Went with family for a Sunday Lunch. The food was well-cooked and tasty. The one staff member was so polite and helpful. Sadly, she appeared to be the only front-of-house server on that day, so service was very slow. The home-cooked Sunday Lunch was well worth waiting for! Would return here again.

A repeat visit during our holidays. Great home cooked food and good value. Especially enjoyed the cooked breakfast and also the Sunday roast which was like a home cooked meal and plenty of it. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Shanklin

Having spotted the bar from our room in the hotel opposite we popped in for a drink on our first night in Shanklin. We got such a warm & friendly welcome that we went back on the following 3 nights. There was entertainment on Friday & Saturday evenings, but I was still able to chat with my husband without having to shout over the music. Rachel is probably one of the most caring people we have ever met and she certainly knows how to look after her customers. Thank you for helping to add some extra special memories to our holiday.

Visited on Thursday (19/9/24) for a meal prior to going to the theatre. Food excellent and service was good. A little confusing when paying as its advertised outside that Fish & Chips were £9.95 and we were charged £15.95... When queried were told it's only till 4pm... Please make the sign clearer to ensure customers are not misled.

Friendly welcome by the barman, quite a character, wanted feedback on the quality of his pint of Guinness - so great start. Ordered food, both meals were fab… but the Hunters Chicken certainly exceeded ALL expectations - fantastic - would highly recommend.

I’ve been asked by some guests of ours who don’t have internet access to write a review on their behalf. This place was brilliant during their visit to the Island and they ate their most nights. The Etheridge party particularly loved the Sunday roast. They came back to us raving about the quality and quantity of the delicious roast dinners they all had. I promised to write a review for them and I must say even though we are writing this in someone else’s behalf all our guests here at Grange Bank House love this place. The owners are really settled in and making a great job of taking care of people with great food and great weekend entertainments. The Etheridge party wanted to say a massive thank you and will look forward to booking with you again on their next visit. 10 out of 10. Such a great little place . Highly recommend by a little bed and breakfast. Thank you for taking f such great care of our guests .

I had the traditional fish and chips, onion rings on the side. Yes, I know, deep-fried food can be fatty, the fish (not fresh) was swimming in grease , as were the onion rings. When mentioning that fact, I got a cold, neutral reaction: oh, OK. No, it wasn’t and isn’t. I saw only one member of staff, she was really trying to manage everything: the terrace, guests inside, drinks and food and she kept her cool while doing so. Advice: book at the Village Inn or Pavarotti’s well in advance and, at the best, have a drink at Braddhaw’s and enjoy your proper meal at the aforementioned restaurants.

We visited last week and both eat the sea bass which was wonderful. The whole experience was without fault and the food was expertly cooked and presented. It was also very hot which is unusual these days. So good was our experience we returned the following day, this time having the salmon - again this was excellent.

Visited for a family meal for my birthday as our favourite restaurant was closed. We had high hopes but thought it was quite overpriced for fairly basic meals. The salmon dish was dry and over cooked and rice was just plain with no flavouring. A large fish and chips was ordered but the piece given was tiny. When questioned the staff advised that they didn’t have any large… this should have been communicated to ask if ok to have the small or ask if we wanted another option. It makes me wonder if we had said nothing we would have been charged for a large. We weren’t really made to feel very welcome and had to ask for the candle on the table to be lit. The service could definitely have been better as it came across that they didn’t really want to be there. On a positive note the wine was very nice and because the bottle of wine we ordered wasn’t available was given a more expensive bottle for the same price. We wouldn’t revisit.

A real find in Shanklin. There's a lovely terrace which is a great spot for drinks. One of the few places in Shanklin that stays open later for food and drinks. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Had a meal in this restaurant which was okay but they need to learn the basics. Ordered mussels as my main dish and was not given a bowl to put shell's in or a finger bowl to wash finger's. So asked for bowl which didn't arrive at all so ended up putting them on wooden tray that my main dish came on.

We were advised that there was a 30-40 minute wait for food on arrival. When the food arrived it was well worth the wait. Prawn cocktails, followed by lamb steak and chicken, lamb and chicken both cooked to perfection and portion sizes were very generous. Thanks to all the staff, We would definitely recommend that you give this bar/bistro a visit at least once during your time on the island.

Came in to see a friend and left with a warm contented feeling, the place is warm and cozy and very friendly, but spacious enough to not be overbearing. The food is excellent and it has to be the best burger on the island hands down, it’s huge, full of flavour and seriously tasty, highly recommend the village inn

One of the best pub Sunday lunches we've had in several years. The meat was succulent - and if you can't choose beef or port you can have half and half. The potatoes were crunchily roasted with soft interior. The Yorkshire puddings seemed a step above most pub versions being neither greasy nor, like so many places, perfect roundels straight from a freezer. There wasn't much green veg but the kale - normally not something I like - was salty and well prepared. Great with the beautifully prepared red cabbage. Big shared portion of cauliflower cheese included too, and - on request - extra gravy and really tangy horseradish. Frankly not much to criticise here and the desserts were brilliant too. We had heard someone say that the change of ownership a week or so back had caused a drop in standards but it's hard to believe that it was ever much better than this. Highly recommended.
