The Stables in Cardiff

This restaurant is disorganised and the staff disinterested. We booked our table a month in advance as we were attending a concert in the venue next door (20 meters away), and were allotted an hour slot between 6-7. We arrived at the venue and were left to stand outside for over 5 mins before being shown to our table. We ordered (via a QR code) as quickly as we could due to needing to be out by 7.20 at the latest. We chased our food order three times (each time being told 5-10 mins), before having to give up, leave the restaurant, and go hungry to our concert. I was told that the hour + wait was due to being short staffed and because they had many walk-ins. Perhaps don't take in the walk-ins if you can't get food to your booked customers within the hour (or ideally 25 mins). No one gave us a food wait time at any point, or apologised that we had to leave empty bellied after waiting for over an hour - just a shrug of the shoulders. To add insult to empty-bellies, they told us that they personally would be perfectly happy to wait 1 hr for food, and that in fact they would be happy to wait 2 hrs!! Such rude children!

Delicious! Quality of the food was amazing. The pizza I got was literally like a Nando’s chilli jam base, it was stunning. I’d 100% come back here.

Really friendly waiting and bar staff, love the rapscallion cider! Good quality food and filling portions. Recommend the nachos and pizzas (well basically everything)!

Excellent value for money. I booked a table of ten for then bottomless brunch. Some of us upgraded to cocktails and some stuck with the basic version. The food was delicious and so much of it too we ended up taking most of it home. We didn't feel rushed and even though we were late , they kindly waited for everyone to arrive before starting our 90 mins. The staff were really friendly and helpful and also offered some great alternatives for one of our table who had alergies. I cannot highly recommend this place enough and will definitely be back.

I popped in to the Stable opposite Cineworld today just for a snack and a pint of there excellent Cider. The staff were great and didn't mind me just having a side dish. I went for the Garlic Bread with Cheese. This was very tasty with just the right amount of cheese. It arrived piping hot. The ease of ordering is to be recommended. That is you order yourself at your table. The only slight surprise was the lack of starters (but I might have missed them). I'll definitely be back to try there Pizza's.

One of the best pizzas i have ever had. Slice of cymry! Really lovely servise, fast and you definitely should try the ciders too 😋❤️ great place!!!

Excellent bottomless brunch! We all had one pizza , sides, and nachos. There is a wide range of cocktails to select from. Tasty food and the drinks were flowing.

I would have liked to have tried this place. However, the member of staff at the door advised me there were no tables available. Clearly not true as a couple of groups of two and four were seated after me and others were pointed of the direction of the outside tables if they had no reservation. He very clearly didn’t want a solo diner taking up space on a busy early Saturday night. I then watched in horror as he picked up pizzas from the pass and handled them, literally, rather than leaving them on their serving platters. A lucky escape I think.

We were a table of 10 and although we all ordered at the same time, 2 of us were waiting for our nachos for around 45 minutes. Everyone else had finished their food, which came out quickly. The nachos were ok, not great and mine were meant to be loaded with chicken but I struggled to find any chicken tbh. We asked twice what was causing the delay and the waitress was pretty dismissive the first time. Eventually she apologised and chased the food up for us but we didn't even get offered a free glass of pop or anything. All in all, we were underwhelmed so you just lost yourselves 10 potential repeat customers. Shame because it could have been great.

Visited as a family. Service was fabulous, really welcoming and food was delicious. Selection of ciders was lovely and very unusual. Great place to visit.

Great selection of beers and lagers. Thanks Charlie (manager) for suggesting new drinks we really enjoyed. Relaxed atmosphere after a hectic gig over the road!

Lovely thin pizzas with a variety of toppings to choose from and the biscoff cheesecake was lovely. Very friendly staff serving.

I went with friends from work and did the bottomless brunch which was brilliant. The food was lovely and a very good deal. The staff were amazing, everyone was so friendly. Nothing was a hassle and they were always around to get another drink so we could make the most of the brunch. Will definitely be back in the future!

Absolutely stunning food, compliments to the chef! The pizza is so thin and crispy which makes such a nice change to thick dough! Really yummy toppings! beautiful setting and the candle makes it super cosy! Our first time trying here and we’ll be back for sure!

We had a great lunch with friends here, it was fairly quiet for a midweek lunch spot but the service was excellent and all the food was very tasty. Great range of original pizzas and drinks, and very spacious with plenty of space between the tables.

Fantastic pizza and excellent cider, the staff were all very helpful, would definitely recommend as somewhere to eat if you like pizza and cider.

A graduation celebration for six people. Arrived early for our table and the staff were fabulous. They gave us our table and made us very welcome. The food was delicious.

I remember going when it first opened overcrowded understaffed and loud. Fast forward to now and the staff had time for you and you could enjoy your food and cider. I will be sure to return shortly and make my way through the ciders.

A meal for 6 with no booking, we were seated really quickly on bench style seats. The venue specialises in cider but has many other drinks too and the server was attentive and took orders quickly. The drinks seemed a little slow to arrive but not excessive. We all ordered different pizzas and they were absolutely delicious. The lamb and goats cheese pizza is great!

Fui al establo a comer algo después del partido de ayer, comí muy bien y conocí a gente muy amigable. Usted se sienta en mesas comunales y yo conversé con mis vecinos que hicieron la noche, al igual que las pizzas brillantemente innovadoras. De corteza fina y muy sabrosa. Muy recomendable.

Viaje familiar con gluten sin gluten y un niño de 2 años. y ambos atendidos extremadamente bien:)Personal amable y experto. Servicio sin prisas y maravillosos ingredientes. No puedo elogiarlo lo suficiente. Justo en la parte trasera de la calle David's 2 es conveniente, pero lo suficientemente lejos del bullicio y ajetreo del patio de comidas para que pueda relajarse y disfrutar.Pies pizza y sidra es la línea de la etiqueta y está muy bien:)
