Very poor service Saturday when we visited,the 2 young girls need to be restrained in customer service because they are lacking in it,I literally sat down and she was asking what I wanted before I had even looked at the menu so I said I need time to look at menu then she came back 60 seconds later pestering us for what we wanted and felt we were under pressure and didn't have time look at menu properly before ordering and the 2 girls didn't appear happy because they were very grumpy and once we had finished we was waiting for dessert menu but the girls decided they were going to stand around and ignore everyone so we got up and left after paying bill,we have had good service in here before but this time it was very poor and seemed rushed to eat and leave but on a positive note thanks to the cook because food was delicious.

What has happened to this place. Ive been visiting here with work whilst stopping at the hotel on a regular basis over the past 3 years. The last few visits has been awful. The staff as a whole just seem miserable and make you feel like you are in the way. You have to chase them down for anything like another drink they just seem to stand around chatting. It used to be such a nice pub to eat at. Only given a 1 star as the lady on breakfast called Liz is a really nice person.

The steak was literally the best tasting steak I've had in many years. Compliments to the chef and the buyer. The service by the majority of the staff was friendly BUT the 'greeting' on arrival was unbelievebly TERRIBLE. The lady didn't actually greet us but sullenly asked our names, didn't look at us and had the most miserable face I've ever seen. I wanted to leave as I felt so unwelcome. However, I stopped and wished her a good evening with the biggest smile I had. She will remember me, but hopefully it will give her cause to remember how to greet her guests, in this day and age when money is tight and people have to choose VERY CAREFULLY where they spend it. P.S. the cutlery was a bit gross as was the cleanliness of some tables. However, I will give them one more try, based on the steak which we shared (the festive burger was very ordinary and most of it was saved for the dog). BUT, if the rest of the experience doesn't improve then I won't go back again.

I’m sorry to say but it was really bad the battered 8 mushroom starter was luke warm and just plonked in the middle of a large plate no garnish nothing. We then waited almost an hr for our mains and it was just not good taste presentation was so so poor the white of the fried egg was runny annd not cooked and staff just not interested to be honest. The place its self is dirty don’t let your kids play on the floor as there was a metal edging strip that was snapped and sticking up from the carpet it would do some serious damage to someone if the caught themselves on it. I know these things happen but at least cover it with something and leave it safe. tihS

The Breakfast hot food is very limited , on two occasions I have had to ask to food to be reheated the serving heating lamps do not keep food at temperature , very annoying , this was my second visit for breakfast and it was the same on each occasion , expensive for only luke warm limited choice of hot food , avoid go elsewhere

Leah and Zoe are great and made sure I always had a drink and checked back on me made me feel very welcome . The festive menu was delicious

Popped in as live locally for a Sunday dinner (last minute plan) and was surprisingly impressed. Good size portion. Good price. Roast potatoes were to die for :) I felt sorry for one member off staff though. She seemed to be doing everything from cleaning to ordering to serving.I watched her going round none stop as the younger members of staff stood around gossiping and chatting and doing the bare minimum. The one girl looked like she'd been out all night and couldn't be bothered to be there at all. I did mention it to the lady serving my family what a great job she was doing but unfortunately didn't catch her name.

Went for breakfast and I've got to say loved it breakfast was fantastic as much as you can eat staff really helpful nice clean definitely be going there again

After passing this Beefeater on a regular basis we finally called in. Unfortunately I think we just called at a bad time for them because their Grill had broken down so food choice was limited to food which didn’t need to be cooked on the grill which if I’m honest, there wasn’t much of a choice. These things happen and it was just unfortunate it was when we visited. I’m having to base my star rating on the experience I received when visiting, hopefully if I re-visit, then I can look at giving a new star rating. I’m also basing my rating on the food they were able to cook at the time, I had to have the fish as I only had a choice of fish or pies. The fish and chips were very good but the starter of battered mushrooms were over cooked. And then I couldn’t understand why people were still being served burgers throughout the time we were there when I was told I couldn’t have a burger due to the broken grill. I would like to have given a better review but I think it was all circumstantial that my experience wasn’t great.

In a word.......rubbish. Went there 29.09.24 for a celebration meal. Out of 8 meals 2 or 3 were ok, the others not great at all. They had no steak sauce in the whole place. Considering this is meant to be a steak house this isn't good. A lot of the food was burnt and presented badly. The last time before today we went here was 10 years ago. Will probably be another 10 before we go back. Staff weren't interested in our grievances at all. No money off offered and no real apology. Judging by other reviews this seems to be the norm.

Ordered a sirloin that arrived with a lot of fat and was extremely thin and scabby looking - more akin to a frying steak. Sent it back the moment it arrived and ask for a portion of chips instead (as everyone else had their food) which arrived piping hot but undercooked. Other food was subpar for the table too, but it's fairly dull to document it. There were about 9 tables in on a Sunday at 3pm (hints were there..), including ourselves we were aware of 6 tables making complaints. Life is too short in summary to waste time going places like this, where the head chef is a microwave :-)

Went for a meal here yesterday. Food was not cooked properly made me and husband ill afterwards. The service was terrible, no one came to ask about drinks. The person who seated us just rolled her eyes at us when we sat down. Will not be going back!!

Sadly if I could give 0 stars I would, visited yesterday, the service started positive but very quickly turned sour. Our server the ever so miserable Leah, definitely didn't want to be working. We ordered one of their burgers, for it to come with about 5 chunky chips rather than the skin on fries as stated. No attentiveness when it came to serving, constantly walking past empty glasses, without asking if we needed anything else. When we did, we asked for 2 cocktails (easy ones) and again the lovely Leah rolled her eyes and somewhat sighed. These cocktails were awful! Not at all happy, was booked to go the second day too but happily spent money somewhere else.

Absolutely shocking meal today ..I don't think I am the only one posting on hear today ...

The meal was the worst I have ever been presented with. My 95 year father in law found his gammon full of gristle and unable . My fish and chips had only 6 chips on the plate and the batter was burnt. Why do we have to tolerate this the staff were uninterested in us and were more interested in chatting amongst themselves A very disappointing experience and costly.,,

Dirty greasy kitchen, rude waiter had a lot to say under her breath, over cooked eggs, flat coke and a sirloin steak that’s still mooing, definitely do not recommend!!!!!

Good food for the price especially all you can eat. More than one coffee machine would help as this was a bottle neck for all and it errored out several times. Have options for cold and hot plates in one location, not at opposite ends of the service area. This caused a blockage. Minor points in what was a good visit with good staff.

Served by Liz today .very welcoming .checked on us through our whole time here .food alright etc etc was asking. 10 out of 10 service .always had a smile on her face .made our day . Food was fab .

Normally this place is wonderful. Today it is awful. Waited 10 minutes for eggs that didn't come. Everything else was stone cold. The bacon was like leather and no one seemed to care. Ended up with cold leathery bacon, cold sausage and cold tomato.

Thought we were stopping by for a carvery. They put it all on the plate at the counter, keeping it warm under lamps. Parsnips and roasts were too well done, the beef too pink for me. Unfortunately I was very ill that night, can't blame anything else as I had nothing else to eat.

Lovely friendly welcome. We were a party of 6 and had not pre- booked. Initially informed we could sit 4 and 2. A short time later we were accommodated as a 6. All staff very warm and helpful. Overall a delightful experience and we appreciated the personal touches from Jo, Lauren, Liz, Jake and chef Rich. Thank you.

Great food and a relaxing and quiet atmosphere! The mixed grill was cooked exactly as required and there were no issues. Vicky was our waitress and she was very polite and friendly.

I was served by Vicky and the customer service was great. All food came in good timing and Vicky was always making sure we had drinks and our food was okay. Definitely recommend.

Been here so many times and can never complain about the food. We drive from Telford as we prefer this beefeater to the one in Telford. We both had the smothered chicken melt today off the lunch menu and, as always, it was lovely! We had a waitress who we hadn’t met before called Vicky, but feel she definitely deserves a mention just because me and my partner both agreed she was the nicest waitress we’ve ever had! Hopefully she’s here again next time we come 😁

It was ok for a quick stop, we had breakfast which was a disappointment over all. The price was very good and the selection was good but the cooked food wasn't the best. To much made at a time and left under heat lamps for way to long so food was dry, hard and certainly things uneadable. Wouldn't stop for breakfast here again myself

Stunning Beefeater great decor had to travel due to recent closures but worth it … prices are cheap but steak is on par with high quality steakhouses like Miller and Carter… Recomend.

My husband and I had an evening meal at The Three Fish Beefeater. I had gammon and chips and my husband had the cod and chips. The meals were barely warm and we had to eat them as quickly as possible before they got any colder. My fried egg was rock hard and also the garden peas on both our plates were not very green - almost sage in colour. It did not help that there was a screaming child on the next table and I did ask to be moved when we arrived at 6pm but was told that we would have to sit at that table. Could not understand this as there were quite a few tables for two elsewhere in the restaurant! We will not be visiting this beefeater again.

came for breakfast with my son as a treat when i asked if i could have a table for four as we needed a bit of space to sort some paper work i was told no i had to have a table for two as all the tables were set up for lunch i noticed this was an extra knife and fork ?? i was not sure who was the customer but not to make a fuss we were put on a table squashed in a corner and could not talk as too many people around us , will not bother again there are plenty of other places doing breakfast

Visited a very quiet Three Fish Beefeater on a Sunday in June 2024. We were pleased that we could get a table without advanced booking . The Three Fish is a large modern building next the Mere Park garden centre . The restaurant is on a single flat floor with toilets alongside the main entrance inside the restaurant. A large bar and open kitchen is located alongside the left hand side of the main room. It is a modern building with plenty of space between the tables and has space/ tables for larger groups / parties to be accommodated. There are various service points around the restaurant and the place seemed to be adequately staffed with a barman and at least 4 waiting staff. We decided to have a cocktail each to cheer ourselves up - my wife had a Rum Punch and I had a non alcoholic Peach Melba 'mocktail' . Both very nice - my wife says the only decent thing we had while were there! We then waited ages for further service for the food order . My wife ordered a Fillet steak whilst I had a steak and ale pie . We watched whilst the staff stood around in groups having chats whilst customers seem to be left unattended. It is not the first time we have felt this in some places as ' Sunday staff' in some places seem to not have a customer focus . The food arrived and my wife had asked for a medium to well done Fillet steak - my description would be ' over done' it was well carbonised and looked very ashen ! My pie was also very dry and overcooked . We asked for some water to help us cope with the meal and it never appeared . We ended up walking to the bar to re-request the water. The groups of waiting staff continued to congregate and when we had enough we tried to catch the eye of the staff . Again we ended up having to get up and walk to the bar to ask for the bill . This Beefeater is in a prime position but seems to lack the welcome and customer care that one would expect . I am afraid that I would recommend it based up our recent visit although it has the potential to be so much better .

We visited here on Wednesday 5th June Around 12 15 for refreshments on a journey on the a41. Lovely friendly reception by a host and welcomed by our server Joanna, both ladies couldn’t do enough for us and were pleasant and efficient. Food was good standard pub grub, the missus had fish and her portion was huge, like a Nile perch … Nothing at all to pick fault with , service first class and we’d go more often if we lived nearer. Thank you falsies for making a long journey pleasant and we recommend here to fellow travellers ..

Called in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, it wasn't busy. The service was good and the staff were friendly. Quite disappointed with our meals. The meals came quite quickly, which was good. My partner had a Burger with an extra pattie and chips (About 4 chunky chips) I had the lasagne and a side of chips (cold chips) Wanted the Sweet potato fries but they don't do them at that branch weirdly. Portion size for both meals was not what I expected for the price of the meals I would say they were more of a children's plate size for an adult priced meal.

Very good value with kids eating free. Small criticism would be no whole milk available

Second visit as previous visit was so good. Not so good this time. No roast dinners left. Had to wait long time to pay. Asked server for the bill, took her a while to come back to us.

Myself and partner called in for a treat full English breakfast, entrance staff were polite and welcoming, self service so help yourself to as much as you want. Back at our table both breakfasts were barely warm so suggested they turn up the overhead heated lights to keep the food warm, someone came over and offered a replacement meal to which I agreed, I went up to the counter to collect it and was asked from what looked like a cook which part of the breakfast was only warm and replied all of it . I was then told a prod temperature was taken and it was OK. I suggested she try the food to which I was told its fine , you are a nice person arnt you ! I could not believe this and told the staff I wanted to make a complaint against the cooks attitude. A manageress came over and apologised for the staff. Let's put it this way we won't be going back and will spread the word about the experience. Hope Gordon Ramsey doesn't go there.

Server was polite, friendly and efficient. Steak cooked to my requiement. Restaurant was clean with a pleasant welcoming atmosphere.

My husband and I had 2 x fantastic fillet steaks served by a lovley lady called Vicky but all the staff are excellent, we were welcomed and asked if we had any allergies

First time I've been here and it was ok. We tried to find shade for the car (as the dog was staying there) but there wasn't any other than the multiple disabled spaces. When we got in the seating was nice but every time the door opened it let in a cold blast of air that was really quite chilling! The food was nice but surprisingly small! I ordered what looked like a big burger but it was smaller than McDonald's burger and the McDonald's one would have been preferred (especially considering the price) Don't think I'll be back again.

I found Amy, Liz, and Ceri, the Breakfast Crew, Quite pleasant and helpful. My server, Ceri was especially attentive to my needs. As a Tourist Visiting Newport, she helped me start my morning off right with a fresh bowl of Porridge even though it was busy. My Food came to me hot and she was even able to find me some oat milk with out any issues. In all a Great Place to eat breakfast

Booked a table at 5 for an early dinner with several small children. Seating and ordering was fine, but it took half an hour for someone to come back out to say one of the dishes wasn't available. It was then a further 45 minutes before the food started arriving and they even managed to bring the children's food last (one a good five minutes after everyone else). The waiting staff were somewhat apologetic but it would have been hard to come back from this point. It's hard to deal with hungry five year olds. The food was just about alright but the steaks were generally more cooked than was ordered and of course it was pretty cold by the time we actually started eating after all had arrived.

We'd had a long week at work and wanted to eat out as a treat. Had a really good meal, and it offered us a lovely chance to spend time as a couple. The meal was one of the best we've had here. My partner is a chef and really enjoyed someone else cooking him a nice meal - massive thank you to Rich and Tony in the kitchen. Excellent job lads!

Came for breakfast with the family we were greeted at the door by Lauren and she was very pleasant and polite Jo was also lovely making sure the buffet was topped up for everyone would definitely recommend for breakfast especially if chef Leanne is cooking
