Stayed here on a Friday night. Our welcome was lovely, and we were greeted by a lovely lady. The room was warm, spotless and had lots of lovely touches (tea, coffee, biscuits, sweets etc). We slept well. The breakfast was delicious- the lady serving filled our fresh coffee continuously and we were not short of toast, butter and jams. The full English was just perfect - not to much, but not to little. Good produce and good service.

After seeing some of the negative reviews I wasn’t sure whether to visit the Three Cups Inn. However, I have nothing but praise for the Inn. They found us a table , even though it was a busy Bank Holiday Saturday. The food was excellent and served quickly. Plenty of it too. Nice to see chips served on the plate instead of in one of those silly tins. They were very accommodating as I am gluten free too, serving the fish baked instead of deep fried in batter. Would definitely recommend.

I think I stayed here before… but that was about 15 years ago. I was only here for the one night, as I was in town for the British touring car racing that was on up the road at Thruxton. By the time I arrived I had already eaten! But went to my room to relax for a while… it was a small room, but very nice and with an excellent bathroom. I visited the bar for a Guinness later on, the whole place looked great and restaurant area very warm and inviting.. I was beginning to have eaten elsewhere… but though my stay was short, it was very nice and relaxing. I’m planning on going back again sometime.

We had booked, for a night, but an unfortunate injury, we made it into a 2 night stay. Not out first visit to the 3 cups, but our first overnight stay. The location is beautiful with the river running by the beer garden. Sadly no access to the grassed area due to recent appalling amount of rain we had. The pub is busy and full of charm with access to a large welcoming open an excellent choice of Real ales, largers, cider and spirits. The accommodation was delightfully quirky. On the small side, but perfectly formed. Spotless, a very comfortable bed and delightfully styled. Our room was quiet and we both slept well. The breakfast was excellent. Flavourful and generous. As was the evening meals we had. A big thank you to all the hard working staff. We had a great time, and will most definitely return. Well done to everone we came contact with .

We ate here on two evening when staying elsewhere in Stockbrige as well as popping in for afternoon drinks on one day. A really lovely, friendly pub with an excellent menu well cooked. We very much enjoyed our visits here and really is the only proper pub left in Stockbridge - despite many other posh eateries - the quality of the food here was amazing and service quick and efficient.

I popped in for lunch whilst camping nearby. The staff qre friendly and helpful and it has a traditional pub feel to it. The Cheese Ploughman's was excellent, with Sowerby Cider the perfect partner. An Apple & rhubarb crumble came with a small jug of steaming custard - which was perfect. The table staff were attentive but not intrusive. The prices are reasonable (£13 for the Ploughman's), and you certainly get your money's worth. I would definitely go again.

Staff were lovely and attentive but unfortunately some of the food was letting them down. Child's fish and chips was presented on hot plate and the fish contained several long bones and did not appear cooked therefore did not chance giving this to our two year old granddaughter. On advising two separate staff members they did apologize and spoke to kitchen who said they order filleted fish... They still charged £8.00 for child's meal that she couldn't eat!

We stumbled across this fabulous pub over a wintery lunch time and whilst exploring Stockbridge village. Having not planned to eat out, we were offered a very warm welcome and a great choice of beers and ciders on the pumps. The fire was lit and the pub was busy with locals and visiting diners, so having found ourselves seats right by the fire, we couldn't resist checking out the lunch menu and we are so glad that we did!!! Our choice of a starter and a bar snack were not perhaps conventional ones, but the crispy baby squid was perfectly cooked and served with a beautifully dressed salad. The gourmet chips were a similarly delicious accompaniment that would easily challenge some of the best we have had. Although we were perhaps not dressed as well as we might have been, the service was excellent. Unpretentious, smiley, efficient and attentive. The service extended to our dog who was offered water and a biscuit. Thank you Team Three Cups We'll definitely be back and have already recommended this pub to friends.

We have been here a few times over the last few years and enjoyed it each time. But on principle I would not return. We called in last week on a lunchtime I ordered a green tea the tea pot was stained so badly it had obviously never seen the dishwasher it was black and frankly it was disgusting. I ordered ham and egg and one of the egg yolks was bordering on a cream colour the palest yellow ever and the texture was weird so I couldn’t eat it. Indicating it was probably way out of date. The house coleslaw is usually lovely but it was the bulk standard shop bought stuff on my plate. For the money I was disappointed. I did tell the young man behind the bar. And I did email them in hope of an apology but my email was ignored. Hence my review. Wish I had taken some photos.

Our third visit in recent months - and it will be our last. Four of us went here for lunch having reserved a table. The place was far from busy but we had to ambush a member of staff to place a food order; a £13.95 chicken caesar salad came with precisely half a hard boiled egg, too much parmesan, too much lettuce and dry bits of chicken breast which could very easily have been bought pre-packed from the Co-op over the road. We had to ask for a wine list, ask for a water refill, ask twice for black pepper, mayo and ketchup, ask for the bill and ask again for a card machine - and as we left, the individual who had provided what was such a poor level of service that we - very unusually - declined to leave a tip didn't even bother acknowledging us as we walked past him, so engrossed was he in his screen. Very disappointing - Stockbridge deserves better.

My partner and I stayed recently for one night, and if I was to rate the evening meal and overnight stay alone, I would give five stars (albeit the photos on social media of the food are slightly different to the real life presentation...)There were some thoughtful touches to the small but cosy bedroom, such as radox bubble bath, jelly beans and maryland-style cookies.I thought the evening staff were wonderfully friendly and personable. Service during the evening was great - in particular James and Sophie were lovely. The flavour of the food was lovely - portion sizes were excellent and the trout risotto was great. The morning was slightly less enjoyable, which is why I am giving four stars (and why I was actually tempted to reduce it to three, however I seem to be plagued far too often with giving people the benefit of the doubt). We didn't have the greatest welcome from one of the members of staff (brown haired lady...?owner) when my partner and I came down for breakfast. When I enquired as to where breakfast was, she looked put upon and said "it's there" as if I should have known where it was. When asked if we wanted coffee or tea, my partner said he would like a cappuccino, and we were told quite abruptly, and in a way that signified we were of great annoyance to her, that "the coffee machine was not yet on" (this was at 9:30am). Ten minutes later we overheard a different member of (much friendlier) staff say apologetically to another table that unfortunately they do not provide flat whites/cappuccinos etc at breakfast. If the former is true - why not, and why respond rudely to guests who would be willing to pay you extra for a cappuccino? If the latter is true - fair enough if you choose not to serve these at breakfast, however it would be good to have a consistent, truthful message, as well as a choice to pay extra to have a cappuccino or other such coffee. Finally, both my partner asked for the full English without mushrooms, and both came with mushrooms. I tend to be quite forgiving of things like this, however I am less so of staff being rude and unwelcoming.

We sat in the garden and were the first sitting out there. Just one couple inside as it was only 12.10 pm so just opened.A waitress took our drinks order and left the food menus. Another couple came into the garden and a waiter took their order and brought their drinks out while we were still waiting for our drinks. As we were chasing up the order with him our young waitress came with the drinks and apologised for the delay. She took our food order.Slowly the garden filled up and we sat and watch in dismay as other food orders were being brought out. Feeling annoyed (and hungry) we decided to just sit and wait. We gave up after a 50 minute wait, and walked away from the pub. Earlier the waitress served the table next to us and one gentleman ask what real ales they had. She listed the lagers. He repeated that he wanted a real ale. She was bemused. My husband chipped in recommending the real ale he was drinking that she had served! Very disappointing service.

We stayed for one evening on a B&B basis. After reading some of the food reviews we decided to have an evening meal which unfortunately I thought only average.Breakfast though was outstanding. Being an old inn rooms are small but have everything required. We had a good nights sleep and overall the place was spotless.I must mention though that some members of staff and clientele were maskless. How uneasy this made us feel when people passed our table on the way to the toilets. This I did mention on paying our bill the following morning. We were told that there hadn’t been any Covid cases and perhaps people were being blaze. Considering the Inn receives a lot of bookings for B&B from different parts of the country perhaps they should ensure that they themselves wear suitable face coverings and clamp down on the clientele who are not wearing face coverings when moving around inside the bar area.Unfortunately we are still in a Pandemic and to stay safe rules must be followed.

Beautiful sunny day, had lunch at the 3 cups with my Sister. Was served by a young lady who had only just turned 18. She was lovely, friendly, and made our lunch even more memorable. To start the Greek meatballls with Tsatsiki, and Pecorino with Pistashio and honey. The two of the freshest baguettes that my Sister and I had eaten. Freshly Poached trout baguette with creme fraiche and Horseradish cream was an absolute delight. The other baguette was a very tasty Coronation chicken baguette. Washed down with some lovely Pink Fizz. Cracking service, beautiful food and some lovely friendly staff on a beautiful Sunny day. What more could you ask for. Thank you Jean F and Mags M.

We have visited the Three Cups many times prior to Covid and during Covid when it was allowed. Thought we would pop in this evening for a drink and possibly to eat but unfortunately so disappointed with the unhappiness of the staff member who served us....decided better not to stay to eat! Such a shame to finally be allowed out when some staff clearly not happy to be back in work!Very disappointed....

Felt very uneasy having lunch there on 13th May, waiters were NOT wearing masks, (not covid secure) , no hand sanitiser on table, service slow.

All very well organised and spotlessly clean. Tables in the garden under a large marquee with no sides. We actually moved our table out in the sun as it was such a lovely day. Basic menu that hasn't changed since before lockdown but nevertheless nice food, served well. Not much choice but they have done well.

I've always loved this pub! A family run freehouse & Inn with the most idyllic setting and beautiful garden/interior. Lucy has always offered a fantastic environment where anyone is welcome and the food is top quality every time. It should also be noted the The Three Cups is one of the most reasonably priced places in town, certainly the best value for money! I'm already looking forward to my next visit

We visited the day lockdown 2 lifted, unsure what to expect. It's a beautiful cosy pub, the fires and candles were lit. Staff were friendly and welcoming, they helped me navigate the menu to avoid foods I'm allergic to. The meals were excellent, fresh and homemade. Everything was covid secure and felt safe. Really recommend.

My partner and I thought we'd visit Stockbridge and came across this venue. We hadn't booked a table but the friendly staff managed to find us a table which was a lovely little table at the front by the window. I had The Angus topside of beef with roast potatoes and vegetables, which was delicious. My partner had trout. The prices were quite reasonable and we'll definitely be eating here again. Lovely atmosphere too.

A brilliant afternoon spent in this gorgeous pub/restaurant. Great service, fast, friendly and efficient. Made to feel like part of the family fromthe moment we walked in the door. Perfectly decorated to create a real old world homely feel. The patio area and gardens were beautiful with the little stream running through. The whole place maintained to a very high standard. This will be first on my list of places to visit when I return to the area.

Haven't eaten here in a while so thought I'd pop in. I luckily got the last table outside during a busy lunch. If eating id definitely book in advance.I was shown to my table with drinks and choose the hake and chips with mushy peas. The fish was the freshest fish ive had in a long time! Very flavoursome and enjoyable.I forgot to drink in between finished it in a bit longer than 60 seconds but not much!!!Will be recommending to family as we haven't eaten here as a family for years+

Decided to stop on our way to Bournemouth and were warmly welcomed in this traditional low ceilinged pub - decided to sit inside though tables available outside too. We had not booked - probably best to do in future as it was busy.We had to wait a bit for food but the excellent waiting staff were aware of this and dealt with the situation brilliantly. My wife and I both had the wild boar sausages(3) and parsley mash and can honestly say it was one of the best ever - well done chef.

Having visited all the pubs in Stockbridge over the past few years, the Three Cups is without doubt the best of them all. It has a traditional pub feel within the 15th century building, whilst remaining current modern. The pub feels very homely and like a family owned pub always did - not like some of the chain/brewery pubs can feel.Food is great, many dishes of which are based on seasonal and local food. Great range of beers and wine too. The biggest attraction for us is the lively feel. COVID-19 measures are addressed very well with one-way routes around the place, tables and chairs thoroughly cleaned between sittings and hand sanitiser at various points. Sadly, there’s not a lot you can do when these measures are in place and some people ignore them (as we witnessed). There is a choice of sitting in the main pub, the attached orangery, or the garden which is particularly delightful with a stream running through, complete with trout and ducks. We cannot understand some of the comments on here as service has always been good with attentive and friendly staff. At busy times there is bound to be a bit of a wait on food, particularly with Rishi’s discount in August. If you want a traditional, lively, but modern feeling place for excellent food or drinks - this is the place to come.

As with all National Trust cafes very over priced for what you get, we had to wait ages to be served, the sandwiches were freshly made but that held things up even more, my slice of orange and poppyseed cake was tiny for £4, sandwiches no garnish just bread and the filling for £7, if we go again it will be a long time and probably take a picnic I could understand if a footman delivered it to us but that wasn’t the case.

Quality of food has drastically decreased since I last came here. If you want a meal, don't come here. Overpriced and quite disgusting. Coffee and cake is probably fine. Though my coffee came out after I had finished eating. I likely won't be back.

Dreadful inedible food. Mussels shredded and disintegrated. Steak baguette. Uncooked tough awful tasting steak. I have never ever written a review before and never ever in my 78 years had such awful food. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Nice surroundings. Just need new chef
