Didn't eat,but what a lovely pub.Definitely worth a visit.

Nipped in for quick pint Saturday lunch time parked the car as close as possible to the door as my wife is disabled. Sat enjoying our pint when was told to move our car because one off the locals couldn't park in there normal spot( the place was empty). If you're registered disabled I would suggest you give this place a miss.

Just a beer and ciders as we passed on our walk of around Croft Hill loop.

Friendly staff, football on the telly and reasonable prices for the booze. Can't complain at all!

Only got drinks here but there is a good choice of beer and a nice fire on the go by the bar.

This place could be so much more….. It’s a massive shame it doesn’t do food!!! It’s a great pub that has everything else Sports, pool table, good staff, nice garden area for the kids (although needs abit of a revamp) dog friendly but the fact there’s no food is such a let down it would be perfect for a Sunday roast or a mid week meal. Even with the fact the village lacks a cafe it’s ideal for a hot lunch. All in all it’s definitely worth a visit but wouldn’t mind visiting to have a pie and a pint. I hear it use to sell food and does put it on for certain groups but you can’t just walk in and order food anymore..

We held a family skittle event, the food was great, traditional pub food that was really yummy. The room was excellent and nice and warm. I would highly recommend this venue for a get together.

Staff were very miserable. Considering its the only pub in the village we could do with a bit more atmosphere and happier staff

Lovely, friendly, village pub with a lovely atmosphere. The interior is warm, cosy & stylish, and the bar boasts a great selection of draught lagers and ciders. The beer garden at the back is also fabulous. I absolutely love it here!

We have been a few times in here and always all serves was ok but not today. My husband was refused to serve him from a nasty waitress cos not wear the mask, but has his exempt card. Please training your staff to polite with customer at least. We know our right and policy with face covering. So very disappointed and will never come back though.

Just a great place to be. Sundae desert is unbelievably good after the Sunday lunch and a few drinks.

Iv always liked the heathcote for beer in the past with a lovely view on the front.. now it has lovely new owners and the place looked really nice we did not stay for Sunday lunch but it smelt amazing.. will definitely be eating there in the future.. the owner said your best to book in advance

I was really looking forward to Sunday lunch but was extremely disappointed with what I was presented with last Sunday I am not sure what potatoes and carrots swimming in butter constitutes seasonal vegitables undercooked pigs in blankets and doggie Yorkshire pudding that was burnt on top . Cheese board consisted of cheddar only fit for the mouse trap very very disappointing

Great friendly local pub. Started doing meals now and we were not disappointed. The Landlady is quite a character and very welcoming. Almost a friend now lol. Everards beers plus some guest ales. Seperate dining area although small and compact. Lots of locals and good atmosphere. A regular haunt for me.

A big thank you to Hannah and her team for the amazing Mothers Day lunch we had today. The staff were very friendly, nothing was to much trouble, the food was a plenty and tasted amazing. All of the mothers received a special gift and a glass of prosecco which was a lovely surprise.

Visited the pub on a few occasions and the staff are so welcoming and friendly! Came for a meal on Valentine’s Day and it was by far the best meal I have had in a very long time! The Land Lady Hannah goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience! Came for Sunday lunch and was amazing proper homemade traditional Sunday lunch with good size portions taste delicious and great price so much for your money would highly recommend! The choice of drinks is fantastic somthing for everyone. Would recommend for family’s couples or even if your on your own your made to feel so welcome best village pub by miles!!

We came here for a Sunday roast. This is a nice cosy pub and is good as it is dog-friendly as long as you eat in the bar area. The food was very nice but the portion of the main meal was underwhelming. We were promised a huge dinner but I personally would describe it as huge. It was sufficient apart from we only got one dish of vegetables to share between 7 of us. We also ordered desserts and these took quite a while to come - I think we were forgotten about. The main & dessert however, were both very nice and tasty.

The staff are lovely. Very friendly people. However this does not cover up the lack of effort put into the disappointing gourmet facade. Sunday dinner is definitely a daylight robbery. The meat is overcooked and dry, the stuffing dry and flavourless, not to mention the lack of vegetables in a small roasting dish. The only positive was the roast potatoes, very fluffy and crisp on the outside, couldn't fault them. Gravy is too thick and lacks real flavour. The vegetarian sweet potato nut roast is simply a factory made burger patty, no real effort here. The portion sizes for what you pay are too small and not good quality for the money that you are paying. The best thing about the desserts is the icing sugar blizzard on the roof tile. Cheesecake is just entirely cream on a soggy base. The cheeseboard is outdated, another 20p or so per cheese could get some good quality cheese that doesn't leave a foul taste. The crackers that accompany the cheese were old and going soft. The decor isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, with little mottos written in white marker pen on the beams really brings it down. If you need the bathroom whilst you are there I would recommend going back home. Unfortunately couldn't take pictures of the food but attached is a picture of the toilet bin overflowing with dirty tissues which I'm sure is very hygienic (not). Staff are the only reason I would even think about going back. Overall, poor quality food, lovely staff, overpriced, and outdated.

Hannah and the team were extremely helpful in ensuring we had a great family party for my Mum's 80th. The food was excellent, really delicious, and piping hot. We had full use of the skittles room and had a great time. Can recommend as a venue for a private party.

Went here today for the first time. Three of us had Sunday Lunch. Nice cosy restaurant serving quality food at a reasonable price. Great service to. All washed down with an excellent Stout. Shall visit again.

Walked up the road to the local village pub for the first time in ages. Told they did food and thought give it a go. Garlic mushrooms to start and then some steak and chips. Theakstones old peculiar to wash it down. Will pop back again the next time I can't be bothered to cook.

It is utterly fab to have a local pub and Hannah has made a huge difference from when we 1st visited in 2015. Friendly welcome, great service and well cooked homely food, loved the puddings especially the ice cream. Keep up the good work.

First visit.food was really good. Starter was plentiful. I had sirloin steak as main course and it was cooked perfectly. Chips and onion rings plus mushrooms and tomatoes. Peppercorn and blue cheese sauce was deli ious. Staff very attentive. Would certainly go again.

Dog friendly. Only had a snack which was fine. Beers fine.

Hannah and the team are so welcoming and friendly, weather we pop up with the dogs or the kids there’s always a treat waiting! We’ve eaten here with the kids for the first time and it was fantastic the best food I’ve had in a very very long time (and I’m married to a chef so pretty hard to please) they use the best ingredients and it shows in there beautiful food! Keep it up guys your doing a fab job.

We booked a table at the last minute today, Hannah couldn't have been more accommodating with the vegetarian we had with us. The beef was beautiful and very tender, unfortunately we did not have any room for pudding. Well worth the visit.

Went for lunch at 14.15 and told the kitchen had closed even though the sign outside said served food until 14.30.
