We've been meeting up monthly there for a good few months for something to eat. It's got a good menu and the food is. OK Recently we've come across a middle aged bloke working there who is rude and sarcastic so we'll find somewhere else in Charminster to meet up.

Visited for new year with the family. Had the set NYE menu which was fabulous. You could see the staff were super busy but were still friendly and helpful. The manager couldn’t do enough to help and sorted everything for my gluten free diet and fussy family members. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, there was a good atmosphere and a live band later on. Will definitely visit again.

Nice bar BUT VERY COLD in the dining areas When you’d expect it to be snug and warm When we commented we were told it’s minus two outside!! Like that’s a reason Service was AMUSING/ haphazard ! FOOD WAS GOOD. We may revisit in 2023 just for a laugh 😂

Just went down to Bournemouth for the afternoon to see our son who is at university there. We took our 2 pooches so we did a little Google search and the tipsy cow came up so we took a chance and so glad we did. The staff (and patrons) welcomed our fur babies and catered for them so well. Food decent. Good selection of drinks and lovely service Will be back

Whilst at a music event my injured fiancée needed to use the disabled facility as she finds it very difficult to negotiate the steep stairs down to the toilets in the basement the disabled toilets are kept locked & when staff tried to unlock them the door lock was broken and could not open the door

3 of us visited the Tipsy Cow on a Friday night, my partner ordered x2 'Frozen strawberry daiquiris' however rather than being frozen blender it was just strawberry water, albeit they did taste nice. My partner decided to order the same drink which was perfectly made by another bar tender which was made by blender which couldn't be faulted, we didn't mention it the first time as we thought it was just a cheap cocktail, this shows that the first collogue needs more training behind the bar as consistency is important. There seems to be some confusion whether its table service or bar service, and we understand this isn't a fine dining restaurant setting but there where other tables who clearly weren't impressed by the service, we ordered x2 steaks and we requested to upgrade one the sirloin to the ribeye. When the food arrived the previous colleague (the same one who made the watery frozen daiquiris) then messed up the order and didn't include the ribeye. Another colleague who served the food then said 'we don't do Ribeye steaks' which shows he had no idea of the menu, when we also asked what steak was rare and which was medium rare another he said "I assume its this one' low and behold it wasn't correct, but to be honest it wasn't exactly hard for us to distinguish. I feel he was new, and I get we all have to start some were but some more training wouldn't hurt. He then decided to show us the ticket showing x2 Sirloins, trying to blame us for ordering the wrong steak but he in fact didn't understand the order was taken down wrong. Now the food was good and I couldn't fault it, the steaks where cooked very well and the portions where generous, £30 for two steaks and a bottle of wine is a really good deal! The service and lack of consistency has let the Tipsy Cow down, however the food did make up for it, I think they need to take a leaf out of the dancing ducks book at they have food/bar service down to a T.

Just lovely. Great and interesting menu with enough choice for all. Tasty food and a warm welcome are all that you need for a perfect evening with a small glass of wine or 2! I recommend to all.

Oh dear we were sadly disappointed with our roast delivery.. it arrived hot and on time but our lunch was like roast beef soup, a tasty'soup' all be it ...but everything just a soggy mess... maybe consider serving the gravy and Yorkshire's in separate containers?? We however appreciate it's nearly impossible to keep food ,yorkies roasties crisp in transit but this food had no hope with the amount of gravy and cheese sauce.. sorry guys.. we generally love your food, maybe just a bad day ? We haven't given up on you just think we may eat 'in house' in future...

We had a lovely breakfast at The Tipsy Cow this morning, we sat outside in the sun! Lovely, friendly man working there. Breakfast was really tasty! Runny eggs, good quality sausage, tasty mushroom, thick great quality bacon and absolutely lovely hash brown!

On Thursday evening we came to the tipsy cow for food and drinks. The restaurant was lovely. The atmosphere was good. The young man behind the bar with the tattoo on his arm was super helpful and so lovely. Unfortunately our visit was ruined. Myself and my partner ordered chipotle chicken and margarita pizza. I found a curly hair in the chicken. I felt sick. The man behind the bar checked on us but I felt too embarrassed and sick to say anything. He was so sweet I just said I was full. I then went out the back for a cigarette and walking past the kitchen I saw the chef, who in fact did have curly hair. Not wearing a hair net. I also saw him drop food all over the floor and leave it there. I would to return for drinks. But I will never return for food. Avoid at all costs!

When ever we visit The Tipsy Cow every body are very friendly. We eat here a lot and have never been disappointed. Food is lovely and loads of it. We love their Sunday roasts. They have recently updated their menu the burger was awesome. Good selection of drinks.

A good range of lagers and ales. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. A good place for a drink or meet up. !

We had such a lovely brunch today at tipsy cow Charminster. The poached eggs were spectacular. Coffee lovely and the service friendly and attentive. It was quiet and they deserve to be busy so definitely give it a go I highly recommend it!!

Se olvidaron de nuestro desierto y volvimos al día siguiente para tenerlo. En lugar de disculparse y atendernos rápidamente, nos hicieron esperar mucho tiempo, nos pidieron que cediéramos nuestros asientos a otros clientes mientras esperábamos, y cuando preguntamos cuánto tiempo sería, simplemente dijeron que la cocina estaba muy ocupada. . Verdaderamente una agradable velada con excelente comida, personal brillante y deliciosos cócteles. Éramos un grupo familiar y todos disfrutaron de sus comidas, desde el increíble bistec tomahawk hasta el mejor pescado y patatas fritas de la ciudad. La torre de cerveza es muy divertida para las cervezas de autoservicio en la mesa. ¡Los cócteles siempre están muy bien hechos y los martinis de estrellas porno siempre son un éxito! Lo más importante en estos tiempos extraños, el borracho tiene todas las medidas de seguridad adecuadas con máscaras, distanciamiento social, medidas de higiene y la aplicación para hacer que las bebidas lleguen milagrosamente a su mesa. El establo de las vacas en la parte de atrás es un pequeño espacio perfecto para nosotros también los fumadores traviesos. Así que un gran pulgar hacia arriba para la vaca achispada. Been here a couple of times and been served by Harry, his attitude and service is outstanding. So professional and lovely, so helpful too especially when explaining the app. The venue itself is beautiful, I recommend.

At times like these a perfect takeaway is just what's needed. The best fish and chips in town I think. Really worth every penny. The chipotle chicken is also worth a lovely mention. Try it and you won't regret xx

First time using their new-ish delivery service. Pre-booked my roast yesterday for 2pm, arrived on time. Delicious roast, all the bits you expect. Great fresh veg and s nice touch that the Yorkshire's were in a separate box so they maintained their texture. Definitely using again!

Absolutely amazing takeaway on a Saturday night for two! We've ordered two burgers with house fries and side of onion rings and corn on the cob. Food arrived on time, portions were just perfect and prices are very reasonable. We have ordered via The Tipsy Cow Bar app on our phone, which is our way to support local business! Thanks to the chef, we will be ordering again!!

We were staying at one of the guest rooms over night so ate in the restaurant/bar area in the evening, any staff we spoke to were very polite friendly and helpful. The food came out very quickly we both ordered steaks both my husband and myself thought the food was really good and impressed with how much we got! Onion rings were amazing! We couldn't find a single complaint with the food or service we received so big thank you to the staff and if we are in the area again then we will be back.

We attended the Tipsy Cow for my daughters 21st birthday. I emailed in advance as we had a couple of people with dietary restrictions and they emailed back very quickly with all the information I required and told us we would be welcome and looked after. I also let them know this wouldn’t be your usual 21st birthday as my daughter has special needs, they were brilliant and very helpful. I emailed with Alex who was terrific and set up our booking. There were 10 of us on the night and we were served by Elise who was attentive and professional and very kind. We were welcomed warmly and served delicious food, then came the live music which is what my daughter was waiting for and she wasn’t disappointed!! It was great, she got up and danced and had a wonderful time. Thank you Alex and Elise you really helped make her night, and to the rest of the staff thank you for making us so welcome. We would highly recommend them!!

Went with friends who have been before, it is good value for the money £15.50, for Steak Chips, a mushroom and a tomato, with a small amount of salad with it. It was really not bad at all and for the money it made a cheap night out, The staff were very friendly but had a small wait for the meal, but it was ok. During the evening Karoke started, not great voices, but, yes I'd go again, it was good value for the money.

Came in here by accident one time. Ended up making it my regular. Good beer, the food is cost effective and very tasty.Particularly like the burgers. Staff are friendly too which is a bonus.

Great place , first time visiting and will definitely not be our last!Food was perfect, big portions too so there is plenty. Good variety of food. I’m a vegetarian and they had there own Vegan menu which is a change as usually it is hard to find food that is for everyone . There was only one person working out on the bar/restaurant- wasn’t a problem for us but it must be hard work for her having to run around with no help!Would recommend

Really poor service, took over an hour for our food to come out at a quiet time, when it came out it was unanimous it was an awful roast, barely any veg, the little we had was undercooked. We had to request the promised cauliflower cheese, it was finally brought out after we had finished and tasted of paint. Drinks watered down as well, the one person who had a burger was also dissatisfied.

This was the second (and certainly not the last) time I've stayed in the Tipsy Cow Guestrooms. It was also the second time I've left the accommodation feeling thoroughly spoilt as rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious, and thereofre fantastic value for money. The same can be said for the Tipsy Cow bar and restaurant, great quality, great price, happy customers. I highly recommend!!

This is my experience as parent of a coeliac child at the Tipsy Cow Charminster, Bournemouth. Following a previous good experience with gluten free food and many pleasant evenings at the Tipsy Cow, my family and I visited this evening for dinner. After usual checks with staff, I established that a gluten free pizza (like our last visit) was available on children’s menu. A little while after we’d ordered, a staff member asked us for an additional £2 as they only stocked adult size pizza base. This wasn’t an issue on our last visit so we refused to pay extra. We had especially asked for a starter of avocado as nothing else on the children’s menu was suitable. Unfortunately, she was served half a rotten brown avocado as her starter, which we returned and then over an hour after we’d ordered, were given half a gluten free pizza. The manager / owner was not on site at this point. When I went back to the bar for a drink, I overheard a conversation behind bar asking if my table was ‘still’ complaining. When I challenged this person, he said he was the owner and that gluten free food is less profitable and suggested I do not return despite being a repeat customer. He then sent over a new but inexperienced staff member who was clearly embarrassed to apologise on his behalf. He avoided eye contact with us for the rest of our evening. Food was nice but felt singled out and uncomfortable for my daughter! Hope this sounds like a fair and honest review.

Like this place. Nice and cozy inside and the staff are friendly. My only criticism is that the food isn’t particularly great, lots of it is deep fried and greasy and the pizzas aren’t very pleasant. The croutons in the Caesar salad were just pure grease. Drinks a little on the pricey side too. I think if the food quality was higher, it would be a lot busier than it is.

I have been here quite a few times now with friends and family and I absolutely love the place. The staff are always really friendly and give great service and the food and drink is wonderful (especially the gluten free pizzas!). Well worth a visit.

Came when it was quite quiet on a Monday evening, sat in a secluded corner and had a lovely snack and drink with my toddler. The food was lovely and the service was amazing, the fellow working was so sweet and chatty, spoke to my daughter and generally made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely game of cards from the box of board games, it was warm and a respite from the cold and wind outside, didn't want to leave! The place has a great atmosphere and I'm very impressed with our first visit and will be coming back.

Great pub and restaurant. The fillet steak was very good (especially using Meerkat) and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Poor breakfast veggie sausages were awful couldn’t eat them. Strange bubble and squeak which had been deep fried into a strange onion bargie type thing. Ordered poached eggs got undercooked fried eggs.Staff were pleasant I didn’t complain at the time as had already waited a long time for food to arrive.I wouldn’t recommend for breakfast however other meals may be good.

Very pleased with the food and the environment, we had a really nice evening. We had the fillet steaks with a sauce, one rare and one medium to well done, they were perfect and such good value (2 for the price of 1). Our friends both had vegan meals and were very pleased.

The food took 45 minutes to arrive, in drips n drabs, cold, with all the wrong orders and this was at a time when the place was empty!

Please don't believe the 4 and 5 star reviews. This establishment is cheap,the maintenance is poor. It even had no light working in the disabled toilets. The area is run down,pretty much in keeping with the pub.

Came in tonight with my bf and friend And have to say the bar staff were wicked had a right laugh, made amazing cocktails and even offered to bring more drinks to the table.Proper helpfull, happy and up for a laugh!! So positive and refreshing and will be returning just on this basis.Food was lush and realy enjoyed the whole vibe and atmosphere what a great find. Extra shout out to the (feminine) barman.. It's quiet on weekends which is why we go, you can sit out on the terrace and enjoy a cocktail late evenings. The awful door in and out of the kitchen is sooooo distracting and annoying.. it's always been like that since it opened... why not fix it??? Its terrible and is so loud! Wouldn't eat here but would definatly drink here.. would stay all night if it wasn't for the bloody door!

Service slow, even when the place is almost empty. Coupled with being eventually served with an extremely bad attitude. The manager also speaks to you like you are being told off. Food and drinks also extremely underwhelming. A real shame as it could be superb if the staff respected the clients and made the experiment pleasant.

First visit - strange mix of bar - restaurant - live entertainment ! Booked for meet up with friends but def not the place for a quiet chat ! Made worse by the noisiest table next to us in Bournemouth ! The food was good however - Would say its more of a bar with food than somewhere to go and eat - which is a shame as the food and restaurant area is nice ! Plus ordering at bar and then having to queue at the bar your meal to pay on a busy Friday night isn’t the best way to get return business !! Good vibe but confused identity - seemed / felt disorganised

What a great place. Came with my works team. Probably had the best pizza ever. Staff really friendly and great value. Everyone enjoyed the evening and the Karaoke was great.

Decided to host my 40th birthday party at the Tipsy - was amazing, they put on a buffet for me and 3 bottles of fizz, accommodated my balloons and asked me for pictures to put on a slideshow on the TV's - such a wonderful night, thank you Tipsy Cow

A group of us visited Tipsy Cow on a quiet Sunday evening. Unfortunately they had run a bit low on some menu items after a very busy weekend but the staff were very forthcoming with alternatives. I had a very good chili con carne and two varieties of alcohol-free beer (the Heineken had more flavour than Nanny State).

We came in with our boys for dinner on a tuesday night. It was quiet with only one member of staff working, but you’d never have known. The service was brilliant, the waiter/barman happily joked with the kids. There was a little wait on food but it was worth it. Will 100% return!

The Tipsy Cow was the first place we had food and a drink in Bournemouth after flying from Dublin and it was a very pleasant experience. The barmaid was really friendly and helpful. The food was good and the beer was cold. It was a great start to our weekend in Bournemouth and I highly recommend The Tipsy Cow if you find yourself in the Charminster area.

Had the vegan spicy bean burger with onion rings and house fries - prepared with pride and a pretty massive jump up from standard bar fare! Friendly staff who not only remembered me from a week ago but also remembered which lager I liked! I cannot recommend this place highly enough - simply superb!

Fab live music every Friday and Saturday night, we thoroughly enjoy it, fab atmosphere, staff were lovely, especially Shannon, she was lovely and would do anything to help out and make the night enjoyable for everyone, so so kind! The food was also fab, just a great night over all, back again next weekend!

We recently visited The Tipsy Cow for a birthday celebration. We had a large group with kids, which wasn't a problem as the place is very spacious and accommodating. My daughter and I found this place while having a few days away. We were pleased to see some vegan options. We decided to get 2 different meals and share. We selected the take away option and it was delivered to where we were staying. We opened it up and couldn’t believe what we saw. We had stuffed peppers which we a bit under filled. And tacos which was very short on filling. The sweet potato fries were adequate. Then we hit the naked slaw. The best way to describe this the little paper containers they give you in hospital with your tablets it,was in one of those about twice the size with a few shredded pieces of cabbage and 1 piece Of red onion and for that we were charged £3.50. Had I eaten in I would have sent it back. Too overpriced for so little for me to return.

We come to the tipsy cow for dinner roughly once a month Our food has always been fantastic. Well if you like a bargain meal in a great atmosphere this is the place for you. Whether it's a late breakfast or early dinner there is all the traditional pub fare available. We were there on a Friday night and took advantage of the two steak meals and a bottle of house red for £25, really nice and a great deal you just couldn't beat, nice early evening atmosphere, fully recommend!

Went there with a mate for some food and a couple of drinks. Got the pizza deal for £7.50 (week days only between certain times) and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pizza. I was also given 2 small sides for free even though I read the deal incorrectly. Customer service very good and drinks prices are reasonable. All in all a good experience albeit a little quite, however it was a weekday.

We were all looking forward to having our New Years Eve here but sadly we were very disappointed. We booked the 3 course dinner and 3 of the starters were served cold. I advised the gentleman serving and said he would pass it on to the chef no apology nothing!!. Then came the mains the steak was overcooked and dry.. We then had to endure a very drunk girl screaming and dancing were we were sat , not ideal when you want to start the evening chilling before getting into part mode after the dinner. We paid and advised the grntkemsn if our disappointmrnt but he really wasnt interested at all. We decided to leave after the meal as we wasn't at all in the mood stay somewhere they didn't care, so we ended back at our friends. Very disappointing food and service.

This place just keeps getting worse and worse... "Vegan food" is terrible, makes me even doubt whether it's really vegan because of how grim it tastes. I've had the vegan hot dog and honestly, the most underwhelming dish I've ever had. A rotten looking, dry sausage on an even drier bread roll, accompanied by soggy and tasteless caramelised onions, which are probably pre-bought. I thought the chips would save it but nope. Didn't even ask for a refund, since the manager was "busy", probably working his a** off by counting money. Disgusting, there is no hope for this place.

Went to Tipsy tonight. 11 work colleagues to celebrate New Year. What a treat! Amazing main course. Buttermilk chicken was cooked to perfection....home made coleslaw and fries perfect. Atmosphere: just right. Then hot waffle and maple syrup. YUM! every team member LOVED what they had including vegans and veggie. Then .. to add to this perfect night....NHS staff get 25% off ! What a fantastic bargain. Well worth a trip.

Went there for lunch. A friend and I both ordered burgers: both were freshly cooked and tasted excellent. Service was also to a high standard. Will definitely be going back.

I was visiting some friends in Bournemouth at the weekend, and we went to The Tipsy Cow on the Saturday night.What a place! Great food at even better prices. The staff were very friendly and efficient. They also had a DJ on, fantastic atmosphere, lots of people dancing.There was a lovely outside are for smokers too.The food was so good that we went back again the next day for Sunday lunch. Love this place, would definitely recommend.

Me and my partner were visiting Bournemouth for a weekend and were looking for reasonably priced accommodation. We chose to stay in the self contained apartment underneath this venue and were seriously impressed with our stay. This doesn’t feel like a basement - it has its own airy and light entrance conservatory at the back of building. You step down into a exceptionally clean and well decorated flat with a well sized kitchen/living space plus separate bedroom and bathroom. Our host showed us around and explained how to get into town - just a short walk to bus that takes you straight into Bournemouth centre. He also invited us to dine up stairs....Upstairs we opted for the steak for two deal, which comes with a free bottle of wine on a Friday. This was fantastically executed and cooked exactly how asked. The service was friendly and good fun - the whole place just had a great atmosphere. We didn’t even make it into town the first evening as we had so much fun making our way through the cocktail menu, which are 2 for 1 on Fridays. We loved this place so much that we ate breakfast there on both mornings of our stay. Slightly more expensive in comparison with chain pubs and the like, but made tasty, quality ingredients - they even had gluten free bread.We hope to visit again in the spring.

Thought we'd give it a go and order from the tipsy cow. Beyond disappointed when it arrived. Even the lovely deliveroo driver told us the reason he was late was because he checked our order before leaving the cow and they'd forgotten to "cook" everything apart from 2 steaks. The garlic bread was garlic dough. The steak, absolutely destroyed. Chips & onion rings were soggy, cold and aneamic. The grilled tomato, mushroom and rocket that were supposed to come with the steak were non existent. And finally the chocolate torte was completely missing - Didn't find it amusing that it seemingly got swapped for a bunch of lollipops. Worst "food" ever. I'd give 0* if that was an option. Do yourself a favour and don't waste your money here, a pot noodle would be 100 times better than the stuff you get from this place!

Had taken car to garage, miles from home and had 5hrs to kill. Having found the high street from the garage, just as The Tipsy cow was opening. Popped inside met by a lovely staff member. Very welcoming place, great place to do some office work to pass the time.Great place to do some work, quiet, no anmoying noise, great ambient and polite staff. Car ready now and bill paid but didnt want to leave without leaving a review.

What an incredible venue!! Beautiful interior and outside areas. Food is very reasonable and with a wide selection of choices. The kids absolutely loved the food off the kids menu, and afterwards were more than entertained with the chest full of games and toys at their disposal. Personally, we have come back time and time again to the tipsy cow. The venue has a fantastic variety of events on weekends which includes bands and djs of the highest quality. Following this the atmosphere here is everything you could hope for and more so. We take pleasure recommending to our friends The Tipsy cow and believe that anyone looking for a great food, coffee and service will thoroughly enjoy it here. Following this, the staff at the tipsy cow are unbelieveable!! They are a joy to speak to and taking your order is a breeze. The manager is always on hand and very friendly and polite. The bar staff are absolutely incredible and go that extra mile to ensure you have a great time!! Enjoy The Tipsy Cow, you certainly won’t regret your visit!

We went early evening on a Sunday so the place was not busy. What the staff lacked in experience they made up for with enthusiasm and a willingness to help. Food was typical pub grub of a good standard.

My friend suffers from autism, which seemed to upset the highly strung DJ, who decided that this didn’t fit in with his target ‘cool’ demographic.Unbelievably, the doorman was called over and we were asked to leave because my friend’s mental heath issues were upsetting the poor DJ’s sensibilities. This was a first for me - life’s too short for conflict and I’m just about the least offensive person you could meet, but there you go.Sorry guys, not really covering yourself in glory there.

Dirty grubby place, it's a good job it was dark, filthy toilet no soap, cakes left uncovered on the bar. Kitchen door is disgusting, food was ok apart from the undercooked chips, the wait for food was far too long considering the place was empty

Had a rare child free Saturday and took a late afternoon stroll into Charminster to see what took our fancy for an early dinner. Opted for the Tipsy Cow and had a very nicely cooked Steak surf and turf and my wife had the Jack Fruit wrap which she enjoyed. It was early so the place was very quiet. The service was good and it was a nice experience all round.

Went for a meal with my family and grandchildren. Waited for 30 mins for mushrooms which were coldand hummus and another 40 mins for main course which included steaks which were raw in the centre. Manager could not be bothered and we walked out without paying for anything.

Myself and my father visited the tipsey cow with the intention of having a couple of drinks and some lunch.It started off poorly when I asked for a real ale and was told it was SOLD OUT!!!, so enquired what could be an alternative ie bottled ale but was told only lager. I wanted a relatively weak lager .....again I was told SOLD OUT!!! so had to settle for a premium drink. Not forgetting this was Father’s Day, surely you would plan ahead knowing that your custom should be busier than normal???It was apparent that the person serving me ( I think maybe the owner/manager) was having a bad day attitude was not very customer friendly.As I’m sure you can imagine.....we finished our drinks and left without eating.All in all not a great visit, extremely disappointing for what looks like a really nice place to dine. A bit more organisation with ordering stock and some training in customer service then I think things could improve.Won’t be going back for at least a few months....
