Our second visit to Lymington, and we headed straight to The Cellar - where else can you get a bottle of Minuty Prestige for less than £35?! Charming service, and we also sampled the gin taster this time around - and each time we get the valuable window seat for excellent people watching. Can’t wait to return!

Friends of ours had been before, they thoroughly enjoyed it so recommended we try it when we all met there over the weekend just gone. We were seated on the first floor. Nice table for 4 in the window. Service started off impeccable, drinks flowed like water cascading down a mountain face. We'd been in there for a couple of hours, moods were high - we were engaging with other drinkers - having an all round fabulous time. Then came the kicker - whilst waiting for the little continental waiter to come back upstairs - we decided on our next drinks. When approached, the wife looked over to said waiter and said we'd like to order some more drinks please. To which the condescending continental (4ft tall) waiter barked - well you've had about 20 shots! And walked away explaining he'd be back in 2mins. Well Pedro, that is not the way to treat paying customers. Insulted by the unnecessary comments, we decided to leave paying our £258 bill and headed to the Kings Head. There is no excuse for being rude to paying customers, if there was an issue - there are ways in which to approach these and by your actions you've lost 4 customers. And the word of mouth from us would be, go to the Cellar - but don't enjoy yourself too much.

A real gem! We walked past The Cellar many times during our stay in Lymington but left it to the last day to properly check it out and we were not disappointed! You can pop in and buy a bottle (or two) or elect to buy a bottle and drink it in situ for a small corkage charge. We chose a relatively new red wine from Spain on the recommendation of the owner and it was delicious. We also had a mixed cheese and meat board which contained some of the most delicious cheeses I have had in a long time (try the Shepherds Purse blue cheese from Yorkshire...just divine!). Don't worry if you are not a wine fan as The Cellar has a large selection of gins and other spirits too! This is a place we will 100% return to when we are next in Lymington.

My husband and I, along with our daughter and Dachshund, decided to visit here of an afternoon after reading great reviews on Tripadvisor. We sat at the window seat in the front and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service, the staff (one of them was Katie, and the other was a lovely French gentleman who made our cocktails), the atmosphere, and the drinks, were fantastic. The cocktails (an Old Fashioned and a Pina Colada) were delicious. Our baby and dog were given lots of attention. The shop was stocked with a large variety of wines you could purchase by the bottle. This is a must visit when you go to Lymington.

We went here yesterday afternoon to have a look at the different wines. We discovered they did a wine tasting option so we went for it. We decided we would leave it up to the gentleman serving us who to choose the wines. My friend had a local sparkling wine from Winchester a rosé blush and a couple of whites. I was given 2 full body reds and also had 2 whites, these were all on the recommendation and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely return in the future and try the cheese board and selection of meats. Thank you for your hospitality.

Fortunate to have had the opportunity to do so quite a lot recently - if I was local this would be a regular haunt for me and the missus. My husband and I were staying in Lymington on the same street as The Cellar, at first we thought it was a wine shop, but we were recommended to visit by the lady in Osbourne Taylors on the High Street. (a lovely shop). What an amazing selection of practically anything with alcohol in it. I tried some of their own cocktails which were second to none. My husband enjoyed some of the unusual beers. The staff were attentive and what they didn't know about drinks wasn't worth knowing. The place is small, quirky and classy. We loved everything about it. We came across this bar on our first afternoon in Lymington and sat in the patio outside. I had a cocktail and my partner had a fancy gin - we had a good chat with the barman. The decor was cute and the vibe very relaxed. We ended up returning every night apart from one! There are seats upstairs, in the main bar and outside. Whether you want to taste some fancy gin, have a cocktail, try some delicious wine or sit in for a cosy beer (we did all of the above), this is the place for you! There are also a few actual tasting options where they can give you all the info. The bar also has great snacks - the olives were to die for. As well as the great booze, snacks and cosy atmosphere, one of the main reasons we enjoyed it so much here was the staff. They were so friendly and welcoming, it almost felt like you were chilling in a living room. I even had to ask to add a tip because they were so unassuming! We were quite sad to leave.
