We chose to stay here following seeing them featured on 'Four in a bed'. It was a very comfortable stay overall. The room was all ready for our arrival. They put the heating on and had gentle music playing in the room, giving it a welcoming feel. The en-suite bathroom has a sliding door to save room but does little to block out the bathroom sounds, resulting in very little privacy. So make sure you're comfortable with your partner! Also, although nice that the room had a little cooler fridge, I had to turn this off during the night. The coffee machine has seen better days also and never gave a nice drink. The biggest letdown for us was that there was no cooked breakfast available on the Monday morning we were there. This was very strange and left us feeling short-changed with a very basic 'continental' breakfast. So please check this when booking. Service was okay, yet nothing special to make this a place to return to.

The Three Hills was fabulous; as nice a hotel as I have experienced anywhere in England. The whole experience was faultless. Emma and her staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food was brilliant and the rooms and dining areas so tastefully done. My family were staying for a wedding locally and the children liked it so much that they didn't want to leave. They made our stay perfect.

We had our wedding here in August. It couldn’t have gone any better. Emma and the team are true professionals and managed the day to the highest standards. The staff were exceptional and so attentive. Robs team in the kitchen put out the best food we could have asked for and our guests were blown away. If you’re looking for a country pub wedding the three hills ticks all the boxes !

What an absolute gem of a place!! Beautiful pub Great staff Some of the best pub food we have ever eaten. My husband said it was the best pub burger he has ever had and we even asked the chef where he got his meat from and took a short drive there the next day to buy some bits. Room incredibly clean and comfortable. The young girl who was in charge of breakfast the next day did a fantastic job and again the food was excellent!! Great night away with hubby and very reasonable priced for the quality. Definitely visit again.

Business trip, room is a bit small but works. Shower somehow leaked a lot of water through a closed door, and a new showerhead is needed as water was coming out the top, and a new toilet seat is needed. For dinner had fish and chips, great portion size and high quality fish, chips were a bit too greasy and the worst ones were hidden at the bottom. breakfast was ok but took over 30min to prepare! eggs royale arrive lukewarm to the table, veggie breakfast tasted nice. update: stayed here a few times more... on one occasions hot water ran out in the night, and on another there wasn't any in the morning.

I ate here a week or so ago with a group of work colleagues. The food was outstanding, and so was the service. The staff are very friendly, engaging and attentive. Considering there were eight of us, the food arrived promptly and did not disappoint in the slightest! The prices reflect the quality, and I cannot recommend it any more highly. We have a large facility nearby and often have employees from other offices visiting, so this has become the number one place to tell everyone about. I have accommodation booked for the coming week, and I'm sure that won't disappoint either. Keep up the great work, and I'm sure you'll be seeing plenty more business from us.

The Three Hills was a pleasant surprise, with its exceptional food, fine and friendly service, and delightful atmosphere. My partner and I were particularly enamoured with the extensive fish menu, which is a specialty of the chef. Food presentation was exquisite, and everything was particularly tasty. Our server Eleanor was an attentive wonder, so I was perfectly pleased to pay the optional 10% service charge included on the bill. If I have anything negative at all to report it is that the starter and dessert were so exceptionally good that they left the entree seeming a little flat between them, although I am certain if they had been had in isolation we would have deemed them excellent. Highly recommend the Three Hills. An excellent gem in the Essex-Sussex borders. Worth the drive.

We attended for a Sunday roast in the Orangery, in a party that included a mix of adults and young children. Overall it was good and we would come back. Pros: - Delicious food which we all enjoyed. We have eaten here a couple of times before and the quality has been excellent every time. - Friendly and attentive waiting staff, once sat at our table. We were met by two waitresses in the Orangery and both were very warm and charming. - Lovely setting and ambience in the Orangery. Cons: - We were met with no welcome when we arrived (on time) which made us feel a bit uncomfortable. When we asked whether we could be shown to our table, we were told that the table was not ready and we were then left standing in the entrance for about 12 minutes until we were eventually shown in. - An apparent mishap with the ordering system meant that our starters did not arrive until quite some time after ordering. We were offered some free bread and olive oil to tide us over, but were very hungry by the time the starters did come out, which by then was approx. 1hr10mins after we had first arrived at the pub.

Very upset family ruined first get away after a year of covid! Decided to bail on our stay due to challenging welcome, no where to park and stand of fish staff. On arrival after a long journey there was confusion over check in times. They challenged us to show them where we had got check in from 12-6 which I was able to prove and no where on that email did it mention a later time. After further investigation there were other emails of later times but also emails that read 12pm as I have shown many people, it is not my problem they don’t all match up . Even coming to a comprise I asked for half the refund to both accept fault. Instead I have been repeatedly ignored. Clearly the customer is never right here.We tried to kill time to wait but on one of the hottest days of the year my daughter then became unwell and upset as being covid we hadn’t booked anything else to do so we’re stranded and decided to do the long journey home. I even called to tell them this and didn’t think they would want a unwell child to stay anyway given a pandemic, and they said a refund would be possible if I could show where I got the 12-6 from. I did and instead was told because the room had been cleaned and the beds were made and ready ( clearly not as we weren’t allowed in) they couldn’t possibly give a refund or even half as I suggested because basically they couldn’t afford it. Not a family run understanding place they have since ignored any of my emails which is sad.I hope they manage to sort there emails out where they are read more clearly and match up.

The room was clean and comfortable with good en-suite facilities (though the bathroom door did not stay closed easily!)Covid restrictions meant that on two days breakfasts were left on a tray outside the room on the day before. The continental breakfasts were adequate though my wife felt that the Danish pastries were not really her breakfast thing. The two family meals we had suited us all (including the three children) very well and we enjoyed excellent friendly service in the large open marquee. The drink selection was also fantastic. The food was delicious, however, the brioche on the burger was a little dry. It may be due to the fact it was very cold outside. Also, now knowing the portion size of vegetables on the plate, I would definitely recommend adding side veggies. Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable meal!

We went out for a last meal before lockdown and chose the Three Hills as we've been a few times before and they were offering half price on drinks (turned out to be some of the drinks). I don't want to give bad reviews but I was so annoyed and my comments at the time were largely ignored. I will start by saying the pizzas were very good and the staff polite if inattentive. However as pizza was only thing on order that night, I was disappointed to have to wait so long. After 45 mins and a couple of apologies, I asked for some chips as I was starving. We did get some but it was a tiny pot with chips about and inch long. Were they the left over ones? I had hoped that after being made to wait for so long they would be free but we were charged £4!!!! Seriously? I asked which wines were half price and given a wine list but when I got the bill, they were not reduced. It would have been nice to be told at the time . I also had to go and find someone to take our money as the 5 staff milling around showed no sign of coming to us. The final bill for 2 pizzas and 4 drinks was £54 and having to pay a 10% service charge was frankly a bit of a cheek.

We ate in the restaurant proper (you can eat in the bar area, or outside in a covered gazebo thing too). The restauratnt is a high-ceilinged, small-barn-like space that has been nicely decorated and was surprisingly intimate despite its high ceiling. There are big glass windows / doors all along one wall towards the garden, so I would imagine it looks lovely in the daylight (it was dark when we had dinner there). The menu was short (not sure if duing non-Covid times it would be longer) but there was enough choice of nice things, some of them pub staples like fish and chips, bangers and mash, burger. The fish of the day was stone-bass - very nice (so nice in fact that my wife wished there was a little more of it - as she did of the lovely Crunchie-bar cheesecake). I had venison bangers and mash, with a side of mixed greens. The quality of the food is very high. The wine list is very good too, and a lot of wines can be had by the glass, which is always nice.Service was excellent; a service charge is added automatically.

We booked this and were aware that there would be some things that were a bit different because of Covid but the lack of communication explaining those differences left me with a sour taste in my mouth. There was NO housekeeping service. We were only told there was no housekeeping when we phoned to ask for towels for 2 people (only 1 person worth of towels was in the room when we arrived) - had we not phoned we would not have been told.Breakfast for 2 mornings was left in the room when we arrived (we were told it would be delivered to our door in the mornings). We had croissants in a bag (yuck), muesli and yogurt (left in a little fridge in the room) and not enough coffee pods (which would have been refilled if there was housekeeping!).Now to the good bits. The room was lovely. The shower was good, the towels were fluffy, the bed was firm, the duvet soft. The windows do open out onto the balcony for other people to walk past at the right height to just look in but the curtains were very thick (for such a hot day, this wasn't as good as it sounds but not the fault of the hotel). The food in the pub was absolutely lovely. We were served outside in a flyover type gazebo - very stylish and smart. Not sure what it'll be like when the weather turns cooler, but for us it was lovely.Overall, a very pleasant 2 night stay and I am sure that outside of Covid, we would have been happier than we were. A little communication goes a long way!

Staff were extremely welcoming, efficient and friendly, it was a pleasure to be served by them. Food was delicious and well presented and although the menu was limited because of Covid we thoroughly enjoyed our Mexican chicken and fish and chips. We would have liked to have dessert too but the good-sized portions precluded that. We would love to return once indoor eating is possible to try out the full menu.

I’ve reviewed The Three Hills previously (4 stars), but am doing so again because of our more recent experience. Very briefly: as well as a decent sized garden with picnic tables, there was also a marquee up for sheltered outside dining. This was useful, because despite several hot weeks in the day we came the rain came down in buckets. There was a queuing system, hand sanitisation, and distancing measures in place. Staff wore masks. So we felt that they were well organised and safe in relation to COVID. But real praise is for the service. It was, as last time, friendly and efficient. But they kept smiling despite the absolute drenching they were taking whilst serving, cleaning and tidying. All whilst we sat in the a waste and dry. Absolute stars.

A lovely dinner here all the staff were amazing and the lady serving us couldn’t do enough to help us she was so lovely! Was a bit worried because it was cold and didn’t realise it was outside seating but they gave us blankets (would like it to be more clear in the website, maybe highlighted or a font change) food was super yummy recommend the Three hills burger and hoisin duck pizza they were amazing and my partner loved the lemon drizzle dessert! Will definitely be coming back, hopefully inside next time xx and thank you for the glass of bubbly for my birthday guys and singing me happy birthday super cute ! <3

Have been to this place often but tonight had a booking for 3 people. Due to the weather and a member of my party suffering from asthma dint think we should sit outside but no other option available, Had paid a deposit of £30 but asked if we could move it to another day, The answer was NO! Could move it but I would lose my deposit. Wasn't interested in the money off offer but just wanted to rebook a table! They would have come out quids in! Sadly i wont be going back to this establishment even though it is my local and in the past have spend a lot of money here!

We stepped into the back garden were offered hand gel and taken along the path to the star-studded patio with quality fairy lights. The large area under the canopy had varying size tables placed spaciously and artistically around rose/flower beds as if they were in a ballroom - so inviting. The tall height of the canopy gave the feel of being in a grand marquee without walls, fresh and bordered with green! There were 6 of us and we all enjoyed our dishes, I loved the banana pancakes followed by crispy fish and tripled fried chips with an amazing creamy pea dip! And the service was friendly and attentive - thanks for a super night out!

I have stayed here twice and will come back again. Everything about this independently owned property is wonderful. The team cannot do enough to help and are keen to make the experience the best that it can be. The rooms are immactualte and super clean. The COVID risks are visibly managed and the team clearly have a committment to making sure that they are safe and their guests are safe. The food is fab and the drinks menu perfect - all dietary preferences are catered for - this us my favourite place to stay - I love it and heartily recommend.

The most beautiful haven in the middle of the Cambridgeshire countryside. I visit a lot and this time I had the pulled mushroom tacos and they were absolutely delicious! A must try. So pleased to see such amazing vegan options. The atmosphere is always gorgeous, and so lovely to have animals roaming. Thank you for a perfect afternoon!

We had a fantastic roast chicken for two which came with red cabbage, honey carrots, leek and broccoli gratin, giant Yorkshire puddings and perfect roast potatoes. Lemon drizzle with ice cream to share. A beautiful setting and great staff made for 10/10 experience.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived - very helpful staff, nice quiet room, delicious food & wine. The next day we used the Pub Walks app to do a circular amble through the surrounding countryside and come back for a light lunch before leaving! Would thoroughly recommend.

Opted for the veggie burger, wasn’t overly impressed. Burger came with no sauce, a wilted piece of lettuce and was dry. The chips were the nicest part of the meal unfortunately. £18 for a soft drink and burger. Atmosphere was ok.

Exceptional service and superb food. Have eaten here many times since they opened on 1 May 2021 and everyone I have brought to this gastro pub, loved it. Well done Mauli and Bumi.

Nice Restaurant The menu was quite special. Got venison, beef cheeks and lamb pasta. Overall everything tasted good. Delicious and tender beef and venison. Personally I prefer the mashed potato than the layered potato. The vegetables were not overcooked. Everything was correctly seasoned with good balance. You know, the side didn't taste bland after you bite the main. Glad that the bread pudding was not too sweet. Personally I hate dessert being too sweet. The staff was very efficient. Wanted to get our order as soon as giving us the menu. The restaurant area was clean. Lovely environment. Just some problems with the toilets. They were really smelly when customers passed by in the narrow corridor.
