We'd heard about The Tinker's Granddaughter through a friend and so decided to try it out for ourselves and booked the Sunday Roast Club - we were not disappointed! The service was friendly and welcoming and the food was incredible. It was our first time trying Juicy Marbles steaks and I have to say, they were the best meat substitute I've ever had. The only downside was that the room was quite crammed. We ordered first and by the time our food was served, people were still queuing right behind us to order theirs - which I understand is unavoidable but did hinder the experience a bit. I also treated myself to a tiramisu to take away, which again was the best plant based tiramisu I've had. We loved the experience so much that we've already booked again for June!

Attracted by the name, this is a small plant-based food cafe on the high street, served v tasty coffee and b+b pud, they only serve pea based milk which looks grey and creamy but didn’t affect the taste of the tea. Overall v good.

The most amazing vegan food (and I'm a meat eater!). The mixed salad plate was amazing, really innovative combinations which complemented each other well. The pumpkin seed brittle was divine with the beetroot carapacio. I live over an hour away but can't wait to visit again! Even the vegan feta cheese tasted good (I haven't been convinced by previous vegan cheeses I've tried!).

What a great find in Lymington! Amongst a lot of chain coffee shops, this beautiful independent serves up fresh homemade food, cakes, great coffee and even greater wine! I’m vegan, but the rest of my family aren’t. The kids can be fussy, but we found them something and they were happy. All the food was super tasty. Epic kombucha selection and that tiramisu is a game changer! Lovely shop full of interesting goodies and quality vegan cheeses. Friendly staff and cool vibe. Can’t wait to return!

Lovely coffee and the best vegan sausage rolls we have tasted. So good I went back for a second one! Husband had banana toast with banana butter which he described as lush. Bought some vegan pate to take away

I’ve been meaning to go in here for ages and finally had some time to pop in - so glad I did! The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable about their products … I had a cup of (plant based milk) latte which was so creamy and delicious - and a piece of one of the most delicious banana bread I’ve ever had! Topped with espresso butter… such a treat! Highly recommend

What a cute little find in Lymington high street. Good location, nice quaint space, and lovely smiley service. The food is all plant based and absolutely delicious. The salads are a must, full of freshness and flavour. The BLT was so tasty, and similarly the beetroot tart. We also treated ourselves to the cheesecakes, so yummy. Nice coffee too and we made several purchases from the deli as they had items we cannot easily get hold of. Very enjoyable visit.

You definitely don’t have to be vegan to appreciate this excellent cafe. A bit quirky in presentation, in a nice way, pricing is mid range and the quality good. Well worth putting on your list of places to eat in Lymington.

What a great vegan restaurant! The salads change daily and are so unusual and delicious. The sandwiches with chosen fillings are very very good. I particularly liked the egg and salad, very tasty! The pastries are also incredible. The brownie just melted in my mouth. Only criticism is that they only have pea milk which I can't have and to be honest I'm more partial to oat milk in coffee. My group was a mixture of diets not just vegans and everyone enjoyed their meals.

Great place for lunch or just tea. Sat outside but inside looked inviting and, I have to say, the cloakrooms were clean and very well presented. Friendly service. Enjoyed a sausage roll and a salad - all good, and would return when next in the area.

We visited mid week at lunchtime and were surprised at how quiet it was. The staff were very accommodating as we had a small dog with us. We opted for the large plate (£13 each) of 3 different salads. All were beautiful, packed full of flavour and a great balance of textures. We are not vegetarians but do enjoy a day or two a week without meat and you certainly do not miss it with food like this. I would urge more people to give this place a try. Much better than some of the cafes and food outlets at the quay

We sat outside with our coffees - outside space good do with sprucing up a bit. Coffee very good and strong. I then went back for some takeaway salads in a box which were really tasty and colourful. Cakes looked delicious too.

Visited the Sail inn with my uncle who lives in Lymington. Previous experience at the pub had been very good however this visit has left a very poor taste in the mouth. While the fish and chips were adequate the use of some sort of paper to "soak up the oil" from the food was less than appetizing for my uncle who is elderly. While the stated serving hours were 12 to 3pm when I requested dessert and coffees we were told the kitchen was closed as the chef "had to be somewhere" Given the choice of quality establishments in Lymington we obviously regretted choosing The Sail Inn and won't be doing so in the future - the fact there was no warning that the kitchen was closing early is annoying however the actual decision to shut early on a Friday lunchtime in a competive marketplace is beyond me.

Popped in here for a breakfast, all the tables had ‘reserved ‘on them( a sign of a good place!) and we told the staff we were just after brekkie though it was nearing lunchtime. They reconfigured a table so we could eat and we had a lovely full english, quality sausages nice bread etc. will always go back there when we visit the forest
