Rich has really turned this pub around. Great food, beer is always good, nice and clean inside.

Great spot for a quiet, relaxed pint and some reasonably priced decent food. Aspalls was fresh and crisp. Richard has done a great job in this place and really got it going again.

This is a crime hotspot. Thieves come in to the car park *every* night, break in to all the vans and steal anything not nailed down. The car park security is inadequate. The thieves are brazen. It's been going on for years and nobody does anything about it. The van in my attached photo was broken in to at 8pm whilst parked 30yds from the entrance right underneath the CCTV cameras. It is NOT SAFE here. I enjoyed everything else about the pub. The food was good though my pizza base was burnt to the point it had a bitter taste. And the staff were friendly. I just can't come back because of the car park issue.

Held a suprise birthday party here. The staff were extremely accommodating and couldn’t have been any more helpful, from the planning and organising to the actual day - helping decorate and being so attentive. We were a party of approx 50 from ages 5 up to 85. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food buffet of sandwiches and chips were plentiful and delicious. Very fresh produce used. And a good choice of options with vegans and vegetarians also catered for. The pub itself is beautifully decorated, clean and inviting. There was plenty of space for us all and we had a whole area of the pub, including the back garden all to ourselves. I cannot recommend this pub highly enough.

From the booking, to the service, to the food, everything was perfect. We were accommodated in a quiet corner as requested. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, all diets being catered for, and our server took food intolerances seriously. We ended up staying for over four hours, as it was a family gathering, and we didn't feel rushed at all, just very welcome. So thank you for a great day!

Lovely pub the food was very nice but I thought the menu a bit limited the staff were very friendly and polite the service was very good I will go back a very afternoon was had by all.

When paying bill look.out for added amount called Wet we were charged over £17 on 4 diet cokes

The food was very nice and the staff very pleasant. On the bill was a wet tax of £17 for 5 of us which we were told is a sugar tax on Cokez We had diet cokes and a sparkling water. The staff were unsure and as we had no internet was unable to check it out so reluctantly paid it However we have now discovered it is not chargeable on diet cokes so naturally feel somewhat disappointed.

Chef Antonio prepared a fantastic spread. The steak was delicious and calami perfect. Thanks for an excellent meal. Service was great. I'll definitely return.

We visited this pub with our young children. Kids are noisy and want to run around. Let them have fun, right. But, no..... We had a few old women start abusing us at the table due to the kids making noise. I couldn't believe it. Not most kid friendly pub.

Under-staffing caused slow & poor service. Not the fault of the staff trying to do their best. Fires weren’t on so it was quite cold Sunday lunch was tasty but could have been warmer

We visited this establishment on new years eve 2024. We were visiting the UK and staying at a hotel very close by. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the pub had a warm cosy feel to it. The menu was 3 course and was quite limited for me as a vegiterian. There were actually only 2 dishes I could choose from. Now I'm not going to lie, despite being well presented the food was terrible! All the vegetables had clearly been cooked hours before we arrived and then reheated making then very soggy and unpleasant. The children missed half of there starters and despite ordering a cheese board for desert , they could not provide me with a cheese knifes. Despite the bad food we had a lovely evening and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Great atmosphere, friendly and polite staff.. bad good !

I was at a 60th party so I didn't pay for any food or drink. However the staff were friendly and atmosphere was good.

Attractive and well-situated pub with an. extensive menu and a wide range of beers including hand-pulled real ales it is very popular attracting customers from Chigwell, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill etc

We went there for Christmas dinner, having prepaid for a three course meal at 2:30 pm. We finally left at 5:30 pm , we could not wait for our third course. They just did not have enough waiting staff. Apparantly there were sufficient chefs in the kitchen, so I imagine that the food was put on the pass , when it was eventually served all the meals that were supposed to be hot were cold Nothing like cold turkey dinner on Christmas Day . We left the waiter a generous tip as we felt sorry for him, the long wait was not his fault , but the management of the restaurant

We visited the Three Jolly Wheelers on Boxing Day. We had a family lunch there and we had the best time. All of the staff were delightful and the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous and the price was very reasonable too. Thank you to all of the team for their warmth and patience! Fully recommend and can’t wait to hear back again soon!

A lovely pub with a brilliant attitude to dogs. All the staff were lovely and the food was too. It says on their website that they are dog friendly, and I can confirm they absolutely are. Lovely decor and a decent menu. There were good vegetarian options. We all had a super meal. I booked online 40mins before we got there, and I would recommend you do that. There is free parking but you have to register your car when you arrive to ensure you don't get a ticket. It's disabled friendly with ramps and slopes inside. I think a mobility scooter would struggle with some of the turns, but a wheelchair will have no issues. Disabled toilets were clean and well decorated. No radar key is required. I would be very happy to return.

We had Christmas lunch and it was wonderful. The food was exceptional. Service was outstanding. Thank you to all the staff.

As part of a business trip, this is a good address. I particularly like the pub atmosphere, coupled with the Christmas time there. This makes for great evenings after work.

Great food The waitress was incredibly friendly - I forgot her name forgive me but she was very patient and attentive! She even recommended that next time I use the app for a discount (couldn't get it on the day though gutted!) I got the burger with brisket and bacon- MUST HAVE! For context I am 120kg plus with a belly and that finished me! Will definitely go again!

Sunday Roast was really tasty and it was 6pm. Service was great. Atmosphere happy and cosy , can’t complain one bit. Well done Jolly Wheelers .

Really lovely place very friendly.

Food was well presented and tasty. But we ordered the trio of meats. One good slice of turkey covering a 0.5 inch x 1.5 inch (very small) piece of beef and a 1 inch cube(very small)of belly pork. Plus all food on both plates was barely warm including the two pots of gravy.

We came to celebrate a birthday. We all ordered different types of roasts. 2x turkey, 1x mixed and 1x vegetarian. The food was really delicious but it was a shame that it wasn't piping hot or even hot. I would say it was warm. I thought the gravy would be hot but that too was warm. A flat white was very milky and warm too. Service was good.

Very nice pub lunch. We booked a table for two for Saturday lunchtime, and it was just as well because the place filled up pretty quickly after we arrived. The staff were polite and attentive and didn't rush us when we were taking our time perusing the menu. We ordered the gammon and mac and cheese for mains and had the banoffee choux bun and chocolate fudge brownie for dessert. We both had a pint of beer each. The bill came to just under £60. They have free parking on site.

I am sure we have been to the Wheelers in the past, and had an ok experience, but today, for me this was a significant disappointment in the quality of the main meal served to me and the attitude of the staff when they were told. I had the mushroom starter, which was good, and then I had ordered the steak and ale pie. I have eaten many many pies like this in many locations, and this was probably the most disappointing. It looked great, and unlike the accompanying vegetables, it was welcomingly hot. However under the crust, the sad truth was that I had been served a mix of fairly tough steak and gristle/fat, the latter constituting about 40% of the contents. I ate what I could, because it would have been pointless asking for it to be replaced in a realistic timeframe (a slow night with sluggish service) timeframe, so I ate the good bits and put the fat/gristle on the side, and mentioned this to the server who said she would tell the kitchen staff. When our bill came we were asked to pay the full price for this substandard offering. Despite my wife's discouragement (she is still not talking to me) I went to the counter and explained that there was a problem with my dish, and two of my companions had also had to send food back because of inadequate temperatures. The response was that there were only four pieces of gristle that 'this is how the meat comes' ! This is probably true, and in a Corporate pub/restaurant run by Mitchell and Butler, the staff have to take what they are given. But the product should be of merchandisable quality, and this fell well below a normal person's standard. Shame on you Mitchell and Butler for expecting your staff to have to deal with such poor quality ingredients. It took some gentle persuasion to delete the pie from the bill. I was initially offered £5 discount, which was rapidly raised to no charge. I think this was the right thing to do but I should not have been put in the position of having to ask for the item to be removed from the bill. I can only imagine that Mitchell and Butler have trained the staff well in the mantra that the customer is seldom right.

Went here today with my family for a quick bit to eat not expecting much. To my surprise every part of the meal was seamless and really enjoyable. We got served by this young man called Noah who was very helpful in recommending some of the food at the restaurant. I had the steak and I thought overall the food was world class and served very nicely. Service and atmosphere overall was amazing and best neighbouring pubs.

Came to visit this place with my family and had an amazing time. The food was delicious and the service from our cheerful waiter Charlie was exceptional. Highly recommend

My second time visiting The Three Jolly wheelers. Both times I've been met with amazing service by the young waitress Liv, who was very attentive and kind. My son has his fair share of severe allergies and Liv was very understanding when showing us options on the menu suitable for him. Food was cooked by Tony Chef. Tony Chef cooked it to perfection. Thank you Tony Chef. I couldn't recommend this little gem of a place more. Will be telling friends and family.

This pub was a disappointing experience. Despite being relatively empty, the service was incredibly slow. It took over an hour to get some food to our table after arriving. Once we finally did get some food, we had to eat it while the tables surrounding us were dirty and cluttered with remnants of the meals from previous customers who had long left. It was extremely off-putting and no one seemed bothered to clear them. The staff seemed to be MIA, and options on the menu were unavailable without being clearly indicated until you tried to order them. While the food was decent when it finally arrived, the overall experience was far from enjoyable. I would not recommend this pub unless you have a lot of time to kill and are willing to overlook poor service and unpleasant dining conditions.

I have been coming here for years but yesterday had to be the worst service I have ever had, we were left ages in-between courses, we had to ask for the food, the food was nice but the service was very poor.

The Sunday roast is excellent apart from the parsnips which were solid. What ruined our experience is the lack of staff. Two waiting staff for the whole restaurant is not enough. We had to wait for our drink order to be taken, the vegetables did not get served with the roast and I had to go to the bar to order a second drink. We gave up on ordering desserts. Not having enough staff is unfair on the staff you do have nor does it make for a pleasant dining experience.

Been several times and the service. food and relaxed atmosphere where you can spend quality time with your companions without having to shout. Want to recognise Brendon’s customer service and the effort he goes to make your visit seamless. Noah also thank you.

I really like the dining room ambiance. It is large enough to be private but small enough to be cosy. The Dark Star bitter was excellent, and a first for both of us. The deep friend brie bites were lovely but the ginger and apricot jam that accompanied them was wonderful. I am a vegetarian. I was pleased to see a very nicely produced menu with a mouthwatering selection. I have never eaten a fish cake that I have enjoyed, but the fish cakes I ate there were sensational and were perfectly wedded to the hollandaise sauce. For pudding I had the banoffee choux bun with was absolutely superb!! I can’t remember when I last enjoyed a pudding as much. In fact the meal, although a casual get together felt very special indeed. My friend also had the brie bites, a chicken curry that I believe was of That origin followed by the Creme Brûlée. His opinion of the meal matched mine. I have a celebration coming soon, I am pretty sure I’ll be booking with you.

A last minute choice we visited TJW and it wasn't very busy mid afternoon. We were blown away by the cheery attentive service from Charlie. The food arrived very quickly and the portions were enormous. Thanks to Tony and Hassan in the kitchen it was all delicious. We'll be going back!

Honestly don’t like leaving poor reviews but I was really disappointed with my first visit to this venue. Sat down and was told someone would be with us ‘once we had time to settle’ A member of staff came over after quite some time and did apologise for the wait.. which was perfectly fine. Ordered food, this came to us in a reasonable time frame and took the opportunity to order some more drinks which were also brought over sharpish.. but then that was it. Myself and my partner finished our meal and contemplated dessert.. I stacked our plates etc. all together to make it clear we were done. In the time, as we sat there, the same member of staff, who had earlier apologised for the delay, had cleared and reset 3 tables, given the bill to another table and then started to take an order from new customers that had just arrived, before I decided to just leave and pay at the bar. No more money was spent and in one of the very few times in my life, no tip was left because I was incredibly annoyed. I could have understood if the pub had been bursting with customers but while we waited, there were a total of 4 tables in use. Very disappointing!
