Booked for dinner on a Friday eve. We love Turkish and Sushi. The Sushi we found was discontinued when we got there but there was plenty of choice from the Turkish menu. The waitress was super nice and helpful. The food was all fresh and well cooked. Plenty enough for us to share with some nice Turkish wine also available. Will return

Went for Afternoon Tea to celebrate my mums birthday. Christine the waitress was lovely 😊 but the food was very disappointing and was nothing like as advertised. Not even a single scone in sight! & the quality of the food was so cheap and basic, that we left most of it. Not worth it! We definitely won’t go back there again!

For the price paid for afternoon tea, and the amount of people in our party the quality of the food served to us was extremely poor! Nothing like the advertised photo.

Light bulb out 2 of them only 1 cup it's a 3 person room got a free coffee in the morning but had better food well over priced see

Stumbled across this place by accident. Myself and my 3 boys were looking for a place to eat when we saw the sign was illuminated and grabbed out attention. The service was awesome, very nice and approachable staff. The food was really lovely and even got 10/10 from my fussy eater. I'd certainly come again, really lovely well seasoned food, homemade chips!! The icing on the cake (no pun intended) was because we mentioned it was a bday celebration meal, we were presented with a spice of cake with a sparkler and bday music. What a lovely touch which made the bday boys feel very special indeed.

Had a group meal here to try out the new Turkish menu...... the menu was varied and great advice was offered by the waitress as to what each dish contained......... The service was excellent and the food was delivered in a timely manner once the order was placed.. Overall the food was great and Christine the manageress was a fabulous host and made us all feel very welcome....Would certainly recommend to all and will certainly be back here soon....

Went here to try the food with a party of 10 people, 1 was Vegetarian and 1 had a gluten allergy (These requirements were catered for). The food was lovely, fantastic variety and full of flavour. Christine was great and the service level was first class ! Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Me , my wife and family stayed here for 4 nights on the 29th of December 2023 , The new owners don't have a clue how to run a hotel, stayed here in the past and had no issues, but this trip not so , Was told breakfast was included in the price, but was told that we,ll have to pay for it abruptly on the first morning so we didn't have breakfast again , The room was dirty with blood on the door frame and door , also had other people's shower gel and shampoo left in the room so clearly hadn't been cleaned also took them half hour to get the key to us as they said the room was being checked and they couldn't find the key. We had no hot water for two of the nights , no heating in bathroom was freezing when you got out of the shower , Some of the staff just didn't care , so we,ll definitely won't be staying there anymore.

Room smells of... who knows what... shower dribbles, waited 20mins for hot water.. nothing, gave up. Ordered lamb shank, came out in less than 10mins...?? Cooked? Reheated? 1 potato and 20 tomatoes with it.. Will not be staying here again. Waste.

Volunteers from Telford Samaritans charity shop have held their Christmas lunch here for a number of years and always found it very good. Now under, new management, the previous high standards have been surpassed. The starter menu included some very unusual dishes and some regular favourites that were elevated by modern presentation. There were a few ‘wow’ exclamations at the arrival of the prawn cocktails and the burrarta salad dish was a meal in itself. The carvery has always been very good with beef or turkey, the option of a pie and a large selection of vegetables. This time was no exception. Desserts include homemade trifle and hot puddings as well as bought in gateaux. The staff serving are always friendly, welcoming and cope efficiently even with a large group. This new venture deserves to succeed and I’m keen to try the Japanese menu in the new year.

We visited the Swan last night as a group of over 30 for the Sailability Christmas dinner. To give this some context we consisted of sailors with additional care needs and their carers, organisers and volunteers who provide additional support for clients who come to sail during the summer months. I must admit the Christmas menu was a bit confusing part Turkish food, part traditional so many of us opted for the carvery as main courses. My only other gripe was that the hotel hadn’t replenished their alcohol free offerings so lime and soda it was for me as driver. I have to congratulate the staff as the food was delivered to us all with no issues and I couldn’t fault it. I had a prawn and avocado cocktail to start which came very nicely presented and tasted as good as it looked. The carvery was very well organised we went up table by table and the food was hot with a good choice of meat, vegetables and accompaniments. The standard of presentation continued to the desserts, I had a meringue nest with fresh fruit and cream. The members of our party who didn’t have the carvery were served at the table. It was advertised as a dinner and dance and we were treated to Rick Sax who entertained the whole group. It was great seeing some of the sailors up dancing and enjoying themselves. The staff at the Swan were very good and joined in with the dancing which was great to watch. Well done to the Swan.

Went on there steak night , it was to celebrate my 70th birthday. We are a family of 6 all adults there was fillet on the menu that night ,3 of our party went for it we all wanted different levels of cooking they got it perfect for everyone. The other 3 went for mixed grill they were also perfect. A big thank you to Christine for the help she gave my husband with the booking and looking after us also our waitress .

Went with family for birthday lunch, the food was excellent and the desert looked too good to eat..... thanks for a lovely meal and the warm welcome.

We were a party of 12, from the local kidney patients group. It was massively busy when we arrived at 2pm. We all sat down and menus were given, there was great array of starters to suit everyone. The starters were a good size. The main course was roast carvery, beef, pork and turkey with two vegetarian mains. Nine choices of vegetables and two potatoes, with Yorkshire pudding,stuffing and sausage, plenty of homemade gravy. The desserts were plentiful, I think about ten choices ! We all ate really well and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. At only £10.95 for 3 courses, it really is fabulous. Even some of the first timers in our group, will be going back again, swill we. The staff were great and really helpful and friendly.

The Swan Does a two course lunch for OAPs and carvery on other days two courses around £5 for oaps absolutely brilliant value. loads of choice. girls work hard to get everybody served can’t recommend it enough do you want a cheap brilliant home-cooked meal get round there

After supporting the Swan for several years, including the last 2 Christmas days it's very unlikely we will return. We had visitors over and decided to try Sunday lunch. From the moment we walked through the door we were pounced on, by a very eager waitress. She wanted our order approx 20 seconds after picking up the menu. She came back within a minute and wanted the order again. The starters came before my husband had even come back from the bar with drinks and as a result was cold as it seemed to be chaos at the bar. After finishing our food, we had settled the bill and we're just finishing drinks. The lady that appeared to be in charge of the dining room very loudly (not sure if it was for our benefit or not) shouted across the dining room about us getting out or she was have to come and move us herself, I made it clear that I had heard her (so had my guests which was embarrassing) but we were met with attitude. we were not aware that there was a time limit or seatings as this was not explained to us like it was at Christmas (which one would expect on Christmas day) her attitude to us was totally unacceptable and if this is the way that regular customers are treated it's clear why the business has struggled in recent times. Such a shame as we have had many nice family meals here.

Advert for the Swan at Wellington appeared in the local paper. Haven't been there for about 4 years, so thought give it a try. Must admit I was surprised on a Wednesday and Friday you can have a carvery for £5. Lots of different vegetables to choose from, two different types of meat and a steak pie to choose from, or you could have all three . Definitely worth a visit.

The food available did'nt look very nice but as we were already there decided to stay. The broccoli was a yellowy colour the roast potatoes were not crispy and there was no mash available. After eating the carvery there was an unpleasant taste in the mouth so had to buy a chocolate bar to take the taste away. First and last visit to The Swan. It's better to pay more and get a nice tasty carvery somewhere else.

Nice for an occasional cheap carvery. Pleasant staff, nice n clean, tasty food. Big place suitable for families and large partys.

We were so disappointed on our return for lunch. Is as if there is a different chef, we both left the meal. Such a sham, very disappointed, will not return

Aparecimos en un poco de capricho - asados por £3. 75, que no tienen grandes expectativas, pero decidimos que sería la pena probar y por ese precio siempre podíamos tomar una bolsa de patatas en el camino a casa si no era genial! A decir que nos quedamos muy agradablemente sorprendidos. La carne asados era genial, había una buena variedad de verduras frescas. También tenía una opción de pastel casero, que era absolutamente delicioso, como realmente muy sabroso! También tuvimos un postre por £2. 75 que estaba bastante bien. Gran cervezas de barril y servicio agradable y amable. El comedor es agradable y limpio. Así, no tengo ninguna queja. Sin duda volveremos y lo recomendaremos. Es lo que es y no es un restaurante con estrella Michelín, así que no esperes eso, pero lo que hacen lo hacen muy bien y estoy con ganas de probar de nuevo.

Siempre bienvenidos aquí en el Río Swan, Jackie siempre es un gran anfitrión y nos hace sentir muy bienvenido, nunca olvida a nosotros Brummies. La comida es excelente y recomiendo encarecidamente cualquier cosa del menú, el asador, hay que probar. Siempre hay un gran ambiente y sería nuestro local si vivimos en la zona. Alimentos y bebidas con un precio estupendo, todo el personal es amable y trabaja duro. Tienes que mirar todos los accesorios deportivos de aquí. Ansiosos por una razón para visitar pronto.

standard carvery very nice to eat the only fault is the plates are that small you cant fit a whole lot on your plate .the service is friendly and welcoming and dining area is tidy and clean.

Great beer, Mild on tap,and good honest food. We like the carvery. The staff were willing to stay open late for us and were able to accommodate large parties and small groups. Very reasonable prices.

We both had a lovely meal and went up 3 times each. Good value for money at £9.95 each on been going for 3 weeks. But well worth it. If you don't want or don't eat Chinese you can choose off normal menu.

Reservamos nuestra salida de la comida de Navidad que nos estaban cobrando £6.00 , Cuando volví de desafío, unos días más tarde, fue confrontado por un director muy grosera arrogante que claramente le falta aptitudes de servicio al cliente. No había ninguna disculpa me hizo sentir más distante.

We had the specials which were sizzling steak, they were very well cooked and tasty and at a great price, the place is huge and I don't know how it keeps going, staff very friendly and helpful, drinks very reasonable, would visit again next time I'm in the area.

We eat here quite of ten good food and homemade chips, very good staff and lovely place to sit and eat and chat, recommend everything really all cooked really well and hot to the table

So it's a little tired inside, but if what you are after is great value, very nicely done pub food and really friendly service then this place is definitely one to check out. I had 2 pints, a kebab starter and 12oz stake and still had change from £20

Excellent prices, food was perfect, couldn't ask for more. Will go there again. The pate was home made and if you order they will put some aside for you to buy.

I visited the Swan last Wednesday evening with my Wife and two friends, and what a lovely welcome we received from the Restaurateur and a lovely lady took us to a table and took are drinks order (very cheap} we then enjoyed a excellent carvery the meats were lovely, melt in your mouth and the steak pie was delicious, we also had 3 very nice sweets and 1 cheese and biscuits which also excellent. The lovely friendliness from all the staff maid are night it was Great and real value.

Had Sunday lunch - 3 courses for £8.95. Lots of choice and really tasty. The roast beef was delicious - though no chance of having it anything other than well done - "There's no demand" apparently. Great choice of desserts

My type of a lunch out without the frills, I would recommend if you did not wish to cook or smarten up.

I visited the Swan in Wellington with friends for overnight stay and enjoyed a lovely carvery meal on arrival. We could not resist the lovely welcoming ambience of the establishment and the friendliness of all the staff. The meal was excellent value for money as they offer a special price on certain days and we happened to arrive on one of them. there are 12 rooms, most of them family with a double and single. Although some parts could do with a bit of a face lift we could not complain about the cleanliness and efficiency of the place.
