We enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast... Highly recommended!

Ordered food and drinks at the same time, 40 minutes for the food to arrive and still no drinks. Then was asked if I was sure I'd ordered drinks, then was told their busy. That's not an answer for poor service. Will not be going back, food wasn't very exciting and price was high.

This is a large historic country pub with lots of tables and an outside seating area , five real ales and several lagers on tap, really lovely food , perfectly cooked and hot! Very professional and friendly service, we were not rushed at all, but felt very welcomed by all the staff , Steve the manager went out of his way to help us and make us feel welcome, as did all the staff today. Thoroughly recommend The Three Horseshoes in Norton

Lovely cozy place with lots parking. Wide variety menu of pub grub and portions are just right. The lamb shank gravy was a tad sweet but the lamb was tasty.

The hospitality we received from Alex and Steve is unmatched, made everyone in our party feel so valued, so much respect for them both, absolutely fantastic service

It’s a shame because it’s a really nice pub, lovely atmosphere but the food was really disappointing. I had the hunters chicken which was in a strange yellow sauce, the bacon was undercooked and the chips were cold. Obviously microwaved because it was served very quickly. Won’t go back.

I've recently been here for a dinner with friends. A lovely building from outside, but not fit it's charm inside. I choose what I thought was the beef and venison pie.. well I thought it was.. Couldn't taste any venison! Why suggest it when not in . I did think also meals came rather fast.. (which means everything is pre cooked or ready), presentation was okay. Ready done mash potato not good standers! For future reference better pudding list too !

Food Luke warm and miniscule portion. Menu not as on Internet. Staff were fine but it was very busy did not want to make a scene.

Five stars all the way. Stephen was very attentive and made sure our food arrived for us just as we walked in the building. We 'phoned and and ordered in advance to try to make things easier, but everyone we met worked so hard at giving first class customer service - thank you guys!

Have a drink in here fairly often. The pub area is really nice - good chilled atmosphere. Food was good. Really reasonable (particularly with the 40% off food offer that was on). Would recommend.

The food is absolutely delicious. Eaten in here twice since the new owners took over and the food has been spot on both times. Staff are always friendly even when you pop in for the odd drink. Would definitely recommend.

Sunday roast vegetables were overcooked. Apple crumble wasn't great.

Unfortunately I ordered the Sunday roast beef wich wS cremated like everything else on the plate and was certainly not freshly cooked on the day. More like a few days old. The young girls waiting on we're realt polite but the chap who took my payment apologies knocked a pint of beer off my bill and charged me for my beef ? Strange when you think there's was nothing wrong with my pint and shouldn't really have charged me for the awful meal. It's certainly not a issue about the money as I'm a very generous person and usually a very good tipper. Sorry if this sounds like a moaning gripe but my food really wasn't of a standard I would want again .

Xmas dinner for a party was dismal. Staff were great but food was luke warm and tasteless. Three hotshots used to be a good place to eat.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere, and genuinely dog-friendly too, which is definitely a bonus. The staff were all friendly, helpful and attentive.

My friend thought she had booked a table but hadn’t - the kind staff member found us a table even though they were full - the service and food was excellent I highly recommend the Three Horses

We had a absolutely awful meal yesterday, the food was not hot the starters dreadful the main courses was bearable. The waiting times between courses were at least 30 mimutes we had to clear the main course ourselves, we won't be going back.

A group of 10 of us had pre-booked a table for our end of year gathering. I was hoping for the fixed price Christmas menu but no one told me this had to be pre-ordered. The problem started with part of our reserved table being allocated to someone else. Fortunately they moved without argument. Because the Christmas menu was not available to us, we were told we had to choose from the main menu, with the items in green boxes being Christmas ones. None of these were particularly appealing. So we went to the bar to order from the main menu - five items were unavailable - the steak, the sea bass, the fish and chips, the bang bang broccoli and steak and venison pie. When we commented this was unacceptable, the manager told us it was because it was Christmas and everyone was ordering a lot of food! What a surprise. No gluten free options. The food arrived and two portions were inedible. Because both of the fish options were unavailable, I was offered scampi and chips which was kind but hardly scintillating. To be fair the friends who ordered the belly pork were happy with their food. After protest the manager agreed to refund the two inedible portions. Bearing in mind this was meant to be our year end dine out together, it really was one step off disastrous. Needless too say, we will not be repeating the experience in future.

Great service with consistently fantastic food. Atmosphere is really good. The waitress who served us yesterday for my wife’s birthday was excellent. Highly recommend.

Food was disappointing, hunters chicken was just a pile of mess and not warm dish. There was 9 of us, and not to sounds horrible, but everyone this morning has a bad belly !!! The place is nice, think just for a drink it's spot on, but if you want to eat i would avoid. Spent over £200+ just on food and it was like that. Wish I got photos of it now !

I never write reviews but on this occasion felt I had to. I want to thank the amazing staff who helped make my mums celebration of life happen. Every time I called with a question I spoke to a different person and each one was so accommodating, polite, supportive and extremely helpful. Their honesty and sense of pride they took in their work was truly something you don’t see much of nowadays. And the food was a lovely surprise and broke away from your typical buffet food. Cannot recommend it enough! Thank you x

First time we’ve been to meet friends as it’s halfway between everybody. Lovely pub. Load parking really nice inside great beer great food can’t very very impressed. Seemed very popular so suggest having to book a table, would be recommended.

Our meal was nice, but not quite what we thought it would be. The cappuccino was very weak and had a different flavour. It was good to try somewhere new.

I have given a low score because the food was terrible on Friday 22nd Nov. I was really looking forward to trying their Christmas menu but the lamb shank shepherds pie with veg was just awful. I assume the veg was meant to be honey roasted but was stone cold and all rock hard and had a very odd flavour. I didn’t eat any of the veg yet nobody so much as asked if it was okay. The lamb shank pie was average at best, the mash on top was minimal and had clearly been microwaved to within an inch of its life. This was a birthday meal for a best friend of mine and was very disappointing. The bar staff are lovely though and the pub looks very cosy and festive with the decorations all up, just the food is a huge let down sadly.

Just left after a delightful dinner of the new menu the ravioli dish was beautiful 😍 and the vegan dessert was incredible amazing that they tailor for both loved the new menu. I think the place is so much better in hand of the new owners. Lovely pub with good grub and service 😀 👌 my little ones loved it too!

First time having a Sun roast here for a while and was great. Delicious, plus extra potatoes, veg and yorkie if we wanted. Worth the money, and cheaper than other places. Excellent service by Chloe and Mike. Will be back 😁

We came for a Saturday night meal. There were only 2 tables eating and they put us next to each other. We had rib eye steak which was very tasty and large. Lamb shank, venison pie and gammon . All meals were great quality and large portions. The coffee after, unfortunately was awful . Overall the pub was well decorated and spacious. The outside area looked wonderful with night lighting. It was just very quiet for a Saturday night. Food was good and very reasonably priced.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Food was excellent and we enjoyed the unlimited extras of the roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Very attentive service from Chloe & Mike. Definitely recommend and we would go back again.

We were the Only couple eating this evening it seems and the staff were keen to stop serving at 7.30pm . Beef rib wasn’t great, cabbage was completely cold and the potato was stodgy, probably from the lunchtime run. The best thing was the £30 bottle of wine. Waitress was very nice but no one checked if our meal was ok and I wouldn’t recommend eating here. I feel I’ve wasted my money which is a shame

My son and daughter in law had their wedding reception here. I’m flawed how a busy pub can serve 50 extra guests. Each and every guest said how gorgeous the food was. The quality, size and timing was all on point. I could not fault a single thing making the day so perfect .

I decided to take my family out for my birthday as a treat and we decided to choose the three horseshoes in Norton, Hertfordshire. I booked a 12 noon table for four people as I thought if we were having roast lunches early in service they should be freshly cooked. I was very wrong about that sadly to say. The roast beef was cut wrongly along the grain and was grey and over cooked making it very dry. The roast potatoes had been reheated from the day before and were not fresh, because they were dry and hollow inside. The roast parsnips were also reheated from the day before and they were dry and inedible. The Yorkshire pudding was also dry. The carrots were shrivelled. The broccoli wasn’t any better. The gravy was very salty and very dark and also unpalatable. On the whole, the meal was very, very disappointing. 2/10 Disappointing very sorry.

Best Menu i have come across in some time. Really good vegan and veggie options and even a wide selection of doggy dinners for our furry friends. Well worth a visit. Has all the good points of a village pub but with the capability and size of a chain. Wonderful experience, will come back to try everything.

Beautiful place amazing surroundings and exceptional food A+++

I ordered 3 meats and could only eat 2 as the beef was tough and inedible. The crackling was buried under all the vegetables making it no longer cracking. My meal has been warmed up and the whole meal was very disappointing.

This was our first meal out at the three horseshoes and we were so impressed. The place itself is cosy and inviting with plenty of space to sit we liked that the tables were not on top of one another. The service was 5 star the staff were helpful, polite and we had a good laugh too! The food was very good, we weren't left waiting and the whole meal was relaxing and enjoyable. We had a walk around the garden which we didn't realise was so big so we will definitely be back on a warmer day to sit out there. The parking was very easy and we noticed a bigger car park out the back. On the whole a lovely place.. thank you!

The Sunday roast here is delightful and among the best in the area. Plus, it’s very welcoming for dogs, making it an excellent spot for pet owners!

There were 10 of us and a dog in our party celebrating a joint family birthday. The indoor table was ready for us when we arrived. No problem in allowing our dog to remain with us. The waiter was super efficient with an incredible memory as he took our drinks order and then our meal order without the need to make any notes. All the drinks and meals were correctly delivered to the correct person. Our meals were delivered quickly and at the same time. How unusual to not have to wait for one or more meals. The waiter was very courteous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The size of the various meals was great and the overall cost was very reasonable. Highly recommended. We will have to go back again.

Went on Saturday evening for a meal .Nice looking pub very friendly staff .no table service which is strange nowadays as most of my party are elderly. Food ok nothing special has steak and venison pie with veg gravy was a thick stodge veg over cooked felt like it had been microwaved and put on a plate .so ok but be aware it's full of dogs lying on large beds dotted around so if your elderly or not good with eyesight look out .

Good selection of real ales which are really well kept, tasting fresh and cool. Nice atmosphere. Haven't eaten there yet,k but food looks good.

Thought would try out as listed as dog friendly, was surprised on seating that dog friendly area is carpeted but rest of eating area seemed to be hard floor, my dog was very happy to lie on carpet though. Initially disappointed as we both wanted the Steak Sandwich but advised no steak available . Placed order for Hunters Chicken and Gammon and egg. Chicken dish was so hot when served the cheese was bubbling and very runny, too hot to eat for 10 minutes , unfortunately the peas arrived stone cold and hard. No check from staff so had to attract attention of waitress to ask for a fresh portion. Both meals came with 2 small onion rings and chips were good. We found the staff friendly and the garden very nice.

Have visited this pub for Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Lunch and can recommend as always first class. Tastes just like home made, all rhe little touches are superb..

This is our 3rd Sunday Roast. Never disappointed. Lovely roasts potatoes and delicious yorkshire puddings.. Dogs allowed is a bonus too!

Treated my Auntie to lunch. We had chilli jam sausages, chicken wings and hog sausage roll for starters which were delightful, tasted amazing! We had sandwich’s for lunch, fish ginger goujons & steak with caramelised onion, and wow wasn’t disappointed. Totally stuffed but well worth the visit! We shall return! Very happy customers

Been here twice, once for tea, it was surprisingly good for £15. Also for mums birthday, the hunters chicken was nice, the starter of squid and prawns, was disappointing. Everyone else enjoyed their meals

Popped in for a family Sunday Roast meal. Food was great and service by Emily was superb as there was quite alot of us and drinks kept flowing nicely. Roast was great and desserts were the finish touch. Thank you so much for everything. We will be back soon.

Had a table for four tonight all the food was absolutely amazing but the service was terrible, our drinks were left sitting on the bar so ended up going to get them our selves , then the second round of drinks got forgotten about so had to go to the bar again and get them , then when asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu we said yes and then saw our waitress get her bag and leave , it wasn’t busy and there were alway 4/5 staff members standing at the bar chatting so no excuse really just bad service from the waitress It’s a lovely pub and is very clean but unfortunately we were sat next to a table with 4 children all with phones blasting out noise from their games they were playing and the parents were totally oblivious to how loud the 4 phones were , so overall atmosphere tonight was awful too .

We enjoyed a very nice lunch with friends. Excellent cheese soufflés followed by artichoke salad with duck and a superb beef and ale pie. However, the service was wanting. 3 of the 4 soufflés were delivered followed by a 10 minute pause while we waited for the fourth! Also we asked for the bill - and again 20 mins later. Such a shame. Being busy is no excuse. Only take bookings you can cope with.

Friendly welcome at this very large Stonegate pub, plenty of area inside already set for dining (Bank Holiday Monday). 5 well kept Real Ale plus a special doggy beer! 😁 Plenty of outside seating. Separate Stables outside available for hire. Large car park.

Great service here and a lovely local pub. My only comment is that my gammon was overly salty, but apart from that, it was very good.

Had lunch here today. Sadly the parking places for disabled people have been removed and the meal was spoilt by peas that were hard and mealy. Access for disabled very difficult.

So glad this hostelry were able to accommodate our party booking. Nine of us met up to celebrate an 80th birthday, as you might expect we all chose different dishes, but all came to the table at the same time. No hesitation in giving five stars for food, service and ambiance. Thank you for good service.

Went here with daughter, her husband and their baby and we each a Sunday roast. They both had turkey and I have 3 meat one. It was absolutely flipping stomach filling delicious. Every mouthful was proper yummy and you can ask for more spuds, gravy and Yorkshire! Service superb, friendly staff and we sat outside in the lovely gardens. I would certainly go there again when next in this area.

What was once my favourite go to restaurant for Christmas Day dinner and a fail safe roast dinner it seems to have gone downhill. Service was almost awkward and all the food was overdone and rubbery. Waited 15 mins after arrival with the waiter walking past and ignoring us so I asked if someone could take our order (there were small children at the table) to be met with an impatient response from the man behind the bar. Not good and will not return sadly

Tuesday nights they do a pub quiz which is great fun for all

Gathered here for my brothers 51st birthday celebration. We’d booked a table in advance for 20 people inside, no problem. Turned up on the day, bright sunshine, asked if we could sit outside instead, no problem. They rearranged 4 lots of garden furniture in the middle of Sunday lunch rush hour, no problem. The beer selection was excellent, no problem. Timothy Taylor was quite exceptional, no problem. Fancied the roast but changed my mind and went for the ribeye steak, no problem. Fancied a glass of Malbec with my steak, no problem. 20 separate orders, no problem. Desserts, no problem. Great service, no problem. Would I come again, no problem! The landlord really knows what he’s doing. Everything was perfect thank you…

Very nice village pub. Staff were efficient and unobtrusive. We were allowed to just eat and enjoy our catch up with our friends. Food well presented. Served hot and fresh. Lovely outdoors seating area for ideal use in the good weather. Plenty of car parking with a large car park at the rear of the pub.

Great service and a good Sunday lunch This was our first visit and certainly will not be our last. Really good selection of ales, we all enjoyed the food, a decent menu indicating all home cooked. Jamie, who looked after us, was amazing, professional, friendly and did not write our order down, just remembered it all, great guy. I only dropped a star on atmosphere because it was a bit noisy, some very young children but we did choose a peak lunch time. We would very much recommend this lovely pub.

We were there for a catered family event. They were flexible and capable and understanding. The food was also brilliant and there was loads of parking. I would definitely book them again.

We ate here yesterday, it’s a pub and has a pub vibe but the food is ATROCIOUS! I had a pie with veg, the pie was dry and slightly cremated, the veg were totally cremated! It also came with a lumpy cheese sauce, which in hindsight I should’ve avoided because I’ve been up all night as a result, but I needed the cheese sauce to cover the burn! Defo not the cheapest place given the quality. Staff were friendly when engaged but not attentive, as in - didn’t see anyone after the food was on the table, wasn’t checked in with to see if the food was alright or if we needed anything - just standard stuff. Coffee was nice.
