Nice old fashion drinking inn with real ale

Very quaint bar, nothing special but enjoyable. Staff were friendly and polite. Few tap beers and real ales available at great prices. Benches for seating with wooden and metal trunks for tables, amazing idea. Walls covered with beer logo labels. Wheelchair friendly but tight as it's a small bar. Down to earth sort of place Beer was good. Very nice visit.

Local's pub, good selection of well kept beers. Advertised as cash only but doesn't take £50 notes. If you want a decent night out these days, £50 does not go anywhere.

Great selection of ales in a proper old school pub! Live blues music from The Jelly Roll Brothers was a Brucie bonus. Loads of history on all the different levels of the pub. Great atmosphere. Absolutely loved it.

A traditional style with the bar in the middle. It's a rugby pub but still friendly, welcoming and with its own buzz. The Hardings ale was average. There is a better range of local ciders. The best thing is the price of the ale - £3 Monday to Thursday.

Micropub situated a short walk from the bus & railway stations. Eclectic decor including a stuffed sheep. 3 real ales and a multitude of ciders on when we visited, the Goff's Lancer was especially nice

A proper british pub! Went on a very busy night as Gloucester rugby were playing at home. What an amazing pub with excellent cider and real ales. Amusing decor and a mix or regulars and visitors. Speedy service at bar. Our kind of drinking place. Can’t wait to come back 😄

Unusual, but great. Cash only. No TV screens (yay!). Phone calls not allowed (yay!). Good beer. With a devoted following of locals, but also welcoming to tourists like me.

A cracking little Micro pub with well kept beers and a huge selection of ciders . Really friendly owners and customers alike . Lovely cheese roll to go with your pint too. Highly recommended. Next time I'm down from Coventry this will be my first port of call

It's a Gloucester thing. Craft ale micro's with real ale only. No craft. No keg. No lager. No international. Have to say though, the beer was lovely. Decent traditional bar.

Great little pub. Lots of variety of cider choices. Tropical cider was a favorite. No phones to be used inside which is a nice touch. If you want to use then can just step outside .

Excellent pub. After meeting them at the Tewkesbury winter beer festival we finally managed to get over for a few beers. Great beer and bar, definitely return ( for a longer visit. Ah well back again today. Pleased to say the beers are as good as ever. Great to speak to the proprietor who understands every about real ale 😊. Seriously it's a great pub and added to our favourites. Smiley faces all round.

Yep, proper pub. Very welcoming staff and great beers, the wife is delighted by the cider range. This will be a pub I visit every time I come to Gloucester now.

Fantastic new pub on one of the main streets, Southgate Street. It serves gravity poured real ales, it's quite small with a back room. We went there when it was snowing heavily, and there were a few others in there too, despite the weather. I had to look very hard for the gents toilet, it blended in very well with the wallpaper

An alternative pub, cash only so was an issue as we never carry it these days so had to go to cash point. Yes all the rules were noticed. Wasn’t complaining was just wondering as since lockdown most places don’t want cash. Really enjoyed our experience 🤦‍♀️ plus I rated it highly!

A tiny but brilliant pub almost in Gloucester city centre. When we went it was packed out during the Gloucester folk trail. A very friendly place with the focus on draught ales. If you're lucky you might be able to park right outside too!

Great micropub. Now in a new location with an upstairs too. Still the same simple pub with beer paraphernalia all over the walls. Please observe the rules!

Great little micro-pub. Always a fun selection of beers which turn over quickly - so I’ve never had a bad pint of ale. Great ‘happy hour’ prices (and even full price is great value). As a publican myself - in a different town - this is just what I look for in a pub. Good beer, forthright and entertaining staff, and a real community feel (you’ll always find people up for a chat!)

Appalling attitude, behaviour from staff simply because couple of very decent, respectable (certainly for that place!) couple rested on outdoor seats on public access street before pub was even open!

Scruffy, tacky pub in yet another run down area of the town. They should put their customer furniture on their premises not on public pavements otherwise beautiful, talented people with their son wouldnt sit there ! Off you go then...

A real gem. An old fashioned pub with cask ales and ciders. The new location has an upstairs room with nice views over the newly revamped Kings Square. The prices are also very reasonable. Don't come here looking for loud music, WiFi and fruit machines mind. It is somewhere to chat to friends and enjoy a pint

If u like cask beer or ale then u love this place. Cheep but nice quality drinks at low prices. Even service is good but great for locals. Nice atmosphere, specially love the colourful walls. Just next to dock in high street. Plenty of seating inside n outside too.

Never got to write a review during the Gloucester Folk Trail as I was attempting a no phone policy to get the most out of the evening. But I can't forget to share that this pub is incredible. The sheer selection is worth praise alone, but the decor and the atmosphere, as well as the service will definitely have us returning when in Gloucester. We stayed for a while even though bar hopping was on the agenda. We sampled various ales and ciders and got stuck into a few board games. Love this place!
