The Trent Lock in Erewash

Tiny portions at extortionate prices. I thought £8 for grilled chicken breast was good but I was extremely disappointed. You would get more breast off of a day old chick. I genuinely believe they cut a chicken breast into quarters.

Bit of a mix up on food, all good in the end.

Nice pub next to the lock, at the meeting of the Trent and the Soar. Nice beer garden, great views over the Trent.

LOVED this pub along the water. Beautiful garden full of outside tables and lively swans and birds. The staff was lovely. Meghan was our server and she took good care of us.

Lovely pub with seating inside and outside. Had a pork belly which took over an hour to arrive. It wasn’t cooked properly, very soft on top and not crispy 🤮

Booking on the app was easy, although we did have to confirm that one of our party had a nut/seed allergy. So, surprised to seeds on the first course. Otherwise, lunch was excellent with an excellent standard of food and generous portions. Service was exceptional and the atmosphere relaxed. Great experience.

What a wonderful pub and the food is very good. The service was very good but slow as the lady was on her own. Must try the fish pie, the best fish pie we tasted

Fantastic place to stop off and eat a freshly cooked meal. COELIACS catered for with a great menu especially the fish and chips. I've been COELIAC for over 30 yrs. Staff are friendly and very helpful Looking forward to our next visit already.

Great food atmosphere and service

Food was fantastic but only 1 member of staff at the ordering stations and bar. She was friendly but poor at her job. Spilling beer and letting people jump the que. Get more staff for the prices paid for food.

Love nothing more that a stroll down the canal to the Trent Lock. Nice pub whether you are sat inside or out. Good drink selection but found the food quality lacking lately. Menu options seldom change with very limited vegetarian/ vegan options. Ordered a trio of bar snacks last time- cheesy garlic bread lacked both garlic butter and cheese, the halloumi fries were nice but the chipotle jam had been watered down into a tasteless runny liquid which dripped straight off the cheese fries and the chorizo was very salty. All in all disappointed. Will think twice before ordering food here again.

Very cosy pub, tucked away on the Trent bank. Surprisingly spacious but cosy at the same time. Decor is very nice, service very promt, prices are what you would expect for this type of venue

The situation of this establishment is lovely as is the interior . However the Indulgent Lasagne that my sister and I had the misfortune to order was appalling . Never in my 72 years have I been served up such a terrible meal .There was a layer of pasta followed by a thin tomatoey looking sauce that contained no beef and was in fact just slop . Followed then by another layer of pasta with cheese on top . If you go to this Inn to eat order the pie of the day if you can get one avoid the Indulgent Lasagne like the plague

Had a lovely meal here on Monday the 13th with a friend and my friend has some allergies and we was served by a pleasant young lady called sophie she was very helpful in helping us decide on our meal thank you sophie you are a credit to this establishment.

Lacked any festival feel. The food was cold and the extra items ordered were undercooked. I was disappointed with the meal considering the price is quite high for a pub meal. Would think twice about going again.

Cosy pub on the river for families/couples or small groups. Allows dogs. Has a great fire place and in the Summer a great outdoor area.

The place itself and the location are excellent. We got there for a late Saturday lunch as the earliest time we could get a table, so the service was a bit slow at first. But we were late enough for the main lunchtime crowd to leave and the place empty out. As a result we ended up spending 4 hours over a very leisurely meal without being rushed out or feeling at all pressured by the staff. I had the pie, which was more crust than filling, although both were excellent. Overcooked carrots and sprouts were a disappointment. The others in the party had no issues at all with their orders.

Always use this pub when in the area and it is always 5* went in there for breakfast this morning and we were not disappointed. We were served by Kian and he was attentive and professional without being overbearing. Yet again a lovely experience thank you

Great food staff and atmosphere

I very much enjoyed the atmosphere and staff. It was a nice night. It being located next to the canal is great for an after dinner walk.

The best pub in the area! Excellent location , wonderful decoration and good food. The dedicated and friendly staff members go above and beyond to ensure that every customer feels welcome and well taken care of. I highly recommend it .

Roast potatoes had been around to long and gone chewy. We were brought the wrong hot puddings and they were cold too. lol

Food was great - but again only luke warm. This is the second time this has happened. I believe the food came from the kitchen hot - but was put on cold plates. So halfway through eating, the food was only luke warm. Please put the food on hot plates. Most other restaurants do this. However, it's a nice place to eat and would recommend.

Chose here to celebrate our anniversary. Very slow poor service. A couple of staff were too busy chatting to care. Good food, shame we couldn't wait any longer for a desert.

The male member of staff that served us was excellent and went out of his way to make sure I was ok as I have Yeast and soya allergies.He was polite,helpful and nothing was too much trouble.This was the first meal we have had but will definitely be going again as we have moved within the area.The food was excellent.

The food was fabulous all 5 of us had a different dish. It all arrived together, lovely and hot and we all enjoyed our choice. Even my very fussy 89 year old dad, who ate every piece of his steak. He even ate all of the triple cooked chips which were also delicious. The staff went the extra mile to ensure the desserts and coffees finished the wonderful visit in style. We visited on a busy Saturday, despite the kitchen having issues caused by the weather and a mix up with our booking from our side the staff were amazing at accommodating us. We had a wonderful meal, all the staff were helpful and friendly. Thank you for a fabulous experience.

Great food and lovely cosy atmosphere

We drove up for Sunday lunch and a walk by the river. We had three courses as well as drinks, and were taken care of by several lovely servers, including Katie who was fab. Our camembert starter was delicious, and the rib-eye steak was incredible, absolutely melt in the mouth. I really enjoyed my pork belly Sunday dinner as well, very flavourful, would be helpful to be served with a steak knife though as it was difficult to cut with the normal dinner knife! Had the mini desserts and hot drinks to round it off, a great visit, we’ll be back! :)

Popped in this afternoon on a bike ride. Fist time I've been here but still definitely go again. It was a beautiful place to stop and sit in the garden and inside was beautiful as well. I saw other people's food coming out and it looked delicious. I'll definitely be coming back again

Plenty of outside seating for when the sun shines, as well as inside tables. We enjoyed a variety of lunchtime snacks which we ordered online via the Trent Lock app. Only snag was the onion rings did not arrive with the order and we had to ask for them. Food all freshly made and tasty. Good choice of soft drinks and non alcoholic beers. A pleasant pub by the canal

I haven't been for years and it was really refreshing to visit The Trent Lock. I could not fault the food...it was brilliant. I had the steak and was cooked perfectly. The staff were attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and a really nice place to have a meal. I will definitely be returning.

We walked down from Attenborough and were looking forward to a good pub feed - we weren't disappointed. Our server, Lucie, was very helpful and friendly. Sat outside with our dog and everything was spot on - food was good and all eaten up, and the drinks were perfect. Well worth the walk.

My waitress Lucie saved my life. I thought I'd be sneaky and bring in some outside food to snack on while I waited for my dazzling meal. I'm a big girl you see, I gotta have those snacks in between meals. But lo and behold, I started to choke on that sneaky snack! I could feel myself turning blue in the face, the world was going dark... and suddenly, a great warmth enveloped me. Lucie had grabbed me and was performing the hemleich maneuver on me! But that's not all, she ended it with the cleanest suplex I've seen in my life! Lucie is a true hero, I'm so happy she was my waitress and was able to save my life.

Honestly the best place i've been a woman Lucie came up to me to help me get my order and that and it was a very kind and warming place to be around and the food was excellent i'll definetly come back again if given the chance
