The Turk's Head in Richmond upon Thames

Difficult to judge before an international at Twickenham as the place is always heaving, but they managed to get the drinks out quick enough.

Stopped in for a drink before visiting Twickenham. Incredibly busy, but managed efficiently by some amazing bar staff.

Profession purpose built outdoor wood extension cabin, with thick waterproof hard-wearing blue material walls, internally heated with both floor seated blowers and ceiling mounted electric heat lamps placed strategically around the cabin to make perfect use of convection physics. Large quantity of 2 gang sockets and large 55" led driven televisions showing numerous sports related games. Staff were great, food was great, very busy on game and other Twickenham event days. Live music.

This is fuller’s pub so has to good and also service is so good we really enjoyed and everything was great also staff was friendly

Great food (especially club sandwich) and lovely little garden. However, it is rarely available to use. Often closed for weddings and rugby. Have just been turned away on a Wednesday afternoon as they are “preparing for the rugby on Saturday”. With two young children the garden and play area is imperative. Also previously upon leaving the establishment, as was a bit taken aback to be questioned by the gentleman behind the bar as we exited (after paying the bill), he shouted out across the bar “do you have a tab open” almost implying we hadn’t paid. Slightly soured the experience. Sadly the attitude of the staff and lack of garden access let the pub down.

Had our wedding here a year ago (15.10.23). Staff are very lovely & friendly, the food is also good! We had the best time & they set it up so lovely for us, had such a fun time. Loved every minute of it!

Good atmosphere, clean, good selection of drinks and food. Probably not great for parking, is in a residential area but close to public transport

We went to Turks Head yesterday I can say although our first time definitely be our last. I can only describe the food that was served up looked no better than SLOP!! It was tasteless cold etc for the money that was charged it was a disgrace as a further observation the surroundings of the wider pub is very tired and very dirty as a result I’ve spent last night very close to my toilet. I will never be returning to The Turks Head for food or anything else and I can’t understand the great reviews because what I saw and ate I wouldn’t feed my dog!!

Great service. Atmosphere truly local. Staff are very attentive and a good selection of beers on offer. Real ale on tap changes regularly.

Nice looking pub with decent outdoor space and small playground equipment for children. Food was ok, ordered the squid which had too much batter for my liking and roast pork which was nice.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Worst burger I have ever had. Chicken was fried in old oil, the inside of the chicken was dark grey/black and tasted like it had been reheated 4 times. I do not recommend!

The chicken burger was shocking, compared to the other food that arrived it was by far the worst. The chicken looked grey and smelt odd. It had clearly been re-fried a few times. Really not what you’d expect when paying £18 for a chicken burger.

Genuinely one of the worst meals I have ever had. Avoid the chicken burger at all cost. I had sent it back and it was replaced with a cheese burger but you are better off getting one from McDonalds. £18 pounds for a meal that wouldn’t be fit to serve to anyone

We visited The Turks Head and were impressed by the warm and friendly service. The pub has a cozy atmosphere and charming character. The outdoor garden area was particularly enjoyable, providing a perfect spot to relax with a drink. The live music was an added bonus, enhancing the overall experience.

Great atmosphere before and after the game

This long standing pub has suffered a number of refurbs, which you may or may may not approve of in attempt to appeal to all crowds. The garden has been converted to a mostly covered area, cheaply done but effective. Some areas still get some sunshine! There's no where you can sit without a TV showing sports, football etc. Even the DIY outdoor booths have tvs in them. So this is a sports bar now? But it has a climbing frame and kids play area. So it's a family pub? Indoor seated restaurant that is also a thoroughfare for the garden. Restaurant pub then? Old fashioned bar area, but the antique etched glass was removed to make it more 'welcoming'. Old man pub? Nope. Multiple pub identity disorder has resulted in a pub that's not sure what it wants to be. Mainly it wants to try to please everyone but ultimately fails. Makes lots of money I'm sure. That said, the beer is well kept (Dark star Hophead a welcome regular). Crisps are pricey. Food is basic in quality but reasonable in price. If you like football you can dump the kids in the corner and stare at a TV and they probably won't annoy others too much!

Enjoyable evening at the Turks head this evening. Good food , service and ambience. Thank you for letting us leave our bikes in the garden. We will definitely come and visit again

The ambiance of the pub amazing and the staff were kind but especially the chips are heavenly. We wouldn’t expect but they are awesome.

Great pub, outstanding service and probably the best fish pie I’ve ever had 👌. We ate at Turks few times in the past and it never disappoints. We’ve been served by Stanley tonight and we’ve had a very pleasant evening 💯

Lovely people, lovely pub! Nuff said!!! The Turk's Head, at the north end of Twickenham is a lovely place to visit. A Fuller's pub of large dimensions. A great bar and superb, covered outdoor area. The staff are most welcoming and great at their job. Also, even the PDQ machine worked without a hitch (cradled). Fine beer and everything you would hope for from the Chiswick based Brewery (and estate guardians).

Gets very busy on match days, but their system gets you served very quickly

Had a Sunday roast with family. All very good, it's pub with very good food, nice sharers, good main, lovely deserts. Ice cream, made from buffalo milk was the best. Will definitely return and therefore highly recommend. 👌

Took a friend visiting from Japan here for an evening meal on a Thursday night. Lovely relaxing evening with great food and friendly service. Kudos to the whole team for running a great pub.

We visited the pub yesterday and were blown away,great space,child friendly with a crafts room kept my son and his friends entertained coupled with a play area. Excellent variety of Sunday roast, delicious. Service was excellent.

Excellent (and new) brunch menu. Wide choice: traditional breakfast; smoothies; toasties; sarnies; plus some interesting takes on brunch; and some lunch-type offerings. Brilliant.

This is a lovely venue for both locals and visitors. There is always a good crowd when a rugby match is on at Twickenham. The staff are great and make sure that the wait for your next pint is never too long. For those with a daring spirit you can even attach your ticket to the ceiling (If you have lineout experience!).

Very expensive beers. Beer garden stinks of smoke and cigarettes, no ventilation. Smoking should not be allowed if there is a roof! Will not be returning

Attended a birthday party in their private garden area. Loads of space, well presented and even a little climbing frame for the kiddies. Buffet food offering was superb too! Indoor function space available too which looked great too although we didn't use it. Parking likely to be a nightmare outside of Sundays as its all residents parking aside from a small number of short stay metered spaces.

We organised a drink event with some food in the pub. The whole team at The Turk's Head were incredibly helpful both with the planning and on the day. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff we came in contact with.

Staff are very nice and warm. The chicken burger was dry. My mum had an upset stomach two hours after eating the tomato linguine. Overcharged double for the meal so be vigilant.

Very nice pub, wide range of drinks available. Nice mix of modern and traditional. Very pleasant beer garden. We at traditional pub fare, burgers chips etc. It was nicely cooked and tasty. Service was good. The price is what you expect to pay in London. We went because we had tickets for the excellent Bearcat comedy club attached to the pub.

Two half broccoli florets and 5 carrot sticks as a side order - ridiculous. Adult burgers had more of a charcoal flavor. Recommendation: Ambience and children yes, food no

Was in a private function room for a party. It was nice.

Love the pub, second time I have been, this time we didn’t eat just had drinks, always lovely and open with a great vibe. They have good prices on the wines and nice wines to select from same with beers. Definitely recommend especially on the way to twickenham for the rugby.

My son's 8th Birthday party the table looked fantastic the team had written a a card and a gift which was totally unexpected and made my boys day. Brilliant Pub, Great Food and the team are amazing, can't say how fantastic this pub is!!!

Good place for an expensive pint but the food price and portions dont align - big price, small portion. Need to offer better sized meals for kids and adults. We had the £16 salad - it tasted ok but it was gone in the blink of an eye and I needed to eat more when I got home.

Awful today, the 10k run in a very hot day, they were not ready. No tables, no air on, kids waiting 45 min for food. Run out of food, so they stopped taking orders , shirt of staff, tables reserved for sponsors… but empty

Last night the Turk's Head hosted 8 of us for Mum's birthday. They could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. Didn't question the fact we had our own cake and even threw in a bottle of prosecco. The food was delicious and well priced and the selection of ales and wines similarly excellent. What a fine team you have as well. Thank you

Wow. What a fantastic pub. Customer service is 10/10. Greeted upon arrival, warm and friendly welcome. All the staff were lovely. First time here and safe to say I'll be back. Came here this afternoon with 2 others for drinks and lunch. Service was consistent throughout our stay and super efficient. Food was delicious. I had the burger which was amazing and the chips were honestly the best pub chips ever!!! My brother had the salmon which was devoured and my SIL had the shepherds pie which she also loved. Kid and dog friendly too which is always good.

A great pub pre games at Twickenham. Great London Pride reasonably priced at £6.50 on a match day. Read elsewhere that The Admiral Nelson (a pub I used to drink in for years) were charging premium prices. Nice beer garden and not too backed though it does get rammed for the Internationals

Such a lovely pub, staff are so lovely & friendly. Its a very community based & Likes to help others which is very rare to see. Have eaten here a few times and as we live it here so much, we’re having our wedding reception in their hall (all family parties are popular to). Dogs are also very welcome to this pub (event he naughty loud one like ours). Ollie is the nicest man you could meet…all the team are just lovely. Can’t wait till our wedding in October this year x

A really lovely pub. However the security guard wasn’t as lovely. Kicking friends out for no reason and telling others they will be kicked out for speaking too loudly. Just to clarify the pub is great but I hope the security guard isn’t there again.

Went in for a quick bite to eat this lunch time and, as ever, was impressed by the delicious food and price of the weekday lunch menu (club sandwich = large and tasty). Was also nice to see staff who are friendly, attentive and looking after the pub instead of playing on their phones during any downtime. Much better than other local pubs and eateries.

Haven’t been in this pub for many years and doubt I’ll be returning anytime soon. The pub is fine plenty of character and lovely staff, service was good. Ordered a pie which was dry and overcooked and a pint of London Pride which was overpriced and of pretty poor quality. Possibly the worst pint of Pride I’ve ever had and having been born and bred in the area I’ve drunk a hell of a lot of London Pride, it wasn’t helped by being served in a plastic glass which I understand due to the Rugby at Twickenham but not necessary in the Comedy Venue next door.

A Decent pub , with good food and great little venue next door , If just remember its St Mag's / Richmond prices so you wont be too shocked when the bill comes .
