Don’t bother coming here at lunchtime if you’re not booked for afternoon tea. Half of Andover is either unemployed or elderly, and you can expect to find the restaurant filled to the brim, with a long queue that the staff don’t bother tending too as they’re too busy flirting around serving the afternoon teas. FUMING! At this point the business might as well only have lunch open for afternoon tea. Thanks for wasting my lunch break queuing!

Writing this review after queueing for 25 mins and still sitting at my table 25 mins later. All I want is a cuppa and cake, but the place is so busy and customers are just waiting ages. Ooh.. just had coffee delivered at the 50 min mark, but no cake. Waiting....waiting...another 7 mins and the cake arrives at last after I've already finished my Cuppa. Never had to wait this long in any Cafe in my life. Staff are pleasant and food is decent, but the wait is unforgivable. After this experience I doubt I will ever return.

Cappuccino and pastry/cheese scone was good when it arrived, but waited half an hour for two beverages and the pastries.

Atmosphere pleasant and staff are helpful but the food quality and choice is so much worse than Rosebourne used to offer and yet the prices are sky high and are just not worth it. Won't be back anytime soon. If you have a food allergy they leave you with a giant folder akin to a logic puzzle rather than labeling any info directly on the menu.

Overpriced for quality of food and slow service.

Stopped here for lunch and even though it was busy, we found a table quickly. Food was delicious, we had the shepherd's pie, chicken burger and roast beef. We had to wait quiet a while for the food to arrive but staff we really friendly and polite.

Very good afternoon tea deal at half price. We’ve been twice now and very delicious they were. I had the savoury and the wife had the sweet one. Couple of weeks ago we had the equally delicious cream tea (savoury and sweet) at half price. With deals like these the restaurant seemed quite busy. Very good service as usual. Going again next week.

Jo......you are a star🌟and a credit to the cafe. Always welcoming with a smile and nothing is too much trouble! Everything seems so much better with that personal touch. A true role model. We thoroughly enjoy our afternoon teas and visit regularly both before and after the change of ownership.

First visit for us since taken over by Hilliers and had high hopes having viewed the menu online prior. Sadly, there was no flexibility on ordering whether via the app or at the tills for food. One of our party wanted to order scramble rather than fried eggs, this was politely declined by staff, then we asked for sourdough toast (as this is on menu for other breakfast items), again politely declined, one of the party wished to have an extra egg added and was happy to pay for, but how on earth do you justify £1.50 for one egg!? . The food itself once it arrived was of a good quality and enjoyed by all. Just a shame that there is such rigidity on the menu choices as I don’t think our requests for alternatives were outrageous and led to a disappointing first try of the restaurant.

Our first visit here after the inevitable demise of the previous incumbents. Service excellent, pricing ok. It being time for second breakfast when we arrived, I opted for the roll filled with 3 breakfast items. 3 sausages was too much for the rather flimsy and fluffy roll which instantly fell apart. I should have dismantled it first. My companions had scones which they said were delicious. People around us seemed to be enjoying their food and the restaurant was busy. We will come again as the savoury afternoon tea has taken my fancy. This has always been a popular restaurant for meeting friends and long may it do so.

Lovely pub garden. Dog friendly inside and out (but not in restaurant so you eat in the bar). Attentive and friendly staff. Good menu and variety of drink options.
