Been a few times now and the staff are always so helpful and attentive. Food is delicious and the atmosphere is always lovely. Will be back again soon ☺️

not a review I ever thought I would write about this place but the last 2 times the service has been shocking, last night we waited 25 minutes for a drinks order, and after 40 minutes of being there I had to ask for someone to take our food order, there were a few tables that had already been served and staff standing about, so being busy wasn't an excuse the sharer came and we had to ask for bread for the cheese, then our mains were over cooked not like it was months ago.

Nipped in for dinner on the way home from work, Staff were very welcoming and friendly, Food was delicious and piping hot. Massive shout out to Josh for the recommendations, your customer service is impressive Josh!!

Food was Delicious nice and hot and very tasty! The service was pretty quick too I was quite suprised for how busy it was! The price very reasonable, Manager & Staff were very friendly! This pub is local to us so its Ideal for us! I definately would recommend booking as in the warm weather this pub gets busy! Thank you for a very enjoyable visit ❤️

Went here with my family on Sunday for a family meal as we dont catch uo often enough! And all of our meals were beautiful! Everyone complimented on how fast the food arrived! And how tasty it was! The kids ate all their chicken nuggets which is a first! We booked a table for my mums birthday on friday aswell as we were that impressed! Thank you

Went in for lunch 12o’clock , brunch menu was on the bar . Barmaid was crouched putting things away , took her couple mins to acknowledge us and we were talking amongst ourselves so she knew we were there . No smile or apology . Just looking at the brunch menu and the manager came over and just said it’s finished no offer of where the lunch menu was , no smile either . Food arrived , was warm not hot parts of it was cold , taste was ok . We had 3 starters as they didn’t do sandwiches , just told to fetch own condiments and cutlery and the cloth and cleaner to wipe the table in amongst it all ( didn’t look nice) . Used to be much better , sorry

Daughters pasta was cold, partners steak tough and then to cap it all a dog did a poo near our table (indoors(. We couldn’t carry on eating and immediately left. After complaining we were told that “these things happen occasionally”. Well a proper apology would have been nice. Will not be returning - value your customers more!

Asked for pinot blush. Was not what I got. Too dark for pinot Asked for chicken burger with honey. Was so greasy when mentioned to server I was told that’s honey. I do know the difference between grease and honey. Wasn’t nice. Menu was nothing like what was on website. Will never return

We had a lovely lunch.The service was excellent, from the friendly greeting to the ending goodbye. The girls were attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good. Well presented and tasty. My salmon was cooked perfectly. It was arelly nice lunch. Thank you 😊

Food was lovely, one of best burgers I've had however Staff were clearly talking to us behind our backs, pointing at us and covering there mouths with menus. Made the meal awkward and uncomfortable

Me and my partner came on Valentine’s Day for food and I ordered a sirloin with peppercorn sauce I ate some and it was sent back as even the chips were hard. Since then I have had awful food poisoning, sickness and diarrhoea.. even to the point it caused acute pancreatitis due to the amount I was sick. I have contacted Harrington arms left messages, have had no response from a manager or the owner. I am appalled by this pub I wouldn’t recommend to anyone as they clearly have some sort of food hygiene problem.

Our waitress Liv was very attentive and friendly. The food was fabulous, especially the sticky toffee pudding! Excellent value and a lovely cosy setting.

The food was nice but expensive but the establishment was very cold including in the main part the small area seems like no heating was on the toilets was clean but cold water to wash hands was not even warm after my meal I had to put my coat on and many other people who was having there food kept there coats on when I ordered my meal by the app was no table numbers on any of the tables I had to ask what was the table number was the staff was nice but very quiet towards to each other not very friendly atmosphere I probably will no go back there again seems unfriendly atmosphere

We do "secret shopper" for Green King and this is one of the few Pubs we choose to spend our own money in. On this occasion it was for my birthday treat. All food was cooked to perfection and portion sizes were good. I have only given it 4 stars because a) although I booked and reserved the table for 2 plus 2 dogs the day before, they did not reserve the table and someone was sitting at my table of choice (this has happened the last 2 times I have booked here) , b) nobody asked if our meal was okay whilst we were eating (not a big deal as everything was okay, but it is on the Green King's checklist), c) nobody asked if we wanted deserts, or cleared our plates within 15 minutes of us finishing the meal. d) Sadly we were forgotten about and had to go to the bar to ask to pay our bill. We were prepared to pay a £10 tip but felt they did not deserve it. There doesn't seem to be a dress code for staff as the waitress felt it was appropriate to show off her bare stomach! Not a sight we wanted to see for lunch! Such a shame that we don't feel our £60 payment for lunch was appreciated. There are plenty of alternatives who would make us feel more welcome.

Lovely venue. Clean and great atmosphere with friendly, hard working staff who were attentive. Good value delicious food. Went for Christmas outing with work colleagues.

Had Christmas dinner at the Harrington with my parents. And it was absolutely lovely food was nice and hot. Staff were very good and accommodating. Left feeling very full and happy. Will book for2025 highly recommended 👍🏼

Overall a good experience. Bit disappointed that we made the waitress aware of an allergy and were told that because it wasn't one of the 14 they weren't allowed to check with the kitchen about if some of the foods contained it. Made eating a bit nerve wracking as I was watching my husband constantly for signs of a reaction. They did make his food with an allergy and as he didn't react then I think they were careful, nevertheless it was pretty poor they couldn't, or wouldn't, check for an allergen. The service other than this was pretty good but I don't think I'd go back, when I go out for a meal I want to relax, not stress about whether I'm going to have to rush to a&e.

The two stars are for the lovely young waiters who were friendly. The customer service in general was the worst i've ever experienced. On arrival said we had no booking. Wanted to see confirmation email still said no booking until my sister saw the booking on their computer screen! No acknowledgement no apology just a smile-less 'follow me'. My food was awful. Grilled salmon. The salmon was fine, prawns inedible like rubber and the veggies all completely undercooked, pale and tepid. All very dry. I complained and they brought another which was marginally better, ie I ate the fish and potatoes but the 'char grilled' veg was still raw. No apology and in fact the man walked off from me while i was talking. We ordered more drinks - they did not arrive! My sisters meat pie pastry was a hockey puck. She was unable to eat it and he took it away to 'look at it'. He didn't return. They removed the fish dish from the bill , we paid and left. All a shame as the restaurant area looked great. We wouldn't return or recommend.

The food at this restaurant was exceptional and offered at a fantastic price. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Our server, Renata, was absolutely amazing—so friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel welcome from start to finish. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the wonderful service!

Stopped off for light lunch with a friend. Warm welcome, excellent service. We both chose steak ciabatta. Nicely presented, fries perfectly cooked, steak tasty but very chewy. Had to be taken out the ciabatta to eat,maybe steak knives would be better. Reasonable price.

Mid week, early evening meal . For a large pub it has a cosy feel. Staff were lovely and food was very nice. Will visit again! 😊

The Katsu chicken is normally spot on but tonight it was a little too crispy. Chips had not been cooked long enough and were white with a texture of undercooked potato. However, service was great for a busy night

Limited selection of beers recently. OK food at average prices. Outside seating area in the summer. Olde world style pub. Staff OK but not exactly helpful. Free Car Park.

Called in when passing, not been before. Had a lovely meal. One gluten-free and one normal. Would Definitely recommend to family and friends. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

I suppose this place is ok if you need to eat quickly but it is what it is - pub grub. It lacks taste, seasoning and could do with being a bit hotter. I've been around 8 times over the years and I don't think it's improved at all in that time but some friends wanted to go there. If I go again I'll just order soup and a roll as nothing I've tried excites me sorry.

A very expensive Sunday carvery, the beef was very undercooked, I complained it was that bad but they replaced the whole meal with extra pork instead.. .

Don't order the vegan avocado and toast. Barely a smear of avocado and no substi tution for egg but same price as non vegan (which alone was hardly worth the money). Breakfast baps looked good though.

Didn't have food but there was a festival on and it were packed. I guess not the fault of the pub but feffivately spoilt the meeting up with friends bit.

Food was disappointing, only 3 pieces of chicken in the Fajitas and the crumble was pretty tasteless. Somehow ended up with an upset stomach the next day. Work that one out.

The Harrington Arms has the best beer garden in Sawley, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good service. Convenient location with car park.

Been here a few times and unfortunately always been disappointing. The food is poor, meat usually either cold or overcooked, with vegetables looking old or just of poor quality. The food just looks like it’s been stood around too long or is straight from the freezer. The staff seem tense, angry and rushed, there also always seems to be something wrong between everyone. I would not recommended, not only because of the food, but the atmosphere isn’t very welcoming and I was always glad to leave.

We've been here a few times and the food has been good. However today the veg was cold, the meat cold the vegan pie uneatable, the roast potatoes rock hard. Several other couples around pub were saying the same. The kitchen really let there waiters down. We will give it a miss for awhile now in the hopes they improve standards. It felt more like a hungry horse than a pub and grill. And reading the latest reviews today isn't isolated.

Food delivered very slowly, with big gaps between dishes so we couldn't eat at the same time. Two dishes overcooked, looked like they had been reheated (pastry the consistency of concrete). When we gave feedback we were offered free desserts, loudly, in front of our kids - fine, except we weren't going to have any and have birthday cake at home for my son.

The staff there were very good, the food was nice and fresh, a very good place for any one looking for somewhere good for a beer and some food, both are very good, I would recommend the Harrington Arms to anyone.

It's a great pub with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The landlord is fantastic. Great rapport with everyone. Her regulars obviously love her.

Great experience and lovely garden. Been here a few times recently for drinks and food ,always excellent service and good value tasty food. The garden is great and looks better and better every visit someone clearly takes great care and puts lots of effort and into making it the best outside space in the area. Thanks will be back soon.

I had the Sunday roast and the vegetables were too hard. I won’t be returning for the roast.

Salmon was absolutely delicious I can only comment on this pudding was OK probably just could of done with a bit more taste

Food really disappointing took dad for 91st Birthday. Hunters chicken absolutely awful, re-heated rubbish. Mixed grill, food not browned enough and tasteless. Way over priced for what it was. Wouldnt recommend and wouldn't go back. Complete waste of money 😒😒

Very busy as the England match was on. The service was friendly and efficient. Food was a little pricey. Great mixed grill but the steak was medium and I asked for medium rare. Never seen hunters chicken like it. Normally you would get a whole breast but this was more like a casserole. Very stingy with the ice cream. Thanks to the football the car park was full. We had to park at another pub down the road.

Vegan pie on the Sunday lunch menu was inedible. Establishments should educate themselves on vegan (or GF or dairy-free etc) options. If they provide a vegan option, they should also ensure that it is delicious. Otherwise, just don't include it on the menu! Service was very friendly though.

The food here is as good as it gets with better service you couldn't ask for Large garden to rear lots of seating inside and out it's a treat going here If your a big eater try the ultimate burger and double up The chicken katsu curry is bloody lovely as well

Came here to pick up a "Too good to go " bag of carvery trimmings. Had to pick up at 20.15. Told the staff I was there, no complaints about staff or waiting time. When I got back home, I looked in the box to see: peas, carrots, stuffing balls, loads of roast potatoes, and one big Yourkshire pudding.... No meat from the carvery whatsoever, and no gravy... !!! UPDATE: Got another "Too good to go" bag , but this time it was a 'carvery Sunday lunch meal'. And it was well worth waiting for - I really, really enjoyed it. Loads of juicy slices of meat, carrots , broccoli, peas , stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, and roast potatoes to die for...... Amazing meal....👍👍👍 I would recommend it....😋😋😋😋. Staff are really accommodating, and friendly too....👏👏👏

Lovely lunch in a friendly pub in Sawley. We took Mum for her birthday and the landlady had attached a couple of balloons on her chair, very thoughtful touch. The food was excellent, we had squid to start and then salmon, chicken skewers and fish and chips, all delicious. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Great place to eat whilst on route to East Midland airport. Large portions.

Very busy and popular family eating with outside areas and play spaces too. Just enough parking. Lots of food choices but only lamb was a starter. Cooked well and good quality ingredients. Tender steak but salmon needs a sauce or something as is otherwise a dry meal. Staff friendly and helpful stayed in good form even with children making mess on floor! Decor a little tired but functional.

Lime and soda is usually lime cordial and soda water. Not a piece of lime stuck in a glass of soda water and charged £3.30?
