steak was fine, burger was chargrilled to a crisp (burnt) on the outside and the steak and ale pie was a joke that should never have been served. The pie in particular was over-cooked/over-microwaved with no noticeable pastry - maybe a couple of inch-round bits of pastry hidden amongst two or three edible bits of meat, with the rest of the meat dried-out/hard/solid and inedible. On the positive side, the chips and accompanying vegetables were good. When asked if the food was OK, we had to mention the inedible pie and were offered an alternative, which we declined largely on the basis of the time at that stage. Not offered a refund/discount on the pie (payment made at the point of ordering). We had been given two pints on the house for the long wait before the food arrived, which was unexpected and a nice gesture (we hadn't moaned about the wait and the staff had apologised for the delay a couple of times). The two beers would have been a similar price to the pie, so we didn't bother trying to get a discount on the food. Overall, I can't recommend, but maybe we were just unlucky and others may have a better experience.

We had just arrived locally for a few days holiday and just got in our car to look for somewhere. As we came across this pub, we could tell if it was open or not but went o take a closer look and ask if they did food. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who checked with the chef if he could fit us in. We were a little apprehensive as so few people there. But, they said ok and we found a table…there was lots of space and they seemed well ‘Covid’ organised. The service was faultless and the menu offered a good choice.( even for us fussy customers as my wife is vegetarian and I can only eat certain foods) The food arrived in a reasonable time and I have to say the chips looked sensational.and, they tasted it. I think I’d go so far as to say the nicest and biggest chips I’ve ever had in a pub/restaurant. All the food including the gorgeous coleslaw and onion ring sides orders was very nice. The two ladies serving were very pleasant and attentive. A pleasant surprise and shows you can’t always judge a book by its cover!!

we visited one night for pre-dinner drinks only and were seated safely and all sensible precautions were obeserved, ladies serving at the tables were very cheerful and helpful. Second night we had a booking for dinner. We were greeted by a very frosty lady who had obviously had a bad day and decided that we would be her option to let off steam. she left the menus and didn't attempt to take a drinks order. We were never told till we sat down that it was areduced menu, and that firstly there were no starters, limited main courses and very little deserts. Eventually returned for drinks orders and then food orders. Food was really quite good, but the limited choice was disappointing, especially when we went to another resuatrant the next night which had the full menu on offer. Overall OK, but lacked choice and polite table staff on the second visit.

After reading the previous reviews I can't bring my head around the fact that people think this pub is reasonably priced for drinks!we payed £12 for a pint of Stella a small 200ml bottle of coke and a small glass of orange juice !we repeated the same order in the troll cart(Weather spoons) in great Yarmouth and the bill came to £7!safe to say we had 1 drink and left never to return again in our week long holiday.places like this do there self out of business as we probably would of used the pub most nights if we hadn't of had our pants pulled down over the 1st round of drinks. Not to mention unfriendly service and a pub with no atmosphere,so much so you could hear a pin drop and the eyes stare over as we entered AVOID!!!!!!!!!

We almost didn’t go here after reading the latest review but so glad we did. The locals were friendly, the waitress was very helpful. We asked for a bowl of water for our dog she got us one straight away. The menu is reduced due to the Covid-19 restrictions, but we all found something on the menu, I asked if my daughter could have a child’s portion of sausage and mash as she didn’t fancy anything off the kids menu and without hesitation she said Yes. My 5 year old also ordered off the main menu (9” pizza) as the kids menu only had 2 items, but again the lady was very nice and said she could provide us a box to take any left over away with us (there was no need to worry we polished it all off!) Our drinks order was taken from outside and within minutes arrived. Honestly can not fault this place and the service we received. A lovely gem of a pub in a perfect location.

Eventually Sat down at the table and all we heard from the locals was swear word after swear word. Not what you need with a 4yr old and a 18month old. As for the food.... well it was crap! Sharing platter just a huge amount of not so delightful food. The mains, I can assure anyone are microwave meals. The only thing cooked fresh was the chicken. My wife and one of my friends has lasagne which can only be described as a pile of melted cheap cheddar (can't spell cheddar on menu as it's spelt chedder!!!) both lasagne left as it was poor. We were warned by the bar staff that if we ordered there might be a long wait before we received our food. Un-deterred, we placed our order of nuggets and chips, ploughmans and chilli con carne. What we didn't expect is that the waiting time would be one and half hours. The reason for the delay was that it was a Saturday, there was a sudden rush of customers and the food is cooked to order. It does state on the menu that it is not a fast food restaurant. When the food came, the portions were ample for the price paid and was very tasty. Personally, I would have liked some tortilla chips with my Chilli Con Carne, but that's just my preference. So if it's busy and you don't mind waiting, hang around and enjoy the food.

The staff accomadated a party of 30 for a special birthday lunch. The service was excellent as all the food was served up hot and very quickly considering the number or people they had to cook for. The food was plentiful and great value for money. The pub is welcoming with very friendly and helpful staff

I had read reviews and looked forward to going to The Turnstone. The big bar hadfootball, so we went to the right hand room, it was dark , terrible lighting, Our foodcame quickly, it was ok . There was no fresh veg and potatoes . This pub could bea gold mine, being so near holiday parks. We did say we would not go there again. But to be fair food prices were reasonable. If you like sport this is the pub for you.A nice walk from Haven to The Turnstone. Car park at the back of pub.It looked clean. There was families with children, which is a good thing.I did think it was going to so much better than it was.I hated the dark dingy room to the right,

Had a family meal here a few weeks ago. While the menu had few surprises, it had everything that you would expect and want from a typical pub. The pub is quite large and it's large TV - tuned to the sports channel probably satisfies many customers well. If you are looking for somewhere quiet to eat you may not find it here at certain times but the staff are friendly, the food was good (though slow to arrive) and we were able to take our time at a quieter table.

Friendly pub, good for watching the football in. Food home-cooked to order and of acceptable taste with drink. Lots of space, some quiet areas to the right if you don't want to watch the big screen.

Been here whilst staying at Hopton Holiday Village. I had a Mixed Grill cooked Rare. Absolutely delicious cooked to perfection. Father in law had a Rib Eye steak cooked medium rare with a peppercorn sauce and his words were one if the best steaks he has had. Mother in law had Gammon Egg and Chips and she really enjoyed it even saying there was too much to eat. Wife had lasagne and she really enjoyed it. Wife's words were 'yummy'. If you are in the area avoid the restaurant in the holiday village and come here for good food and cheaper drinks

On a holiday in hopton with my mam and aunty we passed the pub a few times before deciding to try it.... best decision we had. The lady behind the bar was friendly and welcoming the atmosphere was chilled and inviting and the food was exceptionally good for pub food. There is a great choice of food on the menu and was delivered how we wanted it hot and didn't keep us waiting for long great sized portions and great value for money. We went back about 3 times on that holiday. All in all brilliant and if your down that way check it out

A small group of us were looking for somewhere different to go for a drink so we ventured out to Hopton. We were impressed with the Turnstone and found it to be friendly and a good place to sit and have a drink and chat. We didn't have food, but there looked to be a good range on the menu and specials. Inside was a pool table, dart board and TV.

We were in Corton for a holiday and decided that we should go out to eat being my parents 35th wedding anniversary. We chose The Turnstone in Hopton because we had never been before and the reviews we read said it was a great place. I have to say the reviews were spot on. The atmosphere of the place is great even when it wasn't busy, the food was fantastic and the portions were amazing for the price. The food was so good that we felt we had to complement the staff and to pass it on to the chef. I could not recommend the place enough to any one visiting the area, please do yourselves a favour and get yourselves down to the Turnstone you won't be disappointed. It was so good we had to go back for a 2nd meal before we left. The only issue we had was a bill issue but that was down to the tills and the staff rectified the issue straight away with no problem. Thanks Turnstone staff we will be back next year.

We were staying on the holiday camp near by and decided to give the Turnstone a try. We were very impressed food was all home cooked no frozen onion rings and wedges here! Five of us had steak and every one was cooked to perfection. One had the chicken bacon and cheese and the bacon was lovely and thick with a good amount of cheese on top. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definately recommend the Turnstone to anyone. If you are staying on the holiday park it is worth checking out.

We stayed in Hopton last week and visited the Turnstone for Sunday lunch. So pleased we didn't order the larger meal because we could only just manage the standard size roast! We decided to return later in the week and again we weren't disappointed but the quality and quantity of the food served. We will certainly use the Turnstone again if we returned to the area.

We have been in for a meal twice this holiday and the food is amazing home cooked food the chips are unbelievably delicious. The omelettes are big and amazing. Our boy is fussy on his food but he cleans his plate every time we go. Highly recommend if on holiday near here, So we went again last night for last meal of season and oh boy did it not fail, it was the best pie I’ve ever had in a pub and the chips were fantastic as always, staff really friendly, and service is excellent, shame it would be 6 hour round trip to come back in winter.

Bit of a last minute decision, but fancied a Sunday roast and the PotP usually delivers. As hoped for it was excellent. Almost too good as I had no room left for the apple pie and custard ☹️, maybe next time.

This was genuinely the worst 2 bits of fish I have ever had served to me. Myself and my wife had a portion each and they were most grey un-fresh looking pieces of fish I have ever seen. £9:40 with chips is a good price in this day and age but jeez it was awful. As a consolation the chips were probably an 8/10. personally I'd give it a miss.
