The pub we intended to have lunch in was fully booked and they recommended the Three Horseshoes nearby, parking was a bit tricky but in the end we managed to park at the bottom of road, but when we left, noticed a couple of lay-bys that we would use next time. Pub looks a bit unusual from outside but inside it’s very nice with a roaring fire and comfortable seating in the bar - there is also a restaurant but maybe they only use that in the evenings. Friendly welcome and we were told the special of the day was Chicken and Mushroom Pie and Mash - we decided on that - it was delicious and served on really hot plates, slightly dissapointed there was no vegetables with it and we were not asked if we would like some but we will know for next time. The portion was generous, mash creamy and chicken beautifully tender. You can sit outside and eat with your dogs and they also allow dogs in the bar. Shall definitely visit again.

The Old White Horse Inn

09/07/2019: My daughter and I called in for a coffee and snack on the way to visit my parents. We decided to have the Camembert and cheesecake to follow. I can only describe as out of this world. Staff were so lovely and helpful and it’s also dog friendly. We are planning our next visit. Fantastic value for money and well worth a visit.
20/05/2019: Beautiful dinner served here. Hats off to the chef! Three courses for £15. Which was prawn cocktail, beef dinner & banana toffee desert. Everything was cooked perfectly & tasty too. I was stuffed after this. And I’m a big eater. Highly recommend

The Lion Hotel and Bistro Berriew

08/07/2019: We hadn’t been to the Lion for a couple of years and decided to pop in for a drink and maybe some food one Sunday lunchtime when we were en route to Rhayader (and then Tenby) in a pair of very old Land Rovers.
12/05/2019: Definitely book to avoid disappointment. A colourful pub in a beautiful village. Interior and decor inside a must see. The menu and drinks has a good selection and service first class. The duck was beautifully cooked and also the steak. All vegetables fresh and a good wine list to choose from.
