Country Kitchen in Blaby

Randomly stumbled upon this cafe on our drive up to York and wow wow wow! Lisa and Jo were lovely and the food was 10/10. Worth the detour for sure! Coming from Australia, it was our first time having an English Breakfasts and black pudding and we were seriously impressed. Was well priced too!

Beautiful little cafe, great food, great service, felt very welcoming when came in the shop. Will definitely be visiting again 😀

A lovely cafe serves breakfast, cobs, wraps, toasties, burgers, chips, salads, hot & cold drinks & … Friendly and helpful staff, fast and good service. Very clean and nicely decorated, still provides hand sanitizer and screen at the till to protect staff and customers. Little concerns on the entrance as there is a step and it’s on a quite busy main street, there is no parking but can always park nearby or opposite streets for free.

What an amazing breakfast, proper home cooking at its best. If you’re staying at The Gynsills here is the best place for breakfast, leave The Gynsills breakfast behind and enjoy a delicious breakfast at The Country Kitchen!!

We visited a couple of months ago & I ordered omlette & chips, the very small omlette arrived but no chips, I asked where the chips were & the reply was I hadn't ordered them. Just after I had finished the omelette the chips arrived, very fresh but not really much use to me, I was then asked to pay for them. Yesterday I decided to try again & ordered a cheese & onion soft cob & a ham & tomato crusty cob. Arriving home I discovered a cheese & onion crusty cob & a very thin slice of value ham & perhaps a quarter of a small tomato soft cob. I won't bother again

Beaut breakfast yet again. This is the place to come to when your craving a full English. Deffo the best in the area… by far! The girls who run the place are always friendly and happy to make any amendments you wish to your order. This place is full of regular customers, for good reason!

The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and always fresh, I order breakfast cobs for work and the guys devour them. Highly recommend this cafe, thanks ladies. X

Just been to the cafe for latte and bacon cob 😁. Very clean and friendly staff. My mum struggled at the step but the young ladies were so helpful. Even other customers were friendly. Definitely be back. Thank you ☕🥓xx

Since the new owners have taken over they have transformed from a dull, dreary unwelcoming place, to a warm, welcoming, vibrant, cafe with delicious food always served with a smile. Keep it up girls. It’s always nice to see such a dramatic change when people put passion into everything they do.

Used to be really good but now it’s really stingey! A small chips used to fill the box but now it’s half full and not cooked properly!

Fast, friendly service, good quality ingredients and deliver on the little things, make things exactly how you like it. Very impressed vastly improved from the last owners.

If your hungry and nearby its definitely worth a try👍🏽

You ask for a full English breakfast in a cob and get egg sausage rip off payed nearly 10 pound for two egg sausage cobs I wouldn't go there again

Amazing food and staff! We came here on our trip from Leeds to Leicester after seeing good reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Was so good we had to come back on our way home! Everyone’s so friendly here as well and we felt really welcome in this lovely little cafe. We will be sure to visit again if we return to Leicester!

We had a great breakfast and the staff are really nice and friendly. The country Kitchen is definitely the place to go if you want to go out for breakfast or lunch. Visited today, first day under new owners and wow! Service was fantastic, lovely warm welcoming. Food, couldn't ask for better. Great quality, great price, great service.

Been in a few weeks in a row now to collect a treat lunch. Simple setup for the current situation, space/dividers/sanitiser. Then of course the food is tasty, freshly made and piping hot! Can't ask for more 🙂

My husband and I driving through Glenfield on Wednesday morning and decided to stop at Country Kitchen for coffee . First impression gave us wow factor and decided to have toasts . Good service good coffee good food . Well done Country Kitchen 5 stars for us .

We went here off chance for coffee and toast. The welcome was pleasant, place was covid compliant, nice, and clean . The toast was yummy although they don't do latte, or cappuccino, we had milky coffee which was just as good as latte Well done. Hopefully will come soon again.

This is the only cafe that the company I work for will order breakfast rolls from in Glenfield. The staff are so friendly and everything is immaculately clean. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The food is prepared in front of you. When we have eaten on the premises they adapted the menu and the choice was superb.

If i could give this place zero stars i would! We're visiting Leicester from Birmingham for my husbands birthday and staying at a local hotel. We chose to visit the country kitchen because of it's high google rating, much to our detriment. First off the staff are rude and impolite. As new customers you'd think a business would strive to make you welcome and explain menu choices but we were met with frostiness from the very start. The hot drinks were cheap and tasteless to the point my husband asked for coffee instead of tea which was met with resistance but changed reluctantly. We'd order two full breakfasts to start our day off well but the "full" breakfast only consisted of 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 1 egg, beans and tinned tomatoes. Maybe it was our mistake as realising soon after being served our food, items like mushrooms, black pudding and fried bread are charged as extras but this was not explained when we ordered at the counter. As i double checked the chalk board and asked about the extras the staff behind the counter were huffy and made out we were being difficult. I explained in cafes we'd visited before the full breakfast had included mushrooms, black pudding etc, to be told "well differant places do it differantly!". I became quite cross at this point because of the way i was being spoken to and after returning to our table we decided to leave, our breakfasts not even touched and our hot drinks still half full. We frequent cafes regularly and I've never been so shocked at an establishments lack of customer service. Me and my husband have worked in hospitality for years and we've never been left as dissapointed and speechless as we were here. We ended up at a McDonald's just down the road in the end as at least you know what you're getting there. Sadly our visit to Leicester has been tarnished by this visit and I'm really hoping other locals aren't as rude or dismissive of outside business as the country cafe is.

Just not what expected. Felt like an outsider when walking in. But ordered anyway. I started having concernes when I had to return my tea. Had a safe coffee, but half a sausage later and a few exchanges between us and the staff, I decided to leave. You can keep the money.

Always grab a bacon cob and as many cakes as i think I can eat whenever I'm close , best bacon cob for miles and the staff are always polite & friendly.

We are out of use to a kitchen and so decided to eat breakfast here and were not disappointed. great food thank you. We will definitely return as the food was really nice and the cafe is nice

Wow what can I say about The Country Kitchen..... Great food with great friendly staff who make you feel very welcome. Excellent service & very accommodating to my food preferences. The Country Kitchen is now my new favourite cafe!!! See you soon 👍🏻

Very poor quality food the breakfast was awful the sausage must be the cheapest you can buy i asked for well done bacon and it came almost raw the portions were very small i will never use country kitchen again and my advice is stay away from the place

Breakfasts at the country kitchen are a real treat a full English which you can add extras to is always a great breakfast and the filled baps made fresh to order are also that bit special that keep me going back time and again. I highly recommend.

Stock be a bit more friendlier could be a bit cheaper four coffees and teas

This is a friendly place and the food is great ,always hot and cook to perfection.

Situated on the main street they do a brilliant breakfast first choice every time. You can also pre order for pickup too.

Me and my partner visit the country kitchen all the time and every time the food has been good! Theres always friendly staff who take our order ( you can always have a laugh with them) and the orders are always correct because me and my partner can be quite fussy with what we want and every time we get what we want and up to our high standards! Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

A full English at £4.30 plus £1 for the tea. Great value : two sausages, two rashers of back bacon, one egg tomato, beans and two slices of toast. Personally I would have preferred two eggs and only one sausage, but overall a great start to the day.

You have to wait. But that is because the food is freshly made. Good value too. The sausage and bacon are top notch

Great place for a breakfast or a bite to eat at lunchtime. Everything is cooked/made to order. My favourite is a simple egg mayo sandwich with a mug of tea. A few tables inside, nothing fancy just what you need to eat and go. Always busy with people inside and takeout. Friendly staff, parking close by

After a long time of imperical research, this place server one of my very favourite full English breakfast, always good, brilliant place, been coming for years.
