Popped in for a beer whilst on a walk. Friendly and helpful staff. We didn't eat, but the Sunday roast looked good.

Stopped in for a quick pint and stayed the afternoon

Extremely disappointed..... Very limited menu. No atmosphere at all on arrival. Waitress had no personality what so ever. Burger came in a brioche bun and was very greasy..... A complete waste of money, wouldn't ever recommend this place to anyone. Used to visit the three horse shoes a lot, and due to new management we thought we would give it another go, but really wished we hadn't bothered

Food was absolutely delicious, arrived very quickly, and was very well presented. However the menu was extremely limited, no grill menu and was told the chef is unwilling to compromise on the food. Overall a pleasant experience.

Perfection. There’s nothing like it. We had a one of the specials as starter, garlic mushrooms. Unbelievably juicy and full of flavour For mains we had a special again, the duo pork with pork gravy and all the trimmings. Never had a Sunday roast so beautiful. Seeing as the dinner was so lovely we couldn’t resist dessert.. sticky toffee pudding with a toffee sauce and fresh strawberries. 10/10 and thank you to all the staff here too it was a perfect day

First time here for a Sunday lunch and all I can say is what a Sunday Lunch!! The food and service was absolutely outstanding!! Alcohol and soft drinks choice was very good. The decor was very modern, cleanliness was outstanding, the toilets were immaculate. I can most definitely highly recommend this place!!

My wife and I have been on a few occasions now and the food has been outstanding, in difficult times they have got it spot on, great food, great value and good service. A proper pub, nothing better than We will be back

Arrived for Sunday lunch, great atmosphere, staff very friendly could not do enough for you. I had lamb, my wife had chicken both excellent. We had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was also excellent. You need to check this gem out you will not be disappointed. Plenty of parking space. 2 courses £19.95 sunday lunch 3 courses £23.95

We went as a family here - lacked any sort of skill or wow factor. Portions were extremely average (on small side) for the price paid. Service was ok. Menu was ridiculously small, so don’t go if you are even slightly fussy. A very average night made into a overall pointless boring dinner.

Nathan and Monika have really turned this pub around, great new decor and always a good atmposhere, along with delicious meals. If you want an extensive menu of cheap (for a reason) boring pub food, go somewhere else... quality well thought out tasty meals every time. Long may it continue ❤

Another delicious meal here, this time Sunday lunch. Booking advisable as this place gets very busy. The welcome and the service here are first class. Roast beef and lamb much enjoyed as was,a mushroom starter, excellent vegetables, followed by Eton Mess and cheese. As there were many diners the restaurant got a bit noisy, but the food saved the day.

Stopped in for lunch today and it was amazing! Had a pint of hobgoblin gold which was conditioned perfectly followed by the truffle beef burger which was outstanding. Service was brilliant and very friendly. Can’t wait to return

Visited with a friend on our weekend away in my motorhome. We were recommended by our bus driver on our visit to Cardiff. We walked from our campsite ( just over an hour) not disappointed at all food was hot and plenty of it good menu for a Sunday. The staff were very friendly even offered us a lift back to our campsite (which we declined needed to walk off our meal).

Nice food, nice staff, nice venue. Will be going again in July when they have a pop up concert by the VoG Brass Band.

Popped into this beautiful little place last week. Absolutely outstanding fish and chips…. Hats off to the chef here everything was perfect. All the staff are lovely and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended

Under new management, this is a bright and spotless pub serving excellent fare. Run by a friendly couple, he a talented chef, she a talented front of house lady, Mussels in cider sauce and french fries were fabulous, as was the chicken and ham hock pie with mash and broccoli. Desserts of lemon posset and apple crumble were delicious. Excellent service and atmosphere completed a wonderful lunch experience.

Visited on a weekend away and called for a drink and a meal. Food was good value and plenty of it, service excellent and very friendly. We found out that the pub had only reopened for three weeks so this taken into play the owners should have a great future ahead of them.

Lovely Sunday lunch. The food and wine was good value, everything was cooked fresh and served hot with friendly service.

The most beautiful food and service was second to none. Soup to start (fresh/spicy/stunning) Roast beef for main with all the trimmings. Everything was cooked to perfection and served piping hot. Incredible dinner We were taken aback and pretty wowed by the whole experience. Cannot wait to return!

Really lovely Sunday lunch, food and drinks great value, staff polite and attentive, would highly recommend.

Visited as under new management for Sunday Lunch Place is nice and inviting and we were seen to and taken to our table and waitress explained the lunch options and took our drinks order. We chose the 2 course option and I had the ham hock terrine starter and roast pork main whilst my wife choose the roast pork main and apple crumble dessert Having received our drinks it wasn’t long before my starter arrived and it was lovely. A nice portion served with a rocket salad, apple gel and pepper oil with a warm bread roll. Our mains arrived which had plenty of pork, roast potatoes a Yorker and grave with a side dish of mashed swede, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower cheese with more gravy in a pot. We both thoroughly i joy Ed this and was impressed with the portion size. Finally my wife enjoyed her apple crumble served with a berry compot and vanilla bean ice cream. Overall food, drink and service was excellent and we will be back soon. Well done all

Not value for money, Sunday lunch was awful! Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back! “French onion soup” was awful. Sunday dinner was ok but a slither of beef per portion at £13.95 really wasn’t value for money.

Another lovely meal with the family at this very welcoming country pub and restaurant. Can’t fault the Sunday lunches, which were enjoyed by everyone, including the young kids. A great little destination for people that want a little drive into the countryside for a relaxed meal.

Very poor service booked table got there went to order food. was told they had run out of food. Was not impressed as they could of told us before ordering drinks. We told them that it was poor service and could they discount drinks due to us having to go else where. Replay was no as it’s not there fault it was the kitchens fault for not letting them know. So for and experience or a recommendation I will not be going there again and will be telling people to avoid there. Very very poor service

The place is nice to sit for a pint and good for families with kids as they have a large beer garden and soft play. The food wasn't great and probably wouldn't eat there again.

The Staff, Food and surroundings where very good would recommend for Sunday Roast anytime. York Puddings Pudding were to die for and the roast beef was very tender.

Called in for a meal found the pub to be lacking in atmosphere the food was okay but nothing special, in my opinion expensive for what we had.

Friendly pub with great food, more quality over qantity and so refreshing to visit a pub where the chef is talented and strives to provide quality, homemade, well thought out meals, rather than the cheapest ingredients and microwaved vaccum packs like other establishments!

Food, after a wait, was good. I thought having several children running around the restaurant was unacceptable during our evening meal. The noise was relentless, I didn't complain as it seemed acceptable by the staff. We left as soon as the parents decided its bed time for the kids around half eight PM. Not sure if we will be returning anytime soon.

We turned up without booking at 4 pm on Sunday. Although it was time for the chef to go home, he agreed to work beyond the end of his shift and feed us. We were hungry, our food was delicious and we were very grateful....

Wasn't supposed to open till 1500 popped my head in at 14.40 and the landlord said come in very comfortable and friendly people and immaculate.

Very disappointed with our visit today after my brother recommended it. When we arrived we hadn't even sat down and the young lady was asking what we would like to drink, we had to wait to order our food when all the young girls were just wandering around. The food then took ages to come at least half an hour, 3 of us had a roast dinner which was lovely, my husband had fish which was full of bones. Then 3 of us had finished eating but mum was just finishing hers when the young lady came and took our plates away, I thought this was very rude. I am only commenting because unless people bring things to your attention they can't be rectified

Where to begin? Visited with my daughter this evening and Lucy, Lewis and the team were very welcoming. We turned up without a reservation and we’re seated within minutes of our arrival. Lucy took our drinks order straight away, whilst we looked at the menu....

Excellent Sunday roast. Service is great. Love this pub.

We went there for food the other day. The menu wasn't much cop for a lunch time menu. So we had the hollumi fries each. The plate come out with 5 fries on it. When we asked the lad behind the bar what the hell this was, he just shrugged and said they ran out. So we asked if we seriously had to pay a fiver each for the dish and he smirked and said yes. Customer service not there. Won't go back in a hurry.

Hadn't visited this pub for a long while. Had a lovely bar meal here, and they made us and our dog very welcome indeed. Will definitely be going back.

Went here on a bit of a whim but definitely did not regret it. Pub is owned by a husband and wife and I think it is an independent pub, not part of any chain. My partner and I had a Chicken Katsu burger and chips and we bot thought it was absolutely delicious. The chips were big and chunky and nice and fluffy inside. The was loads of breaded chicken in the burger. Chicken was lovely and moist, the breaded outside had a good crunch and the Katsu curry sauce was exactly like it should be. My Mum had the King Prawn and Patagonian Scallop Linguine which was a big surprise, she usually goes for Fish and Chips. Anyway she loved it, the Prawns were nice and big and she thought they had a fabulous taste, the scallops were tasty and the Pasta was just right. Service was great, landlady was very friendly and welcoming. I had a lovely pint of Barry Island IPA. Food arrived in good time but we weren't in any rush. Young girl who took the plates away was lovely also. So far three mains and three drinks it came to £43 approx which I thought was excellent value based on the experience. If I'm in the area again I will try and remember to return. Support the independent pubs!!!

We had a gorgeous few hampers of delicious food as a surprise for our intimate wedding at The Secret Garden, duffryn mawr - made by the three horseshoes. There were gorgeous breads, chicken slices, arancini and more. Everyone loved them so much, it was just what we needed. Thank you for the yummy food and beautiful presentation. It really added to our wedding and I'm sure any event! Or even to have a picnic at home or outside. Best wishes

Food was nice. There was a reduced menu when I went and there's was very little options for someone who's lactose intolerant ( had to have a child's pasta meal). Friendly atmosphere though and the lady who runs it was very attentive and chatty with the customers. Would visit again.

Lovely to return after lock down. We both enjoyed a fantastic Filet Steak with plenty of peppercorn sauce on the side and lots of very tasty chips. We shared a hot chocolate desert to finish a lovely meal. Looking forward to returning soon.
