The Tinder Box in Glasgow City

Mi esposo atrapó y rasgó su costosa chaqueta en un borde afilado de un marco en el baño del caballero. Reportado a la gerente y le dijeron que lo “grabaría” No lo suficientemente bueno. Mi esposo y yo hemos trabajado en hospitalidad y sabemos bien que su seguro está en vigor para enmendar incidentes como este. Por lo menos deberían haberse ofrecido a repararlo. Es imposible contactar con los propietarios de esta cadena. Su aplicación está convenientemente caída, su sitio web no proporciona forma de contactarlos y el personal tampoco puede proporcionar detalles de contacto. Muy decepcionante y nos ha pospuesto por completo siempre regresando. El incidente ocurrió en la sucursal de Byres Road. También tuvimos un café en Princess Square y lo mencionamos al personal allí también. Se llevaron los datos de mi marido para pasarlos a los dueños (que ella dijo que vienen todo el tiempo). Huelga decir que no hemos oído nada. El café es bueno, pero los baños dejan mucho que desear. Los baños Princess Square estaban sucios y necesitaban una renovación completa. No recomiendo

No me alojé ya que no hay muchas opciones de comida, así que muy decepcionante y el personal parecía aburrido, así que no invitaba en absoluto y era tranquilo, pero no es de extrañar! Esto fue de Braehead ha estado una vez antes de un buen café solo que no mucha variedad de comida, todo muy aburrido y solo pan blanco.

Le dimos toda nuestra orden a otra persona y luego nos dijeron que no quedaba comida. ¡Solíamos ir todas las semanas y evitaría este lugar! Tan molesto

Staff seem more interested in standing talking about their weekend, than making coffees people are paying over £3 for. This was my 3rd time trying to see if my previous experiences were just bad days but this is now the usual poor service. Will not be returning. Great place for a coffee and break in amongst shopping in Glasgow. Close to trendy shops in Ingram Street. But also well placed as midway point between shops in Argyle Street and Buchanan Galleries. Bit more character than the national chains.

El servicio fue superficial en el mejor de los casos, el barista empezó a hablar con la próxima al cliente antes se había terminado de tomar mi pago y el chico que me guió mi té y tostada caliente apenas me miraban.La comida era terrible. La tostada estaba etiquetada como "tostadas" y había sido pre-fabricados antes de ser calentado en el microondas. Fue hecha con pan blanco estándar y contenía una porción individual de mortadela (que se fastidió la butifarra cojines tan conocido al hombre). No hace falta decir que sabía a absolutamente nada. Además me podía sentir un poco de crujido en un punto y sólo puedo asumir que un poco hicimos amigos de tonos tenues contrastan había hecho hacia el sandwich.El pastel de zanahoria sabía a cualquier aceite vegetal habían utilizado para hornear y la mezcla seca para pasteles tenía un desagradable, indefinible retrogusto.Me senté en un asiento de cabina que era tan arrancada me podía sentir las un poco desesperante y cuero 'migajas' por mi ropa.¡Qué desperdicio de 10 libras. Yo nunca volveremos.

No había nadie en la caja registradora, así dando vueltas sobre el mostrador de recepción a un hombre hosco muchacho que me ignoró; luego otro cliente llegamos al registro de efectivo, y se sirve inmediatamente. Le pregunté que esta nueva al cliente no prioritaria y era muy brusquedad regañado por no estar parado en la caja registradora. Sin duda ninguna disculpa lo siento, no nos dimos cuenta que estábamos esperando, o amabilidad. El banco asientos de cuero falsa son casi todas se divide, y nada apetecible. Preguntar para obtener los códigos de acceso Wi-Fi reveló no todo el personal son corteses pero realmente demasiado tarde. Menaje para preparar té y café era bueno, pero se puede conseguir mejor café y pasteles en especial decoración y servicio básico en casi cualquier otro lugar a pocos metros. Parecía lleno, así que tampoco se ocupa de clientes habituales, depende de "carácter" o un mal día. Basados en esta última experiencia anterior menos probable.

Me parece tinderbox que tiene lo que sólo puedo describir como excepcionalmente sabroso café - un sabor único de café que no es demasiado fuerte. encontrar esta tienda de café más barato que es una razón por la cual me tienden a frecuentes aquí y las habilidades de los batistas en términos de arte latté son geniales. Una amplia variedad de atractivos pasteles son sobrios. Mi único aspecto negativo es que a pesar de mis propias preferencias en café estar un poco más fría que la del típico café (unos 65 grados) me pareció que el café no estaba lo suficientemente caliente. A mí no me importó, ya que me llamaron especialmente volver el café como espresso pero la leche podrían ser se llenaba un poquito más.

Mi hija encontramos este lugar cuando iba a encontrar WiFi una noche. Volví con ella la tarde siguiente y me sorprendió la copa e impecables superficies, aumentaron los niveles y un montón de asientos de madera color claro en la decoración. Nosotros pedimos té, pasteles y bocadillos, precios razonables y me dijeron que nuestro camarero cuánto me recordaba a cafeterías en Vancouver, Canadá. Me dijo que el lugar fue diseñada como una! La comida era buena y el lugar luminoso y bien ventilado, sin duda lo recomiendo

A very traditional cafe. No frills in seating and decor but the drinks and food excellent. Free WIFI. Good service and wel worth a visit.

Hard to miss, on the corner of Highburgh and Byres Road, this, the original Tinderbox. There are pluses and some minor negatives. Lets start with the negatives: some of the seating coverns are worn out and ripped. The WIFI was not working. On our visit, the in house music too load. The pluses, right in the centre of Byers Road and on many bus routes along with the subway station just 10 minutes walk away. Coffee was very tasty and served hot. It is self service so order, pay and collect from the counter. It is a prime position so would recommend the owners do a refurbishment as soon as possible to protect their business from the many nearby competitors. The student trade also needs protecting so make it a cafe one must visit.

This was undoubtedly my favourite coffee shop for years.... but seems that the atmosphere has changed somewhat. Hard to put your finger on it.Still a great place, but keep the elements that make TB TB!!

Looking up at the dust encrusted glass light fittings and the pealing paint its not so hard to see why this coffee shop is going off the frothed milk. They have refurbished the mens toilets but the staff need a bit of refurbishment as well. Young, totally disinterested, energy drained from the previous night I expect, add no romance to the poor quality of the coffee and the temperature of the milk. I had to repeat my order 4 times to the barista and even then he/she took the longest time that I've ever encountered to produce 1 flat white and a cappuccino.

Really lovely coffee, never bitter. Had a latte which was delicious. Also a custard tart with fantastic pastry. Would return.

Hard to miss, on the corner of Highburgh and Byres Road, this, the original Tinderbox has rightly become a coffee drinkers paradise. Taking pride in their products like only true anoraks can do, they never cease to lose sight that the customers tastes are those that matter. Highly recommended.

There is lots of competition in Byres Road for coffee and a bite to eat and Tinderbox has held its own for a good few years now. The choice of food is good and the coffee is always well made. A good vantage point to watch the comings and goings in the West End too.

All three sandwiches were just wonderful. Soup was great. My brownie was perfect. Don't think the 2 star rating reflects the current situation so give it a try.

Went on a rainy Wednesday morning for a coffee to Tinder box and between a fabulous Chai Latte and the smiley service, that made my day. A really great place for coffees, lattes and yummy baking. you can also have sandwiches etc.

Coffee was burnt, Cakes were okay, Juices and everything else overpriced. Nice site handy for west end but parking was a nightmare. For me the other coffee house opposite is better and best for cakes is Peckhams just down and to right opposite again

Fancy a coffee or a cuppa but NOT in a costa or Starbucks? Walk I min from GOMA and you'll find it. Great service an impressive range of sweet treats- waffles,Portuguese custard tarts and massive meringues - we went for vanilla with a raspberry coulis. Not sure of the 'allowance' but having finally logged onto the network, gone back to the server to get the code, input the code etc. I managed to work for a whole 20 minutes before being informed I'd 'used my allowance'. It wasn't like I was streaming music or downloading large files. I was completing a couple of doodle polls and sending a few e-mails. Certainly not what I expect of a coffee shop these days. The competition in this area is fierce and if it wasn't for the fact I was meeting someone I definitely would have moved venues to somewhere that can cope with modern demands!

Staff training required. Change of policy required - vis-a-vis how's about getting the staff to SERVE the CUSTOMER by delivering the food and drink to the table instead of just shouting out the order and having the CUSTOMER come an get it themselves. If I wanted this kinda SERVICE I could go to any supermarket cafe. Prices not too clever either.It's a pity 'cos this place has a lot of potential. But, until this 'self service' regime persists I'll take my CUSTOM, and BUSINESS, elsewhere when I'm down in one of my frequent business trips from Dundee.

I don't tend to get through to Glasgow that often, but Tinderbox is one of my go-to places every time I visit. Whether Byres Road, Buchanan Street or Ingram Street. Its where I go. The coffee is off the scale for drinking. Never yet have I had one bad one from them.If you are in the area, drop by and try. You won't regret it.

The two making the drinks couldn't keep a good pace with the orders being taken. I asked if I could have my tea in a mug/beaker rather than a cup - the assistant looked at me as if she had never heard of a mug - pointed to the stack of cuts and said "well we have these"!!!!!!!!!!!! Having paid I then waited for ages for tea to be made. Couldn't believe how slow the staff were - absolutely no sense of speed never mind urgency. It wasn't even particularly busy at 14:00 on a windy, cold Tuesday afternoon. Eventually I got my drink, found a table and then had to ask someone to come and clean the table. My friend arrived about 5 mins after I sat down and she too had to wait an inordinate length of time for a simple black coffee. Plenty of other places on Byres Road to go for teas and coffees to be back here. In fact - my tea wasn't even particularly hot so I left half of it. On the way home I went into Cup further up the road and had a lovely cup of really hot chocolate served by a delightful assistant and it was the same price as poor tea in Tinderbox

Not impressed by staff attitude this morning. Myself and my wife were made to feel very uncomfortable after a mix-up with our order. Not handled at all well. Won't be returning.

I went in for coffee and cake last Thursday 20.06.14 and I must say the staff are very friendly and the raspberry frangipan was delicious. However I'm afraid the cappuccino coffee left a lot to be desired. So different from Tinderbox in Buchanan street.

great food, service and internet, this is the place to meet and chill and take the wife for a coffee. It does it all and more , you can also sit outside if we ever get the weather.

Visited for a quick coffee to takeaway one rainy Sunday evening and was unimpressed. Goods were rather expensive in my opinion. My coffee was lukewarm which was unfortunate. One member of staff was pleasant and friendly where as the other which I came into contact with was abrupt and unhelpful. I didn't have anything to eat but they again seemed to be overpriced. Overall not a fantastic experience.

I regularly visit Tinderbox and my main reason for going is the 'London Fog'. Last Sunday I visiting the Princes Square branch and ordered as usual when the girl serving me said 'we don't do London Fogs' and I replied that I had had one only a few weeks before. She said that the no longer made them as the manager didn't want them making them anymore. I then asked if I could buy the element separately- earl grey tea- hot milk and vanilla syrup. The girl replied the that it would cost me about £6-£7!! Her tone was not friendly and her attitude towards me as a customer were not the normal friendly atmosphere that I usually get.

Always try and pope into this cafe for coffee and a delicious cake when I am in Glasgow. Good service with nice friendly staff. Good selection of cakes available. Great atmosphere to sit and relax and chill out.

Tinderbox is undoubtedly my favourite coffee bar in Glasgow. Great to grab a quick coffee, the service is always friendly and efficient. Coffee always up to standards and great place to meet a friends as it feels as if you could sit and relax there for hours!

They do a nice lactose free hot chocolate here. It's always very busy and it can be difficult to get a table. When you do, you'll have to clear the previous customers' empties away, which isn't great. There were a lot of flies as well. Reasonable prices.

I almost always chose Tinderbox Princes Square as my 'go to' city centre coffee shop, but over the past month there has been a disgusting manifestation of FLIES throughout the inside of the shop...! I first noticed it a few weeks ago when I picked up my girlfriends jacket, jolting back as over 8 flies shot up from the booth, circling the table. BOKE!Last weekend I visited with 4 friends, assuming they would have 'deep cleaned' the place to some extent..no such luck. The same booth was still infested and moving down to the main floor didn't help either, the flies just tagged along. Upon reaching for the cinnamon at the sugar/sprinkle area, I was greeted with all the extended insect family the moment I lifted the tin....rank rotten!As per usual with cost cutting, quality dropping coffee chains that treat their staff like drones (no tip jar..? I mean come on, even Starbucks offers an option to tip their staff at the counter!), nothing appears to be getting done about this, as it's another overhead that the number crunching management probably want to stay in denial about. My advice is, take a leaf from Artisan Roast's book and remember that attention to detail and a consistently high standard goes an inconceivably long way.The coffee here is also pricier due to the location, which is a farse to be honest as I really don't see why coffee prices should ever fluctuate if the product quality remains the same in every unit.Bottom line, avoid this place like the plague until they clean things up..unless feeling physically sick on your downtime 'to do' list'

Baristas seem to know what they are talking about and food on offer is good quality. Up-market version in comparison to some of the others on offer in Byres Road area.

The place is very relaxed, and location great. It is very overpriced, especially as some of the baking was burnt. I think they could charge alot less for some of the sweet items.
