Called to the Sherwood with a friend for lunch. The woman who served me behind the bar was awful, really rude and impatient. When ordering food and drink she kept huffing and puffing, sighing and basically acting very unprofessional. She looked in her 40's, blonde hair. I ordered fishless fishfingers on a baguette with iceberg lettuce and tomato sauce. No tomato sauce, I had to ask for it. No butter, it was so dry I had to ask for some. The worst food I've ever had. So bad service, awful food. I will NEVER spend my money in there again.

It was bedlam, young kids running around, the staff were friendly and service was quick but we won't be rushing back I'm afraid

We arrived as a booking of 15 and were quickly seated in an area which was private and had plenty of room for us all! Staff were incredibly friendly throughout our visit, especially the service at the bar. Will definitely return for future celebrations.

Our local and always good friendly service. We visited today, the fish and chips were lovely, crispy batter and really tasty. Staff were all lovely and service was quick.

Called in on way to a show, great carparking for disabled in front of the main doors Ordered two meals and two desserts with drinks, food was cooked to perfection, service was fast and friendly, nice laid back atmosphere, bar staff very welcoming

Came in for lunch with friends had the fish cakes with a side of salt and pepper fries Was Lovley Had Susan and Shannon serving was both friendly and helpful and Olivia brought the food out very polite and checked back Highly recommend

Went in for a wake after a funeral, this week one of the bar staff was really obnoxious little guy with glasses black hair, telling us he had the right to not serve us because we had been in along time, even though we had put X amount of money over the bar and just played pool and kept to our self's, the lasses round the other side were absolutely gems, He needs to check his attitude

Had a 21st birthday party for my son the staff where amazing the food was hot and very tasty the only down side was they didn't corner the area off so people kept walking in .

This place was amazing. Staff was really friendly and polite and helpful. I didn't book a table for 5 friends and I. And the staff went above and beyond to find a table for us. Food was great and the prices was reasonable. Thank you for a great experience

Used to love coming here, now it feels so dreary, staff used to be friendly and cheerful now just slow, uninterested and some even rude. Food used to be decent and today was just abysmal, ordered a steak medium came more on well done side, so sent back and then next one was medium temp for 2 bites and then rest was just well done again.. after that we just left as was too late to wait again on a 3rd attempt. Used.to love it here but now we will just go elsewhere

Ordered the new item sloppy Joe on Texas toast only to be givin something different to what I ordered because they haven't got it without asking me was given Mac cheese what I can't stand no apology no money back disgraceful and disappointing

No did not enjoy it at all, spent all that money on rubbish my steak was all grissle, my husbands had to be warmed bk up. Will not be coming here again.

A change in management has seen a reduction in staffing levels, whilst I accept that it is difficult to staff up on walk ins etc, it is also not acceptable to be waiting to be served at the bar for more than 5 minutes at a time, as a regular customer and noticing the difference I believe it is time for me to change venues, a shame as the staff who work there are approachable but now under immense pressure, certainly not a community venue anymore and falling under the corporate business of not caring anymore.

Went for a social drink and food on Friday night. Bar staff was very friendly. Staff was constantly collecting glasses and keeping the outside area clean

Went in for dinner last week was brilliant, food was fast and staff was lovely the new manager is great too think it's defo going to be my new place to eat out.

Had the Tues special - build your own meal. Half chicken,jacket spud and coleslaw. Shame the coleslaw was poor standard - not much taste and texture like chewing concrete

Went with a group of friends so we made our own atmosphere, usual food for hungry horse

Really good prices on drinks, especially non alcoholic ones. Quick to serve, plenty of seating, and a car park. Would recommend

The food was so nice! We went on Saturday and had the "any special for £9" deal. So worth it. I had the Katsu special... fantastic, great portion size, brilliant value for money. It's a Hungry Horse, so: There's different deals on each day of the week. The menu is so diverse, there's something everyone would like. The atmosphere was lovely and the resturant was clean.

Good pub ,good value food but really ,three TVs playing full blast , different programs? You can't hear what they're actually saying , a cacophony of random sound , even if you did want to watch the TV ,which I don't ,vi don't go to the pub to watch the TV, mute the TVs please!! They sorted it 😂👍

First visit to the Sherwood as recommended by a friend. I ordered the mix it up special, there’s so much to choose from. The food was very tasty and hot. The staff serving were very polite and friendly and made up feel very welcome. They could do with updating the outdoor area as it looks a little tired, would be great in the summer time.

Friendly place and a good choice of gluten free food. Shame the cheese cake was out of stock. I will definitely be back...

Service is good, but the food wasn't nice today,we had chicken new Yorker,it tasted rubbery,didn't like It all all.also asked for no BBQ sauce as GF but they brought it out with it on then took it back n fetched me another without .wasn't enjoyable at all. But I still like it's local ,

The staff were very helpful but the tables were very far and between dominated by reserved seats would not go back to the Sherwood

Sticky tables and the mixed grill had chicken that had never seen a grill, it tasted boiled 😳. Reply.... Clean the tables properly and grill the items on the mixed grill I ordered.

The food is always great in here and big portions. Also there's free WiFi.

Solid little pub with great food and decent prices. Only let down in the ambiance department due to a lack of music.

Seam to be our place for family get together or birthday meals. friendly staff Ben and Joseph on the tills making sure we have all we need same with the waiters always checking on you. Good atmosphere and have the other side if your just wanting a few drinks. Can never complain its great value all round for quality meals to suit everyone.

Not been here for a while. Ate here at 1pm Thursday 9th November. Service good, staff friendly and food was brilliant. Great deal too at two meals for less than £12. Only down side to our visit was a table of young mums letting their annoying little kids run round screaming and going under tables and staff did not tell them. This is a food place where people want to eat and enjoy themselves, its not a play ground.

Meal to celebrate a family birthday. Great food, excellent value, friendly helpful staff. We'll be back!

It is a good place to go but the only thing that could be better is maybe have more outdoor seating but overall it is a good place to go

Normally I love the food at the Sherwood but this time not so much . I ordered the 12oz stake after cutting 3oz of fat off it ended up with a very chewy 8oz steak and the chip where very bland will not be visiting again the Sherwood has gone downhill

Went today, presentation awful. Ordered the crown of sliders with garlic bread and onion rings. Everything was cold, no check back and no member of staff when went looking. Had good food before but certainly won't be rushing back.

Regular pub food. Suitable for families in daytime, with a plethora of food choices & deals. Could offer a more extensive Vegetarian menu. Coffees aren't great. Sometimes too watery. Been in several times, staff can't seem to master the Art of coffee making (even from the machine. Might be poor quality?). Staff are friendly & accommodating. Booths have screens with cartoons to keep the kids entertained. A different vibe at night in comparison to the day. :)

I had fish n chips and my friend had scampi, food was great, service was great, pity parents could not control their kids!!

I came up to the sherwood pub for a catch up and to play quiz and bingo with a friend I've not seen in months, but mainly to play bingo, and the bingo is after the quiz but for some reason they did the quiz but no bingo. Not happy at all!!!!! Don't know why, but yeah not happy!

First time visiting . I was very impressed with the food quality even though if was buy one get one free. It was very quick and easy to order using the Green King app . All the staff were friendly and polite . My overall experience here was first class i cannot fault anything about my vist . I would recommend everyone to give it a try

We have been going in here for many years now, Gavin and the team always give us a warm welcome. This is a great place to eat with the family or friends. It's also a great night out in the other side where the DJ's are, brilliant atmosphere and great music.Give the Sherwood a try, you will not be disappointed

Who doesn’t love not cooking and washing up especially on a Sunday.. Wow, our visit to the Sherwood did not disappoint, it was great, all the staff followed all covid rules which put us at ease, they also couldn’t do enough for us making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for making our visit enjoyable
