Just a regular halfway house meet venue for a catch up with a mate over a pint or two. Excellent selection of ales on the hand pump and likewise lagers and ciders. Haven't eaten there but food does look good and a nice seating area to dine, but for me it's sitting outside watching the river traffic go by. Staff are always friendly as are the local regulars. Highly recommend a visit if in Gravesend.

Recently visited for a family get together, 16 of us. We booked by telephone within a week before and when we got there we basically had a little function room to ourselves. We ordered drinks which were a little slow to come out, when arrived the waiter managed to spill some down my daughter’s back. I ignored this as he looked young and inexperienced. Food was pre ordered a couple of days before , I had burger and chips with salad. Most of the food came out pretty much together except one which eventually came out as I was nearly finished. The burger was ok a little dry but that’s just my preference. Desert was lovely I only had the sorbet trio. A lovely pub very busy and reasonably priced. I’d visit again but as a smaller party to see if it was the sheer numbers they struggled with. I might add this was a Sunday lunchtime and was quite busy.

Amazing food, great price, and all the staff are absolutely fantastic... waitressses and waiters attentive with excellent knowledge on their food & drinks.. which actually makes it.. and obviously big shout out to the chefs for producing amazing food 😋 There is nothing worse than going to a restaurant, and waiters and waitresses don't know their product.. but not in the Three Daws!! Evening Visit. We had seen this pub after a river boat trip and decided to try it. This split-level pub has a number of cosy spaces for patrons to sit. Downstairs is a bar with fewer seats, which is used as a live music venue. There are toilets on both levels. There is also outside seating and good views of the river. We decided to eat, and my partner had a prawn cocktail, which was fine. I decided to try the cockles and bacon on toast . It sounds like a good idea, but it didn't work. The bacon was like pancetta, and the cockles could have been cooked in the bacon fat, fine . Instead, a rather overpowering garlic butter was poured over, and the toast was lying in it. It was also very salty. I managed to finish, but it was not easy to do. For a main , I decided on Tuna Nicoise, another disaster. The salad was just OK. The olives had pits, the eggs which were described as runny on the menu , were cold and hardboiled, and it seemed like the salad and eggs had been prepared much earlier as they were chilled. the tuna was supposed to be seared. It wasn't. It was overcooked and lukewarm. Overall, it was an unpleasant and unappetising plate of food. My partner had a roast. He ate most of it, but it looked unappealing to me. He left some, and I left most of mine.. There was an error over the bill at the bar, their fault . It was corrected. Pleasant staff and decent bar, but I wouldn't eat here again..

Several times over last few years, Myself and husband travel by train from south east London to Gravesend to board Waverly paddle steamer, and each time visit 3 Daws always pre book dinner before sailing, everything about previous visits perfect, this time Sunday 6 October 2024, greeting was as previous visits, friendly, shown to our table, our drinks came up fast, then a wait for our starter order to be taking, we finished starters, waited patiently for server to return to our table and we-ask could we have our main, she replied are you ready for your mains we replied yes, we were then left waiting nearly 50 minutes, frustrating watching same server being attentive to other tables nearby who came in after us, and didnt wait long for their orders, eventually I went to the bar to check our order as waiting 50 mins and mentioned other tables not waiting as long, staff did apologise just as our order was being delivered, after we finished we ask for the bill, server bought to us said we had to pay at the bar, then we noticed same server took other diners payment to their tables, I went to the bar to pay the bill , I can’t fault bar service , female staff ask was everything alright, she appeared look embarrassed when I said was ok, I didn’t leave a tip and this is something I almost never do , I will add the sausage and mash was lovely, I will visit again 3 Daws again, however this visit was a disappointment

Booked here having read got reviews but was rather disappointed. The staff were very friendly and attentive but the majority of the food, although reasonably priced was decidedly average. Most disappointing was the roast. There was plenty of meat, but the roast potatoes were very hard to cut into and the vegetables generally were not very appealing either in presentation and taste. The Yorkshire pudding wasn't homemade. The calves liver was however tasty as was the gypsy tart

Visited this pub for the first time, as it is featured in a book I have called Kent Smugglers' Pubs. It's right by the river and the pier where there is a ferry boat to Tilbury, but it doesn't run Sundays. We enjoyed Sunday Roast, and was pleased to see they have a vegetarian option of nut roast which was very tasty. There are also quite a few vegan meals available. My husband had the mixed roast which has a bit of lamb, beef and chicken, he went for the standard size, I had the small option. This is a lovely old pub with plenty of character including wonky floors, and serves delicious food. They have quite a few ales which pleased my husband. We didn't get round to trying the puddings but plan to visit again to have the gipsy tart, vegan key lime pie or crumble. The Saxon Shore Way starts in Gravesend so this is a handy place to eat before you start. The England Coast Path also goes along here, and there is another walk shown on a large board nearby. No smugglers' tunnels are available to see, but there might be historical guided tours of the town and riverside, I need to contact the Visitor Information Centre. We parked in a local council carpark which is free on Sundays.

We missed our ferry back to tilbury by seconds literally watching it pull away from the pier . So first thought is we’ve got half an hour till the next one and the nearest pub is this . So a quick beer was had in very pleasant surroundings in an old timber beamed pub steeped in history with quirky staircases lots of different floor levels and Thames views . What’s not to like ? And a bar billiards table ! A person fifty plus would remember seeing a bar billiards table in a pub occasionally, but personally I haven’t seen one this century! Or less dramatic , for twenty five years ! Anyway what seemed like a time wasting pint turned into a pleasant experience. Thanks to all at the daws hotel

From first visit the food was exceptionally brilliant, warm friendly greeting upon arrival. We have been regular customers now and the food has just got even more better the last couple of weeks, we tried the take away service last time and it turned up before estimated time and was piping hot. Couldn't recommend enough.

My wife and I just fancied somewhere different and if you want a pub that you will never accidentally stumble across this is it. We dropped in as i remember coming here a very long time ago as a teenager and it is a really pleasant surprise. The staff could not have been friendlier or more cheerful despite working very hard and the pub itself has had a facelift and is very smart and well turned out. It was wet when we arrived but there is some great outside space if you fancy it in the Summer. Ample car parking out front and a really friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent. I had Whitebait and my wife really enjoyed the Arancini balls. For mains I would recommend the Moroccan Lamb from the specials board and the Salmon with noodles looked and tasted excellent. Decent selection of lager and Dry Rose was first class. Bill was £76 for 2 including 2 rounds of drinks so pretty much par for the course and it was a very nice couple of hours spent. My only small gripe would be the gents toilets are a little tired. They need a lick of paint, a decent mirror and a little touch of panache but that is only a minor issue. Overall we will certainly come again. There is ample on the menu to drag us back and I'm looking forward to it.

I've always liked this pub, which is also in lovely setting, but the new menu is superb. I don't normally eat burgers but me and my nieces agreed that they were the finest ones that we have ever had ! Yes you pay a bit more than you would for normal pub food, but the quality is superb and well worth the extra price- which is still very reasonable. In addition the beer and wine were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Very highly recommended 👌. Do visit- you won't regret it.
