Alpha at Oscars in Milton Keynes

As it stands, alpha seems to have vanished. Noone is answering my calls, the rep that sold me the membership is not replying to my messages. I have several hundreds on my account would appreciate anyone reading this to have the courtesy to respond to my emails/calls/texts.

I cannot recommend this place enough! Amazing restaurant! Delicious food, beautiful cocktails, the most polite and attentive staff. We had a Christmas meal from work there and dealing with Peter was a great. He was extremely helpful and caring and the whole experience was an absolute pleasure. Thank you so much.

Food Service and Staff simply first class you won't be disappointed

literally bumped in to this place out of luck might I add food was out of this world we had oysters and scallops for starters and belive it of not we aren't big on sea food. The waitress upselled and highly recommended them and they did not disappoint oysters and tabasco sauce is a must 💯 Then on to mains rack of lamb ribs for me fillet steak for the wife, ribs came with grilled corn brocoli and a pea and mint puree steak came with dauphine potatoes and tenderstem broccoli and the richest peppercorn sauce. I can honestly say all of it was 10/10 would highly recommend and will be joining as members aswell would honestly say its the best bit of food we have had in a long time.

We had thought about going here for a while but some of the advertising suggested you had to be a club member to attend. Fortunately, this is not the case. The food was top notch and the staff attentive, though that was not surprising as we were the only customers! Another couple turned up during our meal but only four covers on a Friday night was perplexing. Especially so, as the food was the best we have had for ages. We could only assume that it is deemed a bit posh by some as the wine list starts at £35-ish. Then there is a 'fine wine' list which starts at £100 and ends at £700! I think a £700 bottle of wine would be wasted on us as the £83 Chateauneuf-de-Pape we plumped for was superb and could hardly be bettered. As for the food, I had mushrooms on toast whilst my wife ate the prosciutto and asparagus - both excellent starters. For mains, I had the special of pork tenderloin and my wife ordered a medium 8-oz fillet. Both were cooked perfectly and the sauces were amazing. Pork is very difficult to get right: balancing moistness, tenderness and making sure it isn't underdone; so finding a good one is always a treat. We were stuffed after that but squeezed in a triple chocolate dessert between us. Lovely stuff and only half the calories than if we had had one each.

Firstly, the service was great. We were greeted by the entrance, asked where we would like to seat and told our waiter’s name before hand. The food was great, from starter to dessert and we did not have to wait long to get our food and drinks. The atmosphere was really peaceful and everyone kept asking if we were okay and if we would like anything else. Overall, it was a good experience.

Exceptional by far the best place to eat and drink in Milton Keynes. Food is outstanding Drinks made with class, always made to feel welcome and looked after. staff are amazing and attentive Alpha has it all with a beautiful menu that never disappoints and a fantastic wine list, roast dinners on Sundays that are five *****

Accepting this is an upmarket venue, I felt it was overpriced. Drinks at the bar had a service charge added on and all they did was hand over two expensive white wines with hardly a smile. The fixed price menu was fine but again, I feel it was too much money for what it was. Maybe the high-end prices had set my expectations. We had a nice time but watch your £ before booking.

Had lunch here on our 50th wedding anniversary. What a wonderful place. The food was excellent but what made it so special was the quality of the service and kindness from Zoe and her staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and, having become members, we look forward to the next time.

50th Birthday What a truly fantastic night I and my guests enjoyed at Alpha at Oscars. I and 49 guests had the upstairs of the restaurant privately booked at no additional cost. Despite the large party the food was fantastic and the service impeccable as ever.

Brilliant! Open to non members at the moment so give it a go and support them! We popped in for a cocktail at the bar and oh my we were just blown away by the service, atmosphere and drinks ended up staying for a few drinks and light bites. We will be back and perhaps as members, given the benefits. Milton Keynes needed this. An upscale venue, but reasonably priced. I felt just as I normally do when I leave a cool venue in London.

Visited on Saturday and had an amazing meal. Started off with a Alpha 75, I would recommend this cocktail if you like Champagne & Gin! Our starters were so delicious and the Oysters were some of the best we had ever had. For main we all had steak either a fillet & Ribeye served with chips and dauphinoise potato which were served beautifully and so tasty. The service throughout the whole meal was expectational, our glasses were continuously topped up and our waitress was so warm and welcoming when we arrived. We will be back again very soon! Thank you to the whole team at Oscars for making our evening very special.

We had such a lovely evening here. Food and service was amazing! Little touches made this restaurant a touch above the rest. We made use of the car service available by the restaurant, which was an added bonus. The driver Charlie and all the staff could not have been more attentive. Highly recommend and will definitely be back

We had an amazing time, our day was magical. We would like to say a very big thank you to the entire Alpha at Oscars team for all the  attention and care and impeccable service that we have received throughout the entire time. The food was delicious and very well presented. All our guest were impressed with it all. 👏  Our bespoke cocktail was a hit with everyone, especially me, as I had 6 of them 😉🥰. As a member I have held business lunches and events for my clients at Alpha at Oscar’s - the service is always first class as is the food. It has just the right atmosphere to meet my clients, talk and also enjoy the food and service. I’ve now been so often the team feel like family - they take time to know me which makes a huge difference. My go to for my business and also social occasions too! Love it

Just brilliant- the service, food and the team are all fabulous . I cannot fault anything. I have been a member for nearly 2 years now and have used Alpha at Oscar’s for both business meetings with clients, events and personal dinners, drinks and big family occasions too. Nothing is too much trouble for the team. Being a coeliac my diet is really important to me. I am always well taken care of and never need to worry about my special dietary requirements or asking any questions - the team fully understand how important this is to me. I can totally recommend becoming a member. This is my go to place for eating in MK.

We booked for the Burns Night event without really knowing what to expect. In fact, the even if way surpassed our expectations. We were welcomed by the friendly door staff, and even though we arrived early our welcome drink was made in front of our eyes - Rob Roy - was delicious. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. We really enjoyed the piper who entertained us beautifully. A thoroughly enjoyable evening - on a school night, too! And we’re already booked in for our Theatre Night event 🎭 in April. A ‘secret’ venue that more people should be aware of! ❤️

I hired the whole restaurant for my retirement event with 90 people attending. The organisation for the event was handled flexibly - I got everything I asked for. The food was terrific and the staff very attentive and helpful in making the event memorable. I thought it was great value and have had lots of positive feedback about the venue from people who attended.

The service is the best in Milton Keynes and the food never disappoints. They make a brilliant Old fashioned and are great at wine recommendations.

The best cocktail bar in Milton Keynes, both for choice and quality. Staff are welcoming and friendly. We have recently moved into the building nearby and it's a reliable and solid choice for any drinks evening with class 🍷🎉🪩

A nice relaxed restaurant in the hub that even has a nice man that opens the door for you. There is a strange membership system in place which means it's not always open to the public. (Weird) The food was excellent. My friend said that 'this was the best breadcrumb I've ever had' and she's not one to make things up. Notable praise indeed. Cannot fault the food; both mains and dessert were delicious and well portioned. Service was quick and staff were attentive and pleasant although the manager dude was very keen to turn my plates into the precise position. Only for me to turn it back again... Good selection of wine and cocktails. Music was jazzy/triphop/hop/hop Recommended.

Once again a place I really shouldn't share as I want to be able to get a table when I wish. However with all the benefits of being a member including double portions (beef and mushroom Wellington) I'm assured of getting a table. The food, service, cocktails and ambiance are not only the best in Milton Keynes. They are on par with, if not better than many fine dining restaurants throughout the country. Keep it up all of the Alpha team.

The welcome by the manager was lovely. The service was amazing, you were made to feel very special. The soup of the day was simply one of the best soups I have had in years! My mains was brilliantly presented and was so delicious that I didn't want to end. A fabulous evening spent at Oscars and can't wait to revisit. Highly recommended

Smiles all round! Ive just had a Sunday roast with my friends hoted by Zoe and fabulous waiting staff. Its refreshing to see genuine old fashioned service dished up in a classy environment - and with sumptuous food that had me full to the brim. I will most definately join the dining club if it means patronising this wonderful eating establishment again,. Thank you to the attentive staff when we had so many allergies and individual food requirements, nothing was too much trouble - five stars well deserved.

Superb Sunday lunch. We were bought to Oscars about two weeks ago by friends and were so impressed with the restaurant, exceptional staff and great food, we signed up. We bought 6 of our family this Sunday, who also loved the quality of food, atmosphere...

I ate at Oscars with my Fiancee and was blown away with how good everything was. We were greeted at the door and immediately made to feel welcome before having our coats taken to the cloakroom. We ordered 3 courses and each meal was superbly presented and tasted exquisite. The rump lamb cooked medium rare was perfect. Service was 10/10 as was the food. I couldn't recommend Oscars more. Editing this review on two additional visits. The second time was for lunch, and I watched the staff bring in food from the local Saintsburys, before taking over an hour to bring out 8 sandwiches, of which 3 were incorrect. The third time was just for cocktails, and it was quite an awkward experience. I've never felt unwanted in an empty restaurant, but Oscars made me feel that way. I went back today to chance a better experience for a cocktail with some friends. As expected, on a Saturday night, there were 0 customers in the restaurant. We were turned away on the basis that it was a membership only dining experience, which seems, at best, a poor business model, for a restaurant with a scarce clientele, and at worst, dubious.

Well, what a fabulous experience. The service was better than most, they catered for every dietary need, even when we were off menu. To the waitress, Vela, that was hand throughout , to recommendation of cocktails and guidance on dishes. We then had the pleasure...

Second visit and once again fantastic food, service and great wine list.

Really well cooked food. The food is all locally sourced and fresh and you can tell. The menu is varied but small so that what they do cook, they cook exceptionally well. The wine selection was also diverse yet there was nothing priced to make your eyes water. The Venison was cooked to perfection and well accompanied by pureed parsnip, beetroot and some perfect broad beans. The wife had the lamb, seared on the outside, tender on the inside. She highly recommends. We had a side of chips which were crispy and tasty, simply incredible! Finally, the winter Eton mess is possibly the best dessert I've had. The added bonus of all this is that's it's an independent place in an area that until recently was totally dominated by chains. Please do support them.

The place is quite, the service is good, the food is great. It's not cheap but not expensive neither so more or less the average in the area. The menu is not huge so it makes easy to decide. One reason why I don't give the five stars is that if you order a glass of wine for 10£, not cheap wine, you are expecting the waitress so serve the wine from the bottle in front of you and show you the bottle, so you are certain that the wine you have ordered is the wine you are drinking.

Wonderful dining experience. Drinks before dinner at the bar, then shared some starters (mushrooms and camembert). I had the seabass which was absolutely wonderful. Others had the lamb and steak - tripled fried chips were delicious! Shared a nice bottle of red wine. Finished off with sticky toffee pudding.... very very nice evening - would definitely recommend and hope to return soon. Very nice to enjoy a tasty meal in the Hub.

There I was doing my usual sweep on the internet for new local eateries and then I found Oscars, an independent British Brasserie in the heart of MK. The wife and I went along for a meal (we booked, good job we did), and were given a great menu of around 8 main courses (always a good sign). The food was fresh and excellent, I spoke to the lady who is the owner and she told me that she was planning regular seasonal updates to the menu. I highly recommend Oscars it really is an oasis amongst a sea of disappointing chain restaurants, we will certainly return as we believe in supporting our local businesses.

Went in for a Sunday lunch, greeted by extremely friendly staff, food was incredible and very competitively priced for the quality. Will definitely be returning soon. I am extremely impressed with this independent restaurant, a nice break from all the chains in Milton Keynes.

We enjoyed a lovely meal on a friday evening. To start with the food tastes amazing. They only use fresh produce and you can certainly taste the difference. Its a simple offering cooked well. The staff are also wonderful too, we spoke to one of the owners and she was rightly proud of their offering. Highly recommended if you don't want to go to the same chain restaurants in milton keynes.

Absolutely lovely food with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The chairs were very comfy and we were not made to feel rushed to leave when we had finished eating. The restaurant is also family run which is nice change for Central Milton Keynes. We will no doubt be back and wish them luck as they are a new restaurant!
