We had our engagement party here on the 3rd August, fantastic night had by all, buffet was brilliant everyone enjoyed the food, dj kept everyone on the dance floor, staff worked very hard making sure drinks kept flowing, overall a fantastic night would highly recommend for any functions. Thank you to all the management and staff for helping make our night one to remember.

I can honestly, say that the experience we have had on our wedding day was absolutely fabulous, the owners went above and beyond in every way, service was amazing, and the food was great, they set the tables out beautifully and there was Prosecco waiting as we arrived. Could not have wished for a better day, thank you to all the staff x

Great pub, with friendly staff. Just popped in for a drink when passing, not stopped before. I think next time I will try the food as it looked good.

We used the Trafalgar for my mother in laws wake . Madge was wonderful on our enquiry and listened to what we wanted The food was outstanding , the room was set up with coffee tea and memory table with beautiful candle . Cannot thank the Trafalgar enough they went over and beyond and made a very difficult day so much easier Thank you to Mike Madge and their staff

Visited tonight for the quiz, had food and drinks with the family. Quiz was absolutely smashing!! Loved doing it on the tablet the host and atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend. Will be coming again next week !

As always a lovely meal. Our share starter could have been to feed 4 ! We had a mixed grill and lasagna and both were lovely. Service was prompt and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. Neither of us could manage a pudding but we will be back very soon and maybe next time we can manage that pudding!

stopped in after visiting the firework display in Hednesford. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Although the kitchen had closed when we arrived the menu looked very appealing, and at a reasonable price, with a nice choice of drinks. And very family friendly in the lounge. I think we will be visiting this pub again.

What a night we went for the boo bingo event, what a fantastic night,the decorations,atmosphere were truly amazing, everyone had a fantastic night, all the team worked so hard making sure everyone was served quickly and efficiently and everything ran smoothly. Top night can't wait for the next one.

Massively improved since the takeover, totally different atmosphere. The staff were all friendly & welcoming and the food hot & tasty. Overall an excellent meal and excellent service. Very glad to have a local that's worth a visit.

I am a local for many years, and have got to say that the pub is well and truly and the road back to the good times. Madge and Mike have done a great job over the past couple of months, and have a feeling that things are only going to go from strength to strength.

Visited to the pub today with friends to eat and although busy staff were eager to serve quickly.All our food was nicely presented and such good value for money. The women enjoyed the gin and the boys were spoilt for choice with the array of beers on offer.Very friendly staff, many pubs could have some lessons in management from this one. Obviously a popular pub as very busy so a great atmosphere!Would definitely recommend, couldn’t think of any to fault.

There were two of us out for a meal early on a Friday evening and went to the Traff to see how the refurb had gone. We walked in to a sea of reserved tables at 5.20pm, hardly any of which were used during our...

People on here seem to be missing the point that the Traf was a popular local pub and hub of the community for a long time, as it still is, and long, long before it became known as a food venue. The food can admittedly be a little hit and miss sometimes, but if you take into account changing management, brewery control restrictions, etc. It still remains an excellent local pub which, most of the time still provides good food. We use it more for food than a meeting place these days, but will continue to value it as one of our locals. We are lucky, us 'chavs' have several real locals within walking distance of the Traf. Bet the so called 'foodies' with their obsessive number of Trip Adviser reviews don't!

Visited the trafalgar for a family meal, after hearing they have a new chef who is well known to the area. Food was excellent lovely staff and a really fast service. I felt a really homely feeling was a pleasure to visit, will defo b back

Visited the Trafalgar last night 7.3.16 on the long walk home from the car garage in cannock where the poorly car now is. Could have got the bus here but decided on a walk for fitness until we fell into the Traff...oops.Haven't been into the Traf for a long long time. It's on the Littleworth Road on the left hand side as you head upto Rawnsley, a couple of miles from Cannock town centre.Thought he pub was really well presented. The service was really good and friendly. The bar staff were very well presented.The pub looked very clean and tidy, as were the toilets. Saw food coming out and it looked fine and certainly no complaints. The pub has a large dining room one side and the pub side is also big. Pool table, sky and I think BT sport.Ales were great. They had 3 Witchwood ales on and Pedigree. I had Pedigree and several of the pale ales. Fantastic pints after the absolute insult I was served in cannock before walking up, which I couldn't finish. In terms of the food I can't feedback as we didn't try any. However every time I drive past here in the evenings the car park is packed and the same at weekends. There's also quite a big children's play area at the back of the pub.I spoke to the landlady and she fed back they are full every weekend for food and do a good trade in the week.Yep. Definitely worth a visit. I think you'll get real value for money on both food and drink. It's also somewhere you could bring your family in the day time or go out with your mates evening time. We have eaten here lots of times and it's always been pretty good - service-wise and food-wise. However, I mistakenly ordered the half a chicken - it was basically a very very small wing of a very very small chicken! The waiter didn't ask is if our meals were ok (as they normally do), nor did he ask us after we had finished (as they normally do), so not very impressed Traf - train your staff and give some decent portion sizes - must do better!

Came here on spec for a late sunday lunch after failing to get into the turf. Plenty of tables free and we were served by a very friendly member of staff. I had broccoli and stilton soup which was quite nice and dad had breaded mushrooms which he said were nice and a good portion. We both had beef roasts which came with all the trimmings. The portions and veg choice were good with stuffing , Yorkshire and pot of gravy. Only gripe was the beef , it was edible but certainly not melt in the mouth beef but for the price we paid it was fair enough. Would return though again , pleasant staff and surroundings. They had an outside play area which would be great for young families or a summer night outside.

We had intended to go to Weatherspoons in Hednesford but there were no tables free, so went to the Trafalgar. About a 40 minute wait but food was very good and at a good price. Waitresses a bit dopey and clearly conditioned to ask the question "Is your meal ok", which was annoying but overall, the food won out!

My partner and I went for late lunch here today...and we are glad that we did. He had the Boss Burger and I had Steak and Eggs with rice. Requested for the steak to be medium rare and it was cooked absolutely beautiful - tender, juicy and seasoned just right. The burger was a good-sized portion and delicious with freshly baked chips. Their Staff are nice and well-trained with their Customer Service. We'd highly recommend The Traf to locals and tourists alike.

Good value pub grub at competitive prices. Bit of a wait but the pub was very busy being a Friday night. Steaks were well cooked and the staff are very friendly.

We have eaten here a few times now. I would recommend the food off the home cooked food menu at the bar. The beer garden behind the pub is a suntrap so dont forget your sun cream.

Took young granddaughters for a meal, didn't have to wait long for our meals, the food was very tasty, all of us enjoyed our meals. The staff were polite and friendly. The pub and the toilets was immaculately clean, well decorated making it feel light and airyGreat play area outside, as well as the 2 outside seating areas. Wished the weather had been warmer as we would have stayed longer as girls were loving the play area.Would recommend for people with or without children

Been here many times, very friendly pub,they do a cheap deal before 5pm,only £6.50 plenty to eat also you get a pint with that , love the fish and chips, homemade, also been here at night time for a drink and everyone speaks so friendly

Been here on numerous occasions as its local to us, and never had a bad experience. If you eat before 430-5pm, Monday to Saturday, then you can get a great deal. You can have a three course meal and a pint of beer/lager/pop for £6.50. Now that is outstanding value for money! Plus the food is delicious and of modest portion size.The staff are really pleasant and the waiting time was good. Well worth a visit

Been here a number of times now. Staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. This is a chain pub but don't be put off by that. The food is consistent and well worth a visit.

Typical local pub quality with some good value specials on offer.When busy the service tends to be a little slow but I suppose one can expect that.

have been to this oub a couple of times the thursday night grill night is a must the grills come with a pint of ale the mixed grill are delicious and well worth tryingthey also host a fun quiz on thursdays a good night out

Arrived at pub just after noon, ordered food and it went downhill from there. Only a few people in the pub and the food took 45 minutes to arrive. I ordered a curry which was watery and resembled a microwaved value meal from Iceland. I will not be returning or recommending.

Our food tonight took 1 and 3/4 hours to come out which is not acceptable, as ever the food itself was great and very good value for money.I know your kitchen is small but please have a think how you can get the food out quicker.Beer as ever was great!!

The pub stocks a good selection of ales (Cask) well kept , worth going if only for a nice drink of beer . The staff are very friendly and service is quick . The food is tipical pub Menue . About the right price and portions are adequate . I had the fish (battered cod) nice . The beer garden is kept clean and the grase short . There is a play area for children has a added bonus of the view of Hednesford Hills

Well, the title says it all. The managers Tony and Maria have always been accommodating every time we've been in, all bar staff are an absolute dream, prices are very reasonable for both food and drink. We've never had to return any meal, always been delicious. We used to come here years ago as it is our local and stopped because the managers at the time were rude and horrible to kids, I can assure you this isn't the case now. Tony and Maria transformed this place overnight. Personally I think some folk just like to come on here for a moan as nearly all of these reviews bear no resemblance to the pub we visit on a regular basis.

After reading these reviews I was worried about coming back here as it's been taken over since we last came a good few months ago.Plenty of bar staff and our food and drinks order was all correct. Took quite a while for the food but it was pretty busy. Food was the same as it used to be, good and value for money.

Me and two of my friends went here for lunch on her birthday a few weeks ago. After looking on the menu, we noticed that they did a starter and a light main course for £4.50. Seeing as this was a good deal we decided to go for this, me and one other of my friends ordered the nacho starter and then the bbq chicken melt baguette for the main, which when the manager Tony took our order, we specifically said "BBQ chicken melt baguette". The starters came out fine, although from a waitress who looked like she was chewing a wasp! Then out she came with the mains, she brought over two, what looked like a mouthful of chicken with a bit of BBQ sauce on and about 5 chips. She said 2 Chicken New Yorks, or something along those lines, and we said there not for us. so she went oh and walked back to the kitchen in a strop. About 2 minutes later the manager who took our order headed over to our table with the meals. He was demanding that we had ordered these meals else he wouldnt have put the order through, but after he kept saying pardon, i guess he was a little deaf so i put the mistake down to that. But he then began to tell us that he wouldnt be replacing the meal and we werent allowed to have our money back. the way he was shouting at me and my friend, I felt like i was back at high school being told off, which is an absolute disgusting way to talk to your customers, and considering we were 1 of 2 tables that were actually in there it wasnt like he could afford to turn the custom away. When we said we were not going to be eating it, he said do what you want with it then and just threw it down on the end of the table. Any decent manager, would have gone and got a fresh meal that we had actually ordered! And it wasnt even like he would have to recook the meal, as it was the same chicken that goes in the baguette so i couldnt see the issue in chopping the meat up and putting it in the baguette but he was clearly to thick and too tight to be thinking straight! I enjoyed this pub till he took over :)

My husband and i came to eat at The Trafalgar on 29/03/2014, We where very unhappy with the service and will not be returning, we ordered a 3 course and a 2 course meal, after ordering our starter It came out with in 10 minutes, the breaded mushrooms where over cooked but where edable so we didnt complain. Sadly our main course took over an hour to arrive and when we complained to the landlord he didn't really care and said it would be with us soon. When it did arrive my husbands toasted sandwich melt was not melted so we asked for it sending back and doing correctly, when the food came back out all they had done was put the sandwich back under the grill and BURNT the bread, but at least the cheese was melted! needless to say we sent it back and asked to see the manager. The response and attitude from the manger was, rude, brisk and down right unprofessional, his words where "well do you want a refund or what?" we accepted a refund and the manager brought our money over and slammed it on the table and walked off.My husband and i are ex landlords and would never have dreamed of acting this way to any of our customers.I will not recommend this pub to any friends and i will not be going back.Disgusting service and management that needs to do a hospitality course asap.

Fish and chips were good, staff friendly, plenty choice of tables for a quiet meal. In reply to a previous comment it was a £20 steak and totally unreasonable not to eat it just because it supposedly hadn't been cooked the way she wanted it. Afterall it is not exactly a top London restaurant. I could understand if it was raw or burnt. Maybe it would have been more reasonsonable/sensible to have requested a discount rather than cause a scene over something so petty. A small struggling business simply can't afford to throw food out.

Call in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Looks like it has had a makeover since the last time I visited. I think it's the management team that need a makeover. No one seems to want to take your order and when they do don't expect a smile or even a thank you. Don't know why some people go into managing pubs when they obviously aren't cut out for it. The food was bland and tasteless. One place I won't be revisiting until there is a change in staffing.

I have visited a few Marstons pub/restaurants in this area and sadly this one is behind the standard off the others.I visited at lunchtime and it was rather quiet sadly the staff showed little interest in welcoming us and I had to go to the bar to ask for a table and menu. No staff came to the table for our order so I had to again go to the bar to order, sadly I thought staff service was poor. The food arrived in a reasonable time and it was good however I thought the menu was limited but OK if you wanted steak, pie or a burger. Also a limited sweet menu.There is not a relaxed, comfy chair area for after meal relaxation as the whole venue is furnished for dining so the all round dining experience is average. The Traff has been in this area for many years not the best area but I would not say "don't go" that would be unfair but I think there are better alternatives close by.

Food is always cooked to order comes out of the kitchen hot and is good value for money nice friendly staff who you get to know

We recently went her for a new year day meal with family and friends. We ordered our food at the bar but when it came out the waitress gave the meal to the wrong person giving the wrong information. I was then given a very well done steak to which I told them I did not order and sent it back I had ordered medium rare so a very big difference. The manager Tony then came back out with the well done steak and said that we had ordered it we had to have it to which again we pointed out I had not ordered that he refused to do anything about it saying it was a twenty pound steak and would not replace it. He then dumped it down at the end of the table and walked off so I was left without any food Tony was very rude to our party. We had children within the party and they had been asked to bring there food out with our starters the children had to wait 45 minutes they were young so got impatient. We told the waiters we were not happy with the food and asked to see Maria the other manager we waited over half an hour to see her to which she was also abusive towards us. Was not interested the order was wrong told us to go away and stuck her two fingers up at us on the way home. So I still didn't get any good nor did I get a refund. I would not recommend anyone to go there they are not bothered about your custom I think they both need to go on anger management courses they don't know how to treat people once they have got your money off you they don't care as u have to pay up front for your meal
