The Three Locks Golf Club and Bistro in Milton Keynes

Great food, great location, really enjoyed our evening as Australians visiting from overseas we throughly recommend this place if you are looking for a traditional English pub experience by the loch.

I'd never been here before. And i was shocked if I'm honest. I had roast pork which was ok. Bit tough to cut through with a blunt knife. Vegetable selection wasnt the greatest. The chocolate orange cheesecake was amazing! But for what you got costing 8.50 was terrible. Service was okay but not very smiley.

I really enjoyed the course. It was fun and interesting. I would recommend using a buggy and driving as fast as you can over the bridges.

Our annual Ex Senior Captains away day for 2020 was originally booked in 2019 but because of Covid it was rolled over until August 2021. Three Locks GC has been very accommodating and agreeable with all of our requests including several changes to the number of golfers, finally there were 13 of us. We were warmly greeted by Colin on our arrival at 9am and our coffees and bacon rolls were quickly served up to us on a nice sunny terrace. The course was in good condition although the greens were a lot slower than what we are used to at Aldwickbury. I say the course was good there are a couple of quirky holes and a few cross overs that might be a problem when the course is very busy. The course could do with a lot more direction sign to show where the next tee is, as first time visitors it was a bit difficult at times to find where the next tee was. Our lunch of ham egg & chips was served efficiently on the patio which on a sunny August afternoon was very pleasant. Overall it was a very good day at a reasonable price on a good golf course that was not overly busy, highly recommendable.

We came to eat here, and we were at the bar getting a drink, from where we were standing we noticed that there was a little dog in the kitchen area. I find that quite concerning that they would be ok to have a dog of any size in a food preparation zone! It may be a family run business but bringing the dog in goes a bit too far for me...

Very friendly, great service and great food. Perfect venue for our family get together. They even looked after our family dog! Amazing!

A group of us (8) decided to have an away day and play another course. Chose 3 locks as completely different to our home course. Was surprised how quiet the course was perhaps seniors were playing away. Course was in good condition with excellent greens especially with the dry weather we have had recently. Course is quite challenging and game needs to be managed with water and brooks etc. around. All enjoyed the day.

I am a member at this golf course. Customer service is generally very good but was twice spoken to by the owners son in a condescending and rude manner. He offered to pay our taxi fare to the next golf course as he regarded our complaint as an annoyance. A few old members have preferential booking times and thus as full members cannot book a preferred time nearly every week. This should be spelt out to prospective members before they join. Not a happy member who will definitely not be renewing our membership. I do not spend my hard earned money to be abused by some individual that knows very little about customer service. What 3 Lockes is good at is asking members for early renewal to aid their liquidity....focus on the important stuff! 😡😡

Brilliant work christmas party venue, so easy to work with the organisers to put together our needs, food was excellent, dj was great and the venue was cosy, well decorated and the staff were a pleasure, already considering our booking for next year!

We had family all ages, and close friends and neighbours, work friends and had a great time. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for us, food was brilliant and our organizer Julia was first class. Weather was very much on our side, a lovely evening to sit on the veranda and welcome people, very convenient with the car park adjacent. D.J. kept the music going all evening with choices that were appropriate for the mood, as the evening progressed.

We were exstremely impressed with the night at the Three Locks Golf Club. The food was of a high standard and plenty of it.The staff were pleasent and helpful. They have a good varied menu to cater for all tastes. The venu has space outside were you can have a drink prior to sitting down for dinner. There is plenty of car parking space, pleasent surroundings. Would definatley go there again. All our guest were impressed as well.

We met with events planner Julia Faid and chose The Three Locks Golf Club venue for a combined family anniversary/birthday party as it met all of our needs. We were not dissapointed. On the day the Bistro area was screened off for our private use ,but we were able to also use the adjacent club bar and terrace overlooking the golf course. We had a buffet lunch and the food was fantastic. As was the excellent service from the staff on the day, Dan, Niall and Roddy ? We couldnt fault anything so thanks to everyone for making the day special. Its certainly a great place to hold a party. We would cetainly come back again.

Had a joint 50th Party last weekend - everything went to plan - even the weather! It was great that our guests were able to sit outside overlooking the golf course, with the DJ playing the music loud enough to entice us in for a dance, but not too loud that we couldn't have a conversation! The DJ was arranged by the venue and he was great - played a selection of music as we had various age groups there. The bar staff worked really hard too and were really attentive. Julia and her team made our evening hassle-free and I would really recommend this perfect venue!

We hired the golf club for my husband’s 40th birthday party this week and it was the perfect venue. Julia and her team worked really hard to make sure that everything I wanted to make the party special and memorable for my husband and all our family and friends was catered for. The food was excellent and the venue is perfect for a summers evening as there is a fabulous terrace overlooking the golf course. I would highly recommend for a private function.

The club hosted an engagement party for my son and future daughter- in-law. They did a first class job, the staff could not have been more helpful the food was excellent and everyone enjoyed a great evening. Thank you for everything

We held a gathering here after my Mums funeral- it was the perfect place-excellent buffet, great service-friendly staff and perfect location. Plently of space for everyone

Lovely venue, good buffet food, excellent friendly bar staff who work hard to look after you. The venue also organised a DJ who went down well. All in all it was a great Xmas party, thank you.

We had our Cricket club presentation evening last night, service was excellent so friendly, buffet was hot and delicious, and disco was great fun, the venue was warm and spacious toilets lovely and very clean. Definitely recommend it for any occasion A+++++++

Attended The Three Locks for a Charity Function in the evening. The waiting staff were attentive and the food was delivered in a timely manner. The courses were presented throughout the Charity Quiz with regimented precision. We ordered from the special menu in advance and this certainly an asset for the kitchen. Steaks were tasty as were the other dishes ordered. Would look to eat here again when in the area next.

We had a great evening at 3 locks Golf club being entertained by Alvin, aka Elvis last Sunday. Well organised & a superb venue. Have no idea about the food as we didn't eat there.

We played 18 holes in glorious summer weather. An interesting, thinking and challenging course - not totally flat but undulating for several holes. Above average in all aspects - design/layout, condition, variety etc.

It was wonderful food and staff were excellent I would recommend it anyone all our guests were also impressed

We booked this venue for our annual New Year Lunch for 36 people and were more than pleased with everything. The food was excellent, the staff so pleasant - efficient but really friendly and the setting was lovely. Throughout the whole process everyone at the Three Locks Golf Club Venue was so helpful and pleasant. We will certainly be returning next year.

We held our annual Christmas Party at the Three Locks Golf Club on Saturday 3rd December. Julia was extremely helpful during the whole booking process and lead up to the event and able to answer the many questions we had. The night was wonderful. We had the whole venue exclusively to just our party. The room was set out nicely and we added our little touches to the tables prior to the party commencing (crackers, etc). The staff on the night were extremely friendly and any extra requests were not an issue to them. The food was excellent. Our whole party commented on how delicious the food was. The entertainment was great. DJ played a good choice and mixture of music for the different ages in our party. I definitely would recommend this venue to others and we would not hesitate to return next year. Thank you again!

I booked this location for my son's 1st birthday. It was absolutely perfect. The staff were so kind and helpful. They kindly created space for our baby toys so they could play together and turned the music up and down too as the party started. They were incredibly helpful and friendly the whole time and leading up to the event. Any questions I had were answered promptly. The location is brilliant, gorgeous views and interior design plus it's easy to find. The food too was really good and went down pretty quickly! All round excellent value for money. I would highly recommend this location for birthdays and events.

I chose this venue to host a surprise 40th party for my husband and it didn't disappoint. Julia was amazing from start to finish and helped answer a multitude of questions that I sent her way.On the day itself, Rico the Bar Manager was very helpful when i went along earlier to decorate the venue and was friendly and put me at ease for all the last minute preparations. The Bar Staff and Catering stuff who served the buffet were fab too and all were polite and professional.Great atmosphere, great party, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Was very disappointed had heard good things about this course but was massively let down!!To start with the Tees were more sand than green the fairways were long and clearly not looked after and the greens were worst I've ever come across! Directions going from hole to hole were poor and the course map given was deceiving Could be a really nice course but needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard at moment worse than a council course !

We had the best time for my husband's birthday party. Your staff looked after us really well; the food was great, with plenty of it, replenished regularly to stay fresh. No hassle for me whatsoever and as the weather was fine everyone made good use of your great outside space. The disco you recommended was also spot on and I will send Nigel a message to say thanks.You have a wonderful venue and I would not hesitate to book a party with you again – nor would some of my guests

Society golf event in July...the venue could not have been more helpful. Great course for all levels - quite up and down for the first 6 holes then the rest down in the valley. Lots of interesting holes and no 2 the same. Plenty of water to keep it interesting! Breakfast then 11 holes am, lunch, 18 holes pm followed by dinner - great value! All the staff were welcoming to the group and made sure everything went well for us. Could not fault the day...will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic evening at the Three Locks Golf Club & Bistro for my 70th b/day party Sunday 19th July. The venue was exactly the right size for family and friends - with room for our excellent band and a dance floor. It has nice decor, comfortable seating and a lovely outside patio. All my guests liked the venue and said the buffet was yummy and the staff were very helpful.

Just wanted to say i had the pleasure of playing the 3 locks this morning for the first time in years. I used to be a member of mentmore. The course today was awesome!! Greens were amazing. Beautifully cut..true and fast. Cant recommend it enough for the price of green fees. May become a member in the future.

I held my 50th birthday party here and we all had a fantastic evening. The size of the venue is perfect and very atmospheric with room for a band, as well as space to dance, chat or chill at the bar. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the whole evening flowed really well with nothing for me to worry about. Thanks to Julia for helping me to plan the event too. A great venue in a lovely setting. Thoroughly recommend.

We hired the bistro/venue for our son's first birthday party. Julia & Rico did a great job of helping me plan the details and making us feel welcome. We had lots of kids and babies kept entertained by Sunshine Softplay and so the adults could relax a little in the beautifully elegant venue and enjoy a drink from the bar. We chose buffet A and the food was good and there was more than enough to go around. We needed to bring our own high chairs as they don't get many little visitors but that worked out fine.The terrace would have been put to more use by us if the sun had come out but it was still a fantastic party. I must say Rico & the staff were fantastic on the day, solving little problems as they came along; where to park to buggies, what to do with food & cake and being easily called upon if we needed them, without getting in the way. I'd certainly recommend The Three Locks GC Bistro for any party. If they can do such a great job looking after us and a dozen babies - I can't imagine what they can't do!

I play golf here from time to time and always liked the look of the bistro, so we chose it to host our 25th celebration. Everything ran very smoothly. The staff (Rico and the whole crew) were excellent and the food (indoor hog roast) was plentiful and delicious. Lots of positive comments from out guests about the quality of the food and the venue itself. We hired a singer and he worked seamlessly with the 3 Locks staff to get set up. The layout was perfect and, all in all, the whole event went exactly to plan and we had a wonderful time!

The atmosphere was great, the room size adequate, we had a lovely Elvis impersonator, so plenty of plugs to set up his equipment and good lighting. The staff were courteous and helpful, and everything was cleared quickly afterwards. Nothing to even worry about.The feedback was great, will definitely use this venue again

For the second time we have used the golf club bistro for a special family party (30th). The help and support in the run up to the evening was excellent and very friendly, nothing complicated. On the night in question everything went like clockwork, the food was great and the tables etc laid out just as we had requested. Recommended if you have a special party or family event coming up in the Leighton Buzzard area

This was a great venue for my mates wedding dinner and reception, service was quick all round, the food was amazing, great selection of alcohol, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and couldn't say a bad word... I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Recently played golf here. The guys who runs it was very helpful and I would definitely play the course again. I would have actually considered becoming a member as it offers great value for money. What detracted from the whole experience was the service in the club house. The young bar maid was extremely rude and made us feel like we were a nuisance for wanting to spend our money as it would mean that she would have to actually do something. A real shame and I would have mentioned to the boss at the time however the right opportunity to do so didn't arise.

Thanks very much for an excellent experience given the occasion. Patrice, Rico and Julia were very attentive and accommodated all our needs. The inside and outside space were just what we needed and the buffet for about 40 guests was of good quality and the quantity spot on. Thanks again for a memorable afternoon.

This was the first year we have held a charity golf day at the Three Locks and we were very impressed. The staff were nothing but friendly, and very helpful, both during the lead up to the event and on the day. The guests all seemed to enjoy themselves, and it was great value for money.

We recently celebrated our Golden wedding at the Three Locks Golf Club,The venue suited our 30 guests and the food was excellent.We chose the menu prior to the party and serving went without a hitch,in fact we had phone calls from family and friends complimenting the food and staff.Thank you all at the three locks golf club.

First visit here since the new buildings have appeared. Lovely facilities for our annual dinner (about 50 people). The food was nice & well served. Nice bar area. Good parking. No complaints on the golf day. Would be good for weddings/family does.

We hosted a baby shower here and the service we received was second to none. Each and every guest commented on how good the food was too! We were lucky enough to have a sunny day too and so our gathering spilled out on to the terrace as well. Communication and planning was dealt with promptly and perfectly. A huge credit to Julia in particular - thank you for all your help! A memorable day had by all, finding the slightest excuse to host another gathering here soon!

I would like to thank the Three Locks Golf Club for their wonderful organisation for my 70th birthday celebration. From our first talk with Patrice a couple of months before the event we were explained all that the Three Locks Golf Club had to offer as a venue . The menu was explained and our choices made. The table plan and settings were also talked about. The day before the event we returned with flowers and napkins for the table and finalised details.Everything was so perfect for my party, Patrice and the staff were polite and caring, the sun shone for us, and our party was able to be private from the golfers and we had lovely outside usage as well. Very useful with 4 children in our group! The food was superb, compliments to the chef!!! I thoroughly recommend this venue and Three Locks Golf Club, you are simply the best !!! Thank you again. We had taken a canal boat for three-days and by the time we got under way we only made it to the three locks by 6pm on day one (thank goodness). It was a wonderful haven - good range of beers and a good mixed menu that met the needs of our party (4 adults and 2 kids (10 and 11 yrs).The food was well cooked and well served in a reasonable time. It is important that you do not confuse the Golf Club Bistro with the nearby Gastro Pub. The Three Locks is a family run golf club and bistro and an excellent venue for any occasion. If you are part of a golf society this is the ideal venue with a very warm welcome, excellent food and drink and a beautifully maintained, challenging golf course. I have held society days at the venue for up to 72 people and the assistance and co-operation I have received has been second to none. They will also happily accommodate a 2 or 4 ball at very, very competitive prices. The value for money is truly exceptional.I have also visited the venue for business lunches and the hospitality is of a very high standard. You are highly likely to encounter Rico on your visit, and in my opinion he is the backbone of The Three Locks front of house. Like the rest of the staff he is extremely cheerful and always ready with his dry sense of humour. They have an excellent selection of food and drink at very reasonable prices and the whole team will bend over backwards to make your lunch, round or function go smoothly. It is without hesitation that I recommend The Three Locks for a visit.

We've held two family parties here this year - both surprise 60th birthdays! One for my Dad and one for my Mother In Law. The communication prior to the event has been exception, service on the day also exceptional with Patrice in particular going above and beyond. Questions were always answered promptly and efficiently and queries dealt with quickly. We're having another party next year and will no doubt be using Three Locks Golf Club again. Recentley visited Three Locks for a golf society day, from the organisation prior to the event through to the pint in the bar after a long day on the course our party were treated very well and really enjoyed our day.We received a hearty breakfast to send us out onto the course, buggies were available for some of our not so fit players, course was in a very good condition with some very tricky holes that require a bit of thought.Fully recommend a visit for any society's, we will certainly be returning in the future.

This is not the first time we have been to this golf course / restaurant and the service and frienliness of the staff was of a very high standard as we expected, the course played well and the weather was kind.we will definitely be returning later on this year.5* all round

We booked this venue (Not to be confused with the Three Locks Pub - this is the Golf Club) to host a family event (Sadly, a wake). From my first interactions with their events manager, I knew we'd picked the right place. Hugely professional, and a fantastic attention to detail were just 2 of the key factors for me. We got to the venue earlier than anticipated, and having given them a call before hand - the staff did everything they possibly could to accommodate us. The venue is neat and clean, the staff are absolutely wonderful - I have nothing but lovely things to say. There were golfers in the bar, but this didn't cause any issues - we had the restaurant sectioned off for our guests, and the outside space was really nice too. I also had people saying that the food was of a really good quality, and very tasty.Thank you guys so much for making a really awful day better with your fantastic, thoughtful, service and yummy food. We all felt very welcomed to your venue, and you treated us so, so well. May your business go from strength to strength.I hope to be back under happier circumstances.

I have just visited Three Locks golf this weekend and 21 of us had a fab time.The staff the food & the golf course were great. I have played Three Locks golf course loads of times and always receive a great welcome. It is a great test golf for all standards.if your looking to book a golf day I would look no further than Three Locks.Thanks once again for a great day.

This golf club offers exceptional value for money. We arrived for Coffee @ bacon rolls which were served in time in a hot baguette. !8 golfers enjoyed a good round on a testing course. The chef and team served traditional ham egg & chips which was of good quality. The team were polite and courteous from the point of booking to the time we left. Rico runs a great set up and was accommodating to our change of date and tee times.Thank you very much

Called in for a quick meal late afternoon, looked at the menu,not much choice at all, and nothing other than some sort of chicken salad dish, No chicken breast of any description,so we left and went up the canal to another pub that did have chicken on the menu. We have eaten Sunday lunch a few times at this establishment and have realy enjoyed it ,so we were disappointed not to find what we wanted . We will be back for Sunday lunch though.

I've been to this pub many times before, food is always excellent but staffing needs to be addressed. Although all staff were polite, it was apparent that more are needed. Lovely canal side setting, great for warm barmy days, watching the narrow boats go through the locks. Very relaxing spot.

Lovely setting and surroundings, staff very friendly but, extremely limited menu. Food was good but as we only each liked one thing available wont be going again any time soon

Really nice food, well presented and tasting very good! The people were very helpful and the pub/restaurant has a delightful setting even in the middle of a wet English winter.

Went with a Groupon Sunday lunch voucher. Had struggled to book for weeks as it was always booked up. The venue is nice and modern although there did seem quite a few flies about.The service was pleasant and efficient and got drinks very quickly.The Sunday menu wasn't much choice, beef or pork and some trimmings.We both had beef which was pretty tender and medium cooked although I would have liked a bit rarer for me. Would have been nice to have a choice.Everything came on a plate, no little dishes to help yourself. The veg was cooked ok and seasoned although roast potatoes outside were a little on the rubbery side and not crispy. The Yorkshire though was the worst thing, very dry like cardboard and not very pleasant. I did tell the waitress at the end who said i should have asked for more gravy, presuming to try and rehydrate the Yorkshire. The waitress mention the two chefs seem to be at odds over how the Yorkshire pudding should be. We did not bother with desert, seeking something elsewhere, and there wasn't much choice, lemon tart, ice cream and eaton mess. Looking at the other reviewer who dined the same day they had the same issue with the meal.At a £10.95 price normally, this isn't great value.

Visited the Three Locks Bistro & Venue today for Sunday lunch. We used a Groupon so wasn't expecting the world but left feeling like we'd eaten better at Weatherspoons opposed to a golf club! The potatoes where like bullets, the Yorkshire puddings dry and some burnt and the vegetables looked like they were on the turn. Feeling disappointed with the main we decided to pay for an expensive eton mess which for the first time ever contained no berries apart from the lone strawberry on the top, it also came with a rather odd mint sauce. When I looked round the restaurant it appeared we were getting the same lunch as everyone else priced at £10.95 which Im very glad we did not pay. After leaving my husband also commented on the number of flies, smell of urinal freshener blocks when someone visited the loo and the dead fly on our table which he covered with a napkin so that i didn't see it and get upset. We would not recommend this place.
