Came for dinner with my family. Great food and service. Thanks Noah. We will definitely be coming back again for a Sunday roast.

I am sure we have been to the Wheelers in the past, and had an ok experience, but today, for me this was a significant disappointment in the quality of the main meal served to me and the attitude of the staff when they were told. I had the mushroom starter, which was good, and then I had ordered the steak and ale pie. I have eaten many many pies like this in many locations, and this was probably the most disappointing. It looked great, and unlike the accompanying vegetables, it was welcomingly hot. However under the crust, the sad truth was that I had been served a mix of fairly tough steak and gristle/fat, the latter constituting about 40% of the contents. I ate what I could, because it would have been pointless asking for it to be replaced in a realistic timeframe (a slow night with sluggish service) timeframe, so I ate the good bits and put the fat/gristle on the side, and mentioned this to the server who said she would tell the kitchen staff. When our bill came we were asked to pay the full price for this substandard offering. Despite my wife's discouragement (she is still not talking to me) I went to the counter and explained that there was a problem with my dish, and two of my companions had also had to send food back because of inadequate temperatures. The response was that there were only four pieces of gristle that 'this is how the meat comes' ! This is probably true, and in a Corporate pub/restaurant run by Mitchell and Butler, the staff have to take what they are given. But the product should be of merchandisable quality, and this fell well below a normal person's standard. Shame on you Mitchell and Butler for expecting your staff to have to deal with such poor quality ingredients. It took some gentle persuasion to delete the pie from the bill. I was initially offered £5 discount, which was rapidly raised to no charge. I think this was the right thing to do but I should not have been put in the position of having to ask for the item to be removed from the bill. I can only imagine that Mitchell and Butler have trained the staff well in the mantra that the customer is seldom right.

I really like the dining room ambiance. It is large enough to be private but small enough to be cosy. The Dark Star bitter was excellent, and a first for both of us. The deep friend brie bites were lovely but the ginger and apricot jam that accompanied them was wonderful. I am a vegetarian. I was pleased to see a very nicely produced menu with a mouthwatering selection. I have never eaten a fish cake that I have enjoyed, but the fish cakes I ate there were sensational and were perfectly wedded to the hollandaise sauce. For pudding I had the banoffee choux bun with was absolutely superb!! I can’t remember when I last enjoyed a pudding as much. In fact the meal, although a casual get together felt very special indeed. My friend also had the brie bites, a chicken curry that I believe was of That origin followed by the Creme Brûlée. His opinion of the meal matched mine. I have a celebration coming soon, I am pretty sure I’ll be booking with you.

A last minute choice we visited TJW and it wasn't very busy mid afternoon. We were blown away by the cheery attentive service from Charlie. The food arrived very quickly and the portions were enormous. Thanks to Tony and Hassan in the kitchen it was all delicious. We'll be going back!

Honestly don’t like leaving poor reviews but I was really disappointed with my first visit to this venue. Sat down and was told someone would be with us ‘once we had time to settle’ A member of staff came over after quite some time and did apologise for the wait.. which was perfectly fine. Ordered food, this came to us in a reasonable time frame and took the opportunity to order some more drinks which were also brought over sharpish.. but then that was it. Myself and my partner finished our meal and contemplated dessert.. I stacked our plates etc. all together to make it clear we were done. In the time, as we sat there, the same member of staff, who had earlier apologised for the delay, had cleared and reset 3 tables, given the bill to another table and then started to take an order from new customers that had just arrived, before I decided to just leave and pay at the bar. No more money was spent and in one of the very few times in my life, no tip was left because I was incredibly annoyed. I could have understood if the pub had been bursting with customers but while we waited, there were a total of 4 tables in use. Very disappointing!

I only visited here for a business meeting, but the food was amazing and the staff were welcoming and kind.

My husband & I was passing so popped in for lunch. We were greeted straight away & sat down. Our server Maisie was wonderful so was Noah. Attentive & cheerful. The food was plentiful & very nice. Would definitely recommend

Just had a lovely meal here with my friend. Our food was lovely and our waiter Brendan was really attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Came to meet some friends for a few drinks, we had the 3 - £10 bar snack menu as well, good selection and great value for money!

This was the worst meal I have had out in a long while. Food was over cooked, tasted like yesterdays heated up. Service not good coffee luke warm icecream took so long to be brought to the table it was melting quite a lot, Such a shame as we were treating friends so very embarresing

Started well but soon faded ,got plenty of attention when arrived but as soon as more people came the service slowed to a halt, had to start chasing the staff

Sat down at a table after being advised to sit anywhere we like. We were sitting for 10 minutes. Got our own menus and were told someone would be over to take our order. Ten minutes later we were still waiting. I got up to look for someone to take our order, as my children were getting hungry, but I couldn't find anyone. So after twenty minutes of being ignored, we left. There were only about twenty people in there, so it wasn't busy at all.

I have spent many happy times sitting supping a nice beer here and wish I could give it higher ratings (I used to). To be fair I think the new management team are improving things, but it's now lost the atmosphere it used to have and the food isn't that good. Let alone they don't have much of a range of ales. Overall verdict, I'd go back, but am more likely to look for somewhere else. And finally, because I often do, something that makes me smile. This is not about the place I'm reviewing! There are a few criminals in my town that keep stealing wheels from parked police cars. The cops are working tirelessly to catch the suspects. How I Mark I may mark differently to some other reviewers, some might see this as harsh, others may see it as fair. But here's how I look at it: 5 star - WOW. I want to go back and look forward to doing so. They delivered everything expected and more. The 'more; is normally about the service or attitude of the staff. 4 star - GOOD. They delivered everything I wanted and a bit more. I recommend them and would go back. 3 star - OK. They delivered what I expected, I would go back if I needed to, although don't currently plan on doing so. 2 star - Not very good. I didn't get what I expected and the service wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. I might get dragged back here, although will always try to avoid it 1 star - This was rubbish. Don't go there, I certainly won't go there again. I didn't get what I wanted, the people were unhelpful and I didn't enjoy it in any way.

Had a lovely relaxed dining experience with 8 colleagues , to celebrate a change of job. Everyone was very impressed with the quality of the food . Service was very good, nothing was too much trouble. Please thank Noah. We will certainly return as it was a lovely evening

We had breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning which was lovely, all served by Manager Richard. We also had a table of 18 for dinner on Saturday evening. We had preordeded our meals due to how many of us in the party. Again Richard was the perfect host. Along with his team, Richard delivered a seamless service, nothing was too much trouble, the food all came out hot and when it came to mains the lovely staff delivered all the meals using everyone's names. Working for a major International Airline I understand the difference that little touches make to customers. Richard is an excellent manager, nothing was any trouble and he is an absolute asset to the Three Jolly Wheelers. Thank you Richard to you and your team for a wonderful experience.

The staff were very friendly and efficient the decor was pleasant. Unfortunately I though the meal was lacking for the price, I ordered turkey and I’m sure it was pre-packed sliced turkey. The roast potatoes were cooked well enough but were barely roasted new potatoes, not very traditional roasties . some carrots were very hard and not cooked properly my elderly father couldn’t eat it and the piece of pork crackling was inedible as it was so hard. The side of veg and Yorkshire pudding was very nice. I don’t think the quality matches the price. We were the only people in the dining room, but it was 16.15 and sunny outside. EDIT Since manager has tried to say it’s only because of the voucher issue. I wasn’t very pleased the voucher for £10 off your next meal if you sign up was not accepted, but I understand I didn’t click in and read the small print in the terms and conditions. I admit I didn’t comment at all at the time as I had eaten everything except the hard carrot and crackling and didn’t want to spoil the meal out with family. My sister who spoke to the server will always say a meal is really nice as she is a very kind person, and perhaps she enjoyed it more than I did but I firmly believe this is a honest review of my meal.

What a lovely pub. Visiting family and spent an enjoyable evening here. Drinks only. Charlie behind the bar was very bright and cheerful and we were told about a gin event the following night. Came back for it. Brilliant. London Essence were there helping pair up tonics with different gins. Free with a voluntary donation to a local hospice. What a fab idea! Really nice staff and lovely environment. I’ll be back.

Lovely place in Chigwell for a Sunday Roast / Brunch. Meals are plentiful, service is top notch. Pity that the cappuccino machine kaputz on the day we ate there. Would've been great to have some coffee with our puddings.

Booked a table online for 9.00pm which the online booking system gave me the time. Turned up at 8.45 only to be told by staff that you can’t book at that time. Then was totally ignored by very unprofessional staff. So decided to leave. If you can’t book a table for that time then you really need to sort out your booking system. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.

This venue has gone through some changes and it has to be said the service had dropped considerably. It is now run by Richard and Jamie and everything has improved by a country mile. These two work incredibly hard and it’s paying off to the customer Getting back to where it should be. It’s a big family pub and great to see it in the ascendancy again The pizza’s are very good as was the lasagne. good range of ales also.

The dinner was excellent, the service was very attentive. The restaurant itself is large, but still very cozy.

We held our mums funeral gathering at The Three Jolly Wheelers - she loved to come here for Sunday lunch. Rather than a buffet for the funeral party, we decided to go for a seated roast dinner for 80+ people. The food was amazing, the staff were incredible and it all went towards making the day that bit easier to bear. A particular thank you to Jamie & Richard, who were super helpful during the run up and on the day.

We held my nan’s wake here (19/04), the staff were nothing but helpful and welcoming and it made for a wonderful send off. Everyone got a sit down roast - delicious - with plenty to spare. I had the veggie option with the nut type roast, was so delicious. Compliments to the chef! Thank you

We had a great time and experience here. Friendly and welcoming from the start. Food was good quality with many vegetarian options, I had the roast with lots of different vegetables accompanying it, potatoes were fantastic! Lots of little nooks in the pub for almost private spaces for a little family or group. Staff excellent. Car park v helpful just remember to register vehicle on the screen as you enter. Will be coming back!

We had a lovely table tucked away in the pub, ideal for my family including dog. We all had Sunday roast dinners and the food was incredible- full compliments to the chefs on duty on Easter Sunday! Overall a good service and attentive staff, will definitely be returning.

First and most important be aware of the car park...you think you are a customer to the pub so free parking and you end up with a 100 pounds penalty. The waiter doesn't inform you you have to register your car ,especially if you go there first time better park on the road then in the pub car park..that for sure will be free and cheaper. It ended being a very expensive place with mediocre food and poor communication. I will never go there

I don't like leaving poor reviews but have to on this occasion. It's a regular, trusted haunt for us when in the area but service off the scale. Clearly very understaffed on the day, one waitress who performing a cabaret act and a young helper. Order of drinks and meals fine and served timely. That was it. Sat for an hour with our empty plates in front of us. Watched service continuing for other guests. No time for desserts or coffees. We had to leave for other appointments and I was late. The knock-on effect was embarrassing. Can't chance coming back again. Such a pity

Strongly advise going here if your wallet won't close. £6.40 for a small glass of cranberry juice and a packet of crisps. Nothing wrong with the service but there's steep and there's STEEP. Must be the towie lot driving up the prices. Lucky I won on the masheen to pay for it. 🤣

What an absolute find, great good, excellent service and fabulous setting

Went for Sunday lunch with family. Starter of calimari was awful, never had calimari like that before...it was just little bits of batter! Sunday roast came up practically cold, had to ask for it to be warmed up. The potatoes were disgusting, I'm sure they were tinned! All in all, not a pleasant experience whatsover. We won't be coming back

when i entered the scenic three jolly wheelers i was welcomed by the lovely and gorgeous liv howe, i then was treated absolutely splendid by liv. the food was so quick, brought to our table by the humble liv and the iced coffee was to die for. thank you to the team and especially liv you’ve got a very good staff member in your mits keep her around.

We were part of a large group of parents and children. The manager and staff were accommodating to our large group, and the kitchen did a great job at getting our good out in good time. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the sunday roast was exceptional.

Have been a regular visitor here for some time but never tried the Sunday Roast before. It was absolutely superb ! Well presented, large portions and a great selection of vegetables with excellent service. I can't think of anywhere locally that can match it.....

Really enjoyed the food. Had a great starter and then a fantastic Turkey dinner. Really tasteful and great portions in the plate. Staff were all very friendly and the waitress who served us was really helpful.

Went in and had a lovely roast, Richard has built a lovely atmosphere, the turnaround in such a short period of time is unbelievable. Definitely would recommend.

I used to love eating at this pub but sadly it has really declined. The staff are lovely and do their best, but 3 of us waited a long time for lunch to be served today and for only two meals to appear, I was advised that my pizza would be a couple of minutes as the oven wasn’t hot enough….sadly when pizza appeared almost 10 mins later (and my fellow guests halfway through eating) it was undercooked and inedible. The staff were quick to offer a replacement and didn’t charge but why would you return based on this experience? Such a shame but even with offers you need food to be edible.

What a lovely unexpected surprise me and my kids decided to go out for a meal and have a Sunday lunch and honestly it was amazing . Food was spectacular along with the amazing staff and incredible atmosphere in particular a server by the name of Liv if I’m correct was outstanding with us , service was not only quick but acceded my expectations will definitely be coming back .

I went to this pub the other day with a group of friends. Our server was a lovely young lady named Liv, she made the experience very welcoming and was very polite. We ordered the hunter's chicken and the fish and chips and it was some of the best food I've ever tasted. The seating by the fire provided a cozy and warm welcome.
