We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! The food, service, atmosphere was lovely. We booked for 8 people including a child and we were placed in a comfy seating area next to a real fireplace (very accessible to our older family members near a disabled bathroom). We were kept warm the whole time. The drinks were served immediately while the food was served within about 20 mins. Our daughter played outside in the kids play area which we were so thankful for! A 3 year old can be tricky in restaurants without anything to play with. The food was well priced and incredibly tasty, I suggest the fish and chips! The only thing that wasn’t the best were the women’s toilets, there was water everywhere when we visited. Nevertheless, we will be coming here again, thank you!

Wow, fantastic food, although very very busy with a junior football team fundraising night, we really enjoyed the feel and atmosphere. We were staying in our motorhome, we had booked, a must I would recommend as the car park was full... Thank you to the folks on duty, we will return for sure.. 2 ehu available, large field behind, play area, and large decking area, with fabulous views.

We had a lovely evening with friends here on a busy sunny Friday evening. The food was great, staff were friendly and all in all a great atmosphere. Service was slow and food was about a 45 minute wait, but we were well warned and had good company. Having a park to keep the kids entertained was brilliant- though food can only be ordered to tables with table numbers (therefore not the ones surrounding the playground area). There are some outdoor tables that overlook the park but none close enough to run after younger kids if they have a tendency to sprint. (The park isn’t enclosed and there is access to the main road through the car park, or on the other side there’s access to the valley). The food when it arrived was great! Staff were friendly. The place was nice and clean.

Friday night for food with friends. Good food but a bit salty for me. Good service, friendly and attentive but not in your face. It felt really warm in the pub, unnecessarily so which wasn't pleasant! Would I go back? Yes. Would it be a regular thing? No.

We visited here with as a family for lunch after a lovely walk around Redmires reservoir. All the staff were amazing, the children were made to feel really welcome, as was our four legged friend. Food was lovely, I had a fish finger sandwich with fries which was delicious, kids had pizza and the hubby had a burger. We were served by a lovely young lady called Emily, couldn’t fault it, we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

So glad it’s reopened as it’s a great location with a huge garden and fabulous view but never previously seemed to fulfil its potential. We will return.

Great boozer for ending a walk at. Fantastic location next to some of the best walks in Sheffield (Stanage Edge/Rivelin valley etc) Hearty food inc good pies and decent range of ales. The garden is pretty epic, in that it just runs out into the wilds of the valley below. It does get busy at weekends -we went on a sunday lunch, but the staff seemed pretty on their game, and we never had to wait long for service. They also love dogs here, I mean, really love dogs. - they even serve a doggie portions of Sausage and mash!!

We visited the Three Merry Lads for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Damian was really welcoming, keep up the good work on socials as I was able to recognise you as I arrived. They have a great selection of good real ales, service was excellent and the pub was packed which was great to see. Everything looked really well organised from reserved tables with all condiments and cutlery there as you sat down. We enjoyed apple crumble for dessert and the portion was very big, definitely a portion for 2 people. They also allow motorhome stopovers which was perfect for us. Lovely views over the back and really quiet overnight. Thanks Damian and team we would highly recommend your pub/restaurant and good luck with it all.

Great location and nice atmosphere inside. Food was terrible and had to ask for the table to be cleared and wiped down. It was cleared but never wiped down and it was filthy from the previous sitting! I struggled to eat my burger with the bun having to be cut with a streak knife it was so tough! Everyone else left the majority of their food as well. Really disappointed as we were all really hungry. 29th Sept - return visit under new management. Lovely pub and atmosphere with log fire. Food tasted excellent! Great improvement over previous owners. However, small portions for the price. Great Sausage and mash but it was one sausage and one Yorkshire pudding. The beef was not rare as stated on the menu, it was very well done, even a bit tough in places. Was left feeling a bit disappointed and hungry.

Had a fantastic meal (hunters blue chicken). The food is clearly freshly prepared, home-cooked, and arrived hot and well-presented. The staff were amazing, very attentive (including in-meal courtesy checks), and are clearly happy to be working in this establishment. The prices of food, and at the bar are reasonable (particularly the £9.50 lunch menu), and are comparable (if not slightly below the local competition). There is a huge assortment of lager, amd hand-pulled/ draught ales. Furthemore there is a very large selection of non-alcoholic beers, ciders and spirits (alongside some premium soft drinks). Parking is wholly adequate, seating is available inside and outside, and the views from the outdoor seating areas are absolutely stunning (day and night). All-in my visit was excellent and I will certainly be returning in the near future! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Love this pub, but need to get their act together. Arrived around 5:15 was told food was served until 6 and they gave us menus. Tried to order about 25 minutes later and was suddenly told they weren't serving food anymore. And yet another member of staff came out and was surprised we didn't order any food so clearly mixed messaging from staff. Later overheard the member of staff who denied us food mention how she need to relax with a drink and saw them sitting around drinking moments later so appeared they just couldn't be bothered. It's a kid friendly pub and we had hungry children. If you want to stop serving food early, fine, but don't change your story last minute. Not a good experience this time around.

Came here with my family for a drink and to keep the little one entertained however on arrival we saw some kids around 12,6 and 7 throwing woodchips on the slide to the point you couldn't slide down it properly, climbing and hanging on the tops of the smaller slide making it unusable for the others (not the staffs fault but thought I would mention it.) We also went to get a ice cream, asked for a couple of different ice lollys until they finally had one, you'd think they'd tell you before hand but nothing. Went into the bathroom also and that was dirty (now this is for the women's bathroom bare in mind) but none of the toilets flush leaving a fowel smell of fermenting pee and the toilet roll was completely used up and on the floor. The taps we're unusable, one of the taps didn't work for seemingly no reason and one of the caps came off and didn't screw back on, there was soap all over the sink and the floor was dirty.

Since being taken over it has become quite run down, the toilet are particularly disgusting - womens toilets had only 1 of 4 taps working the rest were broken, since we're filthy, none of them flushed, horrible festival type smell and to top it off, a lovely amount of flies. Inside is in desperate need of a lick of paint, carpet is very worn and it seemed very dark even on a glorious summer afternoon. Staff seemed a bit nervous when serving. Outside feral kids were running about screaming, literally screaming, running inbetween tables, rubbish under tables, older children throwing woodchips all over and down the slides, running up and blocking the slides so none of the younger children could go on anything. For some reason the lawn was being mowed right next to the playground so bad times for any hay-fever sufferers and anyone sitting near it as the grass was flying everywhere. I used to come here quite a lot but can't say I'd come back any time soon given how it was today.

Recently re-opened, apparently has been renovated but seems to be exactly the same inside. Drinks selection pretty boring and similar to as before, food average. Unclear why food can’t be served in the beer garden (only on patio/decking), isn’t much further to walk. Beer garden also reconfigured so benches are all crammed together next to play area, with an area of grass now left unused, shame as used to be well spaced out. Prices are extortionate for food and drinks for what you’re getting. Hope it does well as it’s a great setting, but not the best start.

Don't bother if you are gluten free, the menu online suggests there is a great choice but the menu in the pub is seriously stipped back. No GF pie, hardly any GF options. We went early (6.30pm) and half the stuff wasn't available. Wine was sour (malbec). Staff had a "not bothered" attitude, a lot of huffing and puffing. The view is good from the back of the carpark though 😂 In the end after 4 things I wanted were not on the menu I ordered what was advertised as a GF burger... what came was a dry patty and chips. When the waitress asked why I was looking at it funny I asked where the bread was... she looked genuinely confused and said... we don't do GF bread. At this point I just laughed. Looked at the reviews and the menu online beforehand and it seemed great, so we decided to visit. Upon arrival, no drinks menu available. It would have been nice to be informed by the bar staff that we had to order at the bar, instead of us sitting at the table waiting for someone to take our order like a couple of lemons. The menu was only half the size of the one we viewed online. We are both gluten free and they had many options from the online menu. The lamb shank was missing from the menu. The calamari was missing from the menu. My girlfriend settled on halloumi fries and was told that they don't have any so she went without a starter. The bar man was very good at huffing and puffing. My starter of chicken wings said it came with lime creme fresh.....it didn't! The wine was a little sour. My girlfriend ordered a gluten free burger and it arrived without bread. We asked where the bread was and was told "we don't do gluten free bread!" So basically a gluten free burger is a burger with no bread which in my opinion, you can't call it a burger. The main meal tasted alright but it was £20 and the portion was tiny with a lack of potato's and vegetables. Such a huge disappointment and will not be returning. I am looking forward to some nice soup and bread in the motorhome later 😋

Pretty good wine choice and a tasty whitebait starter. Ordered tacos for main, one beef one chicken. Both very tasty but cold. Brought this to the attention of the staff. We were offered a replacement but turned this down as we did not want to see the food go to waste. However we did think an offer of a discount in acknowledgement of our complaint would have demonstrated good customer service. On mentioning this before leaving, still no offer of recompense. If they've made their money in the daytime on food, they can't wait to get you out. Their website says 10.30, but on a recent visit it was 10.00 and the lights went out. If this early closing is due to only a few drinkers being in after 9.30, perhaps that's because they close early. In any case, the customer comes second and I doubt I'll waste my time going again.

Visited last weekend to celebrate a special 90th birthday with family. Fabulous food and service. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating of our requests. Even though it was busy, the food arrived promptly and was plentiful and delicious.

This location is wonderful - we booked a room for a family get together for 25 of us. The room was private, the service we received was second to none and the food was absolutely superb. We set up a tab and paid the very reasonable bill at the end. The host served us well with courtesy and a smile and both courses of the meal were served and cleared promptly and quickly. Thankyou - we will return.

Visited for lunch this weekend but fortunately we called ahead and booked a table so no issues there. Food was excellent despite how busy it was. The kitchen staff must have been ran off their feet and everyone who ordered was advised of a predicted wait on orders. For anyone who expects processed microwave crap served in a few minutes when it’s busy, your in the wrong place. See you soon.

We came here after a trip to the Peak District, it was rather busy however managed to get a table and got told the food would be 40 mins - 1hour wait. We thought this was fine as it was bank holiday so understood some delays can happen. We had an autistic child and a 1 year told therefore after 1hour 20mins, we asked how long it would be, to them be told it’ll be 15 mins and offered us a free drink as an apology. We then got our food 1 hour and 50 mins after ordering, for it to come back either not cooked or too overly cooked. The fries with the burger meal, the kids meals and on its own were barely cooked - quite hard and the steak (ordered medium) came well done , very tough and was dry. Along with this the vegetarian burger meat patty was crumbling apart because it was burnt. We called a member of staff over who rudely advised we only had been waiting 20 mins over the expected time as a response, therefore we asked him to get the order ticket and he corrected himself. He kept apologising for the food, and advised he couldn’t re fund us and could only re cook the steak(nothing else as there was various other errors) - he did even say himseld he wouldn’t pay for what we had given him. we asked for a refund instead as we had had a pregnant lady, two unrested children with us - as one is Autistic, it isn’t easy to wait much longer. We felt the staff knew the issues around the meal, as we had paid £96 - the wait was unacceptable and the meal placed infront of us was appauling. On top of this, the lack of understanding for families and the rudeness displayed when questioning a customer on their wait time was certainly not good service. I would not waste your money coming here again

Called for drinks and food, the views are great and the pub was quite busy. But the food was really poor, around £14 for a burger and chips ..it looked the part but wasn't very nice and the inside of the burger was totally raw(I know beef can be served pink) Would go again but just for drinks and the views

Birthday meal Friendly staff, delicious food (though fet obligated to take home the second linguine which came to our table home since there had been one too many ordered and order not clarified. Half the seafood missing from the take home pack) Family over from Australia enjoyed the food. The only thing that spoilt it were the kids from that table next to us running in and out and had to be asked to watch were they where walking and banging into

We were recommended to come here by a local and we weren't disappointed. We had lunch and the storefront was wide, from standard pub grub to slightly more exotic (pigeon croquette anyone). The portions were large and piping hot and delicious. Their beer selection is also wide. Highly recommended.

Lovely staff at counter, who served my my steak pie. The filling was tasty and the pastry was flaky. Not a bad price either, but would have liked more filling.

El bacalao Tandoori estaba delicioso. Estaba bien presentado aunque el plato podría haber estado más caliente. El personal era muy reventado, pero el joven que sirve era muy atento y era un crédito para el restaurante.
