Whenever we visit Bridlington it is always a great pleasure to call into The Trawl and have our Fish and Chips Special, a lovely portion of Haddock/Cod and Chips served with Tea or Coffee and a Buttered Bread Roll.. Everything is served Hot and Well Cooked.. The Cafe is kept Clean and tidy and the Tables are cleared quite quickly after the diners have departed.. The Service is always friendly and courteous. I have used this establishment many times over the years with my family and will continue to do so.

You will not beat this place for Quality, Taste, Service & Value for money in Bridlington. They know what they are doing at this very old established Fish & Chip takeaway & Restaurant. We have visited many other fish & chip shops in Bridlington before but this place is the best. The portions are not the biggest, so if you looking for quantity over quality you will not get it here. What you will get is the best tasting Fish & Chips you’ve ever tasted, guaranteed served with a smile. Also the food is cooked to order and it’s not from frozen like some of their competitors.

Visited here with family a couple of times in the last month or so. The service was good with friendly staff. The fish we had was white and soft with light crispy batter. Choice of Cod or Haddock. Skin was on fish, which I personally like. Portion size okay for the money. It was clean inside the eating area. Not sure if the fish here is cooked from fresh or frozen fillets. I'm not sure how many fish and chip shops would be cooking from fresh nowadays anyway, even at the seaside. Will visit again.

Having not long arrived into Bridlington after a decent drive fish and chips here was a welcome treat. We opted for the cod chips and drink special along with sausage chips and gravy for our child. At just over £20 this was more than good value and the warmth from the staff amidst the obvious restrictions around Covid 19 was clear to see. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We went on a day visit to Brid last Thursday 27th June. Unsure of where to find a good lunch, we asked 2 ladies who worked in one of the shops. They both recommended this place. e went on a walk around first and then returned to The Trawl. The time was about 1.30pm and on entering there was only 1 other table occupied, which is sometimes not a good sign. However the waitress came over immediately and took our drinks order, returning shortly afterwards for our menu choices. We both chose haddock, chips and peas. These arrived quickly and were very good. The batter on the fish was exactly right and the chips were cooked to perfection. My partner had just one small complaint in that the peas arrived on top of the chips which he said made the chips a bit soggy. I did not mind this at all. The meal was reasonably priced and the service could not have been better. As we were leaving I noticed a board on the wall which held old postcards and we spent about 10 mins reading these and having a chuckle.

Stumbled across this hidden gem whilst visiting the area in Mid May. A proper Fish n Chip shop serving proper fish n chips. The restaurant is accessed from the main take-away counter. Simply laid out, very clean and welcoming in an old fashion way. The menu was the usual assortment of Fish, Pies, Sausages etc. But the stand out deal is Fish n Chips, Bread and butter and a drink. We chose the Cod deal, and when it arrived it was a nice portion, cooked fresh, and baking hot. Perfectly complementing the roll and butter and nice strong tea. Our server was quick and happy. So what more do you want at a bargain price - Good fresh Food. Good Service and homely atmosphere. One not to miss.

I did my research before a day trip to Brid which was to include a fish and chip lunch and this restaurant was my choice. From the outside the place looked attractive and welcoming and inside it was quite basic and just what you want for a chippy. When we entered we asked a couple what it was like and they said they were regular customers and thought it was excellent. We ordered what was a set meal of fish and chips with bread and butter and a cup of tea, all for £6.20 each. It was just before midday and the table were gradually filling up with regulars. The food was served very quickly and was hot and fresh. The batter was excellent and the fish, haddock, was succulent. Chip were hot and a good size. It was a good plate of fish and chips for a lunch but if I was to eat there for a dinner in the evening I would order a larger piece of fish. I would recommend this restaurant without reservation.

We went here for a traditional Fish and Chip lunch and we got exactly that. Lovely Cod, authentic chips with a cup of tea and bread and butter. All for £6 per head. The portions are just right, not too large that you must leave some and not too small you feel there isn’t enough. The staff are friendly and very talkative. The decor in the café part is just like a 70s chips shop was. Which I like very much.

Called in here today at about 4pm on a misty Sunday afternoon. Four of us had the "Trawl special" fish and chips with a cup of tea in the cafe, and all four plates were completely clean at the end. Chips were soft in the middle with a nice brown crispy edge. Batter was lovely and crispy and the plate did not have a pool of grease on it, the fish tasted and looked great. We used to get fish and chips from the harbor side, we will come here in future. Great food, great service, thank you! Look out for the till which is like a flash back from Arkwright's, and is still used today.

We visited the the trawl on 29th July 2016. The restaurant and take away are just up from the sea front. This place is a classic in a few ways.Firstly the classic saying "don't judge a book by its cover" is very true. The restaurant has a 1960s 70s retro look. All the looks are original not modern retro recreations. For example the till is like the one from open all hours. Second this place serves up classic fish and chips that I remember from my childhood. Fish lightly battered, fresh as it comes and chips golden. Lastly the classic price £5.70 to eat in fish, chips, bread and a cup of tea. Now who can complain at that? The reviews are true and I believe that this is the best in town. So meal for three adults and child was £20. Give this place a try its a classic.

What can I say? Always friendly, cheerful and attentive, they can't do enough for you.Now for the really important stuff - the food!If you can find better fish and chips with a 20 mile radius, I salute you!The food is delicious, every single time ( and we go around 5 or 6 times per year ).What about value? Again, excellent. The specials include Cod or Haddock ( you are always asked for your preference ) with perfect chips, a buttered breadcake ( as we call 'em in Yorkshire! ) and a cup of coffee or tea,all for around £6!A great little business who deserve your custom, and you deserve their great food!

This fish shop has a restaurant/cafe sests about 40 people. I have been visiting this Fish restaurant since the early 80's when I used to bring bus loads of people for lunch. The owner, who is still the owner would let us have a bingo and a raffle whilst there. .It was an over 60's club the eldest member was 92yrs old. Sadly all these people have past on now however they certainly made some great memories in The Trawl. I still visit regulary with my husband. The fish is so white and very fresh. You can buy a fish special yea coffee bread and butter..There are lots to chose from on the Menu. The other Fish and Chip restaurants nearby are much more expensive and not as good. This restaurant and takeaway looks very ordinary at face value and we only found it by accident on a wet Monday lunchtime in Brid. Fish and chips were excellently cooked backed up by efficient and friendly service. Very good value for money, really can't fault it.

Went there Saturday tea time and had Fish and Chips , the fish was on the small side but was ok and the chips were a bit over cooked so left most of them ....

Decor looks like a throwback to the 80s and we all enjoyed a blast from the past. Restaurant was clean, service was friendly & speedy and the fish & chips were fantastic! Special for just £5.40 including a drink. We will definitely come again when in Bridlington.

The best Fish and Chip shop and cafe in Bridlington. I have used this eatery for 35 years and it has never disappointed me. Owned by Ian who is also the chef for all the years I can remember you are made welcome on every visit. My wife and I travel from Castleford regularly and never miss a visit. Don't expect too much of the eating area but what he serves is delicious and outweighs the not so modern interior.

Just off the main promenade is this very down to earth fish and takeaway restaurant. No fancy decorations etc but very good quality fish and chips served to order . Good portions and very good prices. All staff very friendly with speedy service.

The Trawl looks like many other fish and chip shops/cafes but the quality of their meals is very high. We visited the cafe with two grandchildren and were extremely pleased with the friendly service and great value. The interior is clean, bright and unpretentious. Tea is served in cups, not pots, there are no desserts and they don't take credit/debit cards but we would certainly go back to enjoy what they do very well - great food!

We called into this place for lunch yesterday having not heard anything of it before. Had fish, chips, bread and butter and a drink for just over a fiver. I can't remember ever having nicer fish and chips than these - beautiful fish with very tasty and not greasy batter. The home made fishcake I pinched a piece of from my son's plate was excellent too. We would go out of our way to go back again. Definitely recommended!

Spent half an hour searching for a place rated higher on TripAdvisor but all were closed. Had this place recommended by friends so took the plunge. It was excellent food, highly recommended.

The fish and chips were good, but the cafe could do with its facilities modernising and updating, staff were great, very friendly and the place was clean, overall good value for money

Was walking around Bridlington and had promised my daughters fish and chips at the seaside. Saw this place with a seating area which was great. (Its all well and good trying to get a 6 and 7 year old to eat outside but not ideal). The décor is a bit dated but other than that the staff were very friendly and the food is AMAZING,So good in fact that I didn't want to leave any but they gave us such a big portion I couldn't manage it all, It was just over a fiver each for fish, chips, bread roll and a drink. Bargino. This was our first visit to Bridlington and we will visit just for the fish and chips when we are in the area.

As a local,,this place still rules for fish and chips,,,Too many chips seem anaemic these days,,,but here the chips are double cooked which gives them depth in flavour and texture,,,,,,As well as friendly staff,it all adds to an enjoyable fish n tatty experience,Please try this establishment,,,it's simply the best!:)

I regularly travel to visit the trawl for fish and chips! I was surprised to see where it was ranked on trip advisor so was compelled to review! The food quality and service is second to none! Freshly cooked by the owner who is always there and has been for as long as I can remember! Definately worth a visit for fish and chips for 2 people for about a tenner!

We stopped in on a Tuesday late afternoon. There was only one table occupied so it was nice and quiet. We both had double scoop cones. There were loads of ice cream flavours to choose from. Yummy.

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you

We booked into the lodges next to the Gardeners Inn and decided to walk around for dinner & drinks. The venue is decorated for Halloween which I did enjoy and we had a lovely welcome from the waitress. A few item were sold out but the menu was plentiful and the food did not disappoint. I had the sizzling hunters chicken and my partner had Korean Chicken. Portion size was fantastic the side salad & slaw was fresh, definitely the best hunters chicken I’ve had. Banoffee Pie & cream for dessert again it was better than any other I’ve tried. Lovely atmosphere, service time felt right for the number of tables eating and the price was reasonable. Would recommend 100%
