We visited the barn for breakfast and to walk our dog. The breakfast came quickly and was hot very nice and tasty. We were visiting the area for the first time The staff were friendly and gave directions to the local park and open fields to walk our dog.

So we went to the Tithe Barn in Cosby tonight for dinner. We've only ever been for breakfast before, which has always been pleasant. However... the service and food was not just lame, it was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Firstly, both of us really wanted the mussels and French fries for dinner but about 20 minutes after ordering, we're told the mussels are bad and chef doesn't want to serve them. OK... we start again. I ordered the risotto, which was really lovely. I can't complain. My steak was dried out and chewy and basically inedible. When he complained, the waitress had said he'd eaten too much of it for it to be replaced. When he asked to speak to the chef, he was told the chef doesn't want to come out and talk. He asked to speak to management, apparently there's no one to speak to. The staff were completely uninterested and it was like they just didn't want to speak to us unless absolutely necessary. We were given a free dessert but definitely under protest, like the chef just told the waitress to sling that option at us. I ordered the sticky toffee pudding which came without any option of cream/ice cream. I asked for cream, and I kid you not, my pudding was cold by the time he returned with the cream. I paid the bill I was talking about just clearing off and telling them we're not paying, but I can't be doing with things like that so I chickened out so basically I feel totally ripped off because the whole experience was really shoddy. Just thought I'd give you a heads up if you were thinking of going. Great for breakfast. (But I'll still never eat here again) We can spend a lot of money on decent restaurants and our custom will be loyal when we're treated properly. This isn't one of those restaurants! 😕

Thinking of going to the Psychic night - avoid! Me and my friend arrived and waited for the meal to be served. So the meal was described as Oven Roasted Chicken supreme served on a bed of pasta. It came out, looking like below. The chicken looked liked it had been boiled in water with NO flavour. The pasta was so over cooked you couldn't even pick it up. It was cold and lacked flavour. I went to the waitress and complained and the poor girl apologised but it wasn't her fault. I heard others also complaining to each other but didn't do anything. I asked for chips or something to eat as we was starving. We was then served bowls of chips but this didn't warrant the price we paid. The pudding wasn't much better but we ate it! The readers started late i think due to the issues with the food. I felt the three ladies were very quietly spoken and seemed to be very similar with what they said and didn't seem to make much sense when talking to the guests. The man was good but unfortunately we only got 20 minutes which each person so he couldn't reach out to all 8 of us on the table. I feel very disappointed as the food here use to be good but after last night i wont be eating here again. After reading other reviews it appears the place has really gone down hill. I don't like putting places down but i think its only fair to others to read this. A waste of money AVOID

I was really looking forward to this night with my friend, we thought if the psychic part of the night was terrible, at least we’ve gone somewhere nice for food… boy were we wrong! It cost us £35 for dry bland chicken and lukewarm mushy pasta and I’ve never complain about my food, until tonight! The whole party (4 tables of 8) had to ask for bowls of chips, we were so hungry after not being able to eat our food. This was my first experience at The Tithe Barn and it will definitely be my last. I really felt sorry for the waitress, having to deal with all the complaints and the chef (who needs to take a different career path) was nowhere to be seen, no apology from him at all. Very disappointing night overall. I would 100% avoid this place.

Tithe barn host "psychic nights". Unfortunately my sister in law was subject to derogatory personal opinions from a psychic. During her reading, my sister in law disclosed that her son is autistic and this psychic then proceeded to say that autism is just a label applied to kids and missed the disability. Shocked and upset, my sister in law didn't say anything. Why on earth this particular individual felt the need to say such derogatory comments is baffling. I decided to contact tithe barn and they have refused to give the organiser (business) details and were not cooperative. Tithe barn said everyone is entitled to an opinion. I reiterated the fact that disability discrimination is protected by the equal rights act. But whoever was behind the tithe barn keyboard was rude. Tithe barn at first refused to even contact the organisers without a description of the psychic as there were 3 there. I gave them a description twice and whoever was responding on fb messenger said they needed more. Ridiculous considering there were only 3. Tithe barn are gate keeping this businesses information. What this psychic said was hate speech. Theyre using gdpr as an excuse for not issuing thr business info, but GDPR only protects indivuals identity. This situation has not been handled by Tithe Barn very well at all.

Edit : We weren’t able to try any food or drink as we were rudely turned away. The restaurant was barely full at 11am on Saturday morning and with two customers sat outside in the empty courtyard (hardly exceptionally busy) we presumed we could stop for two coffees in the sun (in the unbookable courtyard) evidently that was too much trouble.

I visited the Tithe Barn for breakfast today completely unexpectedly after another establishment let us down. I'd never heard of it, but it was recommended, so we gave it a try. I was joined by my mum and my aunty and were very pleased with everything. The full English was fabulous, complete with roasted cherry tomatoes on the vine, the lighter breakfast was equally good, and the pork breakfast burger was impressive! Even the toast was top-notch! The only thing I would say is, if you come in colder weather, come wrapped up. It's a very old barn with exposed rafters so tricky to heat. It warmed up when there were more people. It's not a big place so definitely wise to book. We were early so were lucky! Will definitely return. Might even do afternoon tea one day in the summer.

Had a lovely experience. We initially came for a turkey sunday dinner, but were disappointed to find that there was no turkey left. This was more than made up for. The manager explained that they did not want to overprepare and waste any, but offered for us to take some of the unprepared turkey home to eat tomorrow. When we declined (we aren't cooking tomorrow), he instead brought us cake on the house. On top of all this, we recieved a considerable 20% off of the build. Not only was the service good, the food tasted lovely. I highly recommend the grilled chicken flatbread. The atmosphere is nice too - as the name would suggest, a quaint, cosy barn vibe is present. Easily five stars - we will definitely be returning.

I met some friends here for a late breakfast. Myself & one of my friends decided to try the pancakes, berry compote & cream. They were ok but ruined by the cream, which was squirty cream, which left a horrible aftertaste in my mouth for an hour after finishing. For the price I was expecting real cream to be honest. Another friend had sausage & tomatoes on bread. The bread was cut so thinly that every time she picked it up the filling fell out (mostly onto her top). The coffee was good & the man that served us was lovely, friendly & attentive. It is an old building, which is beautiful, but a tad cold.

The perfect breakfast spot for a bank holiday weekend🍳☕️! Back in June, I visited The Tithe Barn for the first time. If you live in Leicester, there’s no way you haven’t heard of this place or seen it on social media. Upon arrival, I was delighted by the appearance of the outside courtyard area and even more excited that we had booked to sit outside. We were shown to our table and given our menus. The waiter also directed our attention to the small device on the table which we could use to request service (among other options). What I had: • Pork Breakfast Burger • Extra Bacon • Strawberry Smoothie • Cappuccino The strawberry smoothie…all I can say is WOW. I am still dreaming about it to this day. It was so yummy that I even contemplated ordering a second one. I would go back again solely for that drink. The breakfast burger was divine. All of the ingredients tasted so fresh. In terms of appearance, it doesn’t look very exciting, but it is packed with flavour. The hashbrowns were served alongside the burger, which I preferred as you could enjoy them separately. The reason for ordering extra bacon was due to it not being stated in the description of the burger on the menu, and me being a bacon lover had to have bacon! To then be served a burger with bacon in it was slightly surprising and quite annoying, as I had spent more money than needed simply due to an error on the menu. Just something to note when ordering. Anyway, after eating my burger and extra bacon, we decided to order a coffee to enjoy whilst taking in our surroundings and basking in the sun. The staff were very helpful, albeit not the most attentive. The prices were fair for what you get, considering it is an independent establishment. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and will definitely be visiting again.

I wouldn’t suggest visiting here at the moment! They have a serious wasp infestation problem which for some reason they have chose to ignore and just continue to trade! I don’t expect to pay £40 to come out for breakfast with my partner and have wasps fly in my drink as soon as I receive it. We were originally sat outside in the courtyard. When we asked to move the waitress was abrupt/rude and just said ‘we’ve got a real problem with wasps at the moment’ and that we couldn’t move as ‘the next people to sit there would complain aswell’ Well maybe close your business for a day and get pest control in to sort out the issue? We eventually got moved inside after saying we were going to leave, thanks to a waiter who was much more competent than the waitress we first dealt with. The food was nice but it wasn’t long until a wasp found it’s way to our table even though we were now inside the restaurant! Food was fine but service on the whole was poor and they should not be trading in that current state.

We booked here to celebrate my son’s A-Level results, we usually come to the Tithe Barn on special lunch occasions. We arrived at 11.45 and ordered at 12pm. At 12.30 I went in to ask where the drinks were and the guy behind the bar, who had his back to me and was drinking, was very abrupt and rude. He said ‘I’m on my own here, I have a backlog and have got behind! I’m on my own!’ He was very glaring and aggressive, I just said ‘Table 26 please’ and went back to my table. Our food arrived at 12.35 with no cutlery, the waiter dropped some of our order on the floor on the way, and our food was not hot. My hollandaise sauce was stone cold, I had to send it back. When my drink eventually arrived it was the wrong order! The waiter was very apologetic but this was an abysmal experience on what should have been a special occasion. I have eaten here many times and never been disappointed. Not enough staff on a busy day. Terrace was inundated with swarms of wasps, but that was not the fault of the restaurant, who had provided wasp catchers. Despite me voicing my feelings to the waiter and (very sweet) waitress we were still charged full price. We will not return 😞

Pressed the buzzer again and heard him saying “they can wait” so we confronted them and left to go elsewhere. Rude. Edit: as I am unable to respond to your reply - There is no mention of the shoddy service in your response aside from the comment made. I wasn’t acknowledged and told they’d be with us shortly or even offered a drink. Nobody else was awaiting their bill. There were possibly 3 other tables with customers - none of which were awaiting a bill. Regardless of who the comment was about it still is not acceptable to speak about customers like that ESPECIALLY not in earshot. My mum ordered their New York deli sandwich, which also was lacking in flavour. I sadly doubt we will be returning now as I wouldn’t say it is quality tasty food for the money you are paying out. Very disappointed. My friends had been before and were pleased with the venue so we were looking forward to our trip out. We were five minutes late for our booking at 1:45 pm due to traffic problems and were told that because we were so late for our 12:30 booking our outside table had been given to someone else! I insisted our booking was for 1:45 but the waitress was having none of it and I even tried to show our confirmation email but she didn’t want to know and we felt very unfriendly. We opted for the offered inside table. The service was dreadful, we had to wait along time for our drinks and we thought they had forgotten our food order. The waitress totally ignored us and disappeared as we were leaving. The food wasn’t anything special either. I decided to not make a public review but contact the venue directly for an acknowledgement that the waitress had made a mistake and offer an apology! Nothing has been forthcoming so decided to go public. Needless to say we will not be visiting again.

After pressing the button as advised we waited a further 30 minutes for someone to take our order. Unfortunately no-one came. My partner and I have been here handful of times in the past with friends and family and always had a lovely breakfast/lunch. However, today was not the same experience. We arrived and weren't acknowledged for atleast five minutes after which a waitress said she'd clear a table for us after she had served a few more customers and asked us to wait near the serving area until she had sorted our table, this message was delivered in quite a rude tone. My partner and I waited patiently for almost 10 mins to be seated, while considering going elsewhere for lunch. We were seated and shortly afterwards the same waitress came to take our drinks and food order. It almost felt as though we were an inconvenience. While we were waiting for our order to be served a queue of customers was forming at the front with some people turning back and leaving. The food arrived (two grilled chicken burgers) and was really bland. The menu said the burgers would come in a brioche bun, they didn't. The coleslaw was flavourless as was the burger. It was all a little bit of a disappointment. Although not the fault of the establishment, the card payment machine wasn't working which meant we had to then go to a nearby shop to withdraw cash which made an already bad experience worse. Having been to the Tithe Barn a number of times, out recent visit has completely put us off coming back especially given the fact we feel like a total inconvenience to the staff.

Went for lunch with a friend and ordered drinks and salmon salad. The salmon salad was doused in a very unpleasant mustard dressing which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. It was described as being served with potato salad which was cold chunks of rock hard potato and quite frankly not very appealing or tasty at all. I ate the salmon as I was starving (I should have sent it back) and when the chap came to clear the table I said politely why I’d left it but he wasn’t the slightest bit bothered. When it came time to pay the bill he clearly expected full payment but agreed begrudgingly to give me a 20% discount off the main course. Service was efficient and the tall chap was nice and friendly however the owner or manager not sure who he is was as miserable as sun with no customer service. Needless to say I won’t be going back.

The weather was great, sun shining and warm experience. A hidden gem, my first time encountering the place. Very chilled and relaxed, a place, I would visit again.

We have been a few times before for breakfast and was really good, the Sunday lunch was very different, left over bits of beef, hard roast potatoes, cold cabbage and two pieces of broccoli. All lunches were sent back our server was very apologetic but no management came to see us. We paid for the 2 starters, 3 beers and 2 cokes still £32 and left with the chef glaring at us. No where to eat as Easter Sunday but there were plenty of empty tables here.

Can't really give more than 4 stars because it's slightly expensive but the overall experience was great and the staff was really friendly and professional.

I have never had a breakfast here before, only lunch. Neither have I sat inside, only out. The food was plentiful. I couldn't fault the service. It is very popular and does get busy. Smaller inside than I imagined.

Definitely not worth the price. The building is stunning and the staff are brilliant but the furniture could use some tlc. The food was fine but would expect more for the price. It also cam eout a little cold

Good service and use of technology (buzzers) to help the servers know when you are ready to order/get the bill. Food itself was a bit basic for the price. Not that large portions either. See picture - for reference, I added and paid for the eggs and hash browns - the standard smashed avocado breakfast (£10) comes without these additions.

Went for a family meal today... Been in the past and it was great... Today not so, First of all place was cold, most people sat with their coats on..... Ordered fish, chips and peas... Chips cold and still frozen, peas, stone cold... Fish tasteless.... Really disappointing... Expected better, because this place is not cheap... What is happening here??

Excellent service would recommend to all my friends & family. Took our dog to see Santa Paws & was made very welcome on our visit. I mentioned this to a few of my friends who didn’t know about this event till after it had finished. A bit of advice maybe next time advertise it in local Facebook groups so more people know about it.

Nice menu and good cake selection but a pity they use disposable rather than washable / reusable cups and cutlery, creating unnecessary and un-recyclable waste.

This is a great for breakfast and lunch. Not open after that and closes about 5pm. The quality of food is really good here and the service pods on each table are a genius idea so that you can pres the required button when you need some service. The decor here is really good too with the original features of the barn being used. Definately recommend for a breakfast, brunch or lunch date.

First time visit. Not sure what to expect because of some poor reviews and supposedly high prices. Pleasantly surprised my wife had fish and chips and me the light breakfast. Food very good and plentiful, service efficient and polite. Will definitely call again.
