Awful atmosphere not welcoming at all.

Oh dear god, how to not welcome people the bar had 8 people in it, 6 more walk in and get told don't stand in the bar I need to serve people. Hmm plenty of room I think. Then another 8 people from our group walk in and get told they can't play darts unless they buy drinks. So all in all 14 people leave. Loss of revenue £££

Good grief! It had to be the worst Sunday lunch in the UK? We popped in as we were staying nearby, the beef meat was warmed by the gravy, but fair! Alas it went down from there! hard baked roast potatoes with dry interior Hard and dry, baked. I'll leave it there! BUT It was awful!

Not A Very Good Pub No Stella BEER, No Smoking Shelter

Six of us popped in for a few drinks & a bit of supper. All our food came out piping hot & was superb. Friends tried out the new platter, fabulous. Large portions so you’ll never leave hungry. Great value for money, looking forward to our next visit.

The landlady was very rude ,she shouldn't run the place moaned about a lamp dirty place also needs a good paint and clean up

As it was Sunday, all 4 of my family members had roast dinner as this was all that was available. Honestly it was the worst roast dinner any of us have eaten. I had beef and it was very tough! There was swede on the plate which had WAY too much pepper in it. There was a strange mixture of red cabbage and sultanas which was very odd and tasteless. We could hardly even cut the roast potato's. The stuffing had a nice taste but was sliced like fruit loaf and was tough. There were boiled baton carrots and peas with it too which were very bland. This really was a disappointment!! Our plates went back still pretty much full. Would NOT recommend it at all!

Visited the centurion while staying at one of the local holiday parks, only went to the centurion after reading other reviews and can honestly say you wont be disappointed. Food was really good, Mixed grill and the sirloin steak big portions and value for money. Will definitely call again when holidaying in the area.

Really surprised by the quality of the pool table and 50p per play. We intend to return. We didn't eat here this time.

Sunday lunch is a staple in the UK, it has been cooked for many years, its hard to mess several items up on one plate! So popping in for a lunch we were told only Roast on sunday menu, and we selected a roast beef & roast pork, this was not on their web site but we were happy, so far- It came up looked odd a flat Yorkshire sulking as it was stodgy & un-risen just out of a pop over pan, matched by the odd looking sage & onion stuffing this was an exceptional one crafted to look like a ice hockey puck and had the same consistency pretty inedible as I only had a knife & fork normally as a blacksmith it would be no problem but i tried, the mushy swede (I think?) bland, now roast potatoes, plenty crisp alas the fluffy normally found inside was mostly missing, one good point the beef was ok, quite good the peas like Norma's greyish. I cant recommend it, so far off target it needed a warning & this is it!

Went as a family of 7 for an evening meal and would highly recommend. Food was delicious and lots of it, portions are huge and well worth the very reasonable price. Fabulous service and lovely friendly bar staff 🥂🍻

Absolutely lovely food, extremely generous portion, cooked perfectly and for a fantastic price. The reason for my 1 star rating is the owners attitude to our family. She made us feel extremely unwelcome and was condescending throughout our evening. A real shame as the waitress tried really hard and the afternoon bar staff 2 days previously were lovely.

We have always enjoyed our visits to the Centurion, until this year. Our family was made to feel very unwelcome by the lady behind the bar. It was as if she didn't want children in the bar area. Food was out of the question. No children only tables. No children could play pool. She refused to turn up the volume on the TV. If you have children, consider going elsewhere for food and drink.

Quantity over quality meat was over cooked plate filled with chips. Full of locals not very friendly, kept look at us all the way through dinner felt uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Decided to leave the haven caravan sight for a pub meal for two sets of couples walked in and got the coldest reception, the lady that said she owned the place said that one of us had looked at her in a funny way 😂 which definitely did not happen which lead to her being very rude to us and making us feel very uncomfortable so we bought one drink and left and never got food and the way she was with us all it sounded like she could be bothered to cook anyway. I did go back in after my drink and said I didn’t think her customers service skills were very good and asked why she was so rude to which she told me that I had looked at her funny and I told her she was wrong but again was very rude to me , definitely won’t be going back there and the lady missed out on a large bill .

Visited when stuck between Caister and Yarmouth due to buses not running after a car crash. Just what we needed, massive food portions, great value (£50 for family of 4 including alcoholic drinks!) and it was lovely fresh home made food 👌🏼 served by bar and kitchen staff who couldn't do enough to make our visit any more pleasurable. Thank you 👏🏼

I live locally so took my family to try the food. WOW!!! Fresh, steak cooked to order and very generous portions. We all enjoyed the food and the friendly staff. A really pleasant evening and very reasonable prices.

Was sceptical about going here as it didn't look the most welcoming of places but I was so wrong!! Was given a lovely warm welcome and whilst the selection of beers wasn't as wide as some pubs I've been in, there was still enough of a range to find something decent. The food is the best thing about this place though. I had the mixed grill and the wait was long enough to prove that it was freshly cooked. The portions were absolutely massive and it tasted superb. This pub is a perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. If you find yourself in Caister then you should definitely pop in

Staying at haven and decided to give this pub a go. Wow amazing meal. Portions so big. Salmon new potatoes and 3 veg. Steak and Ale pie new potatoes and 3 veg. Half a chicken and chips. Everyone throughly enjoyed they meal. Bar staff lovely and friendly. Very nice pub highly recommend

On holiday came across this place which was really nice. Layout very good big place. Food was unbelievable portions we're huge and excellent value for money. Bar staff very friendly. Fully recommended

Where do l start, after leaving our holiday camp in Caister on sea we took a nice stroll to the Centurion public house which was approximately 300 yards away. After a couple of pints we decided we would try the food and we were in for a treat. We both ordered the mix grill and the portions and quality were amazing and great value at just £17.95 each. The staff were friendly and attentive and well worth a visit and not to mention the hand pulled beers 😊

Didn't have food but from what I saw being bought out looks value for money. Pity I can't say the same for the drinks. Living in the Great Yarmouth /Caister area feel that the drinks are very over priced. There is a large car park. Toilets clean. Beer garden.

Very disappointed I thought this was supposed to be a family friendly pub/restaurant, but the few times I’ve been usually Friday evenings the clientele is much to be desired, firstly you have a small group in there obviously regulars with their very noisy dogs , and themselves also very loud , rude and obnoxious. The language is quite often offensive especially with children present and the bar manager who is a female laughs it off as clearly they are friends. I think a pub that it so close to a big campsite could do so much better than this the food isn’t great mostly microwaved and I’ve often had to complain but it seems to just get shrugged off , such a shame because with the right staff and get rid of the obnoxious individuals it would be a really good place so No would not recommend it to anyone

Friendly local pub that serves nice food. Had the hunters chicken which was a very good portion size and the chicken was very succulent. Will definitely eat there again when we visit the area next

Visited The Centurion while we were staying down in Casiter-On-Sea the food was so good we went back the second evening! Staff went above and beyond for our little ones the owner went out of her way to the wholesalers to get some ice-cream so they could have dessert when we visited the following evening. Food I couldn't fault at all, first evening we had Lasagne and a Mixed Grill which were both very tasty! Second evening we had Salmon and Half a rack of ribs which were equally as tasty! Definitely recommend and we will 100% be back again.

Great food excellent service eaten here 4 times over the last 4 years no complaints even went out of there way to get ice cream for the children

Children's playground needs a bit of maintenance

called prior to book a table, but was told to just show up and they would pull some tables together. but when the 8 of us went in for dinner but were greeted by rude staff who said 'are you just here to use the toilet then?' there were no tables for us when we arrived. poor

Went with my mother who lives across the road for a family dinner also took the dog which can go inside . Great menu and food was hot and the right portions not overloaded your new chef is a keeper

11 of us went in for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. The food was fantastic as was the service. There was not not one complaint about the food, in fact everyone of the party was complementary. Very highly recommended.

Popped in here in between looking at properties. Seemed to be used by quite a few people and different clubs during the week. Slimmers world use it as a base during the week. Also.handy for holiday makers as caravan park nearby. Friendly bar maid. Will return

I visited a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time in years. I originally thought It was closed, but the door was open and I walked in to a very quiet and dark pub with no atmosphere. Much different to when I was there before (holiday). I van remember it being such a lively place with food and entertainment. Not sure if it was under new ownership or just the time of year. On a plus side.. the lady behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly and the beer was good.

Moved to Caister on sea recently, landlord and landlady could not have been more welcoming. Fantastic staff too. Food highly recommended and a perfect pint.

this is a lovely friendly pub we was in there xmas eve stayed to the end when they closed at 7 pm me and my wife never heard people shouting etc and i am sure the landlady would not put up with any bad language

Allways very welcoming, nice local pub, with generally a nice relaxing atmosphere

Drinks where ok. Decore abit dated. we sat down to eat, it was a small area and no steak, but it was still advertised on the specials. I ordered the lamb shank, about £12, it come with frozen boiled veg and SMASH! never have I had SMASH in a restaurant.! Pizza was ok ish, the chillie looked alright. A couple came in (after we got our food) only to be turned away as the chef was at full capacity. I would have rather ate at the chippy at haven!

This is a superb place to have a drink or a meal!.Food is very reasonable priced for very large portions and together with friendly staff this establishment is well worth a visit or two.

Friendly staff and excellent food at reasonable prices. We went there three times last week, three of us with a dog and each time we had different meals and they were all delicious and served piping hot. Highly recommended.

Extremely warm friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent portion sizes and fantastic food. Great value for money. Highly recommend. It's a shame we discovered this place on our last night. First night at holiday resort in their restaurant food was awful, over priced and not much choice at all. Wish we had come here instead. We will certainly be returning next time we are around here.

We found this gem whilst staying down the road, great food (huge portions) at reasonable prices. Lovely staff, they opened an area of the pub for us so we could sit together. Fabulous selection of gins, playground for the children and dog friendly.

It was sensational when we came here last year, food was spot on, the pudding was to die for... We live in Norwich and we will be going here again this year when we get the time/chance
